actually you made it look like you were the asshole, but go off

Thank you for the love! Excited to keep at it

Yeah tbf that wasn't a super simple question to answer if you aren't the kind of person who already thinks about "life hacks"

While I do appreciate the support, me working for VSN probably shouldn't be a part of this conversation in the sense that if it's interfering with my ability to complete AGM duties then I should resign from one or the other; the league doesn't need people doing two jobs half-assed, when there are more than enough people interested in learning management. That being said, whether or not the level at which I was performing my duties constitutes being half-assed could be up for debate haha.

Oh trust me, we all know what your style is.

To be clear, I was planning on stepping down sometime in the next couple of seasons; this wasn't completely a spur of the moment decision.

@jRuutu feel free to ping me next time you want to talk shit. If you have a problem with how things are being run, there are productive ways about raising concerns that don't insult and demean people. I personally welcome critique, and I understand there are legitimate criticisms about how things have been going recently. However, a few points to make about your call outs, just to clarify a few things for you, to provide some nuance in your understanding. Probably somewhat valid; we haven't been completely on top of every single event in the sim, and I am sure there are teams with more active GMs. Of course, people do have lives outside of the VHL that require some amount of commitment, but you are right that we haven't been as active as possible. Sometimes there aren't significant tweaks to be made. Sometimes you have to let it roll. That being said, its fair to say there should have been more changes or at least reactions to the events earlier in the season. The backup has started 2 games this season out of 25. Once against Prague, once against Warsaw. Neither of those were good games to play the backup. I'm not sure if that was a mistake in the lines or an oversight, but yes that was not the right thing to do. However; I'm not sure I would say that "backup games with the bot are thrown in almost randomly" implying that we are just chucking multiple bot games willy-nilly is an accurate take. Not going to discuss contracts, as I have never been involved in offering/negotiating them as AGM. Regardless, there is a lot of time left in the season to figure out contracts. This one is on me; obviously it's part of my role as AGM to post regular press conferences. Over the last 4 months, I have posted 9 press conferences; just over half of what you would expect for one PC a week (about 17 weeks). I'm obviously not infallible, but that isn't completely terrible either. And more to the point, you are encouraged to take initiative and come up with press conferences yourself; after all, providing team PC's technically isn't a requirement; its an optional task for TPE. In fact, you filled in for me in a recent week, a fact which I thanked you for. And the way you respond, apparently, is to then follow that up with "the questions are shit"? First of all, shit by what metric? Please, inform me how much you care about the quality of the VHL's press conferences. Do you think they aren't focused enough on league events? Poorly written? Are they not in character enough to suit your kind of preferred VHL role play? Any of those could be fair points, but you refuse to make them in your post. Instead we get your lovely turn of phrase: "the questions are shit." At least come to the table with a legitimate issue. Valid. We have had internal talks about it, but haven't reached a conclusion; something that should have been done already. Don't worry, you'll be free of me at least soon enough. Because you really care about the health of other team's cap, rather than just trying to come up with more issues that are, in your mind, being caused by us? In reality this is a nonissue; players always sign for minimum, there either will be space or there won't be. Players are encouraged to find whatever teams have space in free agency, and the league officials with raise cap if necessary. If you don't think there is a lot of competition, why not apply? If you don't like how a team is being run, why not be a GM yourself? Or do you only want to acknowledge problems without coming up with solutions? You aren't just a player. You were one of my players. That means you are the perfect person to say something when you see an issue. If you notice a problem, try to be a part of the solution. I really appreciated you voicing your concerns about the lack of PC questions initially, though your phrasing of calling us "lazy fucks" could have been a bit more constructive. I have never been unapproachable; I welcome players under me and anyone in the VHL to reach out with concerns, which is something I pride myself on. Ask anyone who works with me at VSN, or a number of players I have helped manage, and while there may be some issues that people have had with me, being unapproachable isn't one of them. So, what's the reason for bringing everything up in such a manner? At the end of the day, toxic is as toxic does. You bring things up like this because you are an antagonistic person. You either enjoy making people's days worse, or you just have a lot of anger in your life that you are using the VHL as an outlet. I wouldn't recommend it, therapy is usually a better place for that. You have a lot of valid points. I know that I'm not the only GM in this team, so I'm speaking specifically from my perspective here, but I needed to be better. The VHL deserves users who are more dedicated to management than I have been, so jRuutu, you are going to achieve your goal. Effective immediately, I'm resigning from my post as Helsinki AGM. I'm tired of dealing with you, being demeaned and berated by you, and to be quite honest, I'm just tired of being involved in management as I have for the better part of two and a half years. I had a good run, and I apologize to my team and fellow manager in @Rayzor_7 that I'm dropping like this, but you did one thing right, and that is make me realize that it's time for me to step down. I sincerely hope that Helsinki can turn this season around, because we do have the talent. There are a lot of good members in this squad who I care about, and want to succeed. Good luck Titans

1) What is your favorite life hack? 2) Do you have any major VHL regrets? 3) What one user in the VHL have you never been on a team with but would love to be? 4) Are there more wheels or doors on Earth? 5) What is your favorite geometric shape, and why? 6) Is the VHL your primary sim league? If not, what league is? If it is, what other leagues are you active in or have been wanting to try?

Yeah I really liked reading through that article. I certainly disagreed with a few points, and think that it points a little bit too much to "enlightend centrism" (the status quo is inherently a conservative position and benefits those in charge of the power structure) But overall I think it raises a lot of good points. Thanks for the share

Speaking as someone whose mother is currently in a wheelchair due to a degenerative disease, but at the onset of said disease had no obvious symptoms outside of being tired/having trouble standing, people need to be reminded of basic social etiquette more than you would think... common sense isn't so common.

BTW, the term you are probably looking for is performative activism. Giving activist actions a negative slant because they simply occur in an online space is ignoring how important online spaces are to our modern society. The medium doesn't matter, the intent behind the actions and your follow through does. So here's the deal: why does it matter? People should be free to champion whatever causes they want on social media. I don't particularly participate in a lot of solidarity posting, but I'm not particularly active on social media regardless. As far as what it is actually doing, awareness is always a positive thing. Like Jardy said If you are in the position where seeing LGBT+ flags or people changing pictures to rainbow colored backgrounds feels like an attack for you also not participating in those actions, then consider how much you have been able to benefit from the status quo your entire life, and now the bare minimum of societal pressure is being applied to force you into participating in a discussion that you previously had the privilege to ignore. Don't get me wrong, imo if anyone gives you shit for not actively participating in the so called "clicktivism" then they are probably being shitty themselves; but consider if they are critiquing you for your implied opposition or just because you aren't participating in their trend. You can be an ally without participating in social media trends. Simultaneously, you can fail to be an ally despite participating in such performative activism (read: giant corporations deciding to flip their stance on LGBT+ issues simply because it helps them turn a profit nowadays). I will admit for certain types of issues I feel less strongly about this, as the conflict in Ukraine is a not a social issue exactly, and social issues are where social media trends can actually have a bigger impact imo, but at the end of the day why does it matter if other people want to show their support for an issue that they deem important? My biggest issue with this post and the discussion had here is that while I agree that purely performative activism is annoying or even potentially harmful, deeming all displays of online support as such invalidates those issues in their entirety. One final comment as food for thought; consider how, in unfortunately many places in the world, showing public (IRL) displays of support for LGBT+ people will quite literally result in personal harm or physical violence towards the activist. If that doesn't show you why online support has value, then I don't know what to say. EDIT: Note, above the "you" I'm using is in general terms. Not really directing these comments at anyone in particular, more providing a general counterpoint.

1. What is your goal for the week? 2. Do you think its more important to receive individual or team awards? 3. What is your player's number (or the number you usually wear) and how did you choose it? 4. Would you rather wear only white or only black for the rest of your life? 5. What is your favorite meal you ate over the last week? 6. What is your greatest critique about the appearance of your country's currency?

Top Executive Building a team to compete in this league is a chess match between TPE considerations, VHL GMs hungry for prospects, and the competitive windows of your fellow franchises. Learning the skills to build a competitive roster is a difficult process, and one which takes decades of experience to truly master. Our winner of this award built their team to compete, and compete again, and again. Reaching the finals for the third time in as many seasons, the Rome Gladiators were headed by a pro. Congratulations, with 4 votes, to @InstantRockstar , your Top Executive of Season 82! Runners Up: BarzalGoat (2), Frostbeard (2) -

Regular Season MVP Always a contentious award, this goes to the most valuable player of the regular season. This season was no different, as many players laid claim to the crown, but only one will be rewarded. They’ve been mentioned before in this award show for their fantastic 49 goals and 101 points, both league leading, but are truly well rounded as they maintained a +23 on the season, complete with 72 hits and 21 shots blocked. Congratulations, with 4 votes, to Ronan Lavelle, your Regular Season MVP of Season 82! @Arce Runners Up: Pekko Viitanen (3), Artair McCloud (1) Finally, Top Executive!
