  1. Returning to a place you had a bad time can be difficult. But for captain Shubham Anand, returning to the city and team he struggled hard in both on and off the ice has gone better that anyone could have guessed. The right winger from India has started producing points consistently and off the ice has adapted to the role of team leader. Here is how Shubham is doing in his return to Vasteras. To say that things started off on the wrong foot in the VHLE is a gross understatement. Falling to the late 3rd round in a four round draft already made Shubham upset at the GMs who he felt slighted him. It didn't help that the Vasteras Iron Eagles of this time were a non-competive disorganized mess of a franchise. The problems on the ice made setting in and getting used to living in a new strange place difficult. It all eventually came to a head and thirty-seven games in the season Shubham was traded to the Geneva Rush. Everything would be better for him in the thirty-four remains games and he decided to stay in the E for the next season with his loyalty being awarded with the C patch on his jersey next season. In the offseason, however, the nessary contraction of the E would cause the Rush to replace the failing Iron Eagles leaving Shubham in an unusual and awkward predicament. Vasteras locals have heralded Shubham as a prodigal son who has come back to lead the Iron Eagles back to glory. He has accepted this role and has done fantastic work being an ambassador for the team, leading charity drives throughout the town, having a positive impact on the community. He has learned Swedish to better interact with fans and media and help in this ambassadorial role. Many of the rookies have looked up to Shubham and he has helped them with situations on and off the ice. While the team may be disappointed with the inconsistent start, but one thing that has been consistent has been Shubham. In this young season of eighteen games, he is above a point per game with five goals and fourteen assist. That number of assist is more than the number he had with either team last season. He is also one point away from tying his point total with both teams last season. Needless to say a calmer, more settled Shubham is a dangerous Shubham. If this keeps up he will be the legend that the fans have hyped him to be. A return to the place where you hade a hard time can be difficult. The trauma of the situation can leave you jaded, bitter and fill you with a desire to just move on and forget. Not only has Shubham Anand return to that place, but he has done so much work in his return on and off the ice that it overshadows everything that has come before. It is a remarkable thing to see. Perhaps he can lead the Iron Eagles to the glories of a championship. Shubham Anand is certainly leading like a champion.
  2. That happened to me the first time I discovered sim leagues. Also explains why I quit. It took about a year away then came back with a different Discord handle. Came back slowly to some of my other leagues. Thank you for posting this.
  3. 1. This version of the Iron Eagles has. 2. He has been a good contributor making plays, so I have to say yes. 3. Colone Express will be the team for us to beat this season 4. Severus Targaryen. He without question has been the best goal scorer for us so far. 5. Wendy's probably. 6. I have to say the LA Stars or Davos Dynamo because they look different than everything else.
  4. Lot of great goaltender prospects recently. This is a good
  5. Halifax 21st Press Conference Answer 3 Questions for 1 Capped TPE Answer 6 Questions for 2 Capped TPE For Week Ending on September 3rd, 2023 1. I know things haven't gone to plan. But we have recently added some waiver player who should be an important part of any future success. How do you feel about the team going foward with these new players added in? 2. Do you believe that our new waiver players are ready for the spotlight? 3. How do you feel about the early VHLM standing? 4. What is the coolest titem you currently own? 5. You are hosting a team dinner. What do you serve? 6. What does the league need to do about these disruptive spam bots?
  6. 1. Incredible performance. Sometimes all you need is a hot goaltender. 2. Yes, he will provide veteran leadership for many of the youngsters comming up. 3. The league is best when it can function in peace. 2FA might be necessary for peace to be a possible. But let's hope it doesn't come it that. 4. I know Fradin for a long time. He is definitely serving beaver over poutine gravy with a side of pancakes. 5. A sunny side egg and sausage on toast sandwich, with a glass of orange juice. 6. I haven't played on ice but if I could, I would try to be a center.
  7. I am going through some writer's block and have no clue what to write about right now. With the time being so late and needing the TPE, I have decided to give you a picture about what I am thinking about. Go over my involvement as a player, AGM, and VSN scout, and how I feel about my place in each of these roles. Time for my thoughts to wander. Shubham Anand has got of to a decent if quiet start to the season. It is crazy to think that he ended up back in Vasteras after being traded away middle of last season. Being the captain of a cup favorite is cool. I feel like I must enjoy the moment because Calgary is rebuilding and will need me sooner rather that later. I must put the work in today so by the time this season is history, I am ready to for the spotlight in the VHL. I am also not concerned about my stats or lack thereof so far. The season is new with more chances to produce. Shubham has also shown the ability to take over games so I am confident that he will produce points precisely when it is needed. Thing are as interesting as ever in Halifax. There are only six players on the team with a recent waiver signing making things better. The big problem is in what the roster doesn't have. We have only one defender and no one to tend the goal. The team has fought very hard but these limitations have been too much for them to overcome. Shawn and I have been working on trades to fix the issue. Can't talk about how that is going. Which leads me to my thoughts about leaving Halifax. I have had a good two year run as AGM in Halifax. Given the shelf life of management in the VHLM, the time for me to move forward and let someone new take over is approaching. Given that I have neither the money or the equipment for the sim engine, I doubt I can even become a GM at any level or even a AGM at the upper levels. I do what I can the best I can where I can. But any decision on leaving us going to come at the end of the season. VSN writing is not as intimidating as I had originally thought. Writing 600 or more words is not a problem if I have the right topic. That is the problem. My Greenland article was fantastic and so well received. We have more Greenland players join after that article. If we get some more I will probably do a sequel article. My second article wasn't as well received. No I have no clue what to write about I am a scout first and foremost. So I don't want to step on the toes of the other writers. But still the question remains, what now? I hope to write articles that make people feel noticed and happy. How I do that is a mystery to me for now. Thank you for taking a long guided tour into my mind with me. I needed to get all of this off my chest. Hopefully My writers block clears up and I will put out an absolutely amazing article for everyone next week. Have a awesome weekend and be well, my friends.
  8. A new decade of VHLM play draws near. These are the players leading the Halifax 21st in the discovery of these uncharted waters. 2nd Alternate liam oinas @ojje 1st Alternate Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage @Grape And lastly the Captain of the ship. Jeid Rohnson @TopTiddee2 Congratulations to those selected. May you lead us to great fortune in the comming season.
  9. The trade mentioned in my players write up is incorrect. I was drafted to Vasteras then traded to the Geneva, only for for Rush to become the Iron Eagles due to contraction. Weird series of events. That being said thank you for believing in me. I appreciate it.

  11. Hello,Welcome to the VHL. If you need anything let us know. Good luck and have a great time.
  12. 1. Phil Strasmore is simply the best player on the team. He will have a very quick start. 2. I have to go with the LA Stars. Both teams are in a rebuilding phase, so the games should be competitive. 3. I am going to sound crazy for saying this. It is Toronto's year. 4. He is a true two way foward. Scoring, passing, and defence are all part of my game. 5. Make diving a game misconduct 6. Some the Shubham has done since his AIHLI days is a little puja ceremony in the locker room. This includes carefully lighting a candle in front of picture of a diety both of which is in the top of his locker and quietly chanting a prayer or singing a hym. It is calming.
  13. It is time for a second go around for Shubham Anand, the new captain of the Vasteras Iron Eagles, who returns to Sweden in a weird twist of fate. We ask Shubham about how he feels about his return and why he chose to to stay in the VHLE. We also discussed his thoughts on the VHLE draft the Iron Eagles had, the recent acquisition of his company by Dick's Sporting Goods, and some news about Shubham's mother. All of that comming up next. When and how did you decide that you would be staying in the VHLE for S90? It was a collaboration effort between @Ricer13 and myself. We decided that if we wanted me to explod out of the gate when I join the VHL, it would be best for me to stay down for a season and develop. This discussion took place after I was traded to the Geneva Rush. The rebuild and the reduction were not on my mind when I made that decision. The rebuild you are talking about is the one the Calgary Wranglers started this offseason. How does being the top prospect for a fanbase waiting for your arrival effect you? It means that I have more eyes on me that ever. I know I carry the Posse's hopes and expectations. That can be overwhelming but it also gives me purpose. I have a clear mission this season. Train and get better so that I can live up to expectations next season. That is what it is about this season. The reduction you mentioned earlier was of the VHLE itself. That saw the Geneva Rush, the team you were trade to, relocate to replace the team that drafted you. Now you are back as the captain of the team. How do you feel about seemingly being fated to play for Vasteras? It is something you can't plan for. Most of my problems with Vasteras that got me traded in the first place was the fact that they were a non-competive trash team. Turn out I would be apart of the solution to fix that team no matter what. The reduction was necessary and good for us, especially after that recent draft we had. But If I am doomed to play my VHLE hockey for this small town, only thing to do is to bring the Renaissance Cup here. The draft was a great one for the new look Iron Eagles. Over a entire round a picks tends to cause that. It is a draft that that would see stars like Severus Targaryen, Axel Gunner, Jarmo Ruutu and many other become a part of this renewed team. How do you feel about your new teammates and how do you feel about leading such a young squad? This is why the reduction was a painful but right decision. This team feels like a brand new squad, even compared to the Rush of last year. I have been practicing with Severus and Axel and I believe that they will have have a great season. This team respect how hard I work to win. If I can get the entire team to fight for victory like I do, the Renaissance Cup is ours. Two personal questions before we part. I think was recently announced that your startup, GoGear, was purchased by Dick's Sporting Goods. Part of the deal was for you to join the upper management to oversee the sporting goods purchasing app you created. How do you balance your business responsibilities with your hockey ones and how is this deal beneficial for you? It isn't easy, but the board of directors is understanding of my desire to lead a business and play hockey, so we make it work out. I get to keep the goal of the company I founded with the support of one of the largest sports goods stores in the world. They get to offer new and better services to their customers. It was a beneficial deal for both parties. Your mother, Grishma, has made headlines. She has founded a racing team called SwiftSteel Race Engineering or SRE for short in the World of Speed Racing Series and has moved to the Islands of Speed. How do you feel about that? That sounds like Mama Grishma alright. I am glad she a found something to put her time, energy, and money into. She is smart and has pick passionate and skilled drivers and engineers to work for her. I believe that SRE will have a great season and I will be rooting for them all the way over here. That is all the time we have for today. Good luck to both SRE and the Vasteras Iron Eagles. Thanks.
  14. Welcome to the VHL. If you need anything let someone know. Have fun and good luck.
  15. I am still an Iron Eagles. Even after being traded away middle of last season. So please do it.
  16. Welcome back. If you need anything let one of us managers know.

Would you like to play in the VHLE or would you rather jump up to the VHL from the VHLM? 5. What is the craziest thing that happened at a sporting event you attended? 6. Are you ready for som VHLM hockey action?
  18. 1. A rebuild is never a fun part of game. That being said Ricer has done a good job kicking off this new era by getting good value for old veterans and building solid draft capital for futuresuccess. 2. I get to be a leader in a team I have technical played for twice. 3. I just want to build up my TPE to be ready for the next level. 4. The first year of a rebuild is always the hardest. This year will not be a good one. 5. Nothing special. Just running around like normal. 6. There are so many places I would love to go for a week. Some place deeply personal would be Austria. My dad studied their as a young man and both my brother and myself would like to take him back to a place where he has fond memories.
