I am putting my name in the ring to apply for this GM position. I have gained a lot of experience in my first season as an Assistant GM. My GM has taught me so much in such a short period of time. My speciality is player retention, I focused a lot during this first season on building relationships and keeping players around even though we were on a losing team. Activity in the LR is a big deal for me and I would create a fun and active atmosphere in the Houston LR. I have been involved in the draft process and advised in trades that Yukon has made over the last season. To add to this I also was a GM in the most recent World Junior Championships. Welcome back to the 2nd edition of my VHLM Player Highlights. I will be shining a spotlight on VHLM players that don’t see enough attention. This week I am turning my attention to @Spaz Jared Spaz. Spaz is a well rounded scoring winger who just finished his tenure with the Philadelphia Reapers. The Reapers were swept in the first round by the Houston Bulls and now Jared will be looking to make the move up to Helsinki in the VHL next season! He spent two seasons in the VHLM between three teams. He signed as a waiver with Mississauga and the was moved to the Yukon in S69. He was then drafted by Philadelphia where he had a break out season scoring 77 points in 72 games. Of those points he showed off his ability to score goals with 41. Where Jared shines however is off the ice. He is a popular member in any locker room that he has been a part of and his training off the ice is second to none! It was a short career in the VHLM but if Jared Spaz continues to work hard and remain active I have no doubt he is going to be a key piece for Helsinki if they end up becoming a serious contender. Yukon Rush Press Conference week ending on March 15 2020 1. We have made it to the VHL and VHLM finals. In the VHLM it’ll be the Minnesota Storm vs. Ottawa Lynx. Who do you predict wins and in how many games? 2. The VHL will have the Calgary Wranglers vs. Moscow Menace. The series is tied 1-1 after the first sim. Who will win this series and in how many games? 3. The offseason can be a long period of time for teams who don’t make the playoffs or are eliminated early. Do you have any suggestions on what the league could do to keep players engaged during this down time? 4. The Rush have 14 picks for the upcoming draft including the 2nd overall pick. Who should they take with that pick? Or should they look at moving down in the draft to acquire more picks? Get to know you questions of the week! 5. On Tuesday I am going to see The Glorious Sons in concert for the third time, in May I’m going to see Jimmy Eat World for the first time! Do you like going to concerts or have you ever been to one? Who have you seen in concert or who would you like to see? 6. What is/was your favourite subject in school and why? Which one did like the least?

I am applying for any country available, my preferences would be Europe or Mercenaries. I have experience in GMing a World Junior Championship team as well as a seasons experience as a VHLM Assistant GM. I would love the opportunity to be able to GM a World Cup team!

Yukon Rush Press Conference ending March 8 2020 1. The VHLM regular season has ended. How do you feel your season went from a personal stand point? 2. Did Yukon making it into the playoffs surprise you at all? 3. The playoffs are underway and Yukon was swept in the first round by the Marlins. Was this to be expected or are you disappointed they didn’t do better? 4. A lot of our alumni have moved on to the second round of the playoffs. Welcome to what is now going to be my weekly segment on highlighting players throughout the VHLM. I will take a minute to breakdown how their season has gone and what kind of player they are on and off the ice.The first player that I will be highlight is Alex Armstrong @dylanjj37. Alex Armstrong is a two way defensemen who plays on the number one team in the VHLM the Minnesota Storm. He slots in on their top defensive pair along side superstar D-man Danny Deyeeto. Armstrong produced 79 points in 72 games but was pretty average in point production on a star studded roster. Alex Armstrong’s fault is his off ice commitment to getting better. He does the bare minimum to get by but doesn’t go the extra mile to become an elite defender. Where Armstrong shines is in the locker room. He has a strong locker room personality and is always around socializing with the boys. He even keeps strong contact with teammates from his previous teams. He’s loved by his teammates but still needs to work on his commitment to becoming a better player on the ice. Thank you for tuning in this week for this highlight on Alex Armstrong.
