1. It's no secret that the start of this season has been .... bad. What is one optimistic take you can have on it (say something nice)? Guy Lesieur is shooting at a greater than 14% success rate. 2. Are you a superstitious player? Mildly-stitious player? Do you have any pre-game routines to help get our team out of this rut? Being a good Catholic boy, I like to cross myself three times before I put on my skates. 3. Some players on the team are beginning to ask whether we should try a rain dance to bring some goals and end our drought, do you think this is a good idea? Try it once. If it works, it clearly is mean to be. If it does not, abandon it forever. 4. Rookies get "messed with" or "hazed" all the time, are there any tricks in particular that you've played on leFlamant and/or Wolski that you'd like to share with the press? No, I like to keep all of our kidding around with the new guys out of the press. 5. Boris the Forest (95 hits) and Benny Graves (93 hits) have becoming two of the premier checkers in the league this year, since we all practice together, who hits harder? Haven't been hit by Forest yet (and I'd like to keep it that way), but Graves is a crusher. 6. We all know that every now and then it may be peanut butter jelly time, but is it possible to have just peanut butter time, or just jelly time? Which would you prefer to have on its own? Easy one. Peanut butter. I've done it many times. Jelly is just too sickeningly sweet. I usually don't even like it mixed with PB or on a scone.

1. Wolski has had a couple of rough outings in the early going here, what do you say to him to help keep his head up? Dude, the whole team is counting on you. Pull your head out! lol Nah, not really. "Look man, every one goes through rough patches. You've got the talent. Just keep working and the puck will start bouncing your way - into your glove. 2. Have you had the chance to represent your country at the world cup? If not, would going mean a lot to you? Yes, I have and it did mean a lot to me to play for France in the coalition team. 3. Would you ever want to hold a league job? Which one? Thought about being an updater for a while, but with changes in free time, I'm probably good where I am. 4. What's the most surprising part about the season so far? That we are not undefeated. 5. Lesieur has come flying out of the gate, is this his coming out party or just a hot streak? I've been having progressively good seasons and had over 30 goals last year. Had a hot start last year too. Not sure this is a surprising thing at this point, but will it all continue at this pace? Cannot say. But I will say I will give it my all! 6. Beach vacation or camping in the forest? Love the beach and live just a couple of miles away right now, but I might prefer camping in the forest for a vacation.

1. Do you think that DC did well in the draft? Did not really follow the draft, but I have every confidence in the drafting ability of our GMs. 2. What are you doing to help us take the next step? Just trying to keep working on the ice. Especially concentrating on my passing now. 3. What have you been doing in the offseason? Well, I do keep working on ice, but not as much as when training camp comes along. Mostly kicking back and spending time with family in France. 4. Who is your favourite player thats not on this team? I believe this has been asked before and my answer is the same. For me, there are no other teams than the Dragons. 5. Who is your favourite team in the VHLM? Still have a soft spot for Mexico City who drafted me and Las Vegas that traded for me. 6. Peanut butter or Nutella? Tough one. Both are classics. PB for more occasions, but nutella is a must for a dessert crêpe.

1. Who is your favourite player in this season's draft? Unfortunately, being back home in France for the off-season, it's hard to follow the draft. But I have every confidence that our GMs will kill it again. 2. Who needs to take the biggest step forward for us to be successful next year? I always feel like I have to work the hardest of anyone on the ice. I'll help any teammate I can, but it's my job to think about my improvement. 3. Which team do you think will be the most improved next season? I hope it would be us - the D.C. Dragons. I know that will be difficult having developed into such a solid team, but I still want us to outwork everyone. 4. Is Stone Wolski going to be a worthy replacement for JB Rift between the pipes? Absolutely! Every confidence in the world in our man, Wolski. 5. Who is your favourite teammate? I just so look up to Aaltonen. Superlative performance on the ice, but a rock solid leader and teammate in the LR, too. 6. Pie with ice cream or ice cream cake? Will pretty much take pie over any kind of cake - even one made of ice cream.

How heartbroken are you to lose out to Seattle? Not going to lie. It's a bummer to lose out in the first round especially since we are so much better than we were last year. But keeping the faith. Next year is the year of the Dragon. What do you think you could've done better? Well, Guy could have decided not to almost completely disappear in the playoffs after his best year in the league. What is your plans for the current offseason? Drink a lot. Nah, really, go back to France and spend time with the family. Clear my head and get ready for next season. Now that we're out, who do you think has the best shot of going for a cup? I figure if Seattle can beat us, they can beat pretty much anyone. Who impressed you the most in practice this year? Aaltonen. Dude is a bona fide superstar and never takes a practice off - gives it his all every time. Inspiring. What did this team lack, in your opinion? Superstar goal tending. Our guys are good, but they weren't all the way there yet this season. I think they are going to raise some eyebrows next season!

1. Who is your favourite player not on the DC Dragons? I do not recognize teams outside the Dragons. If you don't play in DC, I don't care about you. If I ever end up not playing for the Dragons, I retire. There is nothing but Dragons for Guy Lesieur. 2. The playoffs are coming up, how are you preparing for it? Eating a lot of cheetos and watching film of the opposing D-men. 3. What were your goals coming into this season? Improve on my prior season's performance. Win a championship for the fans of the District. 4. What are your goals going into the playoffs? Improve on my prior season's playoff performance. Win a championship for the fans of the District. 5. Are you prepared to sport a beard? Are you really asking? Are we not hockey players? 6. What is your favourite pet to have? There is no greater animal (humans included) than the noble dog.

I do not have time for the VHL. And yet, I am active in the VHL. Why? Because I love it. And if you are reading this, then you ought to give it a shot as well. You have almost nothing to lose except a little time and if you end up enjoying it as much as I do, you will thank yourself (and me) for giving it a try. So, why do I love it? Well, let’s face it – it all begins with hockey. What a great sport! If you don’t love hockey, you may join for the friends you’ll make, but I’d have to be honest and say that you can find other places to make friends around hobbies and pastimes that you are passionate about. But if you love hockey – even though we don’t have a visual simulation that you can watch streaming like in the PBE – you can absolutely see your player streaking down the wing, receiving a crisp pass and one-timing it into the back of the net for the game winning goal. Or you might see your defenseman delivering a bone-crushing hit that knocks the opponents’ winger on his keester and foils an otherwise promising rush up the ice. All this in your mind’s eye. And hockey, the sport, brings with it hockey, the culture, which bleeds into the culture of the VHL. Hockey is not primarily a sport filled with spoiled primadonnas. These guys bring it every night and work their guts out for the team. The team. Most of the guys and gals in the VHL have the same mentality. It’s about the team and they celebrate your success as much as their own. At least that’s the way it is in the D.C. Dragons LR. You could play in the SHL and I do play there as well, but one thing the VHL has over the SHL is the automation of the site. Man, updating is such a breeze as you plug it in to the on-site software. All the calculations are done for you and you can play around with how to apply your TPE with the greatest of ease. It’s neat, it’s clean, and it works. While we are on updating, another plus over every other league I’ve been in is that you are updated as you go in the VHL – no need to wait for Saturday or Sunday each week. Accomplish a 2 TPE point task and within a day or two, an updater will have checked it over and made it possible to apply. That’s pretty darn cool and it gives those with time and gumption an edge in games played later in the week. Your player has improved on Wednesday; theirs not until Monday of the next week. And lastly, it’s nice to have a league that is not so money based (in game money that is). Most of the others I’m in, you have to write reams of media or have 3 jobs to make enough to buy the equipment that will help you stay up with the other players. Here, you can work harder and get an edge, but it doesn’t leave the more casual player completely in the dust. For instance, this season, I often take the 4 TPE welfare instead of the 6 TPE media spot. But not this week! They want to double the results of my efforts by giving me 12 TPE and I’m going to take it! So, definitely give the VHL a try. I think you’ll love it.

1. Tight race for the Victory Cup. Which North American team wins it? Got to be the Dragons with a year end surge. 2. After a quiet season trade-wise last year, which mid-season trade surprised you the most this season? Frostbeard. Thought he was here for the duration. 3. Who wins at trivia night, former AGM @McWolf or current AGM @fonziGG? Current. No faith in those who leave. lol 4. Veteran dman Fish announced his retirement. Who do you think can fill that hole in the back end? No one can fill that hole. 5. Rumours of expansion abound seemingly nonstop in the VHL. Where would you put a VHL or VHLM team? Québec needs a team. 6. What's your favourite colour? Green.
