    IMPORTANT

yeah but what does it mean
  2. The Stockholm Vikings have almost clinched a playoff spot, with Davos' elimination number at two after tonight's games. It's likely that the Vikings will have the worst record out of the six teams reaching the post-season, but it would be unwise to label them as the worst of the playoff teams. For one, it should be noted that the Stockholm Vikings are a better hockey team than the New York Americans. The Americans worse than the Vikings? No way! After doing extensive research on the matter, I have concluded that yes, New York is worse than Stockholm. Here are some things worth noting: -the Vikings have won two straight games against the Americans despite New York finally unleashing their secret weapon in net, NYA G -the Vikings have Lloyd Light -the Vikings listen to Chip Skylark's "My Shiny Teeth and Me" as a team before every game while brushing their teeth Those three pieces of info are really all that one needs to look at to realize that Stockholm is a team primed for a strong post-season. Rest assured, it isn't just New York that is worse than these guys: the Vikings were 6-2 against the Cologne Trains this season, who always made sure they had their best players on the ice every time the two teams met.
  3. Classic case of a team winning a game against an inferior team. That is wat.
  4. Why was Brookside playing though?

  6. It's inefficient to have open cap space, and so teams plan things out financially before the season starts. That doesn't leave much room for potential trades; a lot of the mid-season trades that are made were planned at the beginning. It's hard for a seller to hold on to an asset and make a deal at the deadline, because it's unlikely that there will be multiple teams looking to add a player who they didn't plan for because they would not know if the deal would be made.
  7. Winners of the last four Victory Cups, the New York Americans are currently tied for first in the VHL with the Quebec City Meute. The Americans have won eight games in a row, a streak that started with back to back victories over the Meute. Including those two losses, Quebec has won just four of its past eight games, allowing New York to catch them in the standings. New York is winning the season series against Quebec with three wins in the five games played between the teams thus far. The final three games between the teams could have a big impact on who wins this extremely close race. Down seven points to these two teams, with a game in hand, are the Helsinki Titans. With about a third of the season left, the Titans definitely have a shot at the Victory Cup. Meanwhile, in more important news, the Stockholm Vikings are still in a playoff position. They sit two points behind Europe's second-place Express, and 11 points ahead of the Dynamo, the team that is looking to unseat them from third place. The Vikings are a young team with a very bright future. While any waves that they might make in the playoffs this season would be a pleasant surprise, they will be a team to watch for seasons to come. Is that enough words yet?

  9. You guys got beat by one of the best teams in the league. It's really no big deal.
  10. Coming into the season, the Stockholm Vikings were seen as a team that would compete with Davos for the third playoff spot in Europe, but almost halfway through the season, they are currently second in the conference and fourth overall in the standings. Currently second in the league in goals scored, the Vikings sit closer to first than they do to third. With 3.16 goals per game, the Vikings trail only the Quebec City Meute, whose are at an incredible 4.16 per game mark. Perhaps the most interesting fact about Stockholm's offensive success is that their leading goal-scorer, Mario de Rossi, is tied for just 13th in goals at 16. The Vikings boast seven players with at least ten goals scored, including a three-way tie for second (with 14 goals) between Lord Karnage, Lloyd Light, and Teuvo Ruutu. The rookies and sophomores for the team, which comprises most of the squad, have been impressive. De Rossi and Karnage are both rookies, as is backup netminder Jax Barnstormer, who has a 7-3 record with a 0.918 save percentage. Ruutu and Light are both in their second year along with Jack Kowalski, who has a team-leading 38 assists, slotting him at second in the league behind Quebec's Aksel Thomassen. The Vikings schedule thus far has been easier than that of the Cologne Express, who were considered to be a pretty sure thing for second place in Europe, so they will find difficulty in keeping their place in the standings during the second half. With the threat of Davos still around as well, Stockholm knows they cannot become complacent even with impressive start.
