  3. The start of the new season has seen many surprises pop up around the league. One of those stories has been the start of Riga Reign star Shubham Anand. His hot start has seen him rise to the level of legit VHL superstar. Time to look into the how he got to this point and if he can continue his stunning performance over the long season to come. After a strong performance his rookie season, the second season would show signs of a sophomore slump, particularly with the rough season the rebuilding Regin would suffered through. Which makes his performance early into S93 surprising. Twenty-two games into the new season, Shubham has earned thirteen goals and nineteen assist for thirty-two points. While these numbers represent a cooling off from the hot form Shubham started in, these numbers are first in team goals and points and second in team assist with only fellow rising star Eric White Jr @Mysterious_Fish having more. Shubham is currently on pace to finish above a point per game for the first time in his career in the VHL system, setting him up for the season of his young career. Clearly the hard work Shubham Anand has put in over the last two pulse seasons is paying off. But what about his game can be pinpointed as skills responsible for this burst of points. Looking at the attributes, the scoring and defense are good, but what truly stands out is passing, puck handling and skating. All of these attributes are above an eighty-five rating. Together these attributes result in a player who is a nightmare for opponent's defender and goaltender to slow down much less stop. For a young team still looking to develop its players, Shubham's particular set of skills are proving to be very important to team success. The current season is young with many ups and downs expected to come over the many weeks. But the start that Shubham Anand had is giving Riga Reign fans hope that the team might be carried to at least winning record this season. And that in the future, their team might develop to reach the form necessary to contend for the Continental Cup.

  10. Halifax 21st Press Conference Answer 3 Questions for 1 Capped TPE Answer 6 Questions for 2 Capped TPE For Week Ending on March 10, 2024 How do you feel about your new GM @LucyXpher? With all the picks your team has in the upcomming VHLM Draft, what do you feel is the biggest position of need on the team? With all the new GMs in the VHLM comming in, who do you think is best set up to succeed in the future? How are you spending your offseason time? What pet would you own if it were allowed? If you had a time machine, where would you go?

  12. We were wondering what was happening with in the Halifax 21st organization. We now finally have some concrete answers to our questions. True to the rumors, the GM positions for the Halifax 21st as well as the Mexico City Kings and a possible third team are just now open for applications. Reports state that the current Halifax AGM, William Groves, has formally subbmitted his own application for the Halifax GM position under the self imposed provision that he will fully support whomever becomes the Halifax GM if he does get the position. There are some big names with significant experience as a GM applying for just the Halifax GM position, and it give the VHLM commissioners some thought as to who they feel is best to lead these teams into a brighter future. Good luck to all applicants, and we will have more information on this news as it breaks.
  13. News travels slowly. Just announced it today. Mistake on my part?
  14. Naturally applying for the Halifax GM position. I will support who ever get that position as AGM.
  15. There is a lot of post season news going on right. A big wedding just happened, a new junior hockey league has been announced, and rumors swirling around the future of a VHLM franchise. All of this news coming up next. Shortly after the offseason began, Riga Reign star Shubham Anand married a childhood friend and Olympic swimmer Mina Chopra in New Delhi. The three day ceremony drew in people around the globe, including current and former teammate of Shubham's, Grishma's friends from the World of Speed, some old Cricket buddies of Jayesh Anand, and many of Mina's friends and extended family. Every William Groves some how had time to show up, but more on why his attendance was unexpected later. Even among all of the many important ceremonies a traditional Indian wedding, Shubham managed to work in a pickup ice hockey game as a bachelor party. The wedding ended with a massive reception full of food, dancing and fun. It was a great time for everyone. Mina is very happy to start her new life with Shubham and will move with him to Riga after a long honeymoon trip to San Diego up the coast to Calgary and every in between. Congratulations to the happy couple. May their marriage be long and happy. Shubham Anand will have a lot on his plate upon returning to Riga, because the new hockey league he and his friends are staring has come into clearer focus. It will be called the Baltic Association of Junior Ice Hockey or BAJIH for short. The goal of this new league is to bring a new level of competitive hockey for the boys and girls living within Baltic communities. The host cities for the inaugural BAJIH teams are Riga, (obviously) Klaipeda, Tallinn, and Vilnius with other cities and communities in talk for expansion. We do know that former Team Lithuania captin Arūnas Serapin will lead the Vilnius club. We will see if other big names will lead teams in the future. Expect more information on this new endeavor as it is announced. Now to the surprising drama bubbling up in the Halifax 21st organization. With the departure of longtime GM Shawn, you would think that AGM William Groves would be clearly next in line for the GM position. Not so fast. The VHLM has made no announcements on who will be the the Halifax 21st GM as of yet. This is leading to rumors that the league has someone else in mind for that position or leave it open for applicants. The wait for confirmation on what the future of Halifax 21st hockey will be has William Groves in a lurch, not being able to do anything until the word is given ( except attending a wedding halfway across the globe ). We can only hope a conclusion to this matter comes soon. Update will be posted as they come. That is all the news there is for now. All of these stories will be updated when possible. Good day to you all.

  19. The recent influx of new first-generation players has everyone in the VHL Scouting Department super excited. These new players are the lifeblood of the VHL, bring hope to much of the VHLM team management, and are so important in keeping this hobby we all enjoy going. What better way to celebrate the arrival of these new faces than to give a spotlight to the best of these future stars in the various spots on the ice. Enjoy this review of the top first-generation players of S93 at every position. Starting from the back line for a change, the best 1st generation goaltender of S93 is Ondrej Vencko @Mutti. The twenty-two year old Czech netminder has been producing solid numbers for a for a player just starting off. In thirty-seven games played this season Ondrej has produced nineteen wins, thirteen losses and three overtime losses with a save percentage of 0.884 and 3.17 goals against average. His play has the Houston Bulls believing that they can compete in the competitive Western Conference. Ondrej also seems to have a local tabloid called the Houston Gossiper following him around and covering his exploits around his new home. Ben Icio del Torro 's reporting is solid if somewhat invasive, so follow them if you want to know everything about the next great prospect goaltender. Other 1st gen netminders in this draft class include Connor Hellebuyck @HockeyFan4Life and ryeley michel bias @logQ. Moving up to the blueline S93's best 1st generation defender is Benjamin Abenduct @Schnee. The sixteen year old American has been playing like an established veteran in only his first season of VHLM play. In fifty-two games this season, Benjamin has produced twenty goals and forty-two assists for sixty-two points with five game winning goals and eleven power play goals and one hundred and forty-four hits. Another new player from that young and rising Houston Bulls squad, this prospective player has the raw numbers and ability to be put in the discussion for at least top five over pick. No matter where he ends up the expectations for Benjamin will be high. But if he can continue to produce as he currently has been able to, he will be starting VHL player in no time. Other 1st gen defensemen in this draft class of note include Gul Dukat @MSouthworth(), Ray Stanton @horoscope, Carson Tripp @Cartripp14, and Cody Toland @ctoland102. Up to the wings to see who the best 1st generation left winger of S93 is. That player in my opinion is UghSike @UghSike. The nineteen year old Irishman originally signed to play for the Saskatoon Wild only to be recently traded to the Miami Marauders in a bittersweet move. In the fifty-six games played in, Ugh has scored twenty-three goals and twenty-eight assists for fifty-one points. The young man from Cork produced good, solid numbers on a clearly tanking Wild side. We can only hope the transition to a stronger, more competitive Marauders team will result in a better prospect who is able to handle the chaotic life of a VHLE or VHL player. Other 1st gen left wingers in this draft class of note include Filip Zinek @FiZi, Kevin OConnor @Luke033, and Juslaf Rajskovky @karamikarusai . Sliding across to the right wing, the best 1st generation player in that position is Trimiskez Artav @jake. The eighteen-year-old from Greenland (We meet again, cold rock) is the best player out of the batch of 1st gens learning the game togther in Houston. In fifty-six games Trimiskez has produced thirty-one goals and thirty-eight assists for a nice sixty-eight points. It is hard to think that this kid is a first gen player when he plays like an established veteran. He is likely to have eighty points and might just get close to one hundred points by the time the season is over. For me there is no question that this kid is the first overall pick. The mix of skills and stats on a first generation player has me believing that Trimiskez is the most sought after prospect in the VHL today. Other 1st gen right wingers in ? draft class of note include Annie Oaks @Noodle Enjoyer, Nathan Ecker @Nathan_8, Leon Bruhmaninho @BigBruhman, Oliver Loo @Peiffy, and Jack Dickins @Mystery_boy98. Ending in the middle leaves us at the center. There Tyler Lawson @Nyx can be found for he is the best 1st generation center of S93. This nineteen year old American can be found, like most players mention in this article, playing for the First Gen Development Team also known as the Houston Bulls. The Poway, California native and UCLA alumni has sixteen goals and twenty-four assists for forty points in forty games. On a team loaded with first generation talent, this is the kid that is underrated. He is a glue guy, the type of player that can bind a line together. VHL GM's love having this type of player in their system. This prospect should be selected in at least the first two rounds. Others 1st gen centers in this draft class of note are Aiden Paige @Apaige131, Isaak Robinson @isaak, and Gavin Bebard @Gavin Bebard. The flyover of the S93 1st generation players is now over. If a worthy player was forgotten, by all means shout them out in the comments section below. To all first-generation players, I wish you nothing but the best of luck and I hope you time in the game is fun and long so that this hobby can continue for years to come. To season one hundred and beyond! For VSN Scouting this is @Will3 signing off.

  21. 1. We can't keep pucks out of the net. Need a tighter defense to support our young goaltender. 2. I believe that I am an important piece of the Reign's future and will not be moved. That being said nothing is certain. 3. Management probably is starting to prepare for next season. Players never look beyond the next game. 4. I am probably near the top of that line. I need to step my gam up first. 5. Getting the first hat trick of the season. 6. Very little. The ending between McDavid and Matthews.
  22. Not to make everyone feel old but we are quickly approaching S100 of VHL play. So many great players have come and gone through this league. Legends have been written in each decade setting the stage for the next generation to grow beyond. The evolution of this league into the biggest and best sim league in the world has been remarkable and is truly special. To celebrate all 100 seasons of VHL and VHLM play, I have a plan to pick the best team of players from each decade of draft classes. I would used my picked teams in a grand tournament to see what decade produced the best players, but I can only write and dream. As much as it would fit the theme week, I can't start this project now for I am working on another task. I will keep this idea in my back pocket for now, for a rainy day.
