  1. I'd like to apply, but only if the trivia answers are in the mod discord channel.
  2. John Jameson Junior Review Age: 19 (Born: March 3rd, 1740) BOP: Dublin, Ireland (Despite reports of Alloa, Scotland) Position: Center/Right Wing Height/Weight: 6'3"/215lb VHLM Team(s): San Diego Marlins and Philadelphia Reapers VHLE Team: Oslo Storm John Jameson was described as a slow skater with a heavy shot who lacked hockey IQ and would likely flail in the VHLM for a few seasons before being cut. After signing a one season contract with San Diego, GM @jacobcarson877 saw potential in the young forward's game. After joining the Marlins locker room, Jameson noted an enthusiasm he hadn't experienced with any team before. But also noted a disturbing lack of Irish Whiskey. San Diego didn't particularly have a ton of players and thus the team was fighting for their lives on most nights, but they we're a tight group and still had great chemistry on the ice. Jameson showed a high tolerance for shots and the willingness to take them. Jameson scored 17 goals in 29 games for San Diego before being traded to Philadelphia where GM @Masu Chan was hoping to cover up the other issues in Jameson's game with a stacked line up. After being traded to Philadelphia Jameson continued to show great goal scoring poise with 28 goals in 43 games to give him 45 goals on the season. He also showed improved on ice vision and hockey IQ, actually recording more assists than goals with Philadelphia as well as a plus 24 rating. Scouts started to take notice but still questioned his skating as he appeared to be hunched over at the end of nearly every shift and had issues keeping up with the play during transition up and down the ice. VHLM Stats 72GP 45G 52A 97P +15 419SHT 34PIM 137HIT 38SB 7GWG 8PPG 1SHG After an impressive season offensively in the VHLM, Jameson caught the eye of scouts ahead of the Season 85 VHL Draft. Most pundits expected Jameson to be a mid 1st round pick with quite a few goalies showing more promise. But most mock drafts still had him going in the top 5 as goalies are not in high demand league wide at the moment. Some experts even had Jameson going 1st overall to Vancouver due to the connection with now GM Frank Chadwick. The night before the draft Prague GM @Acydburn did a last minute interview with Jameson to check his interest in joining Prague. Jameson who preferred to stay in Europe after finding the transition to North America quite difficult, was ecstatic to hear Prague had interest in making him the 2nd overall selection. Since then Jameson has been out to prove the doubters wrong and currently leads the VHLE in both goals and assists. After seeing the faith placed in Jameson by Acyd, Oslo GM @JB123 decided to one up him and make him the first Irish born player drafted 1st overall. I think JB doesn't regret this as Jameson has delivered both on and off the ice for the team, as Oslo looks ahead to the playoffs sitting a top the VHLE standings. The decision to stay in the VHLE as opposed to moving straight up to the VHL was likely the best path for Jameson has he has shown improved skating as well as playmaking and defensive awareness. Without jinxing the player he should be in contention for top rookie in Season 86.

  4. @Enorama can you try clone stamping the toyota logo away and putting a dark grey layer on lighten over the whole thing. Adjusting the opacity to what looks best?
  5. Vancouver's a 10. But the back up games are correct.
  6. Can you stop beating Vancouver.
  7. Oct. 2nd 2022, Vancouver B.C. The Vancouver Wolves currently sit a top the North American Conference standings ahead of tomorrow's trade deadline. Even though they do have more games played then teams trailing them, namely the D.C. Dragons. Brandt Fuhr @Tate has started all 51 games for the Wolves this season, so despite an easier schedule down the stretch Vancouver still needs 8 back up starts out of the remaining 21 games. So we'll see if they can hang on to that top spot. Fuhr has been one of if not the best goalie this season, and will without a doubt be the teams choice for the Dustin Funk Trophy. Vancouver also boasts 3 of the top 10 scorers in the league with Nico Pearce @Spartan , Alexandre Leduc @Lemorse7 and Anze Miklavz @kelvi as well as their 3 other forwards all being rookies @dogwoodmaple, @Greg_Di and @Otaznik. The rookies have had difficulties getting on the score sheet playing alongside players with twice their tpe but next season will be their time to take the reigns as Miklavz will be retiring and Pearce is a pending FA who may or may not return. Being a rookie in the VHL is a bit of a two edge sword as often you either have a poor season statistically but the team does well or you have a great season statistically but your team is in the draft lottery. Luckily for Vancouver all the rookies understand the process and are valuing team success over individual accolades at this stage in their careers. On defense, which VSN ranked #1 in the entire league. It's a pretty even group with all players having similar builds, Cheese @a_Ferk and Powers @JB123 are both hovering around a point per game and Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito and Power @Tape-to-Tape have both done exceptionally in tougher defense match ups. The main reason this seasons trade deadline will be quiet in Vancouver is there being no urgency to improve as the heavy lifting was done in the off-season and the team really only has one or two spots to fill at forward this coming off-season. @Xflexz MacElroy will be making his debut next season taking over from Nathan Powers as he rides off into the sunset.

  9. I'm definitely still guilty of this. But we have to understand people have lives and are doing sims everyday. My post was more satire for @Achilles but apparently it came off as rude.
  10. Congrats @Enorama
  11. @Achilles you've been here 5 minutes and you're already choosing violence.

  14. 1. Holly cow have things changed in Vancouver after a very average 12-12-1 record last week the team is now 24-12-3 after today’s game. What has changed and do think the team is this good? Pearce back on the second line has really re-ignited tye scoring. Despite the OT loss to NY today, I think we're on tye right track. How good are we? Lets find out. 2. Nico Pearce @Spartan now leads the league with 60 pts but we should also mention we have three players in the top 10 of league scoring with Alexandre Leduc @Lemorse7 (52pts) and Anze Miklavz @kelvi(51pts). Do you expect that these three can maintain the offense for the team? I hope they can if they're all top 10 in league scoring at seasons end then we'll be one of the top teams in the league. 3. Brandt Fuhr @Tate current leads the league in wins with 24 and is tied for second in the league with 2.37 goals against average. What does it mean to play in front of a solid, consistent goaltender every game? He's been our most consistent player all season. The cornerstone of this franchise. 4. The Power defenders, Nathan Powers and Wattson Power; are currently tied on the team for the most blocked shots at 87. What gift should Fuhr @Tate buy these two at Christmas time this season for lay their bodies on the line to aid him? I think it's been a team effort, our defense is one of the deepest in the league and well Fuhr is Fuhr. 5. After another incident at the Vancouver arena the other day involving snakes, what animal are you the most afraid of and why? Rats, probably because of the black plague. 6. Last question already? Maybe a riddle or a fill in the statement question? Hum, Lets go with a fillin the blank question as I am not feeling riddles today: Vancouver will continue to win if - the offense can continue it's recent run. If the offense finds consistency we're one of the top teams in the league.

  16. Young eagles take time to soar. I believe!
  17. Vancouver Wolves GM Frank willl be returning home from a scouting trip in Cuba, despite there being no hockey games in Cuba. Word is he was checking the quality of pina colada and cuba libre. Due to the teams current up and down season Frank has decided to return home and attempt to steer the ship back into the playoff picture. Since beginning the season 4-2-1 the wolves have gone 6-9 since, which is not nice by the way. With half their forwards being rookies it was inevitable for the team to go through growing pains. But after the off season additions, expectations are high and they should be. The coaching staff may have to continue tinkering their lines and adjusting their strategies on the fly to find the right mix. The Wolves currently have lost 8 games by only 1 goal, so it may be luck or crappy GMing if anything. The moral remains high in the LR and the veterans are keeping everyone even keeled. "I think the goal right now is just to get a few winning streaks strung together, too many times we're winning one then losing two. We just need to gain our confidence and build off that." - Frank was quoted before boarding his flight to Vancouver.
  18. Congrats @Beketov
  19. Dogwood is a wolf at heart.
