The London United and Siyan Yasilievich pulling off the impossible? Game 7 The London United coming into this season didn't have the highest expectations, but one thing was for sure and that was to at least get to the playoffs. London has never won a playoff series heading into the season and the goal ultimately was to break this and with Yasilievich being traded to London, with many other moves, it seemed like it could be a possibility. London ended up making the playoffs, taking down Riga and breaking the curse, but there was much more. London would then take down the favorites in the European Conference in the Prague Phantoms and found themselves in the conference finals against HC Davos Dynamo. Siyan knew this team too well, in which he was just dealt from Davos to London and it was going to be a battle for the ages, where only one could become the victor. The series was back and forth with eventually London staring down the jaws of defeat, where they found themselves at a 3-2 deficit. The theme for London this entire playoffs was just "X more wins is all we need." At this point, they only needed 6 more wins to become the cup champions, but they'd have to go back to back against a very strong Davos team. London would end up taking Game 6 and forcing a Game 7, where Siyan would have to return to Davos and he knew that his entire career had built up to this point. He was facing down against his old team, his old general manager, his old friends, his old fans, and the team that made him who he is today. The game started with Davos netting one five minutes in and it wasn't looking good for Yasilievich and the London faithful. However, just seven minutes later, Siyan would take things into his own hands and send a pass right over to Molly the Cat with an easy goal, tying up the game at 1. Siyan was hearing it from the fans, as the boos reigned down and he knew that he was going to have to play the role of the villain in this one. The period would end and the score would be 1-1, where at this point anyone could take the game. The second period would start and a back and forth game was commencing, however Siyan would send a pass to Molotov who would tap it to Molly the Cat, who again would tap it in and London would now have the lead! Siyan now had two points in two goals for London and it seemed like this could become a real possibility that London could take the win. Just a couple minutes later, Hunor Solyom would find his first goal of the playoffs on the powerplay and London would now take a 3-1 lead heading into the third period, but as everyone knows, no 3-1 leads are safe. There was now just one more period, 20 more minutes until London could do the impossible and make it to the next round, the finals! Heading into the third just six seconds in, Florida Man would net one for Davos and the score would then become 3-2 and it seemed that the momentum had completely shifted. Not only was Davos starting to step it up, it seemed London was running out of gas and the fans were back in it as well. However, London had a trump card in this series and all of the playoffs, that being Jesse Teno. Teno was able to keep the game under control after facing chance after chance and Davos with two minutes left in the third pulled the goalie. This was it. This was going to be the pinnacle of the series, the pinnacle of Siyan's career and he stepped on the ice for the final remaining two minutes. Davos would get chances, but it just wasn't enough as they couldn't get one past Teno and with a minute twenty five left, Leonard Triller would receive a pass from Molly the Cat and Siyan Yasilievich and score the empty netter. That would end up being the dagger. The Davos faithful and fans sat in shock and awe as they had seen their team dominate, but just couldn't end up pulling through when they needed it most. The coach decided to keep Siyan on the ice to let him enjoy this moment, to which Molly the Cat and Igor Molotov decided, not only are we going to end Davos' season, we're going to make it sting. Yasilievich found himself wide open as Molotov would pass it to Molly and it would eventually find Yasilievich's stick. It was like the pass from Molly was in slow motion as the fans watched Yasilievich sit wide open and wind up for a one timer. It was a horror for the 19,000+ fans in attendance and Yasilievich found the puck on his stick and blasted it past Lachlan Summers! It was dead silent in the stadium and you could hear a pin drop as Yasilievich screamed at the top of his lungs and did the Kirby Dach "I can't hear you" celebration to the Davos fans. Not only was Davos' season ended in Game 7, but they were burned by the player who was the captain for their team, who brought them to many playoff appearances and many wins. It was betrayal for Davos and at this moment they knew they'd never accept Yasilievich as their own ever again. London now has found themselves heading to the finals and Yasilievich and friends will face off against a familiar face in Xavier Booberry who also was a part of Davos for some time. Post-Game Yasilievich had dropped 4 points in Game 7, 1 goal and 3 assists with a +2 and 9 shots overall. He was asked about his thoughts on Davos and if he had any words to say to them, to which he said, "I have nothing but respect for the players and general manager of Davos. They've got an amazing team and I think they could win a couple in a season or two. I know the fans of Davos will never want me back and that's something I'll just have to accept. I have made some great friendships on Davos, but this time I'm able to come out on top. I'll always be able to brag that I took them down after leaving, however, I'm most likely just poking at a bear. If we end up meeting again in the future, I expect the series to go much differently." Yasilievich now will be taking on the Seattle Bears in the finals, which should be a crazy matchup for both of the teams. It's going to be another reunion of ex-Davos players and we'll have to see who comes out on top!

1. I think it was bit of an unfair matchup. I also feel bad because we’ve now beat down Vegas twice in two seasons. 2. I feel like the Marlins are a really good team and we’ll have to bring our A-game. 3. Yes, it’ll be interesting to see who we play! 4. Yeah, this GM sucks. 5. Well, Yasilievich is going off right now with 13 points! 6. Florida and Dallas. It will be a banger. -
Siyan Yasilievich the Passing King of the Playoffs? We caught up with Siyan Yasilievich after their victory over the Prague Phantoms, taking down the first seed and sending them to the EU conference finals. We asked him a couple of questions on his run in the playoffs which are below! Interviewer: Siyan, you've found a way to help London win their first ever playoff series and send them to the first ever conference finals in franchise history. How do you feel? "Coming here, I wanted to make sure that I had my impact felt in London. I'm super happy with the group with have and being able to finally break the curse is huge for this organization. I feel like at the moment, I'm at my peak and I'm playing exceptional hockey in the playoffs." Interviewer: Speaking about the playoffs, you currently have 13 assists in the playoffs and are a +10. How are you able to contribute offensively to your team? "Yeah, I feel like I'm just helping to set up plays and making sure to utilize every single player on the ice. My best trait is being able to find someone and put them in a place to succeed so they can have easy tap-ins. I've also started to utilize my teammates better and to leverage their strengths to make my game better as well." Interviewer: Are you bothered by the 0 goals in the playoffs, despite you shooting the puck? "I mean, we're winning. It doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy that we're winning and moving on in the playoffs!" Interviewer: On another note, your goaltender Jesse Teno is 7-1-1 with a .955 sv% and 1.51 GAA, anything you'd like to say about that? "Teno has been the best goalie in the playoffs and I don't want to hear anyone else say anyone is close. They're an amazing goalie and have been lights out for us. I thought they were already playing fairly well during the regular season, but in the playoffs they've turned on another gear and have become absolutely insane. Any cup contender needs a hot goalie in the playoffs and we've found ours." Interviewer: I've heard a rumor that you actually have told rookie Leonard Triller to "get open" and you'll find him on the ice. Is this true? "Yep. I remember telling them in the locker room just to get themselves open and the puck will find them. They ended up netting a hat trick shortly after and for a rookie, they've already got a wicked shot. I can't wait to see what they can bring later on in their career!" Interviewer: Is there anything else you'd like to say, especially to Davos who potentially could play you in the conference finals? "Haha. I'm sure it'll be a good series if we play Davos in the conference finals, but I've got a score to settle and I'm looking to prove that I'm the best passer in the league this season. I want to lift the trophy at the end of the season and I don't care how it happens." Interviewer: Thanks Siyan and good luck with the rest of the playoffs! "Thanks for the interview."

1) Worse, I hoped to do much better, but I'm picking it up in the playoffs. 2) Yes, I maxed earned every week. 3) Probably beating Davos. 4) Being not as active as I wanted to be. 5) I would have to say Triller, as I was pretty inactive this season in the LR. 6) This one is a little difficult. I think Triller and Aimkin did a great job.

1. Hey there Kyle Peace, I just want to say enjoy the wildcard! At least you get to make it to the post-season though. 2. I wish my player could be better, but I'm on a new team so it's not the end of the world. If I can be point-per-game at end of season I'm happy. 3. I'm going to say 22 wins. 4. My pick for Team MVP has to go to @Moon for tanking another season. 5. If @Moon give more TOI then I think so. 6. The biggest surprise player has to be Leon Draisatl. I think he's an absolute beast in the playoffs right now. -

I'll say this coming from my perspective, I don't really have any problems with the VHLM Waiver System. Now I'm going to put a little bit of a disclaimer here, but almost every season I have been on the low end of waivers. But that really isn't due to the fact that my "brand" is Mexico City, or that I don't really have a "good pitch." It's because of the fact that I'm able to draft active players and keep them around. I've consistently finished top 4 every single season since I've joined and I have yet to have a single season under 40 wins. I don't get waivers because my team is basically full every season recently, which I think is a good sign that I'm keeping players around and doing a good job of drafting. Should the waiver system change? Maybe. I'd be down to listen to changes that people think should be implemented, but I believe that getting "waivers" aren't really necessary if you draft well and have built a good team from the beginning. The whole point is to teach new players and retain them, right? If you're able to retain your draft picks, you don't need waiver players and instead they can go to other teams to help them out. Also, I'm not trying to take a dig at any GMs in this league. A lot of them are fantastic and do an amazing job overall. Another thing that people say the M is a developmental league, I believe truly it is. However, you can also be a competitive team each season if you play your cards right. You have to be creative with the new rules and draft smart to be able to keep that "contending" status, while also helping newer players. It also helps when you're a good team, retention seems to be a little bit easier because you're at the top. What's my best advice to GMs? Reach out to your players each week. Even if it's just a "Hey, how's it going?" or something simple. Take that extra step. Engage in the locker room. Get your team hyped. Do everything you can to keep players around even if they're just doing practice facility + welfare each week. Make them feel unique and like they belong in your organization. Hope this gave some insight into GMing from my eyes, I'm also hyper active and always on discord due to my ADHD and I cannot expect every GM to be the same. I remember a couple weeks ago when a first gen joined and I had about a two and a half hour conversation with them in text with easily over 300+ messages to teach them how the league works. Have a great day all! -

1. I think it's a pretty cool topic, because you can kind of do anything with it. 2. Retro personally is something that is before my time. For example, I ended up doing a graphic with the old Mexico City Kings logo and that was before my time in the VHL. 3. My favorite Retro clothing trend would be Jeans with a button up shirt. I don't even know if that's retro anymore to be honest. 4. No, I think it's fairly easy, especially if you've been in the league for a bit. 5. Oh 100%, I would love to see Jacob in a retro outfit, it would be funny! 6. Wow, I don't even know what I'd do to be honest. Maybe something about past teams you've been on? That could be cool.

1. I think we've had a great start to the season and I can't wait to see how many wins we can pick up! 2. My player isn't doing very good in the VHL, but my team is. I'm not that mad because of that. 3. I believe it's a temporary set back, we always coming in flying at the beginning and end. 4. Uh, I don't know. Go me! 5. No I didn't make it as my player is in the VHL. I think the all-star event will be fun and I'm the GM for one of the teams! 6. Well, I have the Bruins winning it all and they look good. So going well!
