  1. 1) Since it's not been too long since you've joined the league, what are thoughts on the league so far as a whole? "It really seems like a perfect fit for me. It's something I have been trying to be immediately good at but there is such a big learning curve, I know I am going to make mistakes. I'm going to keep plugging away, get a better understanding of the league and perform at a more consistent pace." 2) Are there any areas in the league that you would like to see a change/improvement? '"There is a lot going on at all times on the site. Because of this, it can be challenging for new players to know what to do or what they can't do. You need to have joined before season 70 to do this, and after season 70 to do that. The information is all there, it's just spread out around the site. I wouldn't mind a better summary page of what various things are worth and what you're eligible for as a brand new player." 3) The VHLM Newsletter launched earlier this week, did you read it and was it helpful to you? ''I haven't seen this yet as I joined a few days ago. Looking forward to reading it, though!'' 4) What are your aims this season in the VHLM? ''Have a successful season. Make a name for myself. Win more than we lose. And making the playoffs would be nice, too.'' 5) With the teams starting to take shape, who do you consider to be the favourite for the VHLM Founders Cup? "Ottawa has been really good. I like what I have seen from them so far. I see them making a big impact this season.'' 6a) Is there any player on your VHL team that you're particularly looking forward to playing with when you make the VHL? (For players who were also in the VHL Draft) NA 6b) What do you think of your current VHLM team? (If you were selected in the VHLM Draft) I had high hopes when I signed before the season. After being sat out during the first night, it started to play with my mind a bit. I felt I was healthy enough to play but Berocka didn't get me in the lineup at gametime. I know I am one of the top wingers on the team and will continue to improve as one of the top TPE earners in my very first week. I just need the first line minutes and powerplay time I was promised to flourish. 6c) If a GM were to make you an offer, what kind of player would they be getting? (If you're currently unaffiliated). NA
  2. Hey Reverb, Nice work here. I really like how you do your backgrounds. The coloring and effects you use are solid. You clearly know what you are doing. I am just learning all of these things so I appreciate the inspiration. That said, I like the logo currently in your sig more. It has more vibrant color and a better style. The new sig is almost impossible to read your name, so if I wasn't going off of that only, I wouldn't even know who it was. I get that may be the point of doing the design this way, so its just my personal opinion. Overall, I'd give your current sig an 8 out of 10. I'd give the new one you posted a 5.
  3. Love the player celebrating image. That makes this solid work in my opinion. I also really like that you integrated the team name & logo in here. Something I wish I had have done for my first (pathetic) attempt at a graphic. Next time though, so thanks for the idea. That said, I really don't like the background. It's too overpowering and makes the whole thing hard to look at. The image seems a bit busy so these are my main reasons for taking away points. I'd give it a 6 out of 10, meaning average overall. For the record, I'd give my own logo a 3.
  4. Mississauga Hounds coach benched Mac to protect him Mexico Post Game – Mississauga Hounds Right Winger Michael Mac was polite about being benched during the first night of action, but his team spoke for him. GM Berocka said after the game that he rested Mac because he thought Mexico and Saskatoon would be "taking liberties" with the rookie forward as he is just getting over a shoulder injury. A shoulder he relies on to get off his best asset… that powerful shot. Berocka said Thursday that Mac didn’t like being a spectator. "I believe he wasn’t OK with this when I told him at game time that he wasn’t playing anymore," Berocka said. "Michael wants to be on the ice. As much as he wants to be out there, my job as GM of the Mississauga Hounds is to do what’s best for the organization in those times, and what was best last night was to keep him in the press box until he is 100%. Two games in one night is not easy on the body. "There was no sense exposing him out there. He’s a big-time player for us and we’ve talked about it with my partners between games that we all agreed that it was best for him. I was not surprised by his reaction. He was not happy." Until he is fully healed and back in the lineup, Mac seems vulnerable to bigger teams team that play a heavy game. But he’s not deterred for Night 2 in the VHL. Berocka confirmed that Mac is at 100% and ready to go for the Hounds. Mac was also sure to mention the first line minutes and Powerplay time that was promised, and he is expecting. "Watching the guys out there skate in a 5-2 game, in a physical game like that, I want to be out there with them," Mac said. "We looked like we could really use my offense against Mexico City. But you’ve got to listen to the coach. He knows what’s best. He wanted me to rest. I’ll get my chance here soon and will show you what I’m made of."
  5. Hi everybody, First timer here. I did several point tasks in my first few days. About 5 total. Two days ago, 2 of those got denied because I wasn't eligible. I put a lot of time into those, but my bad for not clearly reading eligibility. I still have 3 tasks outstanding, none of which should be denied. Being a total noob, those points mean a lot to improving. How long does it take to approve these points? Is there anything I can do to speed this process up? Thanks in advance.
  6. Not sure where this stands but I'm interested and on ps4. Let me know if it works out.

  8. Written by Harvard's top scout, Dan Schulman. He is one of college hockey’s most exciting young players and one of the most scrutinized. At 25 years old, he has developed in the AHL and is a far more experienced rookie than many of the others in this rookie class. We don't expect he will be in the minors long after signing a $1.5 million contract with the Mississauga Hounds. We anticipate he will quickly make a name for himself and get the call up. Coming into S71, no collegiate player had a more glaring spotlight on him than Harvard freshman Michael Mac. The Mississauga, ON native has handled the exceedingly high and sometimes unrealistic expectations with grace, dignity and humility throughout the season. In the process, he has become far more than the “one dimensional” player that some have labeled him. Mac ranks fifth on the VHL Scouting’s Final Rankings. While he is projected to be in the top five, he could possibly be any teams first choice due to his offensive ability. Mac played two seasons with the Canadian National Team Development Program (CNTDP). In his final season, Mac amassed an astounding 108 points (62 goals, 46 assists) to lead the team. His 62 goals set a new program single-season record. During his tenure with the CNTDP, Mac participated in numerous international tournaments. In his last year, he led Team Canada to a gold medal at the IIHF World U-18 Championship in the Czech Republic and earned the IIHF’s Directorate Award as the tournament’s most outstanding forward with 18 points (Eleven goals, seven assists) in six games. Mac concluded his freshman campaign leading the nation in rookie scoring with 68 points (35 goals, 33 assists). His 33 assists as well as his points per game also led all rookies. His 68 points and 15 power play goals both rank first on his team. He has notched at least one point in 38 of the 39 games he has played in this season. In eight of the 28 games, he has posted three or more points. Mac is a marvel to watch. He combines dazzling moves with excellent hockey sense, tremendous poise and confidence with the puck, a tireless work ethic, and a very professional approach to the game. Mac is a player who can make those around him better and has the ability to make things happen. In an interview with Hockey’s Future just prior to the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, Harvard head coach Don Lucia articulated his praise and assessment of his opponent. “Michael has had a tremendous year for us. He’s been a big reason why we won the MacNaughton Cup (WCHA regular season champions). A freshman like Mac who can come in and do what he’s done, it doesn’t happen very often. He’s matured and growing both as a player and as a person. What I’ve been impressed with is that he’s been a good listener and teammate and he’s actually done everything that we’ve asked of him. I think he’s a pretty happy kid right now, which is nice to see.” One attribute that immediately jumps out about Mac is his extraordinary skating ability. His explosive speed and effortless strides are what set him apart from just about every other player in the nation. No doubt we look forward to watching him in the VHL.

  12. When Will NHL Resume? And What Will It Look Like? Nobody knows the answer right now, which is why I think it would be fun to speculate! When Will NHL Resume? June 2020 What Will It Look Like? They will pickup in the playoffs, forgoing the remainder of the regular season.
  13. Hot take: Maple Leafs win the cup in the next 10 years.
  14. Present Day On the evening of March 24th, I got three phone calls. The first was from Motza, GM of the Mexico City Kings. He told me he can offer me 1st/2nd line minutes on our squad. The second was from Sonnet, General Manager of the Houston Bulls organization. And then the third call was from Berocka the GM of the Mississauga Hounds. He offered me first line minutes and PP time. Everything I was looking for, really. After discussing it with my agent & family, we called Berocka back and his first words out of his mouth were: “You’re going to be a Hounnnnnnnnd!” Have you ever heard Berocka so excited? It was glorious. He told me he had been working with my college coach to try and get me to the VHL. To hear that Berocka had actually gone to my team and advocated acquiring me … I couldn’t pack my bags fast enough. Growing Up I was just a kid who grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Playing hockey every day, whether on the pond outside, in the shady barn down the street or at the city's indoor quad pad. I didn't care. I could skate by the time I was 3 years old and haven't wanted to take my skates off since. Fresh out of St. Thomas High School, I went to Harvard where they had an aggressive pitch to get me to play there. My academics were great, and they appreciated that. What better school to go to than Harvard?! Ivy League at it's finest. I played many other sports as well. Some say a multi talented athlete. My father thinks I'm actually a better baseball player than I am a hockey player, but I don't think that's true. I also played american football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, golf, tennis, snowboarding. I could go on and on. I have tried every sport there is. But nothing was as enticing to me as hockey. Present Day On my way to the airport that night the texts and calls kept rolling in. The whole team hit me up to tell me about the city and the Hounds. They each mentioned different things. A lot of what they said was about the team, Coach and the organization from top to bottom. But, I think it was Albert Stoner who told me about the fans. “It’s the best hockey town you’ll play in.” I mean, I wasn’t going to tell him I thought he was lying, but … Mississauga? Really? I grew up in Canada and played in Toronto and Montreal, so I thought Stoner was just feeding me some hype. Or was stoned. But, man, the strangest thing happened after I got to Mississauga. I must have been stopped 40 times by Hounds fans. No joke. Berocka said he had never seen anything like that. So many of them told me what the Hounds meant to them — and how desperately they wanted me to help them get back to glory. I sort of thought I’d get to San Jose, walk down the streets in shorts every day and nobody would recognize me … but this city isn’t just a Hounds town — it’s a hockey town with a bunch of hockey nuts. Stoner was right. And the best part about that day with Albert was getting back to my apartment, sitting on the couch and realizing that people wanted me there. Man, I am just so damn excited to be a part of this community — to feel like someone is putting their faith in me. That feeling, for me, is the most valuable commodity in the world. Because for a long time, I knew what it felt like to not be wanted. I've always prided myself on giving 100%. Every time I stepped on the ice. Day in and day out. So when I got labelled as “spoiled,” or “selfish” for portraying myself as I did, it didn’t make sense to me. I just want to be great and make history. Isn't that what every kid dreams of? But the Hounds and these fans have put their faith in me now — and that’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s a great feeling when you know you’re wanted, and it makes you play that much harder for the organization and for the fans. It’s why I love the game. And it’s why I feel so at home here in Mississauga.
  15. Getting ready to sign. Gimme that cheddar.

  16. Player Name: Michael Mac Recruited From: Reddit Age: 25 Position: RW Height: 73 in. Weight: 193 lbs. Birthplace: Canada Summary Michael Mac is an exceptional offensive player. He will help any powerplay he plays on. His shot and skating ability are superior to most of the competition he has faced to date. He set the record for goals & points in a single season at Harvard. His awareness and knowledge of the game will ensure his skills transfer to the VHL & VHML. The downside of Mac is his commitment to defense. Some say his exceptional offensive burst is only their because he saves his energy on defense. Personally, I don't think it's that bad. I'd say he is a middle of the pack in terms of defense but he can be exploited by highly skilled players. Pros Shooting – Expected to get PP time with his new team, his shot is one of his best assets. Michael has an exceptional release with a lot of power behind it. Consistency – Michael Mac has scored and won at every level. He is not shy about stepping up and being a leader in the dressing room. Skating - Will be one of the top skaters for a rookie and this will be something he continues to work on as he recognizes the importance of being a great skater in todays VHL. Cons Defense – If the rumours are true and Michael signs with his hometown team Mississauga, you can expect more of a Phil Kessel style of defense as he learns that side of the game. He hasn't needed to provide defense on his teams, as they were built solidly all around. This will need to improve in the VHL. More Details Mac's stellar freshman season earned him numerous accolades, including the WCHA and Inside College Hockey Rookie of the Year honors. He is a three-time WCHA Rookie of the Week honoree and was named the CSTV/HCA National Rookie of the Month for November. He was also a member of the Canada squad at the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championships in Vancouver where he was named tournament MVP. Most recently, Mac was selected to play for Team Canada at the World Championships currently taking place in Riga, Latvia, before it was postponed due to Covid-19.
  17. Hello GM Berocka, I have reviewed your offer. I love the first line minutes and PP time. Offensive skill like mine deserves a chance to shine and I won't let you down. But most importantly, I get to play for my hometown team! I am happy to accept your offer to play for the Mississauga Hounds. Your guidance will be appreciated. Let me know how I can best help this team.
