  1. I talked with Laich before the draft and he said he's moving up to the VHL this season
  2. Through a quick glance, the Rush have 9 players over 100 tpe and 2 players who who should be over 100 tpe by the end of the season. This means that not only will the Rush have some great top line players, they will also have really good depth as well. The Rush also boast the best goalie in the league in Kimmo Salo as he is already over 100 tpe and was the only goalie in the draft. It looks like the cup race will come down to Yukon, Minot, and Turku as each team held 3 first round picks in this draft. All three teams have some excellent players and this looks to be a really exciting season in the VHLM. Last year, pretty much everyone knew the Watchmen were going to win the cup after the draft ended. This season, we have 3 teams who have a really good shot at the cup, which makes things really interesting. Also Squinty usually reads these so hi Squinty!
  3. Recapping the 1st Round of the S37 VHLM Dispersal Draft While I have only been in the VHL since Season 27, the S37 VHLM Dispersal Draft is possibly the best VHLM Draft in league history. In fact, I’d say that many of the players taken in the second round this year would have been first round picks in previous drafts. In this article, I will be looking into the first round of the draft and discussing why each team drafted the player they did. 1. YUKON RUSH (from Oslo): Kimmo Salo As the only goalie in the draft, Salo instantly provides the Rush with the best goalie in the VHLM. Many experts predicted Yukon’s first pick weeks ago, as the retirement of Zach Fucale forced Yukon to look elsewhere to solve their goaltending problem. After Yukon failed to sign a goalie in free agency, it was all but written on the wall who Yukon’s first pick would be. 2. TURKU OUTLAWS: Jake Wylde Wylde was an excellent pick for the Outlaws, as he projects to be a star defenseman for Turku this year. While Wylde only declared for the draft a few days beforehand, he has been given the benefit of the doubt by most teams due to his agent’s success with previous players. If Wylde pans out as projected, Turku will be in for a Wylde ride this year (pun intended). 3. MINOT GLADIATORS (from Ottawa): Bruno Wolf Wolf is another player who declared just a few days before the draft. Just like Wylde, his agent has a history of producing quality players in the VHL, so he must be given the benefit of the doubt. As soon as Wolf declared for the draft, he was projected by many experts to be drafted by Minot due to his agent’s excellent relationship with the Gladiator’s GM. 4. YUKON RUSH (from Oslo): Konstantin Azhishchenkov Konstantin Azhishchenkov, also known as KJA, projects to be Yukon’s first-line center as he has already logged a high amount of practice hours. Many experts expected KJA to be selected before Yukon’s fourth pick due to his brimming potential. I’m sure Yukon was thrilled when they found out KJA was still available with their fourth pick. 5. TURKU OUTLAWS (from Saskatoon): Vojzek Svoboda Svoboda is another player who has an agent with an excellent track record of success. He projects to be a star defenseman as well, and will combine with Wylde to possibly make the best defensive pairing in the league. Svoboda was another player projected to be taken higher in the draft, and I’m sure Turku was glad to be in the position to draft him. 6. TURKU OUTLAWS (from Vasteras): Travis Boychuk Boychuk should provide the Outlaws with a first-line center capable of producing lots of points. Few expected much of Boychuk last season after he was claimed off waivers by Ottawa. However, Boyhchuk showed a lot of potential in his half season with Ottawa, and was coveted by many VHLM scouts. 7. MINOT GLADIATORS: Jakub Linholm Linholm has the talent to be a top-three selection in most other VHLM drafts, and thus was a great selection for Minot. Linholm should provide Minot with an excellent scoring threat on the left wing and will likely be a major factor in Minot’s success this season. 8. BERN ROYALS: Logan Laich Many scouts had Laich pegged as the most talented player in the draft. Unfortuneatly for Bern, Laich has too much talent and most likely will not be playing in the VHLM this year. This really hurts Bern’s chances of competing for a cup this year as they essentialy lost a first round pick. 9. MINOT GLADIATORS (from Yukon): Ashton Galbraith Galbraith adds to Minot’s stockpile of wingers, as he is another forward with a lot of potential. Galbraith should provide Minot with plenty of points this year as he has the talent to be a top-five pick in previous drafts. It will be interesting to see which winger Minot drafted winds up on the second line, as all three of them are worthy of the first line. 10. YUKON RUSH (from Oslo): Don Draper Yukon’s selection of Draper was the shock of the draft as many scouts had Draper projected as a second round pick at best. However, Yukon sees great potential in this young defenseman and hopes that he can play on the top defensive pairing with Triton Jackson. Experts say that Yukon wanted Draper badly, and since they didn’t have another pick until the third round they decided to pull the trigger.

  13. I unlocked this topic now since it is time. I guess the 24 hour period starts now. Yukon Offers: S37- 500k S38- 500k S39- 500k Waiver Priority
  14. Yukon Offers: S37: 250K S38: 450k
  15. Content: 3/3 - Looks like you have come full circle during you time in Ottawa, as you are back to circumstances similar to how you started. Every VHLM team goes through cycles of being a contender and rebuilding, and I'm sure after a short time of rebuilding Ottawa will be right back in the thick of things. Also, was it necessary to show that painful Leighton goal? Grammar: 2/2 - Couldn't find anything. Appearance: 1/1 - Looks good. Overall: 6/6 - Give me extra points for grading this. Final: 6/6

  20. Yukon is proud to announce that Maxy will be our next assistant GM! Maxy has been very active on the site quietly putting in his work each week and doing point tasks. I chat with Maxy frequently and discovered that he is a GM in the SHL, and would be interested in eventually becoming a VHLM GM as he becomes more connected with the league. He seems like a very promising candidate and I will be excited to work with him.
  21. Yukon 2 gud!
