Don't ever feel like you owe the league an apology for having a life lol, you also don't owe the league your time or your updates. Life comes first, and any additional time you can use to enjoy the VHL is appreciated by everyone you'll interact with. Most if not all GMs will understand your commitments and try to help you plan around them to become the best VHL player you can be, so don't stress about missing some TPE here and there.

Maple Inks Long Term Deal with Vancouver
Spartan replied to dogwoodmaple's topic in VHL.com Articles
Great to see you locked up! Had a very promising rookie season, and I'm excited to keep playing with you in Vancouver -
Thanks for the chats @KaleebtheMighty, appreciate your time! Excited to have the chance to bring @BOOM to Moscow after I've tried so many times in the past! Really hoping we can get you signed to be a big piece of our future!

Halloween's coming up, and I came up with the perfect costume. Halloween's all about pretending to be something you're not (it's not actually, but work with me here) so I've decided to go as a VHL Continental Cup Winner. Guess I got the trick and not the treat in S85, but such is life. We mope and move on. Fair few number of topics to discuss that will be covered in my next podcast (tomorrow?) but I'll drop an overview of them here: - Moscow is sad to see @STZ step back as AGM after 5 seasons in that role. He was a great help with decision making for roster moves and trades, and his expertise will be missed. - In a corresponding move, @Brandon is stepping up into the AGM role after showing some interest in a league management position for a while now. He's already been helping behind the scenes for a couple seasons now, so it made perfect sense that he just slid into the role. Very excited to be working with him! - Moscow's in a fairly interesting position right now, with a pretty strong forward core with just 1 hole, and a defensive group that is missing its centerpiece for the first time since S78 without either Hard Markinson or Aurelian Moreau. Hoodie man seems to be the guy who needs to take the biggest step forward into becoming the team's #1 defenseman, but Moscow still has cap space to acquire another defenseman that could keep Moscow in the thick of the playoff race as always. - I have not yet done any draft scouting, so that's fun! - Nico is re-signing with Vancouver after a pretty solid plan for this next season was presented to me. There was a perfect slot in the roster for me, and it just didn't make sense to test FA despite that being the intention going into the season. VAN wasn't sure if they'd have the cap space back in the S85 offseason, so I wasn't expecting to be back. But the cap moves worked out and here we are, running it back. - Secret changes in the M

Hello all, Once again, I am here to hire a couple new GMs for the VHLM! I'd like to thank @Shindigs for his excellent contributions to the VHLM and Las Vegas over the past few seasons, and @Moon for stepping in as interim GM for Ottawa and trying to bring some stability to that franchise. In the interest of transparency, we are considering both Las Vegas and Ottawa as open positions as Moon was selected as the interim and not hired via an open process. He is still able to apply if he wishes. If you are interested in becoming a VHLM GM for either of these franchises, please indicate your interest in the thread below. We're looking forward to speaking with you! Applications only please.

All good then, just wanted to make sure everyone understands that all these conditions essentially have be met before the end of the S86->S87 offseason, and the one regarding the S87 draft picks would have to be met before the S87 draft. If we're all on the same page, then nothing else needs to be done.

Hello @Alex + @Ricer13 + @Rayzor_7 Just a point of clarification to make sure everyone understands a few things here: Seeing Pedersen is signed until the conclusion of S87, an extension would have to be signed next offseason between rollover into S87 and the S87 VHL draft. An extension signed after the S87 draft would mean this condition is not enforceable since one of the picks involved has been used already. Secondly, Nesbitt is a FA going into S86. Not sure whether the condition involving S87 is intentional here, but I'd just like to confirm.

Congrats to @Enorama and DC, knew it'd be a tough series from how the regular season went but I'm thrilled that DC finally has their first Continental Cup as a franchise. Enjoy the win

VHL attributes leading to direct stats
Spartan replied to Prof. Zach Enron's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I wouldn't say 30 goals is mid-range in the NHL, but for your own example, I had 30 goals and 59 points as a rookie. So it's not unattainable if you earn well. -
VHL attributes leading to direct stats
Spartan replied to Prof. Zach Enron's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I mean if you have 60 SC and others in the league have 90, obviously it's not the system holding you down. Most 800-900+ TPA players who are goal-oriented will have SC between 85-90, so I suppose that's a target to aim at. You can also use the "toggle STHS ratios" button on your update page to see the specific ratios for what hybrid attributes upgrade from an STHS attribute perspective. -

1. Of course, there's no question that we wanted to make the finals and win the cup. That was the goal all along, so the outcome was certainly disappointing. However I wouldn't call it a failure though or a bad time, since the folks on the team were great to be around and the young players showed a lot of potential and growth. This team will continue to be a force in the NA. 2. I'd probably give it a 7, since you have to base a lot of your success on what you can accomplish in the playoffs. We emerged as the 2 seed in a bloody NA conference which was really great, but losing out in the quarters drops that number down. 3. Well I can't really send myself a message to convince myself, but I will just say that I'm keeping my options open and will keep an eye on Vancouver's salary cap and roster as the off-season progresses. I'd be happy to return if it made sense not only for myself, but for the team as well. 4. I think Jimmy MacElroy showed promise down in the VHLE and can step up next season, but I think VAN will have one of the better defense situations with Cheese and Powers leading the group as well. Forward will be tricky but there should be a lot of options out there. So I think VAN can make the playoffs again since I think Calgary is going to rebuild and Toronto and New York are also going to be rebuilding. 5. I don't really do anything for Halloween anymore, haven't really done anything since college. I do know some of the kids in the neighborhood since they're the younger siblings of my friends or those siblings' friends, so I'll generally be around to give them candy when they stop by. 6. Werewolf!

Smh we've been talking about this player and his chances to get to Moscow since before he was created -
Hopefully the rule changes we announced this season prevent this in the future since the goal is to ensure every team has bodies coming out of the draft. We obviously don't want this situation to occur, but there was very little we could do since we just became commissioners last offseason and Ferk inherited that team from the prior GM. Yes, consider it done. Super cringe.

Yeah did not see that coming. Didn't even expect the series win after Warsaw's dominance this regular season. Sorry about that and GG's.
-
SMH . Thank you though, I expect to see Malmo hanging with us in the EU fairly soon as well.

1. I think our finish would have been surprising to anyone before the last offseason. It was pretty apparent that the team made some aggressive moves to compete in the off-season due to the amount of free agents and players available for trade. 2. Honestly a lot of it was just resting up after the grind of a 72 game season. There's not much to be doing other than making sure you're fully rested and prepared for the playoffs. 3. Malmo made some upgrades and gave Davos a scare, and I feel like Chicago gave Seattle some trouble in the regular season. Wasn't too surprising as I felt both series' had potential for anyone to win. 4. It's a little disappointing to be a goal away from an award but obviously the priority is to win the cup. There's nothing else to really ask for if we can win a championship as a team. 5. I think he should certainly be in the conversation for it, he helped hold together a team that was trying to figure out what worked with so many new pieces and young players. Guess it'll be up to those who vote on the awards. 6. Probably a candle yeah?
