  1. Finished reading Legends and Lattes the other day and damn was that a fun and fast read. Nice and cozy with just a sprinkle of drama. Very nice if you want to read something that has a good story and mostly calm fluff. Anyone else using StoryGraph? Would love to add some friends on there.
  2. So excited to see what Lachlan can do next season!
  3. Being a first-gen means starting with nothing when you join the VHL. With no carryover of TPE to get you started, you’re stuck with whatever the pro-rated TPE is from where you are in relation to the season plus whatever you can figure to earn in the first week. So, since Jesse isn’t up to much of anything, I thought I would quickly go through my progression of TPE since joining the week ending June 19, 2022. Since June, I have earned a total of 848 TPE and averaged 21.2 TPE per week with 15 per week being my most common earning. My first week I earned 60 TPE; 54 Base, 2 Practice Facility, and 4 Welfare because Shindigs had yet to slide into my DMs and tell me what was what. From there I took off like a rocket, earning 21 and 29 TPE in my second and third weeks. I hit the ground running and honestly, I haven’t wanted to stop. Sure, I struggle some weeks and currently work is making participating next to impossible but I’m nothing if not a TPE whore and I plan to grab up all that I can. My best week, outside of Week 1, was the week ending January 1, 2023; and what a way to ring in the new year. Yes, the free 26 TPE from the Holiday Celebration is all to thank but I could have easily just earned that and nothing else. Instead, I did my max earn 13 plus wrote Jesse’s biography. It was a well-earned week. But, for the highest week without outside help, that would be the week ending October 30, 2022 with 30 TPE earned all on my own. It consisted of the 13 capped plus 5 VHFL points, Donation 5 TPE, and a Donation Doubles Week. I did have higher weeks that wouldn’t be considered “free” but I’ll count doubles week from theme weeks to be outside influence. Lately I have been stagnant at 13 since I cannot seem to get a point out of Fantasy Zone these last few weeks to save my life. Just not my season, I suppose. All this to say that my hard work has me as the top of the first-gens for the S85 class and one of four in the top ten of my class. I am currently sitting in fifth for TPE earned, having recently passed Acydburn for the position permanently. It’s going to take a few weeks to a few months before I pass Phil but I’ll get there; just need to keep on chugging and work for every TPE I can grab. I also have no plans to retire Jesse before their final season so we will see how far up that S85 leaderboard I can get. We will also see if I can ever catch up to current top spot Frank. But there are a lot more seasons to go and I have all the time in the world. (Except for now because tax season). 502 words for week ending 3/19/2023
  4. Answer 3 for 1 TPE or 6 for 2 TPE For week ending 3/19/2023 1. Well, our season has come to an end. How do you feel about it overall? 2. Who do you think is going to win the cup? 3. What are you plans for the off season? 4. Are you off to the JST? Looking forward to the draft? 5. What is one thing you're player is going to be working on during the off season? 6. How do you hold/eat pizza?
  5. Great listen as always! Looking forward to the next one. But damn did you make me yawn a lot lol.
  6. Barely been here a year but I hope one day I can say the same. Congrats on the milestone and to many more!
  7. As Jesse Teno walked into the London United locker room for the final time this season, they seemed to take their time packing up their things. It was a slow, methodical cleanup of their equipment and they made sure to speak to every member of the team and the crew to say goodbye for the off season. It seemed harder than ever, especially with a large personality already missing from the crowd. It has been a tough season for the starter. They had a lot of ups and downs in their game and struggled for a few stretches here and there. And knowing that they lost out on the playoffs by a single loss really stung for the sophomore goalie who had spent the season trying to prove their worth. It was not the worst record, but not the best. They were also taking quite the beating at the end. “It’s hard to go out on a few tough losses. Not the way I wanted to see this season end and not how I has hoped my first year as starter would go. I just have to hope that any work I put into the off season will make a difference when we come back.” Speaking of coming back, with the sudden retirement of the GM Dil, a space has been left as well as an uncertainty within the team. Without any idea as to who might come in to lead them next, the United are hoping that new management won’t make too many big moves and will give the core a shot at proving themselves next season. Also with the upcoming draft, it’s equally uncertain who might be brought in to shore up the team in the coming seasons. But that is for another day and another worry, thought Jesse is apparently having some worries. “I still have not seen any action in the playoffs and I don’t have a spectacular record. I just hope that incoming management will see that I am still worth keeping around. I really like being in London but I guess we’ll see if they plan to do any shaking up if we end up in a rebuild.” It’s doubtful that the London goalie will be finding themselves on a new roster as the person who might be getting the job seems in favor of keeping them around. Also, with the ongoing goalie situation in the VHL, it is more than likely that London would have to keep Teno around just on the grounds of available inventory. For now, though, it seems, Jesse Teno will have an extended off season to work on their game and to get ready for next season. Along with working on their charity, Jesse Teno has a long few weeks ahead of them before the hard work begins. Though it seems that they are also putting their hard earned accounting degree to work and doing not only their tax return, but other on the side because, well, I guess they don’t have enough to do to take up their time. 511 words for week ending 3/12/2023
  8. For the past week, Jesse Teno has been locked up inside their quaint Vermont home in the mountains of Manchester with their head in the books. Not reading books, but accounting books. They have been so hard at work on their tax returns and they have barely looked up to even acknowledge their fiancé as she brings them food. They have spent about ten hours every day working on their taxes and one has to wonder why they don’t just hire someone or use an easy program like TaxWorks. Well let me tell you why. Teno received a degree in accounting from the University of Vermont and has reportedly done their own taxes since they were in college. But with the new complications brought on by their charity, it has made things a bit more difficult. Not difficult in level but difficult in that they need to be very careful while preparing the paperwork. 154 words for week ending 3/12/2023 Okay but seriously I've been so busy at work I barely have time to think about anything else. 5 more weeks and I'll be back to being social.
  9. I miss knowing what the hell is going on around here. And I'm definitely not going to be able to create any content until tomorrow or the weekend. 😭

  10. For week ending 3/12/2023 1. We're in the playoffs! How are you feeling? 2. I know it's a little scary right now but do you think we'll come back and move onto the next round? 3. The three last games went to OT and we won two of them. Do you think we can capitalize on the next OT game? 4. Have you made any sacrifices to Simon recently? 5. Any new superstitions or pre-game rituals for the playoffs? 6. Puppies or kittens?
  11. Holy shit I love this!
  12. Welcome! Glad you found your way here and looking forward to seeing what you do! Enjoy the VHL!
  13. The help will always be appreciated!
  14. Despite Jesse Teno having put up a good fight in the end, they could not help their team cross the finish line into the playoffs. So, with that, Jesse Teno and London’s season is over. They lost the last game of the season to HC Davos Dynamo 1-2, with Jesse earning an impressive 0.960 save percentage as they were able to save 48 of 50 shots. Though the second to last game, also against Davos, saw Teno and Booberry giving it all they had as they faced nearly identical shots and let in 6 and 5 goals respectively. It has also gone around that Teno was a bit disappointed when they found out that they would not be facing off against their friend Lachlan Summers in either game. And with the playoffs now out of reach for London, it seems the two goalies will have to wait until next season to face off. Where does this leave Jesse Teno? In a decent spot, we think. With the upcoming loss of GM Dil, London will have to find new leadership and it is unsure if any future leadership will be making moves with the players. But since Teno is the only goalie for the team, and the need for goalies remains high, it’s doubtful that they will be up for trade. For now though, Teno is committed to staying with London through their contract and possibly beyond. They have only just finished their sophomore season but anything could happen now. Jesse probably will not be taking any awards home this season but they have many more to come in the VHL that could be award worthy. We were able to grab them for a quick quote as they left the arena after the last game: “It’s disappointing, I won’t lie. To be that close to clinching and falling short is hard to swallow. I’ll just have to do my best to train during the extended off season and be ready for the next.” We will catch them for another quote next week during locker cleanout day. Jesse Teno ends S87 with the following stats: 34-23-7 Record 0.925 Save Percentage 2.62 Goals Against Average 3 Shutouts According to the Index, Jesse Teno also ends the season with the following rankings among VHL goalies: 6th in Wins 7th in Save Percentage 6th in Goals Against Average 8th in Minutes Played Once all the official business is done here in London, Jesse Teno plans to head home to Vermont to rest and relax for a bit before getting back down to business. Between their charity and training, we anticipate the London goalie having a very busy off season. Speaking of the charity; it has up to today serviced over 2,000 families by providing free hockey equipment and lessons. Jesse has stated that as more money comes into the charity, they plan to start giving out grants to local rinks that need funds to improve their facilities. It was even finalized last week that once Jesse was back in Vermont that they would begin with their local rink, Riley Rink in Manchester. The facility is in need of some minor maintenance and could use a new set of bleachers. Aside from that, Jesse Teno has family and friends to look forward to seeing. Everything else with London will fall into place eventually and maybe one day Jesse Teno will start in the VHL playoffs. But until then, they are going to be preparing for the next one and enjoying the time off at home. 589 words for week ending 3/5/2023
  15. Answer 3 for 1 TPE or 6 for 2 TPE. 1. We are in the final stretch of the season! How are you feeling? 2. We're currently middle of the pack. Think we have a chance for a good playoff run? 3. Only 3 games left but I think it's safe to ask: who do you think should be the Marlins MVP this season? 4. Have you hit 200 TPE to move up next season? Or will you be sticking around a bit longer? 5. Who do you think is going to find success in the post season in the VHL? 6. If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
  16. Update: Looks like I'll be sleeping at work again. Repairs haven't begun because they can't find the damn break.

Have you told them to follow the water?

And I'm so sorry that is definitely a personal nightmare now.

  17. Had to sleep at work last night. Construction crew ruptured the main water line in my city and there was no water. Still isn't. Almost 24 hours.

  18. It's been a quiet week for Jesse Teno who has not played. A game in the last few days. Currently taking up the net has been the London Goalie B-LND 2 who has been dropping the ball a bit but has a manged a few wins. With all this extra time on their hands, Jesse has spent the week traveling around the UK, checking out local shops and amusements. They also finally managed to make their way to Cardiff to participate in the Doctor Who Experience. They were spotted by fans and media alike, finding themselves at the start of their own mini photo op line at different times during the day. Jesse always seems happy to take pictures with anyone who requests, even stopping for media once in a while. It seems Jesse has been enjoying their few days off and hopefully they will be ready to help London close out the season with a few more wins. 159 words for week ending 3/5/2023
  19. Hello from the dark depths of tax season. It has only begun. I am drowning.

  20. Yes this is terrible but it's tax season and it's honestly all I have time for right now.
  21. 3 for 1 or 6 for 2 1. We're in the back end of the season! Only a handful left to go. How are you feeling? 2. What do you think your player's biggest improvement has been since the start of the season? 3. What color is your players hair? 4. How have you been feeling with balancing real life and producing content for the VHL? 5. When you eventually retire this player in about a year and a half, do you already have a name lined up for your next one? 6. If dinosaurs roamed the Earth, which one would you keep as a pet?
  22. “Jesse, you’re four and two in your last six games. How are you feeling?” “Not great, to be honest. I know it’s a couple good wins but I’ve been really struggling to keep the puck out of the net.” “What do you think you’ll be working on to improve that?” “I think for now I need to work on my glove hand. I think I’m letting a lot in on that side so I need to tighten up that speed.” “London is not looking great overall with you in net recently. Could that be affecting your on-ice performance?” “Sometimes, yea. I think I let the bad games get into my head. I seem to have one mediocre game followed by a bad one usually.” “What do you think your team could do to help you?” “I mean, I always appreciate a blocked shot but honestly my team is really trying so I’m just doing my best to hold the fort down.” 161 words for week ending 2/26/2023
  23. Haven't had the time or energy to sit down and pick up a book but I did manage to bang out a few short audio books during my commute and work. A Mind of Her Own - Paula Mclain Wishful Drinking - Carrie Fisher The Minuteman - Greg Donahue Now currently listening to Shockaholic, Carrie Fisher's second book then I'll listen to her third and final book, The Princess Diarist.
  24. The one day this week I work from home and the VHL is so quiet.

  25. Thank you! I had the perfect inspiration.
