  1. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of such a dominant team under both @dlamb and @N0HBDY. Congrats to Captain Kiss @Kisslinger as well, he was one hell of a leader!
  2. Last time you'll be able to vote for Brendan Marner! Most hits, 2nd most in goals, and points here!
  3. I got for #1: Jimi Jaks - 2 min. for roughing Jacob Stone - 4 min. for diving Nico Pearce - 6 min. for slashing Ronan Lavelle - 10 min. for boarding I got for #2: Brendan Marner vs Jesse Teno - 3 goals, 7 shots Oreo McFleury vs Art Vandelay - 2 goals, 10 shots Pete Mitchell vs Alexander Minion - 1 goal, 5 shots The Frenchman vs Lachlan Summers - 4 goals, 15 shots Hope I'm right!
  4. So, lets do another redraft! This time it’s the season 79 redraft. I heard you guys from the last redraft, but I think I will stick to retired draft classes just to see how players do with all seasons under their belt. In this redraft I have ranked all the players that had played at least one season played in the VHL, as I can’t rank someone for a VHL draft if they do not play. In this case we have 25 players that have played in the VHL from the season 79 draft class. With that being said I wanted to make a special mention to Orion D H Chiester IX who played in the VHLM and VHLE for his entire career. Despite having a 510 TPE, his stats fooled me, I wrote about him because I thought I was looking at his VHL statistics. With that being said, I do not really look at TPE in these rankings, rather I look at points, goals, hits, shots blocked, etc. Anyways, lets get right into my picks: 25. X Man X Man was drafted 33rdoverall in the VHL draft, although he only played 1 season in the VHL, his totals are 47 hits, 59 blocked shots and 15 points in 72 games. 24. Alex Parise Parise was drafted 21stoverall, also only played one season in the VHL, but in the 62 games he played in, he had a 0.905 save percentage, 3.96 goals against average, and 13 wins. 23. Connor Wilson Wilson was drafted 35thoverall and played only one season in the VHL, but collecting 41 points, 86 hits and 40 blocked shots in the 72 games. 22. Pistol Pete Pete, drafted 32ndoverall, played 2 seasons in the VHL and had 70 points, 186 hits and 86 shots blocked in the 139 games he’s played in. 21. Zdeno Chara Chara was drafted 20thoverall and played in 2 seasons where he put up 281 shots blocked and 90 points in the 144 total played games. A decent 2-way defender that gave Moscow a depth piece in the season 82 cup run. (Though they lost) 20. Rhys Trenton Trenton was drafted 17thoverall playing in 3 seasons where he collected 504 hits, 489 blocked shots and 145 points in the 216 games. This was amazing for a depth piece defenceman, and the 74 points in his first season was just a bonus on top of that. 19. Miroslav Tsarov Tsarov drafted 16thoverall played 4 seasons in the VHL, and he is another defenceman to collect 71 points in his rookie season, even toping it of with 66 points in his second season. Tsarov eventually became more defensive in the next 2 seasons and in total collecting 217 points, 682 hits, and 339 blocked shots in 288 games. 18. Jakub Brozik Brozik was drafted 18thoverall and played in 5 VHL seasons putting up 228 points and 325 hits in 360 games. 17. Deagun Rust This might be a little controversial, but Rust was drafted 23rdoverall and didn’t put up great numbers 63 points, and 188 blocked shots in 288 games. But what he mastered was the hitting category, putting up a total of 1015 hits in those 288 games making him one of the best gritty players in the league at the time. 16. John Baard Baard was drafted 19th overall, and was a good offensive player, collecting 307 points in 360 games aswell picking up 525 hits in those games. 15. Em Em Flex Okay Flex was only a player in 3 seasons, but with the 0.921 save percentage, and only a 2.84 goals against average, and 110 wins in only 176 games, that is and amazing accomplishment. It is also important to mention that Flex brought the Bears to a cup win back in season 83. Flex was drafted 11thoverall. 14. Bob Beach One of the biggest jumps on this list is Beach as he was drafted 30thoverall, but as a defenseman put up 142 points, 692 hits and 641 blocked shots in his 287 games that he played in. Beach is a very solid defensive player. 13. Omi Aberg Aberg was drafted 12thoverall collecting 401 points and 275 hits in his 432 game career. Aberg was a very consistent player only having 2 off seasons. His final season, and his second season in Warsaw. The rest of the seasons saw him put up a point a game or more. Also being a good depth piece for Warsaw’s cup win in season 84. 12. Donny Carter Carter was drafted 22ndoverall (another big jump) to be a winger that put up 343 points, 481 hits, and 232 blocked shots in his 432 career games. He also played as a big role in his final season helping Vancouver win the season 86 cup. 11. Sunrise van de Schubbekuteveen That’s a mouth full… Sunrise was drafted 14thoverall collecting 355 points and 509 hits in his 431 game career in the VHL. His most notable season was in his second season where he collected 51 goals and 98 points in that 72 game season. 10. Sigard Petrenko Finally, the top 10, starting with Petrenko was drafted 7thoverall and collected 385 points and 214 shots blocked in 432 games, but like some other players on this list, he was a full-time gritty player in the league. He ended up collecting 1369 (nice) hits in his 432 career games making him one of the best 2-way players form this draft class. 9. Tyler Reinhart Tyler was drafted 2ndoverall, although this is a huge drop, he played his part well, especially in Vancouver. Tyler was a player that collected 514 points, and 815 hits in his 504 games played. These are crazy point totals, but only seemingly lasting in Vancouver as once he left the Wolves every statistic of his plummeted. But nothing can take away from his 63 goals, 126 point season in season 80. He was also one of the Wolves main pieces in winning the season 80, 81, and 82 cups. Yes, he is an amazing player with amazing totals, but I question why the totals only stay this high when he was apart of the beast Vancouver was in this time. 8. AJ Williams William was drafted 5thoverall collecting 484 points, 359 hits and 218 blocked shots in only 432 games. His consistency to get near a point a game or more was impressive overall. The only poor season he had was back in his rookie season where he put up only 61 points, but his best season showed him collecting 106 points and 52 goals in season 83. He was also always a main playoff contributor especially when he helped the Bears go to the final twice, and one of those times even wining it with the Bears. 7. Tyler Mourning Mourning played 8 VHL seasons, being drafted 10th overall and collecting 568 points in 576 games. Even though those numbers are good on their own, he was also one of the grittiest players back in his time collecting 2038 hits in his career making him the best 2 way forward in this draft class. An outlying season he had was his 59 goals and 129 point season back in season 82. This lucky man also collected the Continental Cup back in his rookie season. 6. Poopy Peepants Peepants was drafted 4thoverall, and this defense put up decent points, 424 points in 576 games, but his real feature was his ability to hit and block shots. 1499 hits and 1058 blocked shots during his VHL tenure. These numbers combined with his points makes him one of the better 2 way defensemen in the draft class. Although his game focused more on his defensive aspect. 5. Jonathan Ori Ori was drafted 8thoverall and had a respectable run after the first couple of seasons. In 576 games played Ori had collected 570 points, and 805 hits. The near point a game pace was only made impossible by his first 2 seasons in the VHL where he put up 74 points in 144 games. However, his abilities changed after this, and he was over a point a game player after these seasons. It was also notable that he helped the Bears go to the finals in Season 84, but unfortunately lost in that final. 4. Baby Bob The next big jumper is Bob as he was drafted 9thoverall in the VHL draft and had been amazing since he joined the league. With only one season under a point a game… that’s 71 points in 72 games… he was anything but a disappointment. With 559 points, 223 shots blocked, and 553 hits in 432 games he can be easily higher on this list, but some close top talent is still to come. His outlying season was his final season where he collected 64 goals, 117 points and 129 hits that season. 3. Erlantz Jokinen Jokinen was drafted 6thoverall and had been an absolute beast of a defender. He collected 537 points in his 574 games, but also in those games put up 978 hits and 1210 shot blocks. These totals are enough to say he was an amazing offensive defenseman, and an amazing defensive defenseman. Although those hit totals, I would like to see higher for defensive players. But regardless, the shots blocked are some of the bests we have seen ion this draft class, you need to account for that. Jokinen also helped Prague go to the finals, but lost it in his last season. 2. Papa Emeritus Papa, the 1stoverall pick from this draft class dropped a spot. Papa was one of the best goaltenders in the league up until his retirement, and with his 0.924 save percentage, 2.65 goals against average, and his 262 wins in his 433 games career, this goaltender needs to be considered one of the best the league has seen. Although he has not been the most consistent player to tend the goal, he still had some amazing runs, such as his season 84 stats where he put up a 0.939 save percentage, 1.97 goals against average and 48 wins in 65 games. Although Papa has been to the finals 3 consecutive times, he was beaten by Vancouver in each of those finals. Papa will go down as a Moscow legend. 1. Jerome Reinhart Jerome was drafted 3rdoverall, but I have him first after his career, why? Jerome was drafted as a forward and played in Vancouver collecting multiple 100 point seasons to later switch to defence once he went to New York. Regardless of this fact Jerome put up 784 points in 578 games, as well, 919 hits and 866 blocked shots in those games. Yes, most of his blocked shots came from his defensive tenure, but his hits were fairly consistent, in fact, he hit more as a forward. Jerome had four 100 point seasons and a 99 point season. One of the 100 point seasons was done as a defence, as well as his 99 point season. That alone is a crazy stat, but he also recorded 141 points and 59 goals in a season (that’s nearly 2 points a game). Jerome also had a season where he put up 61 goals and 141 points… Just another amazing stat. This is already the best player on this list, but he tops it off with 3 consecutive Continental Cup wins. Now I can hear you complaining, what’s the difference between Jerome Reinhart on Vancouver and Tyler Reinhart on Vancouver? Its simple, once Tyler left Vancouver he struggled, but once Jerome left, he switched to defence and put up another 100 point season, and still consistently collected points, and increased his defensive game as well. Oh yeah, and in season 81 Jerome put up 52 points and 28 goals in only 18 playoff games. Although these are my rankings, they might still be different depending on the person ranking them, so I want to ask you, what do you think of these rankings? What might you change? Where would you put these players? Also, I my plan is to make redrafts of retired draft classes to see where they rank after a career, is there any currently retired draft classes you want to see? 2000+ words
  5. Well, the Warsaw Predators have been severely underwhelming this season. With the addition of Cole Pearce in the off season the expectation was big for Warsaw, but still sitting out of a playoff spot, the team is clearly struggling. Now the odd reality of the struggling team is not only did they add a top goaltender with an excellent backup, but the stars on the team are playing excellent. Brendan Marner has 39 goals and 90 points in only 60 games but is currently at a standstill at that 39-goal mark. Marner is in the top of the leaderboard of both of those feats as well. Brian Payne has shown his skills with the 70 points he has in the 60 games as a defenceman. Payne is in the top 5 for defensive scoring as well. There are 4 players that are between 4 points below or above a point a game. The team isn’t lacking scoring or goaltending, its really just had trouble getting that extra goal to win the games.
  6. 1. What are your thoughts on the Leafs winning a playoff series? Its awesome, feels sooo good. It finally happened. You knew how I would answer with my player name though. 2. What are your predictions for round two of NHL playoffs? I say Hurricanes, Seattle, Toronto (But Panthers are looking good), and Vegas (but geez I love Oilers too) 3. When sitting, do you prefer a Couch or Recliner? Recliner, feet up and chill. 1. Who has been your favorite GM through your VHL experience. 2. How shocked were you in the NHL first round upsets and what were the biggest surprises to you? 3. Where do you really want to visit for a vacation?
  7. Holy moly, I have not been watching the league leaders close enough. This week I noticed Brendan Marner on top yet again with goals and total points, this might not be a surprise for most people considering last season, but for me, I am very surprised. Brendan Marner is on a good team, however the team has been struggling, so the GM thought bringing in a better goaltender and changing the defensive style of play would help. It did, but not enough for Brendan Marner to gather the totals he did the last few seasons. This is quite a spectacle; I was so certain the team went defensive I was preparing to be one of the best defensive teams in the league. Well, that was proven wrong recently, and can I say I am very pleased? Yes, we didn’t win anything last season, but it feels good to still \have the intensity fans want to see from our offense.
  8. 1. If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I'd switch with Andrei Vasilevskiy and eat junk food and grease right before game 6 to give the leafs an edge in the next game. Is that okay? 2. What was the best gift you ever received? When I was young my family gave us a trip to Florida, that was a lot of fun. 3. If you could star in any movie, what would it be? I like horror movies, and I would love to play in a saw movie, I would obviously be the star though. 1. What's more important to you in the VHL, collecting the personal awards or getting the Continental Cup? 2. What play style is your player, and how does your role complement your line/team? 3. how is your favorite, and most disliked players in the VHL?
  9. This season has been hectic, but one thing is certain, the team in Warsaw has taken a real step down this season. This is very disappointing considering all the older veterans on the team, but the team cannot execute their plans. The team’s morale has been dropping, with many players blaming it on the stronger European division, but I’m not part of that group anymore. We used that excuse last season, and we are going to use it again? When does the team know what we have left? No, the team is just missing pieces and plans for being a better team right now, they need to prove it to themselves and the fans. The team is currently sitting second last in Europe, and in the bottom 6 teams in the entire league, this isn’t just work from a tough division, we just suck. As we approach the trade deadline, there should be some crazy changes to see if anything and work the team properly.
  10. 1. IF you could move anywhere in the world, where would you move and why? I don't know never really thought about it, haven't traveled the world at all, yet 2. What's one hobby you wish you could be a master of? Playing hockey, so I could play pro. That would be a hell of a dream, even just NHL 1 game. 3. You find $1 million in a chest. What do you do with it? keep it, finders keepers bud 1. What's your favorite beer? 2. What team is looking the best in the NHL? 3. Who's surprising you in the VHL this season?
  11. It is a down year for Brendan Marner, he has 24 points in 21 games, this brings him well off the leaderboard for the most points in the league. With 11 goals as another complement, it helps, but he is still not a top goal scorer either. This is a real change from last season, but well take the heat for now. The team is doing very good defensively, but really lacking offensively, the team is showing different colors than last season, but getting the same result. They need to somehow take up their scoring but keep the defense good. I am not sure why the team is doing so poor a quarter of the way through the season, but look at what’s working, and what needs to improve and you can get the recipe for success. The goaltending is looking like what will push them into the playoffs right now.
  12. This is going to be the start of a new chapter in the NHL. With the Boston Bruins making history, the shock came out of nowhere as the league was debating if they would even make the playoffs. This could be the year that the Bruins win another cup, but if president trophy history tells you anything, they will be either kicked out of the first round in 4 games, or they will lose sometime in the playoffs. A big question is willing the Lightning win or Colorado? Well, the Bolts have taken a regressive season, and so have the Aves, but the difference is the Aves pushed going up to the playoffs, whereas the Bolts laid off. I think it is very possible that many teams surprise the league these playoffs. I really think the matchups are closer than people think, and that includes the Kraken vs Aves, and Vegas vs Jets, even Carolina vs Islanders. These will be a close 6-7 games, if not, than an upset as a bold prediction… Oh yeah and Leafs in 5 as another bold prediction.
  13. 1) Why does everyone need to refer to the Leafs as the Laughs? The team gets a lot of hate I guess for the fan base, its a little annoying when a leagues like this will officially make jabs like this (I saw it too), but the laughing stock switches to the one who thinks the Bruins are playing 2 different teams in round 1 in the playoffs. I used to try to stay away from talking down on other teams like that cause I know the pain, but I have had a lot of people talk down to me like that so I've become the type of leafs fan they hate. 2) What is your favourite season of the year? My favourite season is the fall, its not too hot, not too cold, and the time for hockey his near. 3) Are you a dog or cat person? That's a good question, I love my dogs I've had them since I was young, and my sister has some very good pups as well. However, my family had a couple of cats when I was a kid, but they aren't with us anymore. I'd say a dog person, but I still have a heart for cats. Who do you have as the NHL Cup winner? Is there a VHL team looking too good for the rest right now? Do you think any big upsets will happen for the first round?
  14. Underrating the talents of Brendan Marner is a MISTAKE!!!
  15. With the start of the season, we can see how the teams are doing early this season. So far there is not too much difference between teams, with only 1 player to have won every game, and 1 team to have lost every game, there isn’t any noticeable deadly teams yet. Obviously, this is too early to look too deeply in these stats, but there is still something to be said about it in the early season. It seems to be loaded more in Europe with points but remember that they have played a few more games already. Regardless of that, as a Warsaw player, the team has been better defensively, keeping out more goals this season, but the offense has suffered a lot. With only 8 goals for will not cut it, but the 8 goals against is good defense from the team. If missing the playoffs is as close as it was last season, every game is important, and these early wins can help teams fulfill their playoff position late in the season.
  16. 1. How excited are you for summer? Excited, Ill be finally done school and looking for a job. 2. What’s your expectations for your player this season? Big expectations this season, I'm in the last season. 3. What is your favorite summer sport? I don't really have one, can hockey be a summer sport too? or UFC maybe? 1. A few games have been played so far, how has your team does so far? 2. How is your player doing early in this season? 3. Is your favorite NHL team in the playoffs? How do you feel about their chances?
  17. @Gaming Ringleader G - Xavier Booberry F - Napoleon Dynamite
  18. @Gaming Ringleader F - Igor Molotov D - AK92 Wit da Hoodie
  19. @Gaming Ringleader F - Brendan Marner D - Max Torq
  20. Ahh I thought that might have been the case, but I didn't know how to check.
  21. There was a lot of players in the season 80 draft that has had a phenomenal career with their respective teams. There were some crazy draft steals over in the season 80 draft, so what would the draft look if it was repicked today? As we stand, the players in this draft still have one more year to prove themselves, but many of the third and fourth rounders have already retired, so any retired players will not be in the redraft. Another thing to mention is if the player did not play a single VHL game then the player will not be in the redraft. Before getting into this, there are 2 retirees that must be mentioned before starting. These 2 players very well could be in the top 15 in the redraft, but without drafting retired players I cannot force them in unfortunately. So special mentions to Armani Calamari who retired in season 85, and David Davis who retired in season 86 (and who could probably be in the top 10, if not top 5 if still playing). 24. Finn Davis Finn Davis was drafted 29thoverall, and only played 2 seasons for LA back in season 83 and season 84. With 64 points in 144 games. 23. Bradley Buzzer Buzzer was drafted 31stoverall, and played 3 seasons in the VHL, racking up 197 games played 51 points and 289 hits. 22. James glove dropper James was drafted 26th overall and played in 360 games with 101 points and 270 hits over the 4 VHL seasons. 21. Flynn Remy Drafted 18thoverall Remy played in 5 VHL seasons and collected 248 points in the 432 games as a defenseman. Also collects a total of 775 blocked shots during his VHL career. 20. Sting Chameleon Sting was drafted 23rdoverall and has had a respectable VHL career with 241 points, 435 hits and 695 blocked shots in 360 games. 19. Florida Man Florida Man has not been great, with his career collecting his 385 points and 457 hits in 432 games, the 13thoverall pick has not panned out to be as good as believed. However, his consistent play in the VHL shows he might be a real leader in the locker room. 18. Kyosti Karjalainen Kyosti was picked 25thoverall and has been good for Moscow, collecting 374 points, and 497 hits in 432 games. 17. Logan Ablar Drafted 12thoverall Ablar played in 6 VHL seasons playing in 504 games with 365 points, 524 hits and 637 blocked shots. 16. Matt Avens Avens had crazy point and goal totals back in his VHL rookie year, 132 points and 55 goals, but did not win the rookie trophy. This 33rdoverall pick has had an amazing tenor in the VHL with 420 points in 432 games and 465 hits to compliment that. Good steal if you ask me. 15. Juice Box Box was drafted 20thoverall and played in 432 games with 299 points as a defenseman. Also adding 584 hits and 901 blocked shots in total. 14. Kyle Peace This may hurt a little, but 5thoverall pick Kyle Peace has not panned out like Toronto wanted, with 504 games played, 507 points, and 577 hits, some would say he might be one of the bigger draft flops. 13. Nils Godlander Nils was an 11thoverall pick and has had a couple good years in the league, however the player has been extremely inconsistent. With 432 games played, and 477 points and 666 hits he is good, but hard to put higher on this list. 12. Corey Kitson Corey has been one of the best defensemen in the league since joining, with 508 points, 580 hits, and 1168 blocked shots in 576 games, he has done a lot for his teams. Drafted 6thoverall he has proven himself but may not have quite been top 6 good. 11. Ryan Vidot Ryan has had a decent go on the Dragons, playing 504 games and collecting 536 points. He started in the VHL being a great 2 way forward collecting over 200 blocked shots in those first 2 seasons, but immediately stopped blocking shots after that, I guess it hurt too much. It has been a solid career for this 16thoverall pick. 10. Alessandro Nano Nano was picked 8thoverall and is a bit of a two-way defender with 440 points, 1240 hits, and 963 blocked shots in 504 games, he can be trustworthy up and down the ice. I believe the pick to be a bit high considering the production, but it is still good. 9. Sven Eightnine Sven has killed the league with his defensive talents, as he is with only 371 points, 1324 hits and 1099 blocked shots make up for it. This 15thoverall pick was right were you want a player like this, deep and dependable. 8. Matty Fire Fire has been a driving force in the VHL, picked 2ndoverall and with 646 points, 1157 hits in 576 games, it’s been an amazing ride for Fire, but it’s hard to say if this is the 2nd overall worthy. He impresses, but not as much as one may want to form a high pick like that. With 8 seasons played though, it is an accomplishment. 7. Saku Kotkakoivu Saku has been an amazing force in the league, hitting the 613 points in 504 games, and 1416 hits to compliment that more. However, being a 3rdoverall pick, it is hard to say if it was slightly too high, but Saku has been a forceful 2-way forward in the league. 6. Zach Kisslinger Zach has no doubt been a heavy producer on Warsaw, hitting franchise records on the young Warsaw franchise. Zach was picked 14thoverall and has collected 652 points and 1536 hits in 504 games. This is a 2-way player that has been very dependable, and I might even say a great steal from that kind of production. 5. Vinny Detroit Vinny has been explosive in the VHL, many teams hate playing him, he is good on the puck, but what he really specializes with is laying the body. Vinny has 487 points and 2852 hits in 576 games. The 9th overall selection has really shown what he can do defensively, and it is hard to move a player like this lower on the list when he is an absolute beast. 4. Oskar Lindbergh And now we reach the first goalie on the list after 20 other picks. Oscar was picked 4thoverall, right where he should’ve been, it’s hard to move him away for what he has provided for the last 5 seasons. Yes, it is hard to compare goalies with players, but when goaltenders are this consistent, it only makes sense to have them high. Oscar had his first 2 seasons a bit lower than he’d like but fixed himself in the next 5 seasons. Over 7 seasons and 450 games played, Oscar averaged 0.921 save percentage, and 2.79 goals against average. His 214-187-42 record might be meh, but from a mediocre Toronto team he was on for most of his career, that can happen. I always find it hard to judge goalies on wins as hockey is a team sport, but the rest of his stats are amazing, so I think this 4th overall pick is fair. 3. Hari Singh Nalwa Hari was picked 10thoverall making him one of the biggest steals in the draft, this is because he is a defense putting up better points than most other players. Hari has 504 games under his belt, with 531 points, 737 hits, and 1175 blocked shots. When he is one of the top defensive point producers every season and can play good defensively too, it is hard to say anything bad about his game, he is one of the best players out of this draft. 2. Brendan Marner Oh this might be controversial, and maybe even bias I know, but I think its fair, just hear me out. Brendan Marner was picked 21st overall and had a slow start to his career. He has been one of Warsaws top contributors since he started playing there with only 432 games played, he has 579 points and 1371 hits. This means he’s played less than anyone in my top 12, but only has less points than only 3 people on this entire list, and all of them are in the top 8. In fact, not one person on this list has hit 100+ points in at least 4 seasons in the VHL, Marner did. He can also lay you down with his crazy his in such little game sample size. If Marner was VHL ready back in season 80, or 81, this might not have been a controversial pick, other than me being the one writing this… But yeah I would consider this the biggest hit in the draft, picked 21stoverall with this amazing career. 1. Xavier Booberry I would be shocked is Booberry was not number one in other lists, the goaltender is just too good. Booberry was picked 1stoverall, keeping him right where he belongs with his 8 seasons, 456 games played, 0.925 save percentage, and 2.68 goals against average. He has a 240-163-41 which is quite good as well. It is also worth mentioning that he had only 1 bad seasons as his rookie year with an 0.909 save percentage, and his next season was only okay considering what he did the rest of his career.
