  3. 1. Right now, the season starting in April would be best for me. Lasr two weeks of March is going to be a busy time for me. 2. 4. Halifax 21st Press Conference Answer 3 Questions for 1 Capped TPE Answer 6 Questions for 2 Capped TPE For Week Ending on March 10, 2024 How do you feel about your new GM @LucyXpher? With all the picks your team has in the upcomming VHLM Draft, what do you feel is the biggest position of need on the team? With all the new GMs in the VHLM comming in, who do you think is best set up to succeed in the future? How are you spending your offseason time? What pet would you own if it were allowed? If you had a time machine, where would you go?

  6. We were wondering what was happening with in the Halifax 21st organization. We now finally have some concrete answers to our questions. True to the rumors, the GM positions for the Halifax 21st as well as the Mexico City Kings and a possible third team are just now open for applications. Reports state that the current Halifax AGM, William Groves, has formally subbmitted his own application for the Halifax GM position under the self imposed provision that he will fully support whomever becomes the Halifax GM if he does get the position. There are some big names with significant experience as a GM applying for just the Halifax GM position, and it give the VHLM commissioners some thought as to who they feel is best to lead these teams into a brighter future. Good luck to all applicants, and we will have more information on this news as it breaks.
  7. News travels slowly. Just announced it today. Mistake on my part?
  8. Naturally applying for the Halifax GM position. I will support who ever get that position as AGM.
  9. There is a lot of post season news going on right. A big wedding just happened, a new junior hockey league has been announced, and rumors swirling around the future of a VHLM franchise. All of this news coming up next. Shortly after the offseason began, Riga Reign star Shubham Anand married a childhood friend and Olympic swimmer Mina Chopra in New Delhi. The three day ceremony drew in people around the globe, including current and former teammate of Shubham's, Grishma's friends from the World of Speed, some old Cricket buddies of Jayesh Anand, and many of Mina's friends and extended family. Every William Groves some how had time to show up, but more on why his attendance was unexpected later. Even among all of the many important ceremonies a traditional Indian wedding, Shubham managed to work in a pickup ice hockey game as a bachelor party. The wedding ended with a massive reception full of food, dancing and fun. It was a great time for everyone. Mina is very happy to start her new life with Shubham and will move with him to Riga after a long honeymoon trip to San Diego up the coast to Calgary and every in between. Congratulations to the happy couple. May their marriage be long and happy. Shubham Anand will have a lot on his plate upon returning to Riga, because the new hockey league he and his friends are staring has come into clearer focus. It will be called the Baltic Association of Junior Ice Hockey or BAJIH for short. The goal of this new league is to bring a new level of competitive hockey for the boys and girls living within Baltic communities. The host cities for the inaugural BAJIH teams are Riga, (obviously) Klaipeda, Tallinn, and Vilnius with other cities and communities in talk for expansion. We do know that former Team Lithuania captin Arūnas Serapin will lead the Vilnius club. We will see if other big names will lead teams in the future. Expect more information on this new endeavor as it is announced. Now to the surprising drama bubbling up in the Halifax 21st organization. With the departure of longtime GM Shawn, you would think that AGM William Groves would be clearly next in line for the GM position. Not so fast. The VHLM has made no announcements on who will be the the Halifax 21st GM as of yet. This is leading to rumors that the league has someone else in mind for that position or leave it open for applicants. The wait for confirmation on what the future of Halifax 21st hockey will be has William Groves in a lurch, not being able to do anything until the word is given ( except attending a wedding halfway across the globe ). We can only hope a conclusion to this matter comes soon. Update will be posted as they come. That is all the news there is for now. All of these stories will be updated when possible. Good day to you all.

  14. The recent influx of new first-generation players has everyone in the VHL Scouting Department super excited. These new players are the lifeblood of the VHL, bring hope to much of the VHLM team management, and are so important in keeping this hobby we all enjoy going. What better way to celebrate the arrival of these new faces than to give a spotlight to the best of these future stars in the various spots on the ice. Enjoy this review of the top first-generation players of S93 at every position. Starting from the back line for a change, the best 1st generation goaltender of S93 is Ondrej Vencko @Mutti. The twenty-two year old Czech netminder has been producing solid numbers for a for a player just starting off. In thirty-seven games played this season Ondrej has produced nineteen wins, thirteen losses and three overtime losses with a save percentage of 0.884 and 3.17 goals against average. His play has the Houston Bulls believing that they can compete in the competitive Western Conference. Ondrej also seems to have a local tabloid called the Houston Gossiper following him around and covering his exploits around his new home. Ben Icio del Torro 's reporting is solid if somewhat invasive, so follow them if you want to know everything about the next great prospect goaltender. Other 1st gen netminders in this draft class include Connor Hellebuyck @HockeyFan4Life and ryeley michel bias @logQ. Moving up to the blueline S93's best 1st generation defender is Benjamin Abenduct @Schnee. The sixteen year old American has been playing like an established veteran in only his first season of VHLM play. In fifty-two games this season, Benjamin has produced twenty goals and forty-two assists for sixty-two points with five game winning goals and eleven power play goals and one hundred and forty-four hits. Another new player from that young and rising Houston Bulls squad, this prospective player has the raw numbers and ability to be put in the discussion for at least top five over pick. No matter where he ends up the expectations for Benjamin will be high. But if he can continue to produce as he currently has been able to, he will be starting VHL player in no time. Other 1st gen defensemen in this draft class of note include Gul Dukat @MSouthworth(), Ray Stanton @horoscope, Carson Tripp @Cartripp14, and Cody Toland @ctoland102. Up to the wings to see who the best 1st generation left winger of S93 is. That player in my opinion is UghSike @UghSike. The nineteen year old Irishman originally signed to play for the Saskatoon Wild only to be recently traded to the Miami Marauders in a bittersweet move. In the fifty-six games played in, Ugh has scored twenty-three goals and twenty-eight assists for fifty-one points. The young man from Cork produced good, solid numbers on a clearly tanking Wild side. We can only hope the transition to a stronger, more competitive Marauders team will result in a better prospect who is able to handle the chaotic life of a VHLE or VHL player. Other 1st gen left wingers in this draft class of note include Filip Zinek @FiZi, Kevin OConnor @Luke033, and Juslaf Rajskovky @karamikarusai . Sliding across to the right wing, the best 1st generation player in that position is Trimiskez Artav @jake. The eighteen-year-old from Greenland (We meet again, cold rock) is the best player out of the batch of 1st gens learning the game togther in Houston. In fifty-six games Trimiskez has produced thirty-one goals and thirty-eight assists for a nice sixty-eight points. It is hard to think that this kid is a first gen player when he plays like an established veteran. He is likely to have eighty points and might just get close to one hundred points by the time the season is over. For me there is no question that this kid is the first overall pick. The mix of skills and stats on a first generation player has me believing that Trimiskez is the most sought after prospect in the VHL today. Other 1st gen right wingers in ? draft class of note include Annie Oaks @Noodle Enjoyer, Nathan Ecker @Nathan_8, Leon Bruhmaninho @BigBruhman, Oliver Loo @Peiffy, and Jack Dickins @Mystery_boy98. Ending in the middle leaves us at the center. There Tyler Lawson @Nyx can be found for he is the best 1st generation center of S93. This nineteen year old American can be found, like most players mention in this article, playing for the First Gen Development Team also known as the Houston Bulls. The Poway, California native and UCLA alumni has sixteen goals and twenty-four assists for forty points in forty games. On a team loaded with first generation talent, this is the kid that is underrated. He is a glue guy, the type of player that can bind a line together. VHL GM's love having this type of player in their system. This prospect should be selected in at least the first two rounds. Others 1st gen centers in this draft class of note are Aiden Paige @Apaige131, Isaak Robinson @isaak, and Gavin Bebard @Gavin Bebard. The flyover of the S93 1st generation players is now over. If a worthy player was forgotten, by all means shout them out in the comments section below. To all first-generation players, I wish you nothing but the best of luck and I hope you time in the game is fun and long so that this hobby can continue for years to come. To season one hundred and beyond! For VSN Scouting this is @Will3 signing off.

  16. 1. We can't keep pucks out of the net. Need a tighter defense to support our young goaltender. 2. I believe that I am an important piece of the Reign's future and will not be moved. That being said nothing is certain. 3. Management probably is starting to prepare for next season. Players never look beyond the next game. 4. I am probably near the top of that line. I need to step my gam up first. 5. Getting the first hat trick of the season. 6. Very little. The ending between McDavid and Matthews.
  17. Not to make everyone feel old but we are quickly approaching S100 of VHL play. So many great players have come and gone through this league. Legends have been written in each decade setting the stage for the next generation to grow beyond. The evolution of this league into the biggest and best sim league in the world has been remarkable and is truly special. To celebrate all 100 seasons of VHL and VHLM play, I have a plan to pick the best team of players from each decade of draft classes. I would used my picked teams in a grand tournament to see what decade produced the best players, but I can only write and dream. As much as it would fit the theme week, I can't start this project now for I am working on another task. I will keep this idea in my back pocket for now, for a rainy day.

Are we going to overtake them in the standings? The Western Conference is strong this season. What team in that conference would you say is underrated? What teammate would you vote to a All-Star game? What are you hoping for going second half of the season? You are given the opportunity to rebrand one VHLM franchise. What franchise would you rebrand and what would you rebrand that franchise into? VHLM or VHLE? Quote Report Edit
  19. 1. I still believe that we are close. A purchase of a defender might help. 2. I don't have an answer to this question. Playoff hockey is weird and anything can happen. 3. It is calm and focused. No panic only a desire to get the job done. 4. Given that he had hit the age of retirement, I don't think he will return. 5. You work harder everyday day until fortune favors you again. 6. Canucks and Jets have been the most consistent Canadian teams so far. Hard to pick against them at the moment.
  20. If something is sent to my house, it probably would cause more problems than it is worth.
  21. Note: This was originally ment as a VSN article last season that never got finished in time. While the information on this article is outdated, the interesting topic and effort put in on my part merits publishing this article even in a state never ment to be seen. Enjoy! I believe that I mentioned in a pervious article a common quote amoung us scouts. "It doesn't matter where a prospect comes from.If they love hockey, they will have a home in the VHL." Indeed a simple search through the record of active VHL players is enought to see many players who stand alone as the only representative of their nation. They range from grizzled vets approaching retirement to prospects who are trying to break into the league. It is time to tell the stories of players who carry a nation. What better place to start than with the centers. Starting out for the first these young guns is a obvious player for an article. This member of the S90 draft class is famous for being the first hockey player from his country to sign up for VHL play. That player is Xiver Zilla. The Maltese-American,while born on the Mediterranean island, was raised in just as unlikely hockey market that is Atlanta, Georgia. All joking aside, it was in Atlanta that he fell in love with the game that would lead to playing college hockey for Northeastern University and eventually join the San Diego Marlins.Currently Xiver is amoung the point leaders for Vasteras Iron Eagles while waiting for his promotion to the New York Americans. Malta has a bright young star who should carry the flag for many years to come. The other young center who is carrying their country comes from a little country. This is Phillip Rave. His mother is one the 40,000 individuals that call Lichtenstein home. He would be raised in the micro European nation where he developed a love for skiing. Failing to qualify for the Olympic in that event would be a major turning point. He would get back to skating, join an Austrian semi-pro hockey league, and eventually follow Xiver Zilla example and play for the Marlins where he is today. He may have missed his chance at Olympic glory but he can still make his nation proud as he carries the flag into the VHL. Moving in to left wing, there is a good mix of experience and youth at this position. Bringing that experience is a grizzled veteran on his way to retirement. This player is Hockley Mann. He claims to be from Tuvalu, alought exactly how one of the around 11,000 people that call the South Pacific Island home ended up playing ice hockey is a mystery. Perhaps the archive is incomplete or this random place is a joke at my expense. What is recorded is that Hockley started play with Miami Marauders where he would win the Ethan Osborne Trophy in S83. The member of the S82 draft class would would spend two seasons in the VHLE for Bratislava and Cologne. Hockley Mann would make his VHL debut with New York for one season before spending another lone season with Helsinki before speeding two seasons in Malmo. Currently, Hockley is spending his final season with the Vancouver Wolves looking to leave the game on top. We will have to wait and see if Hockley can carry his nation to a championship. The other left winger is a much younger, comes from a part of the world about as opposite from the South Pacific as can be, and is a bit monstrous. Grimgor Ironhide is a black orc straight out the Warhamner 40K universe who ended up on Heard Island and McDonald Islands, a remote and uninhabited Anartic Islands belonging to Australia. How he got to civilization and why he decided to play VHL hockey is a complete mystery. What is clearly known is that Grimgor is currently having a fantastic season for the Mississauga Hounds. With over one hundred points just over halfway into s90, Grimgor is looking like a top prospect going into the S91 VHL Draft. He caries his flag well even if he is carrying it alone. Sliding across to right winger and there is another young S91 prospect looking to carry their nation with aplomb. Ant R Sap comes from Guadeloupe, a French controlled archipelago of just under 400,000 inhabitants. Again I have no information on how or why a random person from a Caribbean island decided to play VHL hockey. Perhaps I am not ment to know. Perhaps chasing the mystery is better that solving the mystery. but Back to Ant because he has been solid as a member of Philadelphia Reapers. Ant isn't that last ice hockey player on this article to come from tropical Caribbean. Perhaps the story of the invasive snowbird settling in the Caribbean are true. Speaking of the Caribbean, that is where the next right winger comes from. Macdonalds BigMac was born in Trinidad and Tobago the most southern of the Caribbean Islands. His family was poor but watching some kids play street hockey got him interested in the sport. That interest turned into playing for various rec and traveling teams with a move to Florida helping out his development. He would join the local VHLM team, the Miami Marauders, for a solid S87. He has spent his last three seasons in the VHLE, two with Istanbul then moved with the team to Stockholm for the current season. The Toronto Legion prospect has been steady and consistent with his development and will are him nation proud when he makes the VHL. On to the blueliners where the last of the Caribbean crew can be found. Deron Nesbitt is listed as hailing from Saint Kitts a small island with just under 35,000 people. Yet again I have no information on Deron's live per VHL.There is a substantial career to review. He started his career in Mexico City in S81 Was draft to Ottawa in the S82 VHLM Draft. His VHL Draft came in S83 and that season was spent in the VHLE with Cologne. He would be called up to Helsinki were he would stay for two seasons before being shipped to six different teams in seven seasons. In that stretch he has played for,Davos, Seattle, Toronto, Prague, Moscow and London, where he is today. The tragic thing is the Deron has been on the the last two Victory Cup winning teams but has not tasted the Continental Cup. Hopefully he can get that championship before he is forced to retire from carrying his nation everywhere next season. The other defender on this article is significantly younger from the pervious player and hails from Europe. Admir Bala was born in Bern,Switzerland to a pair of Albanian athletes. Having the athletic abilities of his parents and loving SC Bern, it was only a matter of time before he was playing for the Swiss National League side. But the VHLM came calling and Admir would join the Halifax 21st on waivers in S85.He would be drafted in the VHLM draft by Saskatoon the next season before being traded to San Diego where he would spend the rest of that season, winning the Founder's Cup, and all of the next season. S88 would see promoted to the VHLE and the Oslo Storm. He would win the Renaissance Cup that season and would spend one more season with the Storm in the E. S90, the current season, see Admir in his first VHL season with the Prague Phantoms. Can he win the Continental Cup this season and complete the rare achievement of winning championships at every level of play two years apart from each other. It is an successful way to carry a nation, I suppose. Time to round out this article with a look at every teams favorite player, the goaltenders. Clueless Wallob's home is listed as Bhutan, a mountainous South Asian country between India and China. Yet again I am clueless as to how this wallob got to the VHLM in the first place. Starting with what is known, Wallob joined the San Diego Marlins during on waivers during S82 and would stick with them after being selected by the Marlins 2nd overall in the VHLM draft. His VHL Draft season would see him spend his only season in the VHLE with the Geneva Rush. The next season would see Wallob called up to the Prague Phantoms where he would spend the next four seasons.Trades in S89 and S90 would see him traded to Moscow and Seattle, respectively. Much like Deron Nesbitt, Wallob has been on the last two Victory Cup winning teams with no Continental Cup. He is even the most recent recipient of the Aidan Shaw Trophy and the Greg Clegane Trophy with no championship to his name. He still has some time left to carry his nation to the top of the mountain. Finally on to the last player featured on this article. Henry Tucker Jr claims Cocos Islands, a small archipelago in the Indian Ocean controlled by Australia. Unlike Grimgor's home there is a settlement of under 600 people living on these islands. For a final time, the lack of any pre VHL records vexes me. What is on record is that Henry would join Halifax of waivers in S83 before being selected 1st overall by Mexico City in the S84 VHLM Draft. His VHL Draft season would Henry up in the VHLE for the Oslo Storm. in his most successful season to date,He would help lead the Storm to a Renaissance Cup championship and He would receive the Florida Man Trophy for his efforts. Afterwards he was called up to Riga where he remains five seasons later. Henry has been a consistent goaltender and has carved out a good career for himself. He has indeed carried his country well. And the long road finally reached it's endpoint. What has been learned a cross this journey. Top talent can come from anywhere in the world. Even places where humans are rare or nonexistent can produce iconic hockey players. While many of the stores of how these players are lost to time, what they have achieved and where they have tread should be remembered, so that children of the locations can continue to carry their county into the future. 25. Riga Reign star Shubham Anand is continuing the season of giving into the new year and new season with several charitable activities. He continuing to work with food banks in these cold winter days so that struggling people will have food to eat. But that is only the tip of the iceberg. He has also paid the bills of those in danger of loosing heat and power during these cold days. But his best works continue to be with children. He has visited a local juvenile detention center to donate some equipment and start a hockey team for the kids. There are plans to offer additional assistance to disadvantaged youth via the game of hockey as far north as Tallinn and as far south as Vilnius and even offer a challenge cup for the peewee teams in this region. And there are countless other smaller things Shubham and his Reign teammates continuing to do for the people of the Baltic communities.
