Sorry, missed the ping G - Xavier Booberry @Acydburn

F - Nico Pearce @frescoelmo

Yes, I had picked them for you since we thought you were DQ'd. If you don't want them you're free to repick them, just make sure to tag Gus and let him know. They are pretty solid players other folks will snatch up if you drop them though.

One make up pick, and you are currently on the clock going back up the order
-
All good, just make up your pick(s) whenever possible

F - Henri le Massif @Brandon for 2

So we can get Joey back now?

Not a problem, I hope you're feeling alright. I'll let you continue to participate at no penalty since the situation warrants it. @Gustav

Thanks for the post, but my condolences for your loss.

Well a big positive is simply that we've mitigated a known exploit to the sim engine without having to go through the process of changing engines completely. I think that's probably the one that newer members won't really know of, and the current system is all that they will know moving forward. Another is also that we've adjusted scoring league-wide a bit, sharply reducing the number of 100+ point scorers. 10th place on the scoring leaderboard in S82 had 125 points. 1st place in S83 had 122. I think we had multiple teams between S80-S82 with 5-6+ 100 point scorers, which is absolutely insane to think about. Goalies played absolutely horrendously and were generally non-factors for a lot of that time period. We had a goalie win the Slobo and two goalies be considered for the Kanou. It's really helped out those users who willingly create in the most difficult position to play long-term. The biggest negative to me is that absolute ineffectiveness of players in the VHLM, and generally players under like 300 TPE. The actual STHS attributes for those M players look absolutely disgusting, in the 40's and 50's. It's very difficult to get a distinction between PA/SC without about 30-40+ TPE. That does lead to another positive in that people shouldn't be as comfortable sticking around in the VHLM for longer than they should be. With a lower cap, we had people moving out of the M faster anyways, but with builds being so "bad," it's also sort of contributed to people not choosing to cap out at 200 and stick around in the M anymore. Obviously the people who want to stay just for fun will continue to stay down, but your player is just ineffective without more TPE. You can't really build into what you want to be until 300-350 TPE. Final negative for now since this has been a lot, but probably just general confusion about the attributes and seeing progress in your player. A lot of upgrades do not lead to a direct STHS attribute increase and that's definitely frustrating. Some say that it makes TPE worth less, but I feel like it makes TPE even more valuable. The more favorable ratio in the old system obviously makes it more satisfying to upgrade, but it simply made the STHS attributes absolutely ineffective. We fucked with our engine by pumping players full of 99 overall attributes into it, but now we rarely see players with STHS attributes over like 93-94 without significant input. So it's a bit of a negative and a positive as well, users feel like it's a lot more frustrating to be upgrading stuff, but it works a lot better with our engine.

@Shindigs will be the filler, so tag him when it's the filler group's pick please. Shin, you have 1 pick to make up.
-
Alright dunno what the plan here was with waiting on picks, but @lll is DQ'd for missing two picks. I even waited to DQ and provided an extra 2-3 hours. I'll find someone to be the filler for his team since I don't want to be the filler in my own group, but in the meantime lets just have @animal74 go on the clock for your 2 picks.

1. Absolutely, our last games were the lottery tournament and we've had to look inwards and see where we needed to improve, both in the locker room and on the ice. I think we're ready for the season. 2. I'd like to think we can win the European Conference, or at least finish in the top 3. 3. Hammar Voss for sure. He was one of the top prospects in the class and we were lucky to get him. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with. 4. I'd like to hit a point per game and try to lead the team in offense. I've put in a lot of work and I'd like to translate it to helping the team win meaningful games. And of course, win the championship. 5. I'd prefer for it to be us, but I also don't think there's a clear favorite this season. Every contender has taken a step back, but I could see Warsaw make a serious run once they get a 4th defenseman. 6. Kinda nuts we're halfway through 2022. But I'm alright, work keeps me busy and have been either spending time outside with friends now that the weather is nice, or gaming with a nice group of irl friends and sim league folks.

I'm currently sitting in a Zoom meeting having checked into my jury selection session, obviously bored out of my mind so I'll get a vhl.com out of the way for the week. I think one of the math teachers from high school is also on this call which is neat, and everyone else seems to be on the older side. It's only my luck that my Government and Politics teacher in high school has waited like 40 years to WILLINGLY be a juror while it took me like 4 years, 3 of which I was out of state and therefore ineligible. Anyways, VHL stuff! - Excited for the season to start, and a bit nervous as well. Not quite sure how this season will go after losing the best player on the team, and arguably in the league in Duncan Idaho. However it's always very exciting to bring in some fresh blood to the team in Tomas Sogaard and Jason Argos. I think both have worked very hard to make it to the VHL level and both will be expected to pick up a decently significant workload from day 1. - Not quite sure how the M/E are looking for this next season, which is something I suppose I'll get to see when the index comes out for each league presumably sometime today. I would imagine the E is in a pretty good spot with a thick S84 draft class, while the M is struggling a bit more due to a lackluster S85 class. We're all hoping recruitment picks up, and that we can bring some more fresh blood into the league. - I saw Brandon's article earlier this morning about the rookie race this season, and it's actually insane to see how many decent candidates there are. He didn't even have top picks like Napoleon Dynamite or Art Vandelay on the list, which is fair considering the sheer talent coming up from the S83 class. It's very tough to figure out who a decent RotY could be, but I'm leaning towards Hammar Voss, my fellow teammate on Helsinki because of the (hopefully) high scoring year this team is going to have. Voss will be one of the top d-men from day 1, and I think he can drive a lot of offense from the blue line. I wrote a full vhl.com, 385 words, and we're still sitting in silence as people get pulled out to verify their identity and check in. Please help me.

No, I still have to pick for the DQ team so you guys don't become a 5 person draft, with less competition than other groups. I'll let your pick slide for now though since I was going a different direction. D - Aurelian Moreau Webber has already been tagged
