  1. Big logo bc: We have a change in captains! I think the big logo stands regardless of situation at this point now tbh. Every captaincy announcement is an exciting time. In case you missed it, our longtime captain David Rashford @Knight retired at the conclusion of S97 and subsequently had his jersey number retired over the offseason. It'll be difficult to replace him from a leadership perspective, but luckily we have some phenomenal people on the team including some longtime alternate captains who are ready to step up into the role. C - Jarmo Ruutu - @jRuutu Jarmo Ruutu has been a Moscow lifer, and a longtime alternate captain for the team. Ruutu is well known around the forums for his tongue-in-cheek content, holding back no punches and constantly finding creative ways to comment on his own player, Moscow, and the league as a whole. His way with words is somehow both grotesque and awe-inspiring, and his leadership will be certainly needed to replace the void left behind from Rashford. Also in his final season with Moscow, with retirement approaching at the conclusion of this season, we're excited to have kept another Moscow lifer around and can't wait to see this gritty bulldozer pave the path for Moscow in S98! A - Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage - @Grape It seems like Obuz will be an alternate forever, sadly. But his commitment to the team has been apparent, borderline on par with his commitment to anime girls and feet. Despite being a longtime defenseman, Obuz was willing to position swap to center for his final season before retirement to give the forward unit a boost and clear the way for the defensemen that played within his shadow, in Jillian Woods and now sophomore River Harrington. Another character in the locker room who somehow finds himself in the heads of opponents, Obuz brings the vibes and a ton of talent, which will be put to the test in his final season but first in his new position. A - Jillian Woods - @jacobcarson877 Our final but newest alternate is none other than Jillian Woods, the now de facto leader of the defense corps. Despite being saddled with a full and competitive defense room over the seasons, Woods has quickly become a top defenseman in the league with a Valiq and Funk trophy under his belt in just three seasons in the VHL. Now that he's ready to be unleashed as our top defenseman without the chains of being the 1B, both his leadership and play on the ice will be paramount to Moscow's success. He'll have a lot of work to do this season coaching up B-MOS D10 and newcomer Carson Tripp, but we're confident in his ability both on and off the ice! Please congratulate our captains!

  3. Personally think that's fine, we don't replicate the NHL in every aspect and having different perspectives makes for better award discussion. And farming forum content it appears.
  4. I was just replying to your comment about best player in the league not being the MVP. I pointed out that Slobo =/= Campbell, that's all.
  5. You can't say precedent and then list situations where it doesn't fit lmao. Dude. You won individual awards. You didn't get MVP. Seems like you've asked a lot of people and gotten explanations that you just don't like. It's not new to us, someone complains every season about not winning. I've given you my personal thoughts, whether you care for it or not is up to you. I don't have anything new to provide to you though, so just gonna leave my contributions here. Cheers man, hope you have more success with your player.
  6. Literally none of the recent MVPs in the last like 8 seasons (lazy to look through further) have been Slobo winners. If we wanted to combine the two, why have two awards? There's different criteria, that's why there's different winners and different rationale behind it.
  7. I don't know what you're quantifying this with, but using the only stat I can see TOR had 661 SBs and MAL had 662. Alright well you just don't agree with my personal rationale which is fine, but 6 others apparently agreed with me too and voted for Callahan.
  8. I mean if we followed your logic, a Moscow player would win it a lot more just because they're a top 3 player on the best regular season team. I wouldn't complain, but that's not really what the most valuable player entails. The best player will be recognized in the Slobo, the community vote. Star players on mid teams win sometimes because they've carried that mid team to a spot the team wouldn't have been in otherwise. We could have dropped one of our max cap players each season and still made playoffs, that's why Moscow players don't win it. If someone on Moscow wins, it's because they put up a performance that's considered carrying a team. Lovstrom didn't carry Malmo, he had a team of superstars in front of him as shown by the offensive strength of Malmo and the amount of balanced scoring across the roster that I mentioned before. It's also fairly well documented in league history that best player =/= MVP - I remembered Moscow being dominant in S76 and checked the MVP winner. Lahtinen tied for 1st with 121 points with 61 goals and lost to Andrew Su on Vancouver who also had 121 with just 47 goals but didn't have two other teammates above 100 points. MVP is just not Best Player, and given that Lovstrom won individual awards in other categories, he got his recognition. I don't know why there's so much focus on MVP specifically when the vote was close and Callahan had a phenomenal case for this season as well.
  9. You guys had 7 skaters with 80+ points, there wasn't really a "remove this piece and the team is shit" for your team. You could have run a rookie goalie and probably still been top 2/3 in the EU. Gunner lost to Summers in 94 which you say is fine. Bobandy in S95 had a big gap yes, but Lovstrom was just as strong for Malmo that season and we (I use it loosely, because I was also the one crossing off nominees who had a teammate perform equally as well in the discussion thread) generally don't nominate players who have a similarly strong MVP teammate candidate. If both Bobandy and Lovstrom were exceptional in S95, neither ended up on the ballot. I was also the first one to scratch off Rashford and Ruutu in S95 for the same reason. Callahan was pretty much the dominating force for Toronto without a good supporting cast beyond Machado (who apparently he didn't even play with for most of the season per someone's contribution to the BOG discussion) and Vidarsson's numbers were not great enough to be considered a fellow MVP candidate. Maybe some people could have argued for it, but it wasn't there. It was a tight vote in the end with the 7-6 and was the most discussed player award.
  10. What is in the future? For trivia whenever we ask people to find award winners it's always in the portal or forum HOF sections. I've never known anyone to be looking through award presentations unless someone's looking specifically at the voting or nominees, which wouldn't be in a final writeup post anyways.
  11. 1. As a rookie, and playing a new position, I think the expectation is to just learn from some superstars on the team and develop my skills. Production comes second, though it'd be nice to get at least a half point per game and net positive rating. 2. I'd probably say around 110 is the over/under, or I guess 110.5. The EU is weaker than it's been in the past, which is hard to fathom, but seems like the reality. Moscow and Davos should stack up a lot of free wins this season. 3. I'm not much of a podcaster, I'd just toss on an album or my monthly spotify playlist. 4. It'd be nice to have a tournament in Minnesota or Michigan (I know, it's a state), but it feels like outdoor games there would just be great for the vibes. 5. Dunno, just seems like asking about awards seems to get under everyone's skins these days. Ask someone if they've ever won anything I guess? 6. Anything that's originated from tiktok and has crept into day to day conversations.
  12. Or just look at the predictions post instead of making VSN do more work bc you don't want to look at the predictions post lol

    Upgraded from dogshit to catshit
  16. Claim it for 6 +2 for VSN, it'd be approved
  17. How have I seen this same complaint from you across your last 2 or 3 players now, spanning completely different sets of voters during that time period, and simply resorting to a cope excuse of "they saw DarkSpyro as the user and voted NO." I do not understand who would care that much to deny someone and shape voting to make your involvement the main criteria for denying you an award. It's not a personal bias, I've never seen your name come up in voting discussions about your player. I always see this same complaint from you each time though. Your claim is that every BOG member, commissioner and VHLM GM have issues with you?
  18. Just weren't spots open for me to play while enjoying being competitive, so peaced out.
  19. I knew it'd all work out man, loved seeing Gunner's career both in Moscow and with Riga. Congrats on all the success, you've earned it!
  20. Sure but that's what happened so I'm just commenting on what happened lol
  21. I do not and didn't claim to know I did, I just don't think (that's my opinion) Rave being an S90 instead of an S91 would have changed the players' outspoken desire to compete last season
  22. i'll just make the cap 90 mil gg man
  23. Sure but you didn't draft those players and you're fortunate that they're spaced out like that. Even if they were retiring in S90, I don't think that'd have changed your "all in" last season, so yes, I'll say it's luckily. And no I didn't click on their update log because I clicked on the roster page and draft pick page for each team and didn't put in any additional effort for a shitpost.
