  3. @v.2 Welcome everyone, We are back for another article of the VSN and this time, we are going to look at the first dynasty of the history of the VHLE. We saw some great dynasty since the creation of the league, the Oslo Storm between S85 and S88, the current Cologne Express since S87, but now we are going to see once again the journey of the very first dynasty of the VHLE, the S80 to S82 Rome Gladiators. During this period of time, the Gladiators made it to the final three times in a row and won the Renaissance Cup in S82. First VHLE Entry Draft Everything started in S80 with the first VHLE Entry Draft, where each team chose their first players that would decide the destiny of their franchise. When you look at the selections of the Rome Gladiators and how much they performed in the following season, you can say that the GM at the time, InstantRockstar, made some pretty good decisions. Indeed, in the first seven rounds, the GM selected Otto Numminen (8th), Baby Bob (17th) Hari Singh Nalwa (20th), Tobias Reinhart (29th), Gabby Dungan (32nd) and Flynn Remy (41st) that would all be really good players for the Gladiators in S80 and even S81 for some of them. He then selected players like Deke Rike (44th), Ben Aky (43rd), Tyler Steel (56th), Russel Dixon (65th) and Luke Spinelli (68th) in the following rounds that would all play for the Rome Gladiators from S80 to S82 and win the Renaissance Cup in S82. S80 In S80, the Rome Gladiators finished second in regular season in a really tight run for a playoff spot, as only five points separated the second and fifth place in the standings. Indeed, the Rome Gladiators finished the season with a record of 36 wins, 28 losses and 8 losses in overtime for a total of 80 points in 72 games and the Cologne Express with 36 wins, 33 losses and 3 losses in overtime for a total of 75 points, only one point short of a playoff spot. The good season of the Rome Gladiators happened, because of the good performances of some key players. Indeed, Tobias Reinhart won the trophy for the best goalie in the league, that would later on be named after Orion D H Chiester IX. On the offensive side, Otto Numminen finished 3rd in the league for the number of points and Baby Bob finished 3rd in goals. In the playoffs, the Rome Gladiators faced the 3rd team in the standings, the Bratislava Watchmen. Before the series started, it was supposed to be a really even one as only one point separated the two teams in the regular season, but the Gladiators completely destroyed the Watchmen in only four little games to advance to the final. In the other semi-final, the Vasteras Iron Eagles upset the winners of the regular season to follow the Italian team in the final. Everything was going as planned for Rome as they led the final 3-1 after four games, but Vasteras won the next three games to win the first ever Renaissance Cup. S81 Once again, in the S81 VHLE Entry Draft, InstantRockstar made some really good draft decisions. In the first and second round, the GM drafted Biggie Cheese (7th) and Robert Wilk (17th), two players that would help the team a lot in S81. Then, in the third round (27th), he drafted the goalie that would help the team win the Cup in S82, Boris Tsezar. S81 was in a way really different than S80 as there were now eight teams in the league after the arrival of the Oslo Storm and the Yukon Rush. However, if you take away the bottom three teams, the standing is really tight, as only eight points separate the first place from the fifth place. This time, the Rome Gladiators took the last spot for the playoffs with a record of 43 wins, 23 losses and 6 losses in overtime for a total of 92 points in 72 games, only one more point than the Bratislava Watchmen who did not make the playoffs. Eight of the thirteen players that played for the Rome Gladiators in the regular season finished with at least a point per game and three of the four best players were defenseman. Indeed, Flynn Remy finished the regular with 93 points in 72 games, Biggie Cheese with 91 points in 72 games and Milk Jugs with 88 in 60 games. The winners of the regular season, the Istanbul Red Wolves were the first opponents of the Rome Gladiators in the playoffs, and it was going to be an easy series. Rome took the lead 3-1 in the series, but they saw Istanbul tie the series by winning the next two games to make the series even 3-3. Then, Flynn Remy in the second overtime of the seventh game scored his third goal of the game to complete his hat trick, and to win the series. The Rome Gladiators were now going to play against the Stockholm Vikings in the final of the Renaissance Cup. However, the Gladiators were no match against the Vikings and lost the final series in only four little games. S82 Before the start of the draft, InstantRockstar, the GM of the Rome Gladiators traded to the Cologne Express their S82 1st and 4th round picks for Arthur Kimura and X Man, two players that will contribute a lot to the victory of the Renaissance Cup. In the draft, the GM drafted DB III, that would become an important piece in the conquest of the Renaissance Cup, in the second round, 13th overall. The Rome Gladiators completed another trade at the start of the regular season with the Istanbul Red Wolves. Rome received the defensemen Drakon Zabastovka in exchange for their S83 1st and 4th round picks. At the trade deadline, the Rome Gladiators made two trades to acquire the forward Raihan Heavems and the defensemen Matty Live. The Gladiators finished third in the league and first in their conference with a record of 45 wins, 21 losses and 6 losses in overtime for a total of 96 points in 72 games. Pekko Viitanen led the team in scoring with 97 points in 72 games and Artair McCloud won the trophy for the best defensemen of the regular season with 91 points in 72 games. In the first round of the playoffs, the Rome Gladiators crossed swords with the Bratislava Watchmen and only needed five games to defeat the Slovak team. In the final, the Gladiators started the series on the wrong foot with three losses in a row against the Cologne Express. However, Rome turned it around and won the next four games to complete the reverse sweep and won their first Renaissance Cup. Thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good off-season and see you in another VSN article!
  4. 3. I have to go with Jimi Jaks, he has 21 points in 15 games and he is leading the team in assists and points. 4. Sadly we are not going to make it to the final, but it would have been nice to play against Helsinki once again. 5. I always dress in the same order and I always listen to the same music.
  5. Welcome everyone, We now entering the best part of the season, THE PLAYOFFS!!! After a really entertaining regular season and a race for the last playoff spot at the end of the season between Rome, Vasteras, and Oslo, we are ready to start the real thing. After winning the last three Renaissance Cup, are the Cologne Express going to be able to defend their title and win a fourth Cup in a row and a fifth Cup in the last six seasons? I guess we are about to find out. Semi-final #1 – Cologne Express (1) vs Rome Gladiators (4) Regular season series: COL wins season series 10-6-1. It does not look like the dynasty of the Cologne Express is about to end and even with a good second half of the season, I am pretty sure that it is not the Rome Gladiators that will stop it. If you look at both team on paper, the Cologne has a better offense thanks to players like Anthony Simmons @Starchychaff, Theo Allard @InstantRockstar, and George Richmond @badcolethetitan. However, Rome can still count on the two highest scoring players of the league in the regular season in BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 and LeBen Aky @Ben_Reformed. Just like with the offense, the defense of the Cologne Express is superior to the one of the Rome Gladiators. Indeed, defensemen like Jordan Bennett @Plate and Joseph Dubois @Dubois are a big help for the Express. In the net, the Cologne Express have once again one of the best goalies in the league in Clark @cl4rk and we know that Clark is even better in the playoffs as he won the last two Florida Man Trophy who is awarded to the most valuable player in the playoffs. In conclusion, the Cologne Express are just too good for the Rome Gladiators, but I still think that they can win a game or two. My prediction: Cologne wins in 5 games Semi-final #2 – Bratislava Watchmen (2) vs Stockholm Vikings (3) Regular season series: BRA wins season series 8-6-1. This semi-final is a little bit different from the other one as the two teams are looking similar on paper. Indeed, the top three forwards of the Watchmen in the regular season (Chris Sanzone @handfullofbubba, Kimi Raikkonen @mattyIceman and Mikko Borisyuk @Minebro) have similar stats to the top three forwards of the Vikings (Riley Martin @Smarch, Alexandre Crosby @hockeyis66 and Isaac mclflopper @sportexperts show) as they have a total of points of 219 and 228 points respectively. It is the same thing with the defensemen with Darko Alexander Malkovich @AColdCanadian and Vlad Von Carstein @Dom for Bratislava and Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts and Hannibal Barca @DreMin15 for Stockholm. In the net, Pipo Popa @npuBeT and Giorgiy Costanzov @Mongoose87 also have similar stats. However, when you look at their team stats in the regular season, the Bratislava Watchmen had a way better season than the Stockholm Vikings. Indeed, Bratislava finished the regular season with a record of 47 wins, 22 losses and 3 losses in overtime for a total of 97 points in 72 games and Stockholm with 35 wins, 31 losses and 6 losses in overtime for 76 points in 72 games. So, it is difficult to predict this series, but I still think that I must go with the Bratislava Watchmen. My prediction: Bratislava wins in 6 games. Final – Cologne Express (1) vs Bratislava Watchmen (2) Regular season series: season series is tied with a record of 6-5-1 each. This series is going to be really tight, and it could honestly go either way. Indeed, when you look at the rosters of the two teams, you can see that they are almost identical, so if a team can end the sequence of the Cologne Express, it is the Bratislava Watchmen. However, when you look at what Cologne did in the last five seasons, it becomes really difficult to go against them in the playoffs. My prediction: Cologne wins the Renaissance Cup in 7 games. Thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all good luck in the playoffs and see you in another VSN article.
  6. Welcome everyone, We are back for another article and just like the theme of the week suggests, we are going to talk about the all-star. Indeed, we are going to assemble two teams of this season’s VHLE All-Stars and the two teams will be composed of the best six forwards, the best four defensemen and the best goalie of each division. The North Division will have the players of the Oslo Storm, the Stockholm Vikings and the Vasteras Iron Eagles and the South Division, the players of the Bratislava Watchmen, the Cologne Express and the Rome Gladiators. Sadly, the game will not be simulated… But, without further a do, your S92 VHLE All-stars: North Division F- Afonya Romanov @DontCallMeCarson F- Miroslav @Zyrok F- Logan Ninefingers @Scurvy (Ninefingers will represent the Oslo Storm at the All-Star game, because the rosters were announce before the trade) F- Riley Martin @Smarch F- Alexandre Crosby @sportexperts show F- Isaac mclflopper @hockeyis66 D- Jean-Marc Lemieux @Gorth D- Hannibal Barca @DreMin15 D- Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts D- Vladimir Kozlov @vladbatton G- Giorgiy Costanzov @Mongoose87 With players from Oslo, Stockholm and Vasteras, the North Division may look a little less good on paper, but when you look at it more carefully, you can see a lot of good players offensively and defensively. In the forward core, there is only one from Oslo and it is Logan Ninefingers (I know he is now with Bratislava, but let’s pretend I announced the rosters before the trade was officialised, because I don’t want to do it over again.). Ninefingers is tie in tenth place for the number of points in the league with 57 (27g, 30a) in 52 games. Afonya Romanov and Miroslav are the two representatives of the Vasteras Iron Eagles in the forward core of the North Division. Romanov and Miroslav are both in the top 10 of the league for the number of points at the ninth and tenth place respectively with 55 and 54 points. Vasteras is currently in a playoffs spot and both players are playing a big part in this. The last three forwards, Riley Martin, Alexandre Crosby and Isaac mclflopper, are all from Stockholm. Riley Martin is currently second in the league with 68 points in 52 games and Alexandre Crosby is really close to the top 10 with exactly a point per game. On his side, Isaac mclflopper was selected more for his defensive talent as he is the second player with the most hit in the league with 168. With the best defenseman in the league as of right now in Guntis Gavilrovs, North Division’s defense is looking really good. Gavilrovs is leading the defensemen in points with 58, the league in hits with 227 and is third in the league for the number of shots blocked with 133. Recently acquired by the Vikings, Hannibal Barca is another defenseman selected for the All-Star game. Barca currently has 36 points in 52 games. Even on a struggling Oslo team, Vladimir Kozlov earned his place on the North Division All-Star team, because of his defensive play. Indeed, Kozlov is first in the league for the shots blocked with 199. The last defenseman is also a representative of the Oslo Storm and just like his teammate in the regular season, Jean-Marc Lemieux is doing really good defensively. Indeed, Lemieux is fourth in the shots blocked category in the league with 132 and sixth for the number of hits (125). Finally, leading the league in the save percentage category with 0.945%, we have the goalie of the Stockholm Vikings Giorgiy Costanzov. Costanzov is also second in the league with a goal against average of 2.28. South Division F- BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 F- LeBen Aky @Ben_Reformed F- Baby Moo Moo @Elvis F- Theo Allard @InstantRockstar F- George Richmond @badcolethetitan F- Anthony Simmons @Starchychaff D- Joseph Dubois @Dubois D- Sunset Moth @McWolf D- Vlad Von Carstein @Dom D- Darko Alexander Malkovich @AColdCanadian G- Clark @cl4rk When you look at the standings, you see that the top two teams are both in the South Division, so it is not a surprise that there are a lot of really good players that were selected on the All-Star team of the South Division. Indeed, all six forwards are in the top 10 of the league for the number of points, all four defensemen are in the top 5 in the same category among the defensemen and the goalie is in the top two of the league. First, we have two of the best three players in the league in terms of points in LeBen Aky and BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson with 69 and 67 points respectively. They are also the best goals scorer in the league with 37 goals for Aky and 29 for BjornaBjorkson. Second, the last four forwards selected for the VHLE All-Star game are all playing for the Cologne Express. Baby Moo Moo (66), Anthony Simmons (63), Theo Allard (61) and George Richmond (57) are respectively fourth, fifth, sixth and eight in the league for the number of points. In addition, Simmons and Richmond both have 25 goals and are in the top 10 of the league in this category. Finally, Moo Moo, Allard and Simmons are in the top 10 of the league for the number of assists. If you take a look at the defense of the South Division, you see that it has nothing to envy to its offense. Indeed, their defensive will be led by the two defensemen of the Bratislava Watchmen, Vlad Von Carstein and Darko Alexander Malkovich. The two defensemen are respectively second and third among the defensemen for the number of points with 49 and 48 points. After, we have the defenseman of the Rome Gladiators, Sunset Moth, who is fifth among the defensemen with 41 points. Moth also blocked 170 shots in addition to his 48 hits. As the last one, there is the defenseman from the Cologne Express, Joseph Dubois. Dubois currently has 47 points, good for the fourth place in this category. He is also fifth in the league for the number of shots blocked with 128. Finally, the goalie of the Cologne Express, Clark, will be in the net of the South Division. Clark is second in the league with a save percentage of 0.939% and first in the league for the number of goals against average with only 1.86. My Prediction Without a doubt, there are really good players on both teams, and it could really go either way. However, I must go with the South Division, because they really have the best of the best. My prediction: South Division 5-3 North Division MVP: BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson Thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all good luck for the end of the regular season and see you in another VSN article. P.S. feel free to write who you think should have been named on one of the All-Star team if you disagree with me.
  7. 1. If I am being honest, I am very disappointed in our season so far. Indeed, we won the Cup last season and now it is not even sure we will make the playoffs. I know we can, but we have to do better. 2. We can change the lines or the strategies. I don't think there is really more we can do. 3. It would be a good idea in my opinion to find a good second defensemen or a third forward. 4. Moscow! Last season they finished second-to-last and now, they are sixth in the league. They have a really young team and their rebuild is doing really good. 5. A couple of NHL teams tried the chrome helmet look, but for most of them it is pretty awful. So, chrome blue can look good, but matte blue is more of a safe choice in my opinion. 6. 1-New York Rangers, 2-New Jersey Devils, 3-New York Islanders, 4-Philadelphia Flyers.
  8. @Zetterberg Welcome everyone, To begin with, I would like to congratulate Sjin and the Cologne Express for their S91 Renaissance Cup. It was their third in a row and their fourth in the last five seasons. A lot happened during the last off-season, trades, FA signings and players getting called up in the VHL, so we can see teams having a better or worse season than expected. #1 Bratislava Watchmen Offense rank: 1st Defense rank: 2nd Goalie rank: 3rd The Bratislava Watchmen only made the playoffs one season since S87 and after some difficulties last season, the team looks stronger than ever and ready to compete. With the help of veterans like Luke Glendenning @ColeMrtz, Mikko Borisyuk @Minebro, James MacAvoy @Enraged and Darko Alexander Malkovich @AColdCanadian, Bratislava is really well equipped to help the young rookies like Kimi Raikkonen @mattyIceman, Karol Lamb @dlamb, Vlad Von Carstein @Dom and Pipo Popa @npuBeT have a good season and lead the team to the promised land. The Watchmen are going to be a very scarry team at the end of the season when everybody will be ready for the playoffs. #2 Cologne Express Offense rank: 2nd Defense rank: 1st Goalie rank: 2nd After winning their third Renaissance Cup in a row, the Cologne Express are not expected to look back. Indeed, the Express once again have a really good roster and are going to compete for one of the first spot of the standings in the regular season. Cologne can count on returning players such as Theo Allard @InstantRockstar, Anthony Simmons @Starchychaff, Jordan Bennett @Plate, Joseph Dubois @Dubois and Clark @cl4rk to show the way to the young rookies, like George Richmond @badcolethetitan, Adi Dassler @BOOM and Vanellope von Schweetz @Arce , that going to learn what it is like to play in a winning culture. #3 Stockholm Vikings Offense rank: 3rd Defense rank: 6th Goalie rank: 4th When you look at Stockholm’s roster, you see two things. First, you see that the Vikings will not have any difficulties scoring goals with forwards like Riley Martin @Smarch, Alexandre Crosby @hockeyis66 and Isaac mcflopper @sportexperts show. Second, Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts and Giorgiy Costanzov @Mongoose87 will have to play on top of their head all season long if they don’t want to allow six goals per game. So, Stockholm’s offense can hope to reach the ones of the top teams, but if no change to the defense is made by the GM @Doomsday, I just don’t see how the Vikings can compete with teams like Bratislava and Cologne. #4 Vasteras Iron Eagles Offense rank: 6th Defense rank: 3rd Goalie rank: 1st After winning two King’s Cup in a row, the Vasteras Iron Eagles lost a couple of really important pieces that got called up in the VHL. Therefore, Vasteras is not a top tier anymore, but I can still see them compete for a playoff spot if their goalie, Karl Herzlich @LastGoon007, and their top defenseman, Winston Dixon jr @Rjdixon01 and Hannibal Barca @DreMin15, can carry the team defensively. Even if the Iron Eagles offense is not the best in the league, players like Miroslav @Zyrok and Tom Dufour @Cookie can still have an impact and help the team offensively. #5 Rome Gladiators Offense rank: 4th Defense rank: 4th Goalie rank: 5th The Rome Gladiators have not missed the playoffs since S87 and like the Vasteras Iron Eagles, lost a couple of players during the off-season. This means that Rome will not be at the top of the standings at the end of the season, but if they play very well, I can see them make the playoffs. Led by their Swedish captain, BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10, the offense of the Rome Gladiators can also count on Behrens Minion @UnknownMinion and LeBen Aky @Ben_Reformed to produce offensively and give the team a chance to win enough games to make the playoffs. #6 Oslo Storm Offense rank: 5th Defense rank: 5th Goalie rank: 6th After being one of the best team in the league from S85 to S89, the Oslo Storm entered a rebuild in S90 and after two painful seasons, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel in Oslo. Even if Oslo is currently ranked sixth in this ranking, the Storm is really not far away from the Rome Gladiators and even from the Vasteras Iron Eagles and the last playoffs spot. If they want to make the playoffs, they are players such as Logan Ninefingers @Scurvy, Jussi Jokinenegg @HearnNation67 and liam oinas @ojje that will have to step up and carry the team on their shoulders. Thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all good luck in the regular season and see you in another VSN article. P.S. feel free to write your own predictions in the comments if you disagree with me.

  14. RONAN LAVELLE TROPHY The Ronan Lavelle Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the most valuable player during the regular season. The S91 winner of the Ronan Lavelle trophy is Nick Sansoe @Tipskid97. After playing in the VHL for one season, Nick Sansoe came back in the VHLE and just dominated the league. Indeed, he finished the regular season with 44 goals, 50 assists and 94 points in 72 games. He also had a differential of +20, 521 shots and 97 hits. He led the league in points, was second in goals and shots on goal and was 6th in assits. The other nominees were Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty and Spanish Moon Moth @Renomitsu. Congratulations!!. It is all for me, thanks everyone for being here and see you next season for the S92 VHLE awards ceremony.
  15. FLORIDA MAN TROPHY The Florida Man Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the most valuable player in the playoffs. The S91 winner of the Florida Man Trophy is Clark @cl4rk. For a second season in a row, the MVP of the playoff is Clark. In 9 games, Clark had 8 wins, 1 loss with a save percentage of 0.951%, a goals against average of 1,55 and 2 shutouts. Cologne's hoalie just carried his team to the Renaissance Cup and if it was not for him, the Express wouls have had a much harder time. The other nominees were Jospeh Dubois @Dubois of the Cologne Express and Thor Reingaard @N0HBDY of the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Congratulations to all of you!
  16. THADIUS SALES TROPHY The Thadius Sales Trophy is awarded to the general manager deemed to be the best in the VHLE. The S91 winner of the Thadius Sales Trophy is Sjin @Sjin. Once again, it was a pretty easy choice as Sjin just won his third Renissance Cup in a row. Indeed, Sjin is doing incredibly well with the Express both on the ice and in the locker room. We can now say without any restraint that the Cologne Express are now a dynasty! Well done Sjin!
  17. ORION D H CHIESTER IX TROPHY The Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the top goalie in the VHLE. The S91 winner of the Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy is Dalkr Vidarsson @KaleebtheMighty. There was not much discussion to make for this one as Dalkr Vidarsson was a really unanimous choice. Indeed, Vidarsson played the entire regular season with the Rome Gladiators and had a record of 39 wins, 18 losses and 6 overtime losses with a 0.942 save percentage and a 2.09 goals against average. Rome's goalie led the starters in wins, save percentage and goals against average. The other nominees were Olober Syko @Spartan and Karl Herzlich @LastGoon007. Congratulations!
  18. JAKE THUNDER TROPHY The Jake Thunder Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the top overall defenseman in the VHLE. The S91 winner of the Jake Thunder trophy is Rin Kagamine @Rin. This trophy was the most difficult to attributed as their was so many really good defensemen this season. However, Rin Kagamine did a little bit better than the other. Kagamine had 14 goals, 45 assists and 59 points in 72 games with 124 hits and 287 shots blocked. Rin played for the Oslo Storm and this is why they have a differential of -46, but even with a really bad team, they found the way to do really good offensively and defensively. The other nominees were Celise Pereira @asteria, Jordan Bennett @Plate, Leif Reingaard @Zetterberg and Mina @Baozi. Congrats to all of them!
  19. ALDWIN CRAIG TROPHY The Aldwin Craig Trophy is awarded to the player deemed the best two-way forward in the VHLE. The S91 winner of the Adwin Craig trophy is Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard. Grimgor Ironhide was a part of the incredible first line of the Stockholm Vikings. In addition to his 35 goals, 47 assits and 82 points in 72 games, Ironhide had really impressive 361 hits in the regular season. He also had 417 shots, a differential of +24 and 53 shots blocked as a forward. The other nominees were Chris Sanzone @handfullofbubba of the Stockholm Vikings and Thor Reingaard @N0HBDY of the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Congratulations to all of you!
  20. KING'S CUP The King's Cup is awarded to the VHLE team with the best regular season record. The S91 winners of the King's Cup are the Vasteras Iron Eagles! @Zetterberg For the second seasons in a row, the Vasteras Iron Eagles are the winners of the King's Cup, and just like last season, they won it with 94 points (42 wins, 20 losses, 10 overtime losses). With the great management of their GM, the Iron Eagles dominated the standings for another season.
  21. RENAISSANCE CUP @Triller The Renaissance Cup is awarded to the playoff champions of the VHLE. The S91 winners of the Renaissance Cup are the Cologne Express! @Sjin After ending the regular season second in the standings with 43 wins and 90 points in 72 games, the Cologne Express went on to win their third Renaissance Cup in a row and their fourth in five seasons. In the first round, Cologne faced the Rome Gladiators and without any difficulty won four games in a row to sweep them and make it to the final. In the final, the Express won the series in five games to complete an incredible season.
