To add to this, it takes some of the skill out of drafting, since any 200 TPE player is already a slam dunk. Much of the fun of drafting is trying to dig for steals and busts. "Why haven't we done this already?" Because it's a big scary change, that's why. And big scary changes take effort and stuff. So I guess let's hop to it. The change I'd maybe make to your proposal would be to give a player 1-3 free VHLM seasons from their draft date to get to the VHL, rather than all the time they want, because I feel like there should still be some push to get them earning TPE and into the VHL. But that's a small detail. Can anyone find a reason why we maybe should NOT do this? The only negatives I can think of are kind of trivial and stupid.

Because I made a case for him in the voting thread. Which brings me to what I think we should do for Top Leader going forward: Make it a nominated thing. And I don't mean a league vote like we already do, but have a member from each team nominate someone(s) from their team in a compelling Media Spot format. It's an easy award to be biased towards, because obviously you're mostly exposed to the leadership of your own team. I was gung-ho about @Green winning it this season because I saw first-hand his dedication and leadership to Riga. Last season I thought @jRuutu should have been heavily considered/won with Davos because I never realized what an excellent and outgoing member he was before being on a team with him. I would have been glad to put up 600 words on why either of them should have won, and I think discussion about such things is the best way to influence how people vote on it.

Hey thanks! Yeah! I'm glad to have won all these awards, they were most unexpected! But I actually have no idea WHY I won any awards here. I think the best argument could have been made for Playoff MVP, but even that argument would have been dumb, and luckily the results show it. I suppose the MVP argument would have come down to Covington vs. Clegane if it was determined Toronto and Calgary had too many stars to single out one of them, but I'm not even positive I should have won that 1v1. And the Shaw split win is just atrocious, not sure why anyone except Toast was doing there. But I honestly should not and cannot complain. It was an extremely successful season, with one of the wackiest and uncertain awards ceremony I've ever seen. The SCleganebowl51 was such a perfect success. Thanks to the GMs and everyone else who likes me!
