  1. Good summary and key points every player having a bad year should refer to! Could provide reasoning and thoughts to why Zamboni Driver has been struggling so far this season. Could add stats for referencing. Why has the season not gone as planned? What has been going wrong? What was the expectations. Lots to talk about! Still, very good points for all players to focus on. There is no I in TEAM after all 7/10
  2. Nice summary of what happened to cause a 0-2 record over the last two games. Could provide more information, however. For example, could show the shot count to see if the team was being shut down by the opposing team, or simply facing a hot goaltender. Regardless, it summarizes the key points that shows the disgust in the back to back losses by the Saskatoon Wild. Strong Jr and Vericel really took the blame though. 6/10
  3. This week, we're having our mid-season review for our most outstanding player so far in the VHLM, @Wheaties Brian Strong Jr! Brian Strong Jr, a center drafted into the VHLM 23rd Overall in season 73 and drafted 24th Overall into the VHL this season. As a young center standing 5'11'' and 185 lbs, Brian Strong Jr was sent back to play for the Saskatoon Wild by the New York Americans. With his return to the Wild, it lit a fire in Brian Strong Jr's belly. Brian came out strong and accelerated past everyone into first place in the points leaderboard right off the bat. Currently, midway through S74 at 36 games, Brian Strong Jr is the only player in the VHLM to have more than 40 goals and 40 assists already. With a lustrous 46 goals, 11 more than his teammate Florent Vericel @dart who is in second place with 35, and 42 assists for 88 points in 36 games, Brian Strong Jr holds a ridiculous 2.44 points per game average! Brian Strong Jr has long since surpassed his S73 goals, assists and points totals. One definite factor to his production is Brian Strong Jr's shot count, having taken league leading 283 shots which is already 80 more shots than a full season in S73! How far could this youngster go? Where will he end up at the end of the season? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain. Brian Strong Jr is ready for the big league. It'll be interesting next year in New York! 5. One-Third Season Review It's time for a One-Third Season Review for Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment for Season S74. (15) With a return to the VHLM for another season, young New York Americans' center prospect Rhynex Entertainment is off to a good start and heating up as the season progresses. Entertainment is having a fantastic season on the top line of the Las Vegas Aces. In fact his whole line is in the top 10 leader board in a few areas! Entertainment sits top 5 in assists (tied 4th) and 8th (tied 7th) in VHLM league points with 24 helpers and 35 points in 22 games. It is especially helpful by having two top 5 goal scorers in Chris Reynolds @Crstats23 (tied 4th in goals) with 17 and 3rd in goals in Gary Rush @G_Rush with 23 on the wings. (120) As the 7th best offensive forward in the minors, Entertainment needs to pick up his defensive game. This might be one area Entertainment need to work on to be successful in the VHL next season. Regardless, Entertainment is heating up lately and is fantastic on the dot. After 22 games, Entertainment has won 62.77% of the 744 face-offs taken, and is on a hot streak with a 2 game goal scoring streak and a 7 game point scoring streak! Let's see if Rhynex Entertainment can continue staying hot and watch where the Entertainer finishes at season end! 6. SITR: Las Vegas Aces GM Interview Spartan 2 Host: Thanks for tuning into VHL Network, Stick In The Rink! Last time we had the Assistant General Manager of the VHL New York Americans AGM @dlamb come in, and now this week we have our first returning special guest! Please welcome back GM @Spartan, the General Manager of the Las Vegas Aces! (camera focuses on the audience showing a standing ovation, round of applause, and cheering, and Spartan walks in) Welcome Spartan! Thanks for coming in today! Spartan: Thank you! I had great fun last time, thanks for inviting me back! (continual cheers and applause slowly dying down) Host: First of all. congratulations on a successful season last year! It has already been an interesting off-season for you and the Aces. I see a lot of new faces in the organization. How has the departure of your former AGM @twists affected you and the Las Vegas Aces? What is it like to be working with a new AGM in @JigglyGumballs? Spartan: I think we'll definitely miss having him (twists) around, but we can't remain in the past anymore. He's made his decision, which I respect, and I wish him the best and hope to see him around in the future. Jiggs (JigglyGumballs) has been a fantastic addition to our management team, as he hit the ground running right before the draft and helped out in a big way. He was immediately involved in scouting, has been active and helpful in the locker room, and is willing to complete any task I ask from him. Host: The front office was not the only change to the team, there also seems to be a lot of new faces in the locker room. How did you feel you did in the recent S74 draft? And why do you feel that way? Do you think you could have done better? Spartan: I think we had a really good draft. Getting Nicky (Nicholas Sunderbruch) @NickSunderbruch back in the first round was actually our top goal, he was easily our number 1 choice to pick with our first rounder, so truly thrilled to have him back. With Sid (Tim Waters) @Siddhus going up to Warsaw, we drafted a fantastic replacement in Gucci (Its Gucci) @frescoelmo , who has already been engaged in our LR and has been doing well. We were also able to draft Chase Crosby @Wreckening back to the organization, which was really exciting considering our familiarity with him. Outside of the familiar faces, I think we hit gold with 4 of our rookies - Artem McCloud (Artair McCloud) @Hoopydog, Kelley Power @Nordin, Linus Zetterstrom @Ledge_and_Dairy, and Connor Sim @SimmerDown99. All of them were some mid-late round picks, and they've all been active in our locker room and have helped generate some excitement for this season. (Cheers and claps could be heard from the audience) Host: Definitely a nice draft with so many new prospects and a couple returning faces. However, you've lost both your S73 Captain, Onde Sandstrom @fonziGG ,and team points leader and leading scorer Kasey Tamm @kesytamm over the recent off season. How do you feel this will affect the Las Vegas Aces' chances this season? How have you compromised for the huge losses? Spartan: I think that the biggest impact with their losses is going to be in the locker room, rather than on the ice. Both of them were dynamic scorers, but we have Gary Rush @G_Rush still on the squad, and rising stars Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainmentand Chris Reynolds @Crstats23 to fill their shoes. Very happy with Nicky, Gucci and Wachiure (Angel Wachiure) @inflastud on the 2nd line as well, and our rookies who I'm sure will step up to play some key depth roles this season. I'm pretty confident in our chances for this season, as I think we can make a pretty deep run. Host: With the departure of Onde Sandstrom, it was expected that you would promote one of your S73 Alternate Captains, which you have in Chris Reynolds. However, what surprised everyone was the promotion of two new Alternate Captains as well! Last season as a rookie, Rhynex Entertainment was given the "A". After a fantastic rookie season, was there a reason to why he was demoted and had his leadership role removed? What made you decided upon having two new alternates in the locker room? Spartan: Yeah, picking our Captain was pretty easy, as Chris (Reynolds) has been vocal in the locker room just about every day. He's been active, passionate, and really shows what it means to be a Las Vegas Ace every day in this league. In terms of our alternates, one spot went to a veteran on our roster who provides a very steady and wide perspective on our team in Kaskper Kankkunen @ZP16. He's a veteran defensemen now in his second season, and he's very knowledgeable and supportive to everyone on the team. Our last pick was tough, but with our Captain selection and first Alternate Captain selection, there was a theme that we seemed to inherently follow. Both of the users were outspoken players on the team, and there was another player who fit those values perfectly, in Nicky Sunderbruch. He lights up the room, and brings the hype every day. He is easily the person I would expect to lead the team to get beers after games. Now, this isn't a knock on Rhynex (Entertainment) at all. What Jiggs and I have seen is quiet, stoic leadership, someone who leads by example rather than with words. Regardless of the "A" or "C" on his jersey, we know that he's going to play a big part on this team, albeit in a quieter and more discreet manner. Host: So silent, but deadly. Good to know about that for Entertainment. Sometimes the silent and serious types who aren’t great in the locker room would just show up on the ice. Let's see how that goes. With so many new personnel in your roster, how do you feel your team will do this season? What is the Las Vegas Aces' goal for S74? Who do you feel will be your team's leading scorer this year? How about the MVP? Spartan: I think the goal and expectation for this season remains the same as last year, but with some invigoration - to win it all. Even with the turnover on the team, I'm confident that we have the pieces needed to make the cup run. We added Joakim Lund @Bouncyelf from San Diego to shore up our top 4 defensemen, and traded for Drew Minnot @DreMin15 from Houston to replace Frieds (Nils Friedriksen, Goaltender) @Biggreen10 who went up to the VHL. They're all strong players and are already meshing in well with the team. Regarding leading scorers, I think anyone on the first or second line could walk away with it, they're that talented. Kasper Kankkunen could also make a bid for the title. For MVP, my vote always goes to the goalie - so I put my faith in Drew (Minnot). Host: Very reasonable prediction, especially with Kasey Tamm being the leading scorer last season on the second line. Who do you feel will be the Rookie of the Year for S74 VHLM? How about the sleepers? Who's going to shock the league? Who will be the league MVP? Spartan: I think Its Gucci could have a strong shot at rookie of the year, especially since he's between two second year wings who can generate a lot of offense. In terms of sleepers and the rest, I think it's hard to predict. Just about anyone in this league can put in the work and turn into a quality player, so just about anyone can be a sleeper and shock the league. In terms of league MVP, you could see someone like a goalie on a middling team that carries their squad into the playoffs. Host: From the looks of things, you have a very strong top line in Chris Reynolds, Rhynex Entertainment, and Gary Rush, but a team hardly ever wins a championship with just one line. Who do you feel can step up to help your big boys? Will you be bringing in help from outside? Spartan: I think that Las Vegas is deeper than just a first line. Our second line has the potential to be right on par with our first line, and our third line is filled with rookies who are developing quickly. Defensively, we have 6 solid players who can play any role on a team, so they're going to be in a very strong spot come playoffs time. In goal, we have one of the best in the league, so I don't expect to be getting any players from other teams to round out the team. Host: Your team is off to a strong start. You have plenty of hot players right off the bat, with 7 players scoring more than point per game, especially Gary Rush who has 8 goals and 15 points in your first 9 games. Did you expect this to happen? How do you keep the team focused and make sure this hot start to the season does not turn sour real quick? Spartan: I think that it goes without saying that we had high hopes for this season. That players are starting hot isn't really a surprise, but something we had hoped for and borderline expected to happen. Without players starting off hot, we wouldn't be able to get some crucial early season wins to stay in the pack that always forms, racing for #1. In terms of keeping the team focuses, everyone knows the goal. We're here to win and have a good time while doing it. Everyone has to buy in, and Jiggs and I have made it clear that we're here to help in any way possible. (applause and cheers starting to rile up in the background) Host: What is the most important quality you are seeking in players who you plan to bring into the team's fold? What is the style of play for your team moving forward? How far do you think you'll go with your current line up? Is there anyone you can bring in who would bring your team over the top? Spartan: I think there are a lot of qualities we look for in a Las Vegas Ace, both on and off the ice. When we're looking at players to bring onto the team, we're looking at active members, positive attitudes, and the willingness to do what it takes to help the team win. We're confident that we can develop players into quality players for our organization and for whichever other team they play for, so we don't really have a set style of play. It's defined by the players on the team, and the best we can do is mold them together in a way that sets this team up for success. As I said earlier, I think this team can take us a long way as is, without any outside assistance. Host: Alright! Unfortunately, looks like we are almost out of time. Is there any parting words you want to give to the audience and the fans out there? Spartan: Just a massive thank you for support from around the league, and a shout out to everyone who voted for me for the Elmebeck last season. It's truly humbling and appreciated to be recognized, but now the Aces want to win it all! (the crowd cheers and applauses as a standing ovation begins) Thanks for your time buddy, always a pleasure to chat with you. Host: (talking over the loud background cheering) It's been a pleasure to have you back, Spartan! We hope to have you come on again in the future! Best of luck to for the rest of the season and I look forward to seeing how far the Las Vegas Aces go this season! (continual cheers and applause could be heard from the background audience as the TV screen goes to credits) [Total Word Count: 2007] (claims for Sept 27, Oct 4, Oct 11, and Oct 18)
  7. 1. Good strong start, but could be better. Should be better after this week when I get maxed out. 2. Not at all, when you feel there's pressure that when you lose. Just ned to go out there and enjoy the thrill of the game of hockey. 3. Kasper, chill guy 4.Well pretty sure my guy's already called "the Entertainer" 5. I have to admit I did not expect my VHL teammate Brian Strong Jr to have such an exceptional start. 6. Dman. Rhynex's story was he started as a dman turned forward (refer to junior review)

  9. Change of Leadership in LVA With the start of a new season, we see many changes to the Las Vegas Aces. In the front office, Season 74 will see the return of GM @Spartan and a hopeful full year of new AGM @JigglyGumballs. In the roster, we see a great infusion of new talent along with a couple of veteran returnees. (56) The departure of team captain, Onde Sandstrom @fonziGG to the VHL Vancouver Wolves, and team leading scorer Kasey Tamm @kesytamm to VHLM rivals the Chicago Phoenix, opens up holes in the Las Vegas Aces' leadership. Therefore GM Spartan made some predictable and surprising leadership changes to the locker room. In come new captain, Chris Reynolds @Crstats23 , who held the "A" in Season 73, and two new alternates, Nicholas Sunderbruch @NickSunderbruch and Kasper Kankkunen @ZP16. A surprising demotion from leadership for S73 alternate captain Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment. (88) With the changes of leadership, the Las Vegas Aces are off to a hot start, winning 6 of their first 9 games of S74. Leading the way is Gary Rush @G_Rush with 8 goals and 15 points in 9 games. All leaders, the captain and his alternates each hold 10 points in 9 games, and even Rhynex Entertainment the former alternate also has 10 points in 9. This might turn out to be an overwhelming season for the Las Vegas Aces, whom starts S74 with plenty of depth scoring and 7 players with more than point per game! (98) (Total word count: 242)

  16. Headed to Big Apple With the VHL S74 Draft over, young star Center of the VHLM Las Vegas Aces, Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment, have been selected 27th Overall in the Second Round by the New York Americans. Rhynex Entertainment is headed to the Big Apple! Coming off a fantastic rookie season in the VHLM, Rhynex Entertainment caught the eyes of GM @Esso2264 and AGM @dlamb of the New York Americans. Rhynex Entertainment has grown tremendously over his rookie season with the Las Vegas Aces, notching 19 goals and 68 points in 72 games in the VHLM regular season in S73, followed by a team high 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 6 games in the playoffs. His performance caught New York's eyes. AGM dlamb immediately reached out to the young prospect Centerman, right after Entertainment was eliminated from the VHLM playoffs, showing genuine interest. In fact, New York was the only team to show any interest with their Pre-draft questions and answers interview for the longest time. Rhynex Entertainment did not receive another team's interest for an interview until 10 days later. During the S74 draft, New York quickly snagged up Entertainment with their 3rd pick; their second pick in the second round. The entry contract signing came on the same day. While Rhynex Entertainment is likely to return to the VHLM with the Las Vegas Aces, it won't be too long before Entertainment plays his first game in the VHL. Now we can only wait and see! 17. A Look at How Rhynex Entertainment became a Hockey Top Prospect Rhynex Entertainment was born in Mission, BC. His family moved to Vancouver, BC when he was 9 years of age. This was a result from bringing his brother to Vancouver for High School. Rhynex did not start out as a hockey player, instead he followed his brother's footsteps as a speed skater. The elegance, the smooth skating, strength and power, and of course brilliant thrill of speed, these were the qualities Rhynex tried to stimulate in his daily skates. Something the Entertainment family was proud of, the possibility of having two speed skating Olympians in the future, to follow the footsteps of Rhynex's parents, whom were both speed skating Olympians. The Entertainment family left Mission, on a mission to bring two boys to the Olympic games. However, everything changed one December day while doing laps in the neighbourhood rink. Rhynex met up with a group of kids playing ice hockey. Rhynex did not pay much attention to the game at first, but there was a girl that caught his eye. The girl was a year younger at that time, she was 8, but was also one of the best skaters on the ice that day. Her smooth skating, along with incredible speed was hard to avoid; and she was doing all that in heavy clothes and while holding a stick! Another girl saw Rhynex watching and invited Rhynex to join in the game. This was the first time Rhynex had ever played hockey, abid not knowing the rules at all. This group of kids soon became good friends of Rhynex, and coincidentally they soon found themselves as classmates in the elementary school Rhynex was entering late in January. This was actually the first time Rhynex had gone to public school, after being home schooled beforehand. Rhynex quickly became immersed in the game of hockey. Started his hockey life as a defenseman under the guidance of the girl who had initially invited Rhynex to the game of hockey, Rhynex learnt the importance of hard work and defensive play. Rhynex's game improved drastically over the following couple of years, but the defensive play lacked the oomph and excitement that caught Rhynex's eyes that day in the local rink. It was in the start of High School when Rhynex converted his game from playing defence to that of a forward. Rhynex never forgot the importance of hard work and defensive play and kept it intact with his play upfront. The transformation became even more suitable and fitting when Rhynex played in the center. The ability to cover the most areas of the ice intrigued Rhynex and that was the beginning of Rhynex's hockey career as a Centerman. Although the Entertainment family was disappointed in not having two speed skaters in the family, Rhynex found his way into the highly recognized hockey league, VHL. While still a prospect, as a teenager at the age of 16, there is much room for growth and a huge prospect of luxury in the future. Something a speed skater might not ever receive. Only time will tell, maybe one day Rhynex would also be an Olympian, just not as a speed skater. (Word count: 524)
  18. SITR: New York Americans Post Draft Interview Host: Welcome back! Thanks for tuning into VHL Network, Stick In The Rink! Today is September 10, draft day in the VHL, and we are in luck today! We have a special guest. Please welcome @dlamb AGM of the VHL New York Americans! (round of applause and cheering in the background) Welcome dlamb! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to come on in today! dlamb: Thank you for having me! Host: I know it must be quite busy with the start of the off-season, so we'll get straight into the interview. First of all, now that Season 73 has finally ended, what are your thoughts on the Americans' season in S73? Did the team meet expectations and year-end goals? dlamb: Thank you. I joined on as an AGM for New York mid-way through the season, and while there were rough patches, for the most part the team was near the top of the standings. With a good amount of players on our team either retiring or going to UFA, the expectation was to end on a high note for most of those guys. Unfortunately, while it still was a good season overall, a Game 7 loss to Calgary ending our season hurt. Host: What did you feel was the biggest surprise in S73? Did you pay attention to the VHLM or were your focus mainly in the VHL? dlamb: In my opinion, it is either the rise of Sigard Gunnar @Big Mac with an amazing league leading 60 goals and 119 points with the expansion LA Stars, or the surprise Helsinki Titans taking the EU conference and making the Continental Cup final. I also have a foot in the VHLM as well, however my Miami Marauders lost in the finals. (dlamb shows a rather hurt and sad expression before relaxing and returning to a cheerful mood a moment later) Host: As an AGM of a VHL team, how is your experience and cooperation with your team boss GM @Esso2264? What are your primary duties for the team? Any thoughts on taking a GM position if one becomes available? dlamb: Esso makes it easy for me, he's a really cool guy and I am more than happy to be working with him. Primarily I am a second opinion for Esso, helping out with things like scouting, posting in the locker room, and doing weekly press conferences. If a GM position were to become available I would probably apply, but I do not know if I have the experience to take on that role just yet. Host: You just finished the S74 VHL draft. What are your thoughts on the draft? Did you get the players whom you had your eyes on? Overall how satisfied are you with how the team did in the draft? dlamb: I talked to quite a few players, and for the most part we got the guys we wanted. Of course some got taken, as expected, but it wasn't a bad draft at all. I think me and GM Esso are quite happy with the players we got. Host: With the draft over, who do you feel won the S74 VHL draft? Were there any sleepers or steals in this draft? Any surprises popped up? If you had a do over, would you have drafted differently? dlamb: It's definitely too early to tell, anyone can go inactive at any given time. I do think DCD got a steal in the Hoffmann brothers, as those were guys I know outside of VHL. I think Leo Strauss @gregreg won the draft, getting drafted not once, not twice, but three times in 1 day! (a few giggles and cheers could be heard in the background audience) I don't think we would do anything different, we're quite happy. Host: There was a lot of Retirements to your S73 veterans and also a few left to experience Free Agency. What are the plans for this off-season free agency? dlamb: Honestly starting to plan now. Not quite sure of this yet, we plan to be active, and see where that takes us. Host: How many players are you expecting to play for you in S74? Would you be utilizing any of your most recent draftees? dlamb: Right now we have 10 on the roster, but like I said, we will try and be active in free agency. Markus Schauer @Plate will probably be the only S74 draftee to be up with us next season, but you never know. Host: What do you feel is the current direction of your team? What are your plans for your team's future? What's the goal for your team in the next season? dlamb: We are going to continue to develop the players we have, and build around them in the draft and free agency to develop a team that can be dangerous in the near future. I'd like to say that playoffs are a goal for next season. Host: Who do you feel will be the Rookie of the Year for S74 in the VHL? Who do you feel will step up the most on your team for S74? dlamb: Dakota Lamb of the Warsaw Predators will get my vote for S74 Rookie of the Year for sure. (a few giggles could be heard in the background) But of course, I have to give a shoutout to my boy Markus Schauer too. With the recent retirement of franchise goalie A Red Guy @.sniffuM, I feel like one of our rookie goalies, whether it be Bacon @Bacon or Cal Conway @Shaka, will step up for us in a big way. Host: Currently, you only have two players signed for longer than one season. With the direction the team is taking, who do you plan to build the team around? Is there someone who you feel would be leading the team into the future or do you plan to find that someone out in free agency? dlamb: I think we like the core group we have right now. For the most part we tried to get players that would be here for the long haul, now all that's left is to "trust the process". Building from within is always more exciting, building around people you took a chance on. Host: What is the most important quality you are seeking in players who you plan to bring into the team's fold? What is the style of play for your team moving forward? dlamb: For me personally, it comes down to 1 thing. Activity. I'll take an active player over a non-active one every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Activity is a big part of the reason we drafted the way we did. As for style of play, we will have to see with this iteration of the new-look NYA. Host: Alright! Looks like we are almost out of time. Is there any parting words you want to give to the audience and the fans out there? dlamb: Thank you to all of our fans, and good luck to our draftees wherever they may be this upcoming season. Go NYA! (loud cheers and applause in the background) Host: (talking over the background cheering) Thank you for such a wonderful interview dlamb! We hope to have you come on again in the future! Best of luck in free agency and the upcoming season! (continual cheers and applause could be heard from the background audience) [Total Word Count: 1238] (Claim for Weeks Ending September 13 and 20)

  21. This week, we have a S73 Post-Post Season Review for the Las Vegas Aces. With the locker room emptied for the Las Vegas Aces for S73 in the VHLM, we look back at how the Aces did in their playoffs. (40) The Las Vegas Aces found themselves matched with a tough opponent in the first round of the VHLM playoffs. Matched up against the Minnesota Storm, Las Vegas Aces finished the series 2-4, losing in game 6, which happened to be a high scoring affair; a 5 - 6 loss where getting their empty net scored upon took them out of reach, although the Aces showed a never give up mentality coming back within one with a late tally by Captain Onde Sandstrom @fonziGG with 11 seconds to go, which might be Sandstrom's final goal for the Aces. (97) It was a relatively high scoring series between the Minnesota Storm and the Las Vegas Aces. With a total of 53 goals combined between the two teams in the series, the Aces led the goals department by one with 27 and still found a way to lose. There are some high notes worth mentioning though as the Aces finished with a 39.29% efficiency on the Power Play and an effective 83.78% on the Penalty Kill, which shows promise for the special team games. This is an area that the Aces can look upon to bring into next season's team. (99) Leading the way for the playoffs and series are Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment and Angel Wachiure @inflastud with 8 points apiece in 6 playoff games.
