  1. @ace_five_ Welcome everyone, We are here for the first season of the VHLM without the VHLE in over 15 seasons. So, this season is going to be really special and different of the other ones. I did the season preview of the VHLE for a couple of seasons and I think I can easily say that this season preview is one of the most difficult one to do. Indeed, the teams are pretty much all similar, so it is really possible that you may disagree with me. #1 Ottawa Lynx With the VHLE now dead, the Ottawa got really lucky and River Harrington @kirbithan and Brandon Petan Jr @sadie, their 2nd and 4th pick overall respectively in the S95 VHLM draft, are back with the team for a 3rd season. In addition of Harrington and Petan Jr, Ottawa can count on two veterans in Ocean Codoller @FreshOceanCod and Masa Akimoto @Hokikeijot to solidify their offensive and defensive core. In the net, the Lynx can count on two really young goalies in Vadlimir Trunov @qripll and Dr Victor von Doom @Garsh who will continue to grow and help the team as the season go. #2 Philadelphia Reapers Just like the Ottawa Lynx, the Philapelphia Reapers got the chance to keep key players, like Youre Not Fucking Retiring @twists and Bret Weier @Quanack, because of the end of the VHLE. Players like Taylor Swift @lilchrist and Wefernardo Mackingikus @vincentlg2007 are going to be really important to make the froward core stronger. In defense, Einar Mathiesen @xsjack and Cody Toland @ctoland102 are without a doubt going to be the quarterbacks of this defense. Onyekachukwu Chidieber Oluwaseun @TenIQ is going to be the veteran presence in front of the net. #3 Mississauga Hounds The Mississauga Hounds are one of the teams with the fewest number of players in their roster. Indeed, with only six forwards and four defensemen, the Hounds don't have a lot of depth player, but at least they can count on solid players. Indeed, Nikita Yolishev @Joel Main and Filip Zinek @FiZi are going to be leaders of the team offensively and Slava Kovalenko @OblivionWalker and Kurt Bachmann @Blutch will lead the team defensively. Bartholomew Lorequavius @jaypc8237 is going to be the man of trust for the Mississauga Hounds to keep the net. #4 Mexico City Kings The Mexico City Kings are probably the strangest team of the VHLM. Indeed, on paper the Kings have the worst offense ofin the league, but also the best defense and one of the best goalies in the league in Chazz Micheal Micheals @Xflexz. The defense of Mexico is led by two of the best defensemen of the league, Alagsantere Groenvold @VattghernCZ and Wadyslaw Mintus @mintusaurus. The only problem of Mexico City I see, is their lack of super stars on the 1st forward line. Indeed, the Kings offense is filled with depth and 2nd line forwards, but if the team can improve their attack, they will be unstoppable. #5 Las Vegas Aces When you look at the Las Vegas roster, it is completely the opposite of the Mexico City Kings. Indeed, the Las Vegas Aces have one of the best offenses and one of the worst defenses, but they slso have one of the best goalies, if not THE best in Deadpanda @Alex. The offense of Las Vegas is led by the veteran Marek Nowaczyk @Chillybro and Kevin OConnor @Luke033. For the defense, it is struggling, but it is also really young and I see the rising stars Albin Aldgard @animal74 and Manuel Ceson @dylanjj37 becoming better as the season goes. #6 Miami Marauders The Miami Marauders are on paper the team with the best depth forwards and this is what is going to help them this season. In addition, the forward core can count on veterans to lead them like Elf shoes @ELF_SH0ES and Anthony Simmons II @Starchychaff. The goaltender Draw Mac @okochastar will have to be really good this season if they want to keep the team in the playoffs race as the defense is very young and will need some support. Narnia Shaw @Dabnad and Dog Jagr @koty_k are both promising players and will continue to improve during the season. #7 Houston Bulls The Houston Bulls are pretty much in the middle of the league at each positions. Indeed, they don't really have any super star, but they can count on some good depth at each position. On offense, Robin Sierra @ethanjaeda and David Vanhousen @David VanHousen will be the leaders of the team and on defense, Scrungle Bungle @Novanod will have to step up as the quarterback of this unit. The situation in front of the net is probably what will cause problems to the Houston Bulls. However, I can still see this team causing some shockwaves this season. #8 San Diego Marlins The next three teams are teams that I don't really see making the playoffs or having a long run in it and that will be in a rebuilding stage this year. In my opinion, San Diego is the only one of the three that I can see causing some surprises. Indeed, they can count on veterans like Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450 and Nicholas Sunderbruch Jr @NickSunderbruch on offense and Blaze Thunderstrike @eaglesfan036 on defense. In the net, they have a really good goalie in Ricky LaFleur @DarkSpyro that will continue to develop and be really good sooner rather than later. #9 Halifax 21st The biggest weakness of the Halifax 21st is definitively going to be their depth players on offense and defense. Indeed, the 21st can still count on some super stars, but the team is only carried by two or three players. Halifax can count on one of the best goalies of the league in Jon Webber Jr @Webberj and I would not be surprised if he steals a couple of games all by himself this season. Boris Bone-Breaker @RileyL will also have to be really good defensively and offensively if they want to have a chance to win some games this season. #10 Saskatoon Wild The season will be long in Saskatoon and I don't see them winning a lot of games in the regular season. However, the team is really young and can count on some rising stars like Brigitta Sandstrom @Acydburn and CJ Daniels @xNJDevilsFanx who will help them in the upcoming seasons. If Saskatoon wants to win some games this season, Drosmis Sarkanis @Mr Bohannan will have to play on top of his head all season long. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good regular season and see you in another VSN article!
  2. Let's go Legion, let's get that Cup!!!!!!
  3. Thanks for the trade talks @Alex and welcome to London @Firekiss! Here is the link to the locker room: https://discord.gg/54cpAuhD
  4. THADIUS SALES TROPHY The Thadius Sales Trophy is awarded to the general manager deemed to be the best in the VHLE. The S95 winner of the Thadius Sales Trophy @Sjin! Congratulations to Sjin for his third Thadius Sales Trophy of his career! Sjin was at the head of the greatest dynasty the VHLE ever saw and was probably the best GM the VHLE ever saw, so I wish you the best of luck for the future and I hope that we will see each other again in the VHL! The votes: Sjin (Cologne) 3/6, @qripll (Vasteras) 2/6, @Doomsday 1/6 (Stockholm)
  5. FLORIDA MAN TROPHY The Florida Man Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the most valuable player in the playoffs. The S95 winner of the Florida Man Trophy is Jon Webber III @Webberj! Just like in the regular season Jon Webber III was really important for the Cologne Express in the playoffs. Indeed, he had a record of 8 wins, 2 losses, and 1 loss in overtime in 11 games. All that while maintaining a save percentage of 0.924% and a goals against average of 2.0. The votes: Jon Webber III 3/6, Baby Moo Moo 2/6 @Elvis, Ondrej Vencko 1/6 @Mutti, Einar Mathiesen 0/6 @xsjack
  6. RONAN LAVELLE TROPHY The Ronan Lavelle Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the most valuable player during the regular season. The S95 winner of the Ronan Lavelle trophy is Ahsoka Tano @Aimee ! Just like with the Jake Thunder Trophy, the Ronan Lavelle Trophy was also pretty unanimous. Like I said before, Ahsoka Tano completly dominated the VHLE this season and finished the regular season with 101 points in 72 games. Tano led the defenseman, but also the league in assists and points. The votes: Ahsoka Tano 6/6, Steve French 0/6 @Seabass, Dorji Khan 0/6 @Oddpurplefly, Jon Webber III 0/6 @Webberj
  7. JAKE THUNDER TROPHY The Jake Thunder Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the top overall defenseman in the VHLE. The S95 winner of the Jake Thunder Trophy is Ahsoka Tano @Aimee ! This trophy was probably the easiest one to vote for as Ahsoka Tano was totally dominant this season. Indeed, Tano finished the regular season with 28 goals, 73 assists and 101 points in 72 games as a defensemen. They also had 67 hits, 202 shots blocked and a differential of +15. Ahsoka Tano led the defenseman in points and assists and finished fourth in the league for the number of shots blocked. The votes: Ahsoka Tano 6/6, Samsayz I-Smell 0/6 @CaptainSB, Blaze Thunderstrike 0/6 @eaglesfan036.
  8. ORION D H CHIESTER IX TROPHY The Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy is awarded to the player deemed to be the top goalie in the VHLE. The S95 winner of the Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy is Jon Webber III @Webberj! In his rookie season in the VHLE, Jon Webber III wins the second individual award of his career, as he won the Benoit Devereux Trophy for the top goalie in the VHLM last season. This season in the VHLE, Webber III had 44 wins, 11 losses, and 1 loss in overtime while having a save percentage of 0.932%, a goals against average of 1.82 and 7 shutouts. The votes: Jon Webber III 3/6, Hugo Boss 2/6 @Dil, Spider Panda 1/6 @Ricer13
  9. ALDWIN CRAIG TROPHY The Aldwin Craig Trophy is awarded to the player deemed the best two-way forward in the VHLE. The S95 winner of the Adwin Craig trophy is Steve French @Seabass! After three seasons in the VHLE, Steve French finally wins the first award of his career. He finished the regular season, with 51 goals, 49 assists and 100 points in 72 games. He also had 163 hits and 38 shots blocked while maintaining a differential of +32. French finished the regular season first in goals scored and second in points behind Ahsoka Tano. The votes: Steve French 5/6, Dan jr 1/6 @Danzo, Tim Robinson 0/6 @Tim Robinson
  10. RENAISSANCE CUP @Triller The Renaissance Cup is awarded to the playoff champions of the VHLE. The S95 winners of the Renaissance Cup are the Cologne Express! @Sjin For the second season in a row, the sixth season of the last nine, and the sixth season in their history, the Cologne Express are once again the winners of the Renaissance Cup in the VHLE. In the first round, the Cologne Express faced the Stockholm Vikings who finished fourth in the regular season with 77 points in 72 games. The fight was not really fair and they did not give a lot of chances to the VIkings. After six games, the series was over and the Cologne Express were going to the final. After causing a surprise in the semi-final against the Bratislava Watchmen, the Vasteras Iron Eagles were the opponents of the Express in the final of the Renaissance Cup, but unfortunately they were no match and after five little games, the Cologne Express were the champions of the Renaissance Cup.
  11. Welcome everyone, it is time for the last ceremony award of the VHLE, so good luck to everybody and I wish you all a good ceremony!! KING'S CUP The King's Cup is awarded to the VHLE's team with the best regular season record. The S95 winners of the King's Cup are the Cologne Express! @Sjin For the second season in a row and the third in the last four seasons, the Cologne Express are the winner of the regular season and the King's Cup in the VHLE. The Cologne Express finished the regular season with a record of 51 wins, 19 losses and 2 losses in overtime for a total of 104 points in 72 games. Cologne also finished with 12 more points than the Bratislava Watchmen who finished second in the standings.

  15. 1. I don't think there is, but it is still fun to think there is, so I hope that there is. 2. Probably a vanilla cake with maple syrup or something like that. 3. It was really our strenght all season long and especially in the playoffs. 4. I don't really follow the NFL, so I don't know if some teams are underperforming or overperforming, but it is always fun when the parity is high 5. I played in the first ever VHLE season in S80 with my first player and we lost in the final with the Rome Gladiators, so I would say that this was probably my favourite season in the VHLE. 6. I don't know if it is the best month, but it is the month where the NHL starts, so it is pretty cool.
  16. 1. I don't know what we did better in the playoffs, but clearly the Bears were not at our level and we won the series in only 5 little games. 2. Chips is always a win, but my favorite are probably the Doritos or BBQ. 3. It was not bad, but I feel like after a 111 points season, 77 points is not enough, so I would that I am a little disappointed by my offensive production. 4. I know that a lot of people are hating on Linkin Park and their new singers, but I personnaly really love their new singers. 5. Before the start of the series I would have said Moscow, but since they are already eliminated, I will say Riga. 6. Yes I believe in it, but I don't really respect it lol. Like I know the rule, but I never count to 5 seconds.
  17. @ace_five_ Welcome everyone, As you probably already know, two days ago was the end of the last regular season of the VHLE as it won't come back in S96. This also means that these playoffs are going to be the last one and we are going to see a last VHLE champion. The first round will see the Cologne Express face the Stockholm Vikings and the Bratislava Watchmen play against the Vasteras Iron Eagles. So, who is going to win the Renaissance Cup for the last time? Semi-final #1 – Cologne Express (1) vs Stockholm Vikings (4) Regular season series: COL wins regular season series 10-5-0. I feel like I am constantly repeating myself, but once again, the Cologne Express finished the regular season first in the league with a record of 51 wins, 19 losses ans 2 losses in overtime for a total of 104 points in 72 games. It was also the third 100 points season in the last four seasons for the Cologne Express. On the other hand, we have the Stockholm Vikings who fought for a playoff spot during the season and finished fourth in the standings with a record of 35 wins, 30 losses and 7 losses in overtime for a total of 77 points in 72 games. The Cologne Express can count on multiple veterans with a lot of playoff experience like BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10, Baby Moo Moo @Elvis and Joseph Dubois @Dubois. For the Vikings, it is the rookies that are leading the team; indeed, Phil Sakic @Phil, Samsayz I-Smell @CaptainSB and Masa Akimoto @Hokikeijot are all among the leaders of the squad. In conclusion, I believe that Cologne is just way too good and even if Stockholm will cause a surprise in one or two games, the Express are going to win this series. VSN Prediction: Cologne wins in 6 games. Semi-final #2 – Bratislava Watchmen (2) vs Vasteras Iron Eagles (3) Regular season series: VAS wins regular season series 7-6-1. For this second semi-final series, we have two completely different teams. On one side, we have the Bratislava Watchmen who are at the top of the standings since the beginning of the season, but are slowing down a little bit since the trade deadline and ended the regular season with 44 wins, 24 losses and 4 losses in overtime for 92 points in 72 games. In the other locker room, we have the Vasteras Iron Eagles who struggled at the beginning of the season, but had a strong last week to qualify for the playoffs with a record of 41 wins, 29 losses and 2 overtime losses for a total of 84 points in 72 games. For the Bratislava Watchmen, Dorji Khan @Oddpurplefly, Steve French @Seabass and Ocean Codoller @FreshOceanCod are going to be really important offensively. Hugo Boss @Dil will have to be really good in this series, because Bratislava is struggling a little bit defensively. Unlike the Watchmen, the Vasteras Iron Eagles are a much better team defensively with Billy Joel @The goat of hockey, Alphonse Desjardins @Anthique, Chuck E Cheese @diacope 2 and Ondrej Vencko @Mutti in the net. This series is without a doubt going to be really tight, but we think that the Vasteras Iron Eagles have a slight advantage. VSN Prediction: Vasteras wins in 7 games. Final – Cologne Express (1) vs Vasteras Iron Eagles (3) Regular season series: COL wins regular season series 10-4-0. For the last final of the Renaissance Cup, we believe that the Cologne Express will face the Vasteras Iron Eagles. On paper, the Cologne Express look a bit better than the Vasteras Iron Eagles and they were the best team in the league defensively. Offensively, both teams did pretty much the same, Vasteras may have a slight advantage. So, will Cologne win their sixth Renaissance Cup or will Vasteras will win their second? We give the advantage to the Cologne Express. VSN Prediction: Cologne wins in 6 games. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all good playoffs and see you in another VSN article!
  18. Goodbye VHLE, I will always remember you and Rome will always have a special place in my heart!
  19. 1. I don't know a lot of movie quotes, but I like this one, "You're weird, I like you!" - Up 2. I am not doing as good as last season, but I am not doing bad. so I guess that I am kind of happy. 3. I am from Québec, so obvioulsy the Québec Nordiques lol. 4. If we want to make a big run in the playoffs this season, we have to win every possible games, so these games should be easy win. 5. I don't think we should be focusing too much on that, we just have to play one game at a time and try to win it every time. 6. Obvioulsy me, but I would prefer to play Batman if I could choose. But seriously, I don't know, maybe Henry Cavill could be a good James Bond.
  20. @Ricer13 Welcome everyone, A couple of days ago, we passed the 36 games mark in the regular season, so we are now officially in the second half of the season. In this article, we are going to look at each team and see where they are at right before the trade deadline. Are they buyers? Are they sellers? #1 Bratislava Watchmen Offense rank: 1st (203 GF) Defense rank: T-3rd (142 GA) The incredible start to the season of the Bratislava Watchmen, with a record of 11-1-1 in their first 13 games, gave them the first place in the standings at the beginning of the season and they never lost that place. Even if the team is struggling a little bit defensively, the Watchmen are compensating offensively as they are without a doubt the best team in this category as they have six players with over a point per game and five are in the top ten of the league in scoring. Ocean Codoller (77p) @FreshOceanCod, Dorji Khan (70p) @Oddpurplefly, Steve French (70p) @Seabass, Filip Zinek (59p) @FiZi and Robin Sierra (59p) @ethanjaeda. Situation: Buyer Position to improve: Defense #2 Cologne Express Offense rank: 6th (145 GF) Defense rank: 1st (111 GA) Just as we expected, the Cologne Express are once again doing really good and are currently second in the standings with a record of 32 wins, 14 losses and 2 losses in overtime for a total of 66 points in 48 games. It is only one point behind the Bratislava Watchmen. The Express are completly the opposite of the Watchmen as they are struggling offensively, but are the best team in the league defensively thanks to Joseph Dubois @Dubois, Scrungle Bungle @Novanod and all the other defensemen. Jon Webber III @Webberj is also doing an incredible job in the net as he leads the league in GAA with 1,81. Situation: Buyer Position to improve: Offense #3 Oslo Storm Offense rank: 3rd (157 GF) Defense rank: 2nd (140 GA) Again, just like we predicted at the beginning of the season, the Oslo Storm are doing pretty good and currently sit third in the standings. The Storm are a little mix of the Watchmen and the Express as they are doing good offensively and good defensively. Indeed, four players are point per game and one is in the top ten of the league, Ashoka Tano (70p) @Aimee , who is also leading the defensemen in points. They can also count on Boris Bone-Breaker @RileyL and Toby Cook @KRZY who are both in the top ten of the league for the number of shots blocked and the number of hits. Finally, they also have a pretty good goalie with Spider Panda @Ricer13 who is leading the league with a save percentage of 0.948% Situation: Buyer Position to improve: Depth Forwards and Defensemen #4 Stockholm Vikings Offense rank: 4th (156 GF) Defense rank: T-3rd (142 GA) The next two teams are pretty much at the same place right now and are going to fight for the last available playoffs spot. Indeed, the Stockholm Vikings currently have a record of 23 wins, 20 losses and 5 overtime losses for a total of 51 points in 58 games, which is only one more point than the Vasteras Iron Eagles. The situation of both teams will depend of the point of view of their respective GM as they could decide to sell and be competitive next season or to buy and hope to cause a surprise in the playoffs this season. For the Stockholm Vikings, they already have Samsayz I-Smell @CaptainSB and WWumbo @Fire Tortorella who are the leaders of the team in defense, so if they decide to make a push, they should try to improve their depth forward a little bit. Situation: Buyer/Seller Position to improve: Depth Forwards #5 Vasteras Iron Eagles Offense rank: 2nd(158 GF) Defense rank: 5th (151 GA) For the Vasteras Iron Eagles, they don't have any problem scoring goals, thanks to Nikita Yolishev @Joel Main and Taylor Swift @lilchrist, but they could use some help in their own zone. Indeed, the team is the second worst team in terms of goals against with 151. So, if they decide to compete this year, they should try to improve their defense. Situation: Buyer/Seller Position to improve: Defense #6 Rome Gladiators Offense rank: 5th (148 GF) Defense rank: 6th (281 GA) The Rome Gladiators are exactly where they were supposed be and it is pretty obvious that the team will try to sell at the trade deadline. However, we can see a lot of good things from this team. Indeed, both Ray Stanton @horoscope and French Fries @solyom are in the top ten of the league in scoring. I would also like to congratulate @jacobcarson877 who took the team mid-season and is trying to turn things around in Rome! Situation: Seller Position to improve: Offense/Defense/Goalie That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good end of the season and see you in another VSN article!
  21. thanks to you!!
  22. The season is still young, trust me I am usually right lol
  23. @Ricer13 Welcome everyone, We are back for another season of the VHLE and I can say with confidence that when you look at the rosters, we can expect that this season is going to be one of the tightest I have ever seen in the VHLE. Indeed, a lot of teams have similar rosters and it made my job of predicting the standings really difficult. So, my predictions are maybe going to be wrong and feel free to tell me if you don't agree with me. #1 Cologne Express Offense rank: 1st Defense rank: 1st Goalie rank: 4th I feel like I am repeating myself, but once again I believe that the Cologne Express are going to finish at the top of the standings. Indeed, Cologne have the best offense of the league, led by BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson @JardyB10 and Baby Moo Moo @Elvis and the best defense led by Joseph Dubois @Dubois and Scrungle Bungle @Novanod. What may hurt Cologne is their goalie, but if they continue to update, their goalie can become a real starter in the VHLE by the end of the regular season and then, they will be unstoppable. #2 Oslo Storm Offense rank: T-2nd Defense rank: T-2nd Goalie rank: T-1st After a tough season in S94, the Oslo Storm are already back on top and ready to compete for the Renaissance Cup. Oslo is tied in first place in the net as Spider Panda @Ricer13 is going to be one of the best goalies in the VHLE this season. Oslo is tied for the second best offense with the Stockholm Vikings and the Bratislava Watchmen. The Storm also tied in second for the best defense, but this time with the Stockholm Vikings and the Vasteras Iron Eagles. The Storm can count on David Pastanap @Jubis and Tim Robinson @Tim Robinson to help them offensively and on Ashoka Tano @Aimee and Wladyslaw Mintus @mintusaurus to help them defensively. #T-3 Vasteras Iron Eagles Offense rank: 5th Defense rank: T-2nd Goalie rank: T-1st For the next three teams, the Vasteras Iron Eagles, the Stockholm Vikings and the Bratislava Watchmen, it was way too difficult to rank them, because every team is good in two categories and struggle in the other one, so I decided to place them all in third place as they are way too similar. For Vasteras, their offense is going to hurt them a little bit, but if their top players continue to be active, I can see them being a dominant team with Alphonse Desjardins @Anthique and Einar Mathiesen @xsjack in defense and Ondrej Vencko @Mutti in the net. #T-3 Stockholm Vikings Offense rank: T-2nd Defense rank: T-2nd Goalie rank: 5th With Phil Sakic @Phil and Dan jr @Danzo, Stockholm are going to be good offensively. However, they will need the help of their defensemen Samsayz I-Smell @CaptainSB and Masa Akimoto @Hokikeijot if they also want to be good defensively. Indeed, Stockholm's weakness is without a doubt going to be in front of the net and they will need the help of everyone to compensate that. #T-3 Bratislava Watchmen Offense rank: T-2nd Defense rank: 5th Goalie rank: 3rd Despite having a really good offense led by Dhorji Khan @Oddpurplefly and Steve French @Seabass, the Bratislava Watchmen are really going to struggle defensively as they have the second to last defense in the league, only in front of the Rome Gladiators. However, if Hugo Boss @Dil can continue to improve and become one of the best goalie in the league, the Bratislava Watchmen are going to be really dangerous at the end of the season. #6 Rome Gladiators Offense rank: 6th Defense rank: 5th Goalie rank: 6th Unfortunately, there is not a lot to be said about the Rome Gladiators. Indeed, this season is going to be one of transition for the Gladiators. The defensemen Billy Joel @The goat of hockey and Ray Stanton @horoscope will maybe cause some surprises some nights, but other than that, it is going to be a tough season in Rome. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good regular season and see you in another VSN article!
  24. @ace_five_ Welcome everyone, Two weeks ago, took place the S94 World Cup of Hockey in Istanbul, Türkiye and six teams battled to win the gold medal and by the same token enter history. The teams were Team Canada, Team USA, Team Western Europe, Team Eastern Europe, Team Nordic and Team World. In this article, we are going to look at each team's strengths and weaknesses and after, we are going to look at the playoffs of the tournament. However, before we start, I would like to thank and congratulate the two World Cup commissioners, @leandrofg and @rory, without whomst this tournament would not be possible! TEAM PREVIEW Team Canada Offense rank: 1st (1175 TPE) Defense rank: 2nd (953 TPE) Goalie rank: 2nd (1041 TPE) On paper, not a lot of teams were going to be able to compete against Team Canada during this World Cup. Indeed, Canada had by far the best offense of the tournament led by Leonard Triller @Triller and Harry Callahan @dstevensonjr. The net was also safe as Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123 and Joel Castle @animal74 separated the task of protecting the cage of Team Canada. The only "weakness" Canada has, if you absolutely wanted to name one, is their defense, but they still have the second best in the tournament. Team USA Offense rank: 3rd (1052 TPE) Defense rank: 1st (1102 TPE) Goalie rank: 4th (786.5 TPE) Once again, Team USA looks really solid on paper and the gold medal was the only good answer for the Americans. The United States also had a really good offensive core with players like Daryl Dixon @Ricer13, Jimi Jaks @ke1vi and Mac Atlas @v.2 . The American team can also count on the best defense of the tournament with Mark Calaway @Beketov, Jacob Stone @scoop and Skor McFleury @Alex. The only thing that I can see bringing the team down a little bit is the goaltenders, but the defense is making up for it. Team World Offense rank: 2nd (1058 TPE) Defense rank: 4th (896 TPE) Goalie rank: 1st (1135 TPE) Just like Canada and USA, Team World had only one ambition and it was to win the gold medal and nothing else. World's goalie tandem, Lachlan Summers @kirbithan and WWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWW @rory, is by far the best in the tournament and they will be tough to score against. They were going to be helped by the forwards Axle Gunner @Steve and Thor Reingaard @N0HBDY who were going to take care of scoring goals. The defense might the only soft point this team has. Team Western Europe Offense rank: 4th (1031 TPE) Defense rank: 3rd (900 TPE) Goalie rank: 6th (559 TPE) Even tough Team Western Europe seems to be a little less good on paper, than Team Canada, Team USA and Team World, they could really cause a surprise and be finish the tournament with a medal. The team strengths are really their forwards and their defensemen with players like, Callum Gary Yannick Janser @Daniel Janser, Sjin @Sjin and The Frenchman @OrbitingDeath . On the other hand, their big weakness is clearly in the net. Team Eastern Europe Offense rank: 6th (892 TPE) Defense rank: 5th (876 TPE) Goalie rank: 3rd (813.5 TPE) Just a little bit under Team Western Europe, we have Team Eastern Europe who could also cause some surprises in the competition. Indeed, Eastern Europe, can count on Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ and Maximim Anisimov @McLovin to lead the team offensively. They also have a pretty good and young goalie tandem lead by Ryan Artyomov @Enorama and Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts on the back end playing the point. What is going to hurt Team Eastern Europe is their lack of depth forward and defensemen. Team Nordic Offense rank: 5th (928 TPE) Defense rank: 6th (729 TPE) Goalie rank: 5th (668.5 TPE) Finally, we have Team Nordic, who in my opinion, started the tournament with the worst team on paper, because of their depth just like Eastern Europe. However, it would be really foolish to count them as defeated before the competition. Indeed, players like FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ, Jarmo Ruutu @jRuutu and Raimo Tuominen @SlapshotWrangler can really change a game by themselves if they want. In this tournament, Team Nordic's weaker point is going to be their defense. PLAYOFF RECAP Quarter-finals #1 Team World #3 vs Team Eastern Europe #6 Team World finished 3rd of the round robin tournament and faced Team Eastern Europe in the quarter-finals who finished 6th. Team World won the game 5-3 to gain their place in the semi-final. Yaroslav Trunov @qripll scored a hat-trick and the only three goals of his team in the losing cause. For Team World, Axle Gunner (1g, 2a), Mina @Baozi (1g, 2a) and Severus Targaryen @Banackock (3a) all had a 3-point nights to help their team get the win. Quarter-finals #2 Team Western Europe #4 vs Team Canada #5 The second quarter-final saw Team Western Europe, who finished 4th in the standings, play against Team Canada who had a really disappointing round robin tournament and only finished 5th. However, Team Canada won the game 1-0 and advanced to the semi-final. The big hero of this quarter-final is Merome Dilson. Indeed, Dilson stopped the 27 shots he faced in the game to complete the shutout. The only scorer of the game is Harry Callahan. Semi-finals #1 Team USA #1 vs Team Canada #5 Team USA finished 1st in the standings, so this means that they were facing Team Canada in the semi-final. The game finished 4-3 in second overtime for Team USA. Skor McFleury (1g, 1a), Kronchy Kardashian @Garsh (2a) and Daryl Dixon (1g, 1a) all finished the game with two points. Dixon also scored the overtime game winning goal at 0:40 of the second overtime to give USA their ticket for the gold medal final. With this loss, Team Canada went to the bronze medal game. Semi-finals #2 Team Nordic #2 vs Team World #3 After finishing second in the round robin tournament, Team Nordic faced Team World in the second semi-final. Team World surprised Team Nordic by winning the game 4-1. Lachlan Summers stole the game for Team World by saving 49 of the 50 shots he faced and maintaining a 0.980% save percentage. Three players of team World had a 2-point game, Mina (2a), Severus Targaryen (1g, 1a) and Thor Reingaard (1g, 1a). Bronze Medal Game Team Nordic #2 vs Team Canada #5 For the Bronze medal game, Team Nordic faced Team Canada in a really tight game, but it is Team Nordic who came out of the game with a 4-3 win to bring the bronze medal home. In the game for Team Nordic, Jarkko Laakkonen @Xdjk93 (2a), Jarmo Ruutu (1g, 1a), Kimi Raikkonen @mattyIceman (1g, 1a) and Tord Yvel @Trazan (2a) all had a game of 2 points. Congratulations to Team Nordic for winning the Bronze Medal. Gold Medal Game Team USA #1 vs Team World #3 Finally, Team USA and Team World were the two teams facing each other in the most important game of the tournament, the S94 World Cup of Hockey Gold Medal Game. Team World ended up winning 3-2 in overtime to win the Gold. In the victory, Severus Targaryen (1g, 1a) scored 2 points, including the game winning goal at 12:46 of the first overtime period. To finish, I would like to congratulate Team World for their Gold Medal and Team USA for their Silver Medal. That’s all for me, thanks everyone for reading, I wish you all a good season and I will see you in another VSN article!
