    1. Yup, already done. It's a good idea, maybe we'll see some teams changing their names soon?

    2. Confident, probably the best word to describe it. We're unstoppable.

    3. I rarely follow peoples' careers. I guess I was the most curious about Frank's recreate, but he recreated in the offseason.

    4. Did we? I'm not sure now how it went haha

    5. The player age just bugs me. Either get rid of it, or make the players age.

    6. Honestly, the person I enjoy spending time with is myself. I'd just take 24h off by myself, without a phone, somewhere away from others.

aimkin got a reaction from Triller in Teno Awakens...
Jesse Teno woke up to the sound of a door closing in their dark London flat located deep within the city. They were on their couch, head pounding, and their hands wet. No. Not just their hands. Their clothing too. It was sticking to their skin and felt thick. Jesse sat up slowly, wanting to rub what felt like sleep from their eyes but their hands stopped when the wetness smelled metallic. They finally stood, feeling wobbly on their feet, and made their way towards the bathroom. They stumbled on furniture that had been moved out of place. But finding the bathroom light was easy; just reach around the wall and slap the button. The light stung, telling them that they had been in darkness for quite a while. When their eyes finally adjusted and they looked up into the mirror, they were shocked to see themselves covered in blood.

Jesse Teno kicks puppies and steals candy from babies. They push old people to the ground and yell at customer service members just trying to get through the day. They are a troll online and on the ice. Jesse Teno is the most hated player in the VHL to date and there is no stopping them.

Teno was in more fights than any other player in high school, college, and now the VHL. For a goalie, they are quite the menace and unofficial enforcer of the London United. Get in their crease? Hope you didn’t need that knee cap. Tap their pads one too many times at a rebound attempt, guess you didn’t need those teeth after all. Teno has also been documented as the goalie with the most broken sticks not only in a season, but in a single game. During a recent 5-2 loss to Moscow, Teno was so fed up with losing to Olober Syko that they broke a stick with every goal scored against them. It’s rumored that some of the stick shards ended up in some other player’s skin like large splinters. Apparently, the equipment manager also had to run out during the 2nd intermission to go buy back-up sticks.

Outside of the VHL, Teno has also managed to get in some hot water with the SEC and the IRS as allegations of fraud and embezzlement have been linked towards their foundation. According to sources, while The Teno Foundation may has raised $4.2 million total, it seems that only about $1.5 million of that money has actually been spent on charitable causes. Documents and financial statements claim that nearly all of the money has been spent however investigators tell us that much of the equipment was purchased second hand. It would seem that the Teno Foundation also failed to pay many of their contractors who built and refurbished the rinks. On top of the lack of money spent on the focus of the charity, other sources have also spotted Teno driving around in not only a top-of-the-line Tesla, but a 2024 Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a Ducati Panigale V4 R, and they had also been seen at a Rolls-Royce dealership in Manhattan while on break. If these allegations prove true, then the London admins must be happy to be seeing the goalie go after this season.

It seems while investigating the above allegations against London United Goalie Jesse Teno, our offices were broken into and most of our paperwork related to the case has been stolen or destroyed. Some were found inside the office shredder. We do not know if Teno themselves did this or if it was some other bad actors protecting them, but we have brought in the FBI to investigate the break-in and theft. We are also unsure as to how anyone knew of our investigation as our work has yet to go public. No one in this publication has made any mention of it outside of the office. We believe that Teno may have someone working on the ins…

aimkin reacted to jacobcarson877 in Call for Proposals: London United Re(location?, brand?)
If you look at the VHL Teams page, you see a lot of really wonderfully crafted teams, brands and logos. Most of them are even conveniently similarly styled, with distinct black outlines and white highlighted shading. There’s a few with more matte finishes, but I can understand a couple classes of logos. There is however a logo that is unlike any other, with a weak brand, and weak connection to the geographic location, and a complete lack of intimidation.

In case you haven’t put it together yet, I’m talking about the London United. A busy, yet equally flat logo, with at least 6 noticeable, yet awkwardly laid out elements. Text so small I often forget it is there at all. Small detailing but no edgework, highlighting or depth. A complete opposite design philosophy to any of the other logos across any of the 3 leagues. The brand is essentially just “New York Americans but make it British I guess”, sharing nearly identical colours, naming and it looks like even font. All that is missing is some big-ass guns on the Americans logo and I think we’d be at the same spot. I think New York also has a pretty weak name, so doubling down here on the “Name a city in the country and then use a word from the country name” is pretty disappointing. I can live with one weak brand here, so I’ll get rid of the bigger evil.

So lets try to come up with something better here. We’re looking for a clever connection to an intimidating beast, faction or perhaps even emotion? We’re looking for an inspiring geographic location with a rich history of good vibes and general scrappiness. I’d love an alliteration, but that’s probably just me.

We have seen some ideas already, notably @aimkin's Scotland Nessies, which I love, but I’ll leave them to promote their idea this Theme Week, and I’ll come from a different direction, for Forum Content.

Behold the power of AI Art (and a lack of patience on my part to wait for it to make anything better), and the power of the Dublin Druids!

This team hearkens back to a rich history of Celtic, and specifically Gaelic culture. The Druids are a mysterious, and often sinister class of religious leaders, referenced to as practitioners of human sacrifice by the Greeks and Romans.

Turn those walking sticks into some wonderful knotted hockey sticks, a beautiful (and unique!) green, orange and white colour scheme, and take to the ice!

Seriously though, London needs a fresh coat of paint regardless, and I endorse most cases of getting them some freshening up. Explore Scotland, Ireland, Wales, heck even somewhere else in Western Europe! Something that isn’t the second version of an existing team, with some comparable logo design would be wonderful, and I would greatly appreciate it! Tag me in all of your creations and lets see what we can do! I’m sure some other BOG members would agree it’s about time here for a new logo at least, if not a full relocation.

    1. We're rocking and rolling, firing on all cylinders. London Gud m8.

    2. I think it's the Bernard lager carb loading before games. Last season, he was abstaining from it and look at it, he had his worst season since his sophomore year! He's back now, and shipping from Czechia to London is cheaper than it was to Vancouver. Cheaper shipping, more Bernard lager, more production.

    3. I think everyone did their part, but I don't think it was mine. I left a baby goat in the middle of a pentagram made from hockey sticks, with burning pucks in the corners. But last time I checked, the goat was still there.

    4. They're our star(ting) goaltender, they've always carried a huge load on their shoulders. Yes, we rely on Teno heavily, but we also have an elite offense and a strong D-core.

    5. Nope. The amount of my friends who are somewhat fluent in english (well...at least on my meh level lol) is small, and so is the amount of my friends who are into hockey. Only one friend is in both these groups, and he's not interested. What a weirdo.

    6. I used to play hockey as a kid, I would switch between defense and left wing. I wasn't really good enough skater to handle playing center, and I was a big kid (sadly, I stopped growing at 12 or 13), strong along the boards and in front of the net. A bully lol.
  24. Cheers
aimkin reacted to Victor in Thoughts on potential currently active Hall of Famers
It's roughly the midpoint of the season which means soon I will be putting up the HOF ballot up for BOG discussion. Most of you will see the results of that discussion and vote in around a month or so when the induction is announced in the off-season.

Anyway, I like to use this time to look ahead at who currently playing might be joining the ballot after their retirement and on this occasion will share the (not particularly detailed) thought process.

S85 draftees: John Jameson @Frank and Jesse Teno @aimkin are slam dunk Hall of Famers in my mind, perhaps even both first ballot entries. Teno has the two utterly dominant playoff runs in S88 and S92, plus a league-best regular season in S91 in between, and an overall consistent body of work dragging London to becoming an elite franchise. Jameson maybe had less trophies than expected, but is on track for a fourth 100-point season, has been ever-present in the Boulet conversation and also has transformed a middling franchise in Prague. Doubt anyone else from S85 makes it.

S86: The Frenchman's @OrbitingDeath case is gathering pace, having won his first championship and individual trophy last season and likely adding to that in S93. Lachlan Summers @kirbithan is in the same boat as Teno, maybe needs another strong season to be slam dunk but has done enough for the ballot. Time is running out for the rest of the draft class and too early to tell for anyone younger.

Since my last post I have finished the audio books of The Lightning Thief, The Messenger by Terry Maggert, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Currently I am listening to Dungeon Madness which is the 2nd book in the Divine Dungeon series but I'm listening to the dramatized adaptation and it's so much better than the regular single narrator.

My up nexts are Sea of Monsters and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It's possible you may see a pattern here lol. I'm also attempting to pick up a physical book during my short down times during my work from home days and that is Little Thieves by Margaret Owen. I received it in a blind book purchase so we'll see how that goes.
