I can’t wait to play Davos again. Hopefully it’s early on in the season! -
Siyan Yasilievich Addresses the Media Siyan Yasilievich Interview We sat down with defenseman Siyan Yasilievich and asked him a couple questions about the trade. We also asked him about his expectations with London and what he is looking forward to in the future. Interviewer: Hey Siyan, thanks for taking the time to sit down with us. Siyan: "No problem, always willing to talk to the media." Interviewer: So, you've been traded to London, how was this process and why do you think London wanted you? Siyan: "Yeah, so I was willing to explore trade options after Davos unfortunately was eliminated in the finals, because I wanted to explore free agency after this season. I ended up getting dealt just two days later, so that Davos could get something in return for me, instead of receiving nothing when I walk to free agency. It was a smart move by Davos in my opinion. Now why London wanted me, I feel like that kind of speaks for itself." Interviewer: Interesting. What are you looking to bring to this team and is there anything you're looking forward to? Siyan: "I am one of the best passers in the entire league, and the best defenseman at doing so. That's a fact. I led the league with 71 assists in the regular season last season and I plan to up my total this season. I want to play with an elite scorer who I can dish the puck to that can finish off my passes. I'm looking forward to playing with Igor Molotov @Dom and @JCarson, who I believe fit this bill." Interviewer: One last question, is there any expectations you want to set for this upcoming season? Siyan: "I want to lead this team to their first ever playoff series win. They've never been able to do it and I want to be at the front of this cause. I feel like this team has a great core and we've got a window where we can do something very special. Anything less than that is a failure in my eyes." Interviewer: Well Siyan, thanks for your time as always and we can't wait to see you on the ice! Siyan: "No problem, I can't wait as well!"

BREAKING NEWS: Siyan Yasilievich dealt to London Siyan Yasilievich leaving Davos after 4 seasons At 10:35PM EST, Siyan Yasilievich was notified that he would be getting dealt to the London United along with a S89 2nd round pick. Davos in exchange would receive defenseman Mikhail Kovalchuk, a S89 3rd, and a S90 1st. Siyan has been the captain for Davos for 3 seasons now and getting traded is going to be a huge shock to the hockey world. However, this was something that was coming, because Siyan stated that he would not be resigning with Davos unless a cup was achieved. He wanted to eventually test free agency and see where he would land, but ended up getting dealt for assets in return instead of letting him walk away for free, a smart move by Davos. Siyan will be joining London tomorrow and will be skating with the team on Tuesday, where he'll meet some of his new teammates and endless possibilities open up for the defenseman that is in his prime. Siyan is coming off of a 94 point season, with having 71 assists, the most in the league. We asked Siyan his thoughts on being traded to London, especially with a newly appointed GM in @jacobcarson877, to which he said, "I'm excited for this opportunity that I've been given. Davos is a stacked team and it's very easy to look good on a team like that, but I want to be able to take a team that is right at the playoff line to the playoffs. I think London has something special going for them and the new GM Jacob, I have full trust in him. He's already got a great track record and I think he'll continue it in the VHL." Siyan will be looking to lead a London team that just barely missed the playoffs, hoping he can be the big piece the team needs to finally get into the post-season. Extra I just want to say something really quick, thank you @Alex for being my GM for all these seasons. You have done an exceptional job and I honestly think Davos has one of the best atmospheres in the entire VHL. I will always have praise for Alex and his time in Davos, building a team from scratch and taking them to the playoffs, a streak that still hasn't been broken yet. On top of that, the team looks exceptionally talented and will possible make another run to the finals next season. To everyone on the team, @Crstats23, @Thunder, @CowboyinAmerica and @Ahma especially, you guys were a blast in the locker room. It was so much fun to talk to you guys and I can't wait to face you guys on the other side of the ice in the coming season. It's time for a new chapter and I hope I'll see some familiar faces down the road!

Congrats to everyone, two great hirings who are great GMs, can't wait to see what they are going to do!

What's Up With the VHLM Finals, and Why You Should Care

Mexico City Kings Finally Break the Curse June 6 2022 June 6th, 2022, I was named the General Manager for the Mexico City Kings. I've been the GM for the Kings since S84 and I cannot believe it's been around 10 months now since I first started. The Kings were in a rough spot at the time, we had one player, that being @Jason kranz, and a bunch of picks in the upcoming draft. It was going to be an easy turnaround because of the picks left by @youloser1337, who set me up for success and helped the Kings turn around a 8-58-6 record into a 47-16-9 record. We ended up making the playoffs and played the Reapers, the team I used to AGM for in the first round. We ended up beating them and headed to the second round against the titans of the league at the time, the Las Vegas Aces. The beginning of the curse I felt at the time that we had a pretty good team and that we had a chance against the Aces, but the team was also extremely stacked with @Shindigs at the helm. We ended up falling to the Aces in five games if I remember correctly, but regardless in my mind it was a great season to start off on. The first time ever in the league as a GM and I successfully took a team who finished last to the semi-finals, and we also lost to the winner at the time, so I really wasn't complaining. However, little did I know this would be the beginning of the STHS curse on me, where I could never get out of the semi-finals. S85 and S86 Next up was Season 85, my second season as the General Manager for the Kings. I thought coming into this season, we should be able to be a top four team easily, and potentially maybe go for top 2. Well, it did happen, technically, but we ended up getting the fourth seed for the second season in a row, as in S84 we also were the fourth seed. In the back of my mind, I knew that even if we ended up winning the first round, we would have to go against the Las Vegas Aces yet again and take them out, which just seemed almost impossible at the time. We ended up winning the first round against Saskatoon and headed to the second round, where well.. we lost. again. I believe we ended up losing this one in seven, as we had a 3-2 lead and ended up blowing it and then Las Vegas went on to win the cup. again. I knew at this point that I think I was cursed by Simon, because that's the second season in a row where we'd be fourth place and also lose in the second round. Fast forward, it's now my third season in the league as the GM for the Kings (S86) and I'm gonna be honest, I didn't expect us to be good. I thought we would be a 6th-8th seed honestly, but of course, what happens? Can you guess? Of course. Fourth seed. AGAIN. Three seasons IN A ROW. I think at this point Simon just wanted to watch me suffer as we ended up going into the first round and took down Miami, but now we played the absolutely stacked San Diego Marlins who were the first seed. I was like, ah we're probably just going to lose again to be honest, but we ended up taking a 3-1 lead in the series, so I had some hope. Was this finally it? Would we finally be able to break the curse and go to the finals? Absolutely not. Simon knew what he was doing playing with my emotions and we ended up falling to San Diego in Game 7. At this point, I was debating if I even attempt to have a good team and just build for the season after (S88), but I did my best in constructing a team that would be able to at least, make the playoffs. S87, it finally happens? We're now in S87 and the draft was approaching. At this point, I was debating if I wanted to try to be a good team, or if I wanted to draft players for the following season really and compete then, but I decided to try to compete. I got extremely lucky that @Captain nugget decided to come back also, didn't really know where to put this in but here you go. Out of the draft, we had a 7-1-1 roster and I really expected us to be towards the bottom of the league. But then it happened. By a miracle of Simon, we ended up starting the season like 16-0-0 or something like that and I thought this was finally it. Simon has finally decided to bless me and give us a good season. Everything was working, all our players were having career years and we were unstoppable. We ended up finishing 1st for the first time in my history as GM for the Kings and I thought maybe this is finally it. Maybe the curse gets broken! S87 Playoffs to current date The playoffs end up starting and we're the 1st seed, something I've never been able to experience. We ended up playing the Aces in the first round, and honestly it wasn't very close. It felt great to get revenge on the Aces (even though @Blazzer is an amazing GM), for all those times they beat us back in S84 and S85. We ended up beating the Aces in 5 games and headed to the second round, where we would play the bane of our existence, the Houston Bulls. So backtrack a little bit, when I ended up joining the league as GM, @AJW and @jacobcarson877 ended up also joining too. AJW ended up taking over Houston and Jacob took over San Diego. They both made their teams extremely competitive throughout their tenure and have done a fantastic job. So back to where I was, we're going to be playing the Houston Bulls, where for some reason this team always ended up giving us a problem. It didn't matter how good or how bad both teams were, Houston always seemed to get the slight upper hand on Mexico City and I was thinking about the curse in the back of my head. I knew that I could very well lose this series, because on paper, Houston looked like a contender and Mexico City many people said was a "pretender". The series ended up starting off 2-2 and it could've gone anyone's way, but that's when it happened. Game 5. Houston Bulls end up winning and taking the lead. I thought at this point, our season was over. I knew the curse was real. Simon hasn't forgotten. He gave me hope and is about to take it away for the fourth time in a row. I was debating making changes to my lines, but I knew that my lines got me this far, I might as well keep them. Game 6 happens. Win. We end up going to Game 7 for the third season in a row in the second round. This was it. If we could pull it off, we would be going to the finals. The game starts and Houston gets the first goal. Ouch. I'm watching from my press box as I see them score and I start to get worried, but only 6 seconds later, captain nugget the Free Agent and old Mexico City Kings legend ties up the score at one. We end the second and it's a tie game, as close as it can be. Heading into the third, Grizz Tazzo puts in a goal and we're up 2-1! I knew at this point, there was a very high chance that we would break the curse and move on, but of course, that was short lived. Houston would then tie up the score at 2 six minutes later and the game was a coinflip at this point. However, with 5 minutes left, the leading franchise point-scorer Captain Nugget scores and puts the Kings up 1. The clock ticks down and we've done it. The curse is finally over. We're heading to the finals and it's the first time I've been able to steer my team to the finals. You have no clue how nervous I was in potentially choking another season in losing in the semis. We'll be playing the Ottawa Lynx in the finals and the Kings are destined to hold the cup. It's going to be an amazing finals and I hope we're able to come out on top and bring home the second ever championship to Mexico City! Extra To my team if you read this, it's been an amazing season. We've seriously pushed all the way to the finals and broke a curse that I thought would never be broken in my history as a General Manager in the M. You all have been some of the best players I've been able to have in my organization, let's bring home the trophy for every single one of us. We've all come a long way and I believe we can do it. Let's get our names on the trophy and take it home! 1500+ Words

HC Davos Dynamo eyeing the finals One game away In the European Conference, HC Davos Dynamo currently has a 3-2 lead over the Malmo Nighthawks. Davos has shown this season that they're going for a cup and anything less than that is a failure in their eyes. Leading the way currently is Jake Thunder and Siyan Yasilievich, both defenseman for Davos. Currently, both these players have 15 points in the playoffs in just 9 games which is fairly impressive. Jake Thunder has 1 goal and 14 assists, while Siyan Yasilievich has 6 goals and 9 assists (nice). Davos will need to continue to have these two perform if they're going to win the cup as they seem to be the backbone of Davos right now. The one problem is that if these two get cold, scoring could become an issue for Davos and spell disaster for them. We'll see tomorrow if Davos can close out the series and head to the finals!

HC Davos Dynamo Geared up for the Playoffs Siyan Yasilievich is ready Siyan Yasilievich finished the regular season with 23 goals, 71 assists, good for 94 points and also leading the entire VHL this season in assists. Heading into the playoffs though, it'll be a tough task as Davos will be taking on the Riga Reign in the first round, a tough opponent who was able to rebound their team in just one season. We spoke to Siyan where he was able to give us his thoughts on the matchup, to which he replied, "Stylistically, I think Riga is going to be a very rough matchup for us. This team we're up against has not many holes and on top of that, they've kept every single game in the regular season close, which is not what we want as the first seed in the European Conference. Regardless though, I believe in my team and myself that we can get this series done and head to the conference finals yet again. I have some unfinished business with @Arce and I hope to finish it in the conference finals, I must prove I am the better player. We've been practicing and trying out new things too, some special tactics that we can bring to the table in the playoffs that teams haven't really seen from us, so watch out." Siyan and his crew seem determined this season, where this is going to be the best chance the team has at bringing home the championship before the salary cap is going to catch up to them. It's going to be a banger matchup between this two teams, but one thing is for sure, Davos has star players while Riga doesn't have as much as them. We also asked Siyan who he is looking forward to playing on Riga and he said that he is looking forward to playing Isamu Knievel and Calix Pearce since they were "apart of Davos and on his team in the past." He wants to show that he has improved and that he wasn't a bust in his draft, going fourth overall, where most people believed he wasn't worth the pick. Other things happening On another note, Siyan has taken up water polo in the off-season. We asked him why he does this in the off-season and why he likes it so much and he replied saying, "A couple of my friends wanted something to do in the off-season and I just decided to join in. It also helps us stay in shape for the upcoming season, however, man it's a tough sport. The amount of physical activity and concentration you have to put in is crazy, so I'm still getting used to it and all. We also usually end up going out to eat after, my friends and I, so I'd say it's a win-win at the end of the day." Siyan refused to comment on how his water polo team did in the off-season and only left us with a "not the best." Who knows though, maybe the water polo during the off-season might be the secret to Davos finally securing a championship and bringing one home this season!

Mexico City Kings off to the Second Round Round Two for the Kings The Mexico City Kings have officially taken down the Las Vegas Aces 4-1 in their series in the first round. The Kings were able to deal with the Aces pretty handily, marking the first time under GM Coleh that they've beaten the Las Vegas Aces in a playoff series. In the next round, their opponent is still unknown, but it will be between either the Houston Bulls or the San Diego Marlins. The Kings have yet, under Coleh, to make it past the second round, but this might finally be their year as they've secured the first seed in the regular season and seem unstoppable. Leading the playoff charge is Justin Williams, who has 4 goals, 8 assists, good for 12 points and also a +7. The Kings this season are a deep team and are looking to finally bring back the championship trophy to where it belongs, Mexico City.

The Race to the Finish The Race to the Finish In the EU Conference, the race is closer than ever with 2nd place and 7th place being separated by only 10 points. For most teams in EU, there are only 6 games remaining and it's going to come down to the wire. Moscow currently is in first and seems to be a lock for the top seed in the European Conference, with Davos trailing in second. After that, there's a bit of a gap where Malmo is in 3rd with 78 points, however only 5 points separate Malmo and Prague, the difference between 3rd seed and 7th seed. It's going to come down to the last day most likely for who makes the playoffs and who's going to miss, but Davos fans feel pretty safe right now where they currently are. They only need a couple more wins to clinch playoffs, and with 6 games remaining, a 3-3-0 record should get them in regardless of how the other teams do. We caught up with Siyan and asked him his thoughts on the remaining six games, to which he replied, "With only 6 games left, every team is going to be treating it like an elimination game, including us. We have a bit of leeway in the standings, but it doesn't mean we're going to take our foot off the gas pedal." Siyan currently has 21 goals and 63 assists, good for 84 points and a new career high. He's finally turned into the player he was promised to be and he has reached the peak of his career at the moment!

Career Year in Sight for Siyan Yasilievich Can he do it? Siyan Yasilievich, currently the captain for the HC Davos Dynamo is having his best season yet if he continues to produce. Siyan currently has 14 goals, 51 assists, good for 65 points and is a +1. All Siyan has to do is get 6 points in the next 20 games and he will have his best season yet in his career. On top of that, if he's able to achieve 7 points in the next 20 games, he'll be a point-per-game defenseman for the first time in his career. We asked Siyan how he felt about this season so far and the next 20 games, which he said, "I'm really happy with my success so far and the team has really stepped it up. I can tell that everyone wants me to do well and a lot of the team is supporting me in anyway possible. Although our team does struggle to score compared to other teams, we are still night in and night out finding ways to win and everyone is contributing defensively. I can't wait to see what this team potentially holds in the future, but we've got to focus on every single game, every single night. Currently, there is only 4 points of a difference between 2nd and 7th in the European Conference, so every single point matters. I can say with full confidence that at the end of the season, we'll be in a playoff spot!"

It's Rivalry Time - Mexico City Kings vs. Las Vegas Aces It's Rivalry Time - Mexico City Kings vs. Las Vegas Aces Ever since joining the VHLM as the GM for the Mexico City Kings, there was always a team that was stopping us from achieving greatness. A team that would no matter what, make sure we could not get past the semi-finals. A team so good, they were able to go back to back and that team is the Las Vegas Aces. The Las Vegas Aces currently are not what they once were, a fierce team that would end your season in a heart beat. In two seasons, the Mexico City Kings would achieve the fourth seed and make it to the second round, only to be bested by @Shindigs and his Las Vegas Aces. Multiple times were the Kings a contender, but multiple times they had their vision snapped in front of them by the Aces franchise. Nowadays though, the Kings are getting revenge on the Aces for what they did to them in my first two seasons of GMing in the M. This season, the Mexico City Kings are 7-0-0 against their rivals and are sitting alone at the top of league, sporting a 38-11-1 record. Leading the way for the Kings is Captain Nugget, a long time King who has been here for multiple seasons, but this season he has finally broke out into the player he was promised to become on draft day. Captain Nugget currently leads the M in points with 105 points in 50 games played, with 43 goals and 62 assists on the season. As for Las Vegas, they currently do not have a player in the top ten of points, assists, or goals this season. Las Vegas also currently sits at 8th in the league, with a 18-30-2 record, and as of right now the Kings would be playing the Aces in the first round of the playoffs. However, there's one thing that the Aces will always have over the Kings, and that's the fact they have two cups in recent times with the Kings having zero. A thorn in my side and an ultimate curse, losing in the semi-finals every single season. S84 playoffs we lost to the Aces in the second round. S85 playoffs we lost to the Aces yet again in the second round. S86 playoffs we throw a 3-1 lead and lose to the San Diego Marlins in the second round. The difference this season is that the Kings are currently the first seed and might be able to break the curse, as every single time they've made the playoffs they've been the fourth seed. Anything but the fourth seed could be gold for the Kings, literally any seed. I swear if we end up getting fourth seed again and lose in the semi finals for yet ANOTHER season, I'm going to lose it. I'm at my breaking point and we have to find a way to break the curse, I refuse to lose in the semis yet again. Maybe we need to lose in the first round to break it, but I'd much rather get to the finals and win to break the curse, as I'm sure anyone else in my shoes would too. Regardless, there's still 20+ games left and it's anyone's game for who will finish first in the league and where the Kings will end up!
