One year in the VHL. Holy shit. I can’t believe I stuck with my first ever sim league for a year with no signs of losing interest. 52 weeks of writing, creating, earning, chatting and learning. It feels like it went by so fast and I think that since I took my 6-month look back to talk about all the amazing people I have met and the community, I wanted to look back at myself as a user on this forum and see what I have accomplished in my first year. For those who follow me, you know I pump out decent content every week. Whether it’s my articles, media spots, the few meh graphics I’ve done, or my recent attempt at a podcast, I always put 100% in (except for that one graphic; thank you spartan for accepting it during tax season). Along with responding to 50 Press Conferences, I have produced the following content: 33 Media Spots 51 Articles 10 Graphics 3 Podcasts I have also contributed to the seasonal VHL donation 6 times, won 4 days, gained 7 followers, had 1 recruit, and have gained a forum reputation of 560. All of this has put me at an average weekly earning of 20.5 TPE and a current total TPE of 1,095. I still remember when I was fighting just to get to a few hundred so I could make any impact with my player. Believe it or not, because it took a minute for me to realize, I have 5 seasons behind me with Jesse. I’ve spent time with 3 teams (Saskatoon, Cologne, London), have no awards, and 1 recently earned cup. But being 5 seasons into a full VHLM to VHL career means that my time with Jesse is almost half-way over. I do plan on keeping them for the full 9 VHL seasons but it’s weird to think that in about another year, I’ll be making a whole new player. Don’t worry, I plan to enjoy and cherish every day from now until then. Recently I also managed to get into 3rd for my draft class and probably not too far from catching up to Henry Eagles @Greg_Di. The fight to catch up to John Jameson @Frank however, is definitely far off in the distance. But then again, I’ve still got 5 seasons so see if I can pull it off. I think the one thing I’ve done in the VHL that I wish I could continue to do, is be in a leadership role. I really enjoyed being AGM for San Diego under Jacob for 2 seasons but with my work schedule from January to April the way it is, I know that I cannot in good conscience take any sort of leadership role within a team. I had once thought that GMing would be way above my abilities and it’s sad to think that a little more education and knowledge and I could have had a shot at actually doing it. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve had not only a productive but a quite successful first year in the VHL. I am definitely looking forward to the next one. 531 words for week ending 6/18/2023

1. Never been but if I went, I would have to do it glamping style. 2. Yes! Joined the ProAm for the first time, and got selected for Team USA in the WJC! 3. Just getting to see Jesse's performance in a different scenario. 4. Depends if he's an ogre in a field talking to a donkey. If so, then yes. 5. Being able to rack up all the TPE without having to worry about current performances. 6. Having to come up with media spot topics.

Yes Triller! Amazing lineup!

During their first ProAm tournament, and coming off an incredible playoff run, Jesse Teno is continuing to prove that they belong among the top goalies in the league. As of Day 2 of the ProAm tournament, Teno has lead the Saturn Steelheads to a record of 10-5-2 which puts them only 1 point behind the first place Maui Stingrays. Though after day 1, the Steelheads were also in second place so have maintained a consistent gameplay. Teno’s best game of the tournament might be Game 27 against Doomer’s Boomers on day 2. Teno faced 37 shots and only allowed 1 in the first period giving them a save percentage of 0.973. The lone goal, of course, was scored by Teno’s London United teammate Leonard Triller @Triller on the power play. It seems only fitting that a VHL teammate would know how to best score on their goalie. This performance also earned Teno the third star of the game behind former Saskatoon Wild teammate Nikolas Kauppi @Tetricide. It seems the off-season tournament is working well for Teno as they continue to show just why they were worthy of the Continental Cup. 189 words for week ending 6/11/2023

I promise that my next article will mention Molly the Cat.

Wow. What a way to end the season. With a 15-6-2 record, Jesse Teno and the London United are VHL Champions for the first time in team history. This team broke every London playoff record, though that seems easy since London had never won a playoff series until now. Against all odds they not only won, but did so with a dramatic flair that had fans and players on the edge of their seats. It’s amazing that only last season London hadn’t even made it to the wildcard round and now here they are, under the genius direction of Jacob hoisting the Continental Cup. With such an incredible run, let’s see what it took each game in the finals for London to get to where they are today. Game 1: 3-2 London Trading minimal shots during regulation, both teams managed 2 goals each, Seattle in the 2nd period and London in the 3rd. Going into overtime, Ivan Retoslav became the hero of the game scoring the game winning goal with 3:54 remaining. Teno - 0.935 Game 2: 1-3 Seattle During the first period, Jesse Teno allowed 2 goals on only 4 shots and let in a 3rd during the second period. London only managed 1 goal in the second which was also the only period in this game where they managed to make as many shots as Seattle. Teno - 0.912 Game 3: 2-1 Seattle London managed to prevent Seattle from scoring in the 1st or 2nd period but were unable to prevent 2 goals on the 16 shots in the third. Teno - 0.963 Game 4: 3-2 Seattle London had a high 21 shots in the first period and Siyan Yasilievich grabbed a goal but the team seemed to lose steam when Seattle throttled them with 18 shots to London’s 7, managing 2 goals. Shots in the end were almost even but Seattle was hard to keep out of the net. Teno - 0.925 Game 5: 5-2 London Despite a 50 shot night for Seattle, Teno was able to hold down the fort, allowing London to have 5 different players score the 5 goals. A hard push brought London back from the brink of elimination. Teno - 0.960 Game 6: 2-3 London 79-63 shots in favor of Seattle, triple overtime, and a low-scoring game. Both goalies had an incredible night but it was Jesse Teno who was able to hold out the longest as Sock Monkey put away the game winning goal at 0:36! Teno - 0.975 Game 7: 2-0 London A shutout to end it all. For the win. For the cup. Teno stopped 24 shots as Yasilievich and Igor Molotov scored the opener and the winning goals respectively. Teno - 1.000 A truly amazing showing by both teams as Seattle managed to bring London to a chance of elimination with the last 3 games. But the heart and hard work from the United could not be stopped this time. An incredible team, top notch leadership, and a backstop to end all backstops. Your S88 Continental Cup Champs: The London United.

Last we checked in with Jesse Teno and the London United, they were trading blows with Davos in the European Conference Finals. Now, only days later, we see London pulling off what no previous London team has ever come close to; Game 7 of the Continental Cup Finals. The new motto in London is “one more win”, which has been the course of the games the last three days. London was down 3-1 against Seattle and has since played spectacularly, forcing Game 7 after a 5-2 Game 5 and 3-2 Game 6 which went to triple overtime. Jesse Teno has certainly found their game within the playoffs which has surprised most critics and fans who would have considered Teno’s regular season performance to be average. Heading into tonight’s game, Teno has a 14-6-2 record, 3 shutouts, 0.947 save percentage, 2.00 goal against average, picked up 1 assist, and has only allowed 47 goals. Currently they are also the number 1 goalie in the playoffs under every Leader measure except OT Losses and Assists. Even if Seattle were to take Game 7, I don’t think there’s any ignoring the incredible performance by Teno during these playoffs. 195 words for week ending 6/4/2023

Despite the fall to Davos in the first two games of the European Conference finals, London is still sitting on top of the playoff standings both in their conference and the VHL overall. With a 9-4-2 record and a +14 goal differential, it’s clear that London has a lot to show for their efforts this season. Though considered mid during S88, it seems that something has lit a fire on the team in all aspect. Goaltender Jesse Teno has been an outstanding goalie in their first real taste of the playoffs and it seems all their hard work is finally starting to pay off. Davos is going to be a tough opponent to get through but if London can make it to the finals, it would be an outstanding Cinderella story for this team that up until this season, had not even won a single playoff series. London still has a rough road ahead of them but I think at this point, it would be foolish to write them off. 170 words for week ending 5/28/2023

Thanks for the shoutout! Hopefully I can keep Jesse worth talking about lol. And all good on the pronouns. No one can be perfect all the time. -
1. Sleep! But also lots of training so I can save up for depreciation. 2. The Boss 3. Wear a chicken suit, sunglasses, cowboy hat, and cowboy boots. 4. A heaping plate of scrambled eggs, 2 strips bacon, 2 small sausage links, spiced hashbrowns, toast, and ketchup. (oh I'm hungry now...) 5. They already are! Bringing hockey lessons and equipment to low income and at-risk kids. 6. Tripped the guy getting too deep into their crease.

Looking forward to seeing how this all goes down. Either way, friends forever!

With games 3 and 4 in the books, London leads Prague 3-1 and is a single victory away from moving on to the semi-finals for the first time in team history. Though, the current spot in the quarter finals is also a first for London. This S88 team is clearly unlike any London team before and, led by obvious genius GM @jacobcarson877, it’s clear that this team is gold. With 8 games played between the wildcard round and now, Jesse Teno has proven that their drop at the end of the regular season does not define their ability. As of Game 4 of the quarter finals, Jesse has a record of 6-1-1, is 1st in Wins (6), 10th in Losses (1), 2nd in Save Percentage (0.95), 2nd in Goals Against Average (1.69), and 2nd in Shutouts (2). Jesse has not recorded any Assists or Penalty Minutes. Overall, Jesse is the number 1 goalie of the playoffs so far. In Games 1 and 2, Jesse only allowed 1 goal each game and managed to shutout Prague in Game 3. It wasn’t until Game 4 that Prague got more than 1 past them (4). Prague also managed the most shots on goal of the series (47) after averaging 31 over the 3 previous games. Jesse has also managed to grab 3 stars of the game (2 1sts and a 3rd). Of course, the wins wouldn’t come so nicely if it hadn’t been for the hard work of the players running up and down the ice who have given London an incredible +11 goal differential, the highest of the playoffs. The next best differential is Calgary with +6. In the series opener, Leonard Triller @Triller had a hat trick and, amazingly, teammate Siyan Yasilievich @badcolethetitan assisted on all 3 goals as well. Is there a hat trick version for assists? If not, there should be one. Speaking of London players being amazing, they have also outplayed Prague in the Power Play/Penalty Kill. Though London has taken more penalties (28-16), London has managed to score on 3 of their Power Plays and have only allowed Prague to score once. Not only is this great for Jesse Teno, but also reflects amazingly well on the London defense. Looking forward now, should London continue to dominate Prague, it’s looking more likely that they will be facing Moscow in the semi-finals. During the regular season, London’s record against Moscow was 1-4. However, London had the same record against Prague so it’s possible that despite the regular season, London could manage to pull it off and get through Moscow. Though, with how Moscow is dominating Davos, it could also be a fight to the end. Is it probable that London will be moving on? Unless Prague can make a big change for Game 5, yes. Is it possible that they can then get through Davos or Moscow? Maybe. If Davos could manage to get through Moscow, that would be the better chance for London to make it to the finals since their record against Davos was 4-2. But we shall see what happens during tonight’s games and London will go on from there. 523 words for week ending 5/21/2023

With their first ever appearance in the VHL post-season, Jesse Teno has helped the London United not only survive the Wild Card round, but has also helped London win their first ever post-season series! With a 3-1 series win over Riga, London is officially heading into the playoffs and Jesse Teno is soaking it all in. The first game of the series would also be a shutout for the goaltender and set the stage of a successful run. During the 4 games, Teno managed a 0.944 save percentage, 2.0 goals against average, 1 shutout, and only allowed 8 goals. This was against Henry Tucker Jr. who managed 0.932 save percentage, 2.75 goals against average, and held the United to only 11 goals over those games. “I’m really looking forward to my first playoff series,” said the goalie. “I never saw the playoffs in the M, didn’t make it past the first round in the E, and last season we didn’t even make it here. So I’m just looking forward to finally seeing some playoff hockey from the ice instead of from home.” 182 words for week ending 5/21/2023

1 Worse, honestly. Jesse did about as well as they did last season and I'm a little disappointed in that. I was hoping to get a bit more out of this season. 2 Yes! Had to claim welfare twice due to life and work but otherwise I maxed out. 3 Getting that series win over Lachlan and Davos! 4 Jesse falling in value in the second half. 5 Triller with his amazing graphics! 6 Probably Molly the Cat. Always getting into things.

No pressure or anything lol

Jesse Teno and their fiancé were spotted all over London this past weekend with a photographer. Rumor has it that this was for their official engagement photoshoot. It is unclear as to whether or not these pictures will be posted publicly or to social media but from those who saw them, they said that they looked happy. Jesse was seen posing in front of the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, the London Bridge walking path, and even in front of the London United arena. Even the United’s mascot got in on the pictures. There is still no officially announced date for the wedding but Jesse has hinted at the celebration taking place back home in Vermont. Jesse’s fiancé was spotted on her own walking into a wedding planner’s office in Manchester so it does look like the planning is fully under way. We wish Jesse and their fiancé all the luck in putting together what we are sure will be a beautiful wedding. 157 words for week ending 5/14/2023
