The schedules really hate wildcard rounds haha. The VHL starts with game 4, 8, 12, and 16 haha

INDEX @VHL GM You guys know the drill, lines on the portal please. We will start the wildcard round tomorrow so you've got ~24 hours for lines. Same as always as well, live sims can be found at the below link. I cannot promise you a specific time for these and, likewise, I can't promise you they will be very entertaining; in fact I can almost guarantee that they won't be. However in an effort to be more transparent with our simming you will all be able to watch me click buttons in all it's glory. You can USUALLY expect sims around 6:45pm EST but it will vary. From a legal perspective that’s why we’ve always avoided any kind of betting system, specifically betting with TPE. Since technically donations could be seen as buying TPE it could be argued that it introduces illegal gambling. It wouldn’t be a likely outcome I’m sure but it’s also not something that, IMO, is worth the risk.

I mean sometimes I accidentally tick off the “update age” box in the initial update so it might age them up, I’m not sure. Not that age does anything.

I would expect nothing less haha. I just know that unless you know the context of things a lot of the changes in the past couple of years, and there have been many, would seem incredibly confusing.

It kinda was actually. The main problem wasn’t just “low TPE players suck for awhile” it was also that there was physically no room for the players to go and we had piles of free agents with no homes because teams were too full to take them, especially those lower TPE players. “So just expand” I can hear you typing, and people did suggest that, but the problem is that we’ve already expanded to what I deem as stretching point. Every new team means more draftees needed: more recruitment more retention. And if that doesn’t happen the parity goes to shit and teams need to be contracted which is a messy procedure I never want to touch again. Therefore, the VHLE, which you could argue was a larger expansion so it should have the same issues BUT the irony is that removing a full league is easier than a couple of teams. Everyone in the VHLE has either a VHLM team, a VHL team, or both. So if we need to contract it people just get pushed to the league they now belong in TPE wise and nothing really gets messed with. Oh we figured that out, figured it out to an extreme actually and broke everything. Technically they still can, or most of them can anyway, it’s just an incredibly horrible idea to do it. That’s fair. Portal pitches do feel less personal even though the pitches were always just copy / paste jobs anyway. It’s a lot more efficient for everyone this way though. I mean if you talk VHL and record it then it 100% can, that’s what my CoDCast used to be. Also we did add at least 1 earning method, I don’t believe Game Recaps existed before.

I've done too much emailing clearly, I didn't even think of the dirty interpretation until well after haha. If you're actually curious it's Blind Carbon Copy. Works exactly the same as a regular email CC except that with BCC you don't see the emails of everyone CCed. So without doing that everyone who received the email will be able to see the email address of everyone else.

That is actually completely true. Our salary cap is balanced around the fact that you can’t ice a team of completely top TPE guys. You can get away with a lot of max earners if they are all on ELC’s but as they age it becomes impossible and that’s by design. Lower income earners are vital depth pieces for less money.

I'm not sure you do really haha. The internet wasn't exactly a nice place back in 2007 and the VHL was no exception. We were pretty darn toxic back then. As much as us old farts like the talk nostalgia about how things used to be (back in my day you had to EARN your TPE and you weren't guaranteed 6, plus the weekly cap was only 9!) we're honestly in much better shape as a league then we were then.

I remember a huge celebration and like a re-theme of the forum and everything for when the VHL hit 15 seasons because it was basically unheard of and now we're passed 15 years. It's craziness.
