When you play in Miami life is already a vacation. Year round the weather is amazing, the beaches are endless and liquor every where you go. It takes incredible discipline for the players to focus on the season at hand when there is so much temptation all around them. GM Kris Rice has been so impressed with this group that he decided they were deserved of a mid season reward. When Rice came to Miami to manage the Miami Marauders he was in heaven. He loved the water and would spend all his spare time on the beaches. As he started getting paid for his duties as a GM his first major purchase was a Yacht. Living every day he could out on the water was his dream. It was almost a second office of his where he conducted many talks with fellow GMs when they came to town. So why not take the team on a trip with his Yacht and travel along the Gulf of Mexico. Practices were shut down for the weekend and the squad loaded onto the yacht and they started their journey along the coast. Over the couple days sailing along the coast the team really let loose. They forgot about hockey and just started bonding. Napoleon Bonaparte @CptSquall and Alexander the Great @Shiny felt right at home. They stood at the head of the ship discussing the voyage as if they were off to conquer their next piece of land. The Phoenix Dawson @Toastand AGM Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgersplayed beer bong on the top deck reminiscing over the past season they once played together and plotting ways to reunite in the VHL. Then you have the young guns Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny and Russel Dixon @Rjdixon01 three beers deep passed out under the dining room table. They sailed there way all around the Gulf and docked in Cancun. They spent the night on the town conquering all things there were to do in Cancun but that’s a story for another time. The next morning they crawled their asses back to yacht to begin their voyage back home. The ride back was quiet and peaceful. The team recovered from a weekend of partying and fun. They all talked about the future and what it held for them in the VHL. Would they be able to play together? What happens if they were division rivals? It didn’t matter, they have plenty of hockey left to play this season and the focus is on back on the here and now. They made it back to Miami and as everyone was offloading GM Rice noticed they were missing a couple people. After they did a head count they realized they were missing Kuba-Fleury @Kuba-Fleuryand Jere Suominen @Fredoushka8!!! Rice had no reception being out on the water but once he turned his phone on he had 43 missed calls from a random Mexican phone number. 10 voicemails from two gentlemen who could barely speak a lick of English claiming to be stuck in a Mexican jail. Rice though to himself for a minute, shrugged his shoulders and said “Well Atleast we have ClapbombsRUs @ClapbombsRusand newly signed defender Zeedayno Chara @Jubis!” (Kidding Ofcourse hehehe) Word count: 528

1. I would be really happy. I’d be close to a 100 point season to finish out my players career. 2. Improvement from within. As long as everyone is doing their part earning TPE I think we will be strong. 3. I would like Lahtinens confidence. He knows he’s good and sometimes I like that in my self. 4. I would add another Canadian team the NA division maybe Montreal or Winnipeg. If not Canadian I would go Colorado. In the European division I would Go Berlin or Zurich. 5. Calgary. It’s where I started and I was a part of turning that franchise around from most hated in the league to a place where people like to play. 6. There is always movement so yes. From Moscow? I think we sit pretty where we are at.

Welcome everyone! It is time to start our S76 entry of the VHL Chess Tournament. All games will be played on chess.com or the chess.com app. Forum only users please post your username below for group members to add you. Anyone who uses discord there will be a channel to display usernames in the server. 2. Games will EITHER be 10 minute Rapid Game, 30 minute or a 24 hour daily. This worked well last season and allows the ability for our international players to be able to participate. The 24 hour games go on the honor system. If you commit to this mode please make sure to take your turn. Same as last season, you should play "unranked games" and decide prior to the start of your game whether or not "takebacks" will be allowed. 3. Each group will play in a round robin which will lead into the playoff rounds. 4. Each player in each group will play each other 2 times. (You can play as many exhibition ones as you'd like.) Please limit it to one game per group member per day. 5. Standings will be determined on a point system. A win is 1 points, a draw .5 and a loss is 0. 6. Playoff Format is as follows: The top 3 teams of each group move into the playoffs. Top seed gets a bye through the first round. Group A 2nd vs. Group B 3rd and Group B 2nd vs Group A 3rd. I will have an actual bracket made once playoffs start. It will be single elimination until we have crowned a champion. 7. Be a good sport, be respectful to one another and have fun! Loose Ends: -Once you have completed a game you will post the results in the discord servers results channel. For forum only users please post your results below. -I will tally up all the results and post the final standings at the end of the round robin.
