Can we please have the direct links to our games back in the LRs? This extra step of going through this thread is a real hassle as I sort through to find the Dragons' games. And apart from this plea for returning to the way it was, I am not at all tempted to be more active in interacting on the website. Please give us back what we once had. Please don't take functionality away. Please. Please.

1. We've had a wonky schedule, where we just haven't been playing a lot of games. What do you think we did to piss off the schedule maker? Guy once put on his right skate before his left as is his custom. 2. Has this lack of playing time affected you at all? Nah, it's fine. We hang pretty much with everyone with games in hand and we are golden. 3. The Dragons have been so hot. What's our key to success? Teamwork and heart, baby! 4. Who is our early-season MVP? Good luck picking just one. Groovy Dood - Man just keeps piling on the points! 5. Which offseason move has made the biggest impact on our game? Huh? I'm supposed to watch offseason moves? 6. How's life this week? Pretty rough. My town has been designated a Yellow Zone Covid Hot Spot and my church's in-person services are going to be shut down. Back to Zoom. Ugh.

Ok, I’ve gotten a little older and I’m not the latest, greatest prospect out of some part of the former Soviet empire, but I’m pretty steamed that I wasn’t picked to represent Europe in the World Cup. I guess Western Europe didn’t need a lousy 41 goal scoring winger. Those are a dime a dozen these days. 76 points in S74 is no qualification for making his nation’s regional team so he’s thrown on the scrap heap of the Mercenaries. Well, looks like I’m not the only roster error made in putting this team together. The Mercs have emerged from the medal round in 2nd place with a tally of 6-3-1. Not bad for a band of has-beens unwanted by their nation’s regional team. Oh, and on the way to that record, yours truly scored a 5th highest amount of goals in the round robin. Where did Western Europe land without Lesieur? Dead last – that’s where. But let’s end this on a positive shall we? If my new team, Team Mercenary, doesn’t get to the finals, I’ll positively be rooting for Western Europe to come in dead last in the medal round too. Too old for this league? I don’t think so, Team Western Europe!

OffSeason OffTopic 2.0 1. What are you doing in your offseason? Just chilling with the family in France. 2. What are you expecting for your point totals this year? 70 points - 40 goals + 30 assists 3. Do you have any other goals for this upcoming season? Win in the damn playoffs and take some hardware home for the fans of D.C. 4. How do you think we did at the draft? Not sure. Did not really follow the draft. 5. Who is your sleeper pick for this coming season? Not sure it's a sleeper at this point. But Wolski as top 3 goalie. 6. How are you doing through this pandemic? Ok, I guess. Getting really beaten down by people not taking things seriously and getting others sick though.

OffSeason OffTopic 1. What is your favorite sports besides hockey? Baseball, hands down. Actually is my all-time favorite. 2. What is your favorite place to vacation? Tough one. I love to travel and see new places so don't often go back to the same place very often. But I'll say Wales. 3. What is your favorite TV Show? Have not watched a TV show live (not on Netflix) forever. Parks and Rec? 4. What is your favorite movie? Notting Hill 5. What teammate or player in the league will you see in the offseason the most? I always go back to France in the off-season to see family so I rarely see other players. 6. What part of next season are you looking forward to the most? Winning the championship for the DC fans and for the whole organization.

I guess no one wanted a 41 goal scorer on their squad? Yes, a little depreciation, but ... Let's go get 'em!

Post Playoff Questions: 1. How do you feel after being eliminated from playoffs? Huh? Great, super, more free time? Absolutely awful, is the answer. 2. What is the biggest thing we need to change going into next season? What I hate, but know is true is that I need to not disappear from the goal scoring sheet when playoff time comes. It's great to have others step up and we need that, but Benny and I scored 40+ goals each in the regular season. We need to do that and I failed. 3. What team do you think will win the championship now that DC is eliminated? Couldn't care less. It's DC or some other team and I don't care about some other team. 4. What was your favorite part of the playoff run? Making it into the playoffs. 5. With DCs first wave of players aging and starting to retire in the next couple of seasons, are these next two seasons important to win or are you looking towards the second wave of players? As one of those players on the edge of retirement, of course I think it's important to win. When is it not important to win? 6. What are your offseason plans? First, beat myself up for disappearing from the playoff scoring sheet - at least in terms of goals. Second, work on my stick work and shot accuracy. Third, relax - a little.

1. Really good! Loved hitting 40+ goals milestone with Graves and notching the highest Shot % on the team. 2. I can think of nothing but the Cup. 3. Yes, I think so. We might have hoped for more wins, but our main expectation was the playoffs and here we are. 4. Always put your left skate on first. At least, I do. 5. Sure and absolutely. It's an obligation for every Dragon no matter how bad it might look though. 6 I never watch TV live. There are some TV shows I watch via Netflix, but mostly movies.

1. Who's the hardest working player on the team? I like to think Lesieur is. lol 2. Who's your favourite teammate? Now, I'll say Wolski. Dude does work hard and it's nice to have a great goalie. 3. Any things you'd like to improve on your game? More goals! 4. What is your favourite drink? Not very French, but still have to say a Gin & Tonic. 5. Do you like pumpkin pie (apparently I'm the only one in my family so I need some assurances here)? Love it! Best part of Thanksgiving in the U.S. 6. How are you, physically and mentally, coping with the pandemic? It's wearing emotionally and spiritually. Physically, I'm fine.

Do you have any superstitions before a game? I don't look at it as a superstition, but I always put my left skate on before my right, but tie up my right skate before my left. Doesn't everyone do that? 4. Who will be our breakout star this season? Doesn't it have to be leFlamant? 5. Any thoughts on who the winner is of the draft? Can't compare as I never look at the results for other teams. 6. What do you think this team is lacking? A violin playing goat.

1. Did you believe that Seattle would win it all again this season, why or why not? Don't really follow the rest of the league. My focus is squarely on the Dragons. 2. DC added Lance Flowers recently. How big of an impact will he have in the upcoming season? Huge! Big tough defenseman who can also score? Yes, please! 3. What do you think will be the driving force of this Dragons team to get on top next season? A nice balanced mix of forwards, defenseman and an even better goalie performance. 4. Which team do you think was the most successful on draft day? Have to be honest. Don't really follow the draft. I'd bet on DC though. 5. Who do you believe will be the top teams next season? The Dragons and some other team or two. 6. Which FA signing so far do you think will make the biggest impact? To be honest, not sure who the big FAs were. But I'm eager to get back on the ice.

1. The Dragons were able to qualify for playoffs for upsetting Vancouver in the play-in series. What was the best part of that series to you? Winning and making the playoffs. lol 2. We are down in the series to Seattle right now, is there still hope when down 3-1? I'm answering after the fact, but yes. There is always hope. Almost did it. 3. What is your favorite moment of the playoffs so far this season? Getting an assist on Mikko's last goal as a Dragon in game 6 to force game 7. 4. Who has the best playoff beard? Got to be Wolski. 5. Who has the worst playoff beard? Lesieur - peach fuzz. 6. What does this year's playoffs mean for your player personally? How important is success? Lesieur wants to win. He can live with a loss if we played our best and he doesn't personally let down the team. This one was very hard as Guy did not come up clutch in game 7 including the two OTs. Will have scores to settle next season.

1. After the big push mid-season, does DC have what it takes to make playoffs? Absolutely! Not only do we have the talent; we have the grit to do this. 2. If we do, what kind of shot do we have when we get there? We get it, we will do well. Short series and we we start getting on a roll there's no telling what will happen. 3. If we don't, what changes might we expect in the off-season? I leave that to better minds than mine. 4. Overall I think we all have been realistic and cool-headed during these time; has your player had any on/off ice moments where they showed frustration? Lesieur does not show frustration. He internalizes and uses any issue with his own performance as fuel to work harder. 5. If you could name a Rollercoaster Ride after the season we are having, what would it be? Never say die! 6. Captain Mikko Aaltonen @GRZ has announced his retirement following this season. What is your favorite memory for this DC Dragons legend? Skating off the ice after another #1 star performance and the crowd chanting his name. He tries to duck into the LR and deflect praise for himself. The crowd won't have it. He comes back out and takes the ice again ever so briefly and just gives an almost imperceptible nod of acknowledgment and skates back off. The crowd really goes nuts, but Mikko already has his mind on the next game.

1. Who would be the best VHL Member to be stuck in a bubble with? Wolski - cool under pressure. 2. Who would be the worst VHL Member to be stuck in a bubble with? Lesieur - bit full of himself at times. 3. DC is gonna have a Mario Kart Tournament.. Who wins and with what character? Lesieur - Mario. Super competitive and loves the mainliner. 4. VHL Lets you bring one family member in the bubble, who you bringing? Gotta be mom, but wish could bring dad too. 5. If the VHL was in a bubble, where would the host city be? International a possibility.. Warszawa - seems calm there now. 6. What would be the hardest part of playing out the season + playoffs in a bubble for a full VHL season? Not having fans to react to a brilliant break-away!

1. We recently beat LA and NY, then just lost 2 in a row tonight to London and Davos. What do you think the issue is? Missing Guy Lesieur. lol 2. Which DC Dragons forward is impressing you the most so far this season? Graves is definitely having a fine year. 3. Which DC Dragons defenseman is impressing you the most so far this season? Flaten is definitely showing promise in his rookie season. 4. Is there a potential trade you would do, that you think would improve this team? Already done. Lesieur returns. lol 5. Is Stone Wolski the goalie of the future for this team? His VHL career has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far, despite improving every season. Definitely. Have every confidence in Stoney! 6. Which team has the best chance to win it all this season? A bold one here. I say, we make a run down the stretch. Get into the playoffs and play our best hockey ever to surprise the league.

London is great, but also good to be back in D.C. Hope I can end my career here.

(1) 26 games in, we are 6 points behind an even record, and 6 points behind the Malmo Nighthawks. Can we pass them and finish 3rd out of 4 in our division? Of course we can! As a very young team, we get proportionately better with each update. (2) How's the ambiance in the arena on game nights? Are fans pleased with our performances? Any sighting of hooligans? I think the fans are having fun. They know we come to play every night and the Londoners appreciate that. (3) Hypothetical situation: Our top player Guy Lesieur is blindsided, a real cheap shot. Who steps up and defends him? The whole team. That's who we are. (4) What food would you not recommend from everything that's available at our home stadium? The kidney pies. As a Frenchman, cannot recommend that sort of cuisine anytime, anywhere. (5) What would you have done with your life if you didn't become a professional hockey player? Maybe some kind of photographer. I love it. But I never got to be serious about anything other than hockey. (6) Rank melons from best to worst: cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon. Easy one!
