  1. Welcome everyone, Another start to the season means another VSN Presents: VHLE season preview! When you look closely at all the rosters you can easily separate the team in two groups. The first one is composed of the three best teams in the league, that will without a doubt finish at the top of the standings, the Cologne Express, the Rome Gladiators and the Stockholm Vikings. The other one, is composed of three teams that are currently in a rebuilding stage, the Bratislava Watchmen, the Oslo Storm and the Vasteras Iron Eagles. #1 Cologne Express Offense rank: 1st Defense rank: 3rd Goalie rank: 2nd Once again and with no real surprise, the Cologne Express are going to finish the season at the top of the standing. Cologne is a really good team all around and does not seem to have any real weakness. Indeed, the Express has a really good mix of veterans, composed of Alexandros Mograine @sliceruser, BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 and Joseph Dubois @Dubois, and of rookies, composed of Maverick Goncalves @leandrofg, Maple Dogwood @dogwoodmaple and the goalie Soju @Frank. The Cologne Express are going to be really dangerous this season. #2 Rome Gladiators Offense rank: 2nd Defense rank: 2nd Goalie rank: 4th After two pretty tough season where Rome finished 4th and 5th in the league, the Italian team is now ready to compete and try to finish at the top of the standings. With forwards like Nathan Ecker @Nathan_8, Pombo @samx, Trey Daniels @Tdan04 and Vanuza Kolesinka @chikn, the Gladiators are going to be really dangerous offensively this season. The only weakness I can find on Rome’s roster is in the net, since they don’t currently have a real number 1 goaltender. However, I can see Roger Eagles @Greg_Di becoming that goalie if he continues to improve like he currently is. In addition, the Gladiators can count on defensemen like Jillian Woods @jacobcarson877 and Erik Thorvaldsson @Tetricide to help their young goalie. #3 Stockholm Vikings Offense rank: 3rd Defense rank: 1st Goalie rank: 3rd Even if I believe that the Stockholm Vikings are a little bit behind the Cologne Express and the Rome Gladiators, I can also see them causing a surprise and finish in the top 2. With the best defense in the league led by Felicia Hardy @JCarson and Lazlo Holmes @Gustav and their returning goalie Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen @Snussu, Stockholm is going to be tough to score against. However, their difficulty will probably be to score goals, so Dan jr @Danzo, Jacob Smith Jr @jacobaa19 and Wayne Shotzky @Kenamatic will have to step up and lead the forward core. #4 Bratislava Watchmen Offense rank: 4th Defense rank: 4th Goalie rank: 6th After winning the Renaissance Cup in S92, the Bratislava Watchmen entered a rebuild the following season and are still in this process. This season is going to be another one of learning for the Watchmen, but I can still see them causing some surprises here and there. Indeed, Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito is definitely going to be an incredible player this season and Aeschylus Jigglejawns CXXXVII II @.sniffuM is another forward that will help the team offensively. Defensively, Bollos de Trueno @Thunder and Andrew Skilton @ace_five_ will have to be incredible at the blue line for Bratislava if they want to compete each match. #5 Oslo Storm Offense rank: 5th Defense rank: 5th Goalie rank: 5th The Oslo Storm won the Renaissance Cup last season and lost a lot of players that got called up in the VHL, so just like the Bratislava Watchmen, this season is going to be one of learning for Oslo. Chris Reynolds Jr @Crstats23 and Ivan Ivanov @KmaddFPS are going to lead the offensive core this season in Oslo. At the blue line, kodie Curran @Battlepopcorn is going to be the general of the Norwegian team. #6 Vasteras Iron Eagles Offense rank: 6th Defense rank: 6th Goalie rank: 1st Just like the Bratislava Watchmen and the Oslo Storm, Vasteras is now in a rebuilding stage after a couple of seasons of being good. The season is going to be tough in Vasteras, but there are still players like Matthew Highmore @NineIQ v2 and Swinsola @Swinsola that can make a difference on the ice each night. In addition, the Iron Eagles have the best goalie tandem of the league, composed of Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish and Ondrej Vencko @Mutti, and we can count on them to steal some games this season. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good regular season and see you in another VSN article!

In the first round, the Strom faced the Stockholm Vikings. After winning the first three games, the Oslo Strom lost game 4 3-2 in Stockholm, but won game five to win the semi-final in five little games. Their oppenent in the final was going to be the Vasteras Iron Eagles who just won against the Cologne Express in six games. After the first two games in Oslo, the series was tied 1-1, but Oslo won the next three games to easily win the Renaissance Cup final in five games. Congratulations to them!!

  14. The Rome Gladiators are offering a one season contract extension to Piston Maicupp @MandyManiac. Just comment to accept!
  15. The Rome Gladiators are offering a one season contract extension to Trey Daniels @Tdan04. Just comment to accept!
  16. The Rome Gladiators are offering a one season contract extension to Thijs Mooij @Thijs. Just comment to accept!
  17. 1. I am not sure, but I think that the Seattle Bears will win the Continental Cup in 7 games. 2. I strongly believe that we can compete next season and I also believe that we can win another Cup. 3. I currently have a lot going on with real life stuff (school, work, etc.), so I will be a little bit less active in the next couple of week, but I will still do the minimum. 4. I don't think there is much to do, I just think the management needs to sign everyone and keep the team like this. 5. Yes, this season's draft is really good and I think we can get a couple of good prospects out of it. 6. I think they need to understand that they need good defensemen if they want to win the Cup and not only forwards that they are paying way too much.
  18. 1. It did concern me, but what really concerns me is that we lost in ONLY four games to D.C. in the first round. What happened?????? 2. Well, my original was going to be Seattle, but now I guess I have to go with D.C. 3. Yes, if a team wins two Cups with the same core, we can call it a dynasty. So, if we win a Cup next season we can call it a dynasty. 4. I really don't know, but if I have to take a guess, I will go with Steve Lattimer. 5. The beginning, so between S1 and like S10-15. 6. I am really not gaming a lot, but when I play, I am playing at NHL 24.
  19. Welcome everyone, The regular season ended a couple of days ago, so it means that it is now PLAYOFFS TIME!! Indeed, the playoffs started Friday and this post-season will be really exciting as only four points separated the top three teams during the regular season. Semi-final #1 – Oslo Storm (1) vs Stockholm Vikings (4) Regular season series: OSL wins 9-3-0. This series is probably the easiest to predict since there is clearly a better team on paper and on the ice. Indeed, Oslo finished the season with a record of 49 wins, 20 losses and 3 overtime losses for a total of 101 points in 72 games and Stockholm with 29 wins, 38 losses and 5 overtime losses for 63 points and 20 fewer wins than Oslo. Plus, Oslo will count on three of the four best players of the regular season in Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles, Antonia Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica and Jussi Jokinenegg @HearnNation67 who ended up with 89, 87 and 83 points respectively. They also have two of the six highest scoring defensemen in the league with Benjamin Abenduct @Schnee (75) and Swinsola @Swinsola(71). If Stockholm wants to have a chance in this series to win even a single game, they will need the help of the sixth highest scorer of the league and the best defenseman in the league, Marty Byrd @Marty B, to play on top of his head during the entire series. Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen @Snussu will also be an important piece for the Sweden team in this series. VSN Prediction: Oslo wins in 5 games. Semi-final #2 – Cologne Express (2) vs Vasteras Iron Eagles (3) Regular season series: COL wins 7-6-0. The Cologne Express finished the regular season with a record of 48 wins, 20 losses and 4 losses in overtime for a total of 100 points in 72 games and the Vasteras Iron Eagles with 46 wins, 21 losses and 5 overtime losses for 97 points in 72 games. As you can see, both teams finished the regular season with really similar stats. The big difference between the two teams is that Cologne is more an offensive team and Vasteras is more a defensive team. Indeed, Cologne have three players with more than a point per game in BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10, Alexandros Mograine @sliceruser and Tyrece the beast @beanhead420, against only one (Gianfranco Del Rocco @Victor) for Vasteras. On the other hand, Vasteras have four players with more than a hundred hits and a hundred shots blocked (Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher, Winston Dixon jr @Rjdixon01, Sunseth Moth @McWolf and Hezeus Ohmontegue-Steinhardt X @Sisyphus) against only one for Cologne (Scrungle Bungle @Novanod). Finally, both teams can count on great goaltender in Clark @cl4rk for Cologne and Ondrej Vencko @Mutti for Vasteras. When you look at it, you can see two pretty different teams with similar record, so everything will be decided on the ice. VSN Prediction: Cologne wins in 7 games. Final – Oslo Storm (1) vs Cologne Express (2) Regular season series: OSL wins 8-7-1. This is going to be a really excting final, but it is also an almost impossible one to predict. Indeed, only one point is separating the two teams in the standings, Oslo (61) have a better goal differential of only two goals and both teams won eight games against each other in the regular season. You can see that it is really tight between the two teams, so everything can happen. However, even if it is really close, Oslo wins in every category, so this is why I give a little edge to Oslo. VSN Prediction: Oslo wins in 7 games. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all good playoffs and see you in another VSN article!
  20. 1. I think we can do it, but the real objective is to end the season with a win and the Renaissance Cup. 2. It will be very tough to score more than 279 goals this season, but it would be really nice to reach 280 goals. 3. I believe we are going to have to wait a long time before seeing either of them, but we are going to wee a 100-assist scorer before. 4. White or black, I don't see any other color that would look good on the jersey. 5. He will have to have a really good end of the season, but I think he can end up with 50 goals flush. 6. Boston vs Toronto is going to be a really fun matchup and even if I will watch the game anyway I think that the Rangers will eat the Capitals alive.
  21. Welcome to Rome @lilchrist and @The goat of hockey and good luck in Cologne @MSouthworth, it was a pleasure having you in the locker room. Here is the link to to the locker room for the new Gladiators: https://discord.gg/MuSAKCzR
