  5. Nice, that would be a fun way to end the sim if enough people log on. Also Zoo tycoon would be hilarious and fantastic to watch. We're all looking forward to that one for sure!
  6. Thank you for the role and congratulations to @TheNeonShamanand @ScottyP! We've got an awesome team, let's bring the cup back to Oslo! Thanks AJ!

  8. Post-Dental Bedtime Stories With Beketov: A VHL Recap & Review On Wednesday afternoon (or evening depending on where you live) VHL members were treated to a 2 hour live stream of Bedtime Stories with @Beketov ft. brief cameos from Luna! Beketov set the mood for the stream by informing VHL members that he had been to the dentist beforehand and would be reading with a frozen mouth. Would we see drool while he read with a numb face? Only the live stream can show us! Chat participants eagerly awaited the stream as Beketov set up. Chant’s of ‘WHEN’ popped up on the VHL General discord as soon as 3:30pm PST hit. Bek had 22 children's bedtime stories selected for the stream and us viewers knew we were in for a treat. @Moon mentioned he was really looking forward to this as he had been requesting this stream. Beketov kept the chat participants engaged between books and let us pick book numbers from the stack to determine the next book up. The number selection was a great idea to keep us guessing what would be next. Books ranged from classics like Robert Munch’s Mortimer and some select Dr. Seuss to newer ones I had never heard of before. Beketov gave it his all and even gave different characters different voices! Did they all blend into a bad version of a British accent…maybe, but either way it was a true Dad moment. There were some unforgettable moments during the live stream. The ones that stood out for me are listed below: -Luna getting up and walking around in the background and just being cute in general -@samx requesting the Candle Stream from Josh on chat which many of us are eagerly awaiting and hope happens! -Beketov reading Dr Seuss using the Dr Seuss flow and some words sounding like something else all together. More specifically ‘A box of socks’ coming across as well… Let your imagination run wild! -Discovering @Baozi's Mom also has the same couches as Beketov -Finding out the VHL Portal shares an IP address with Beketov so we all are essentially Beketov’s multis -Everyone agrees that Caillou is the worst children’s TV show on the planet and that he is a vicious, unaging monster. Also, Bluey is the best! -Kobe mentioned the only children’s book he ever read was Curious George which was… curious, but we’ll take it! -Baozi missed a book he was looking forward to seeing on the stream due to work. He informed VHL General chat that he was on the bus home and sent a photo of his travels. Nothing like live updates from a member! Proof of bus travel included -Sam’s Mom asking what she was watching with Sam having to explain the stream to her Mom, who then mentioned it was cool As requested by Sam, the last book before we all disconnected was ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ which seemed a fitting way to end the stream. For a brief moment in VHL history several of us sat around our screens and listened to Beketov share stories. A moment that will forever remain etched in VHL history. Much like @Josh's candle stream so many of us wish to see again or for the first time. What future streams like this lay ahead for us in the VHL? It is uncertain but what is known is that this was a fun and extremely entertaining stream that I’d rate a 10/10. Despite having a dental appointment and coming back with a frozen mouth Beketov made the VHL proud with no drool to be seen! Beketov acted out characters, checked the chats to engage with us, let us run amok in the chats and took breaks to give Luna a pat. Thanks Beketov for a unique VHL experience and for your time! Thank you to the chat participants in the stream for being active and adding to the experience. Hopefully we’ll see more streams like these in the future! If you missed the stream I've included the link below for your viewing pleasure: Link to Stream - Click Me! Word Count: 684
  9. The draft came as quickly as it went; however it did exceed my expectations. When I first joined the league I had been told the drafts were a fun and exciting time which was indeed true. Draft time did not disappoint! With the help of my Houston GM and AGM I was able to build my first player as a solid offensive defensemen that played well and caught the eye of a few GMs across the league. The JST tournament was a place where I was able to really get my player's name out there and I'm glad I got the opportunity to be part of the JST. Slater continued to dominate the JST and it's been fun to watch the progress of my first player. The first draft up was the VHL where Slater was pick 7th overall and drafted to Chicago Phoenix! This was a big surprise! I thought Slater would most likely get picked in the 2nd round but I did not anticipate a 1st round pick. Especially being up against some higher TP earners and other players who have bigger names in the league that have been around longer. I wasn't expecting to be picked at 7th overall so it was an exciting moment when it happened. The VHLE draft was a few days later but it did not disappoint either. Slater again was picked 7th overall and drafted to Oslo Storm! I got a couple of lucky number 7 comments! I wasn't sure if Slater would be picked during the 1st round again but lo and behold it happened. All the streams for the VHL, VHLM and VHLE were extremely entertaining to watch. I wish we had a monthly stream where the hosts of these could get together and do an update on the happenings in the league! They all had some great commentary and chemistry together. A big shout out and thank you to the hosts, GMs, AGMs and players who were part of the streams. Thanks for keeping it fun and for the great stream! I'm looking forward to seeing how Slater continues to play in both the VHLE and VHL. Hopefully the momentum can keep going and we'll continue to see great things from Slater! Word Count: 373 Claiming for week ending 4/9

  11. I don't have any crazy history here yet. Still pretty green. Joined in January of 2023. Looking forward to sticking around for awhile!
  12. 1. Oslo had some pretty great picks that I think will be great additions to the team. I may be a bit biased since I'm one of those picks! 2. My fellow draftee Greg Mckeggegger! He played well in the VHLM and I'm hoping we play well together. 3. I stick to water myself but free pop for the team seems like a rewarding perk. #freethepop 4. Checking is an important of the game and having that kind of physicality will help keep the puck on our sticks and the other team running scared. 5. To get the Renaissance Cup back to Oslo! I'm hoping I can bring my success from the JST to the E. 6. Being Canadian I should be used to it. However after playing in Houston I've climatized to their weather and will need to stack on the layers to keep comfortable outdoors. Especially when hitting some outdoor rinks for fun.

  14. Moose send their young across roads to test if it is safe/if there are vehicles. If a calf gets hit by a car the Mother will know it's not safe and turn back. If the calf doesn't get hit the Mother will then try to cross the road.
  15. Nice, my work office is in one of those buildings! I was a mere peon back then. No client facing roles yet so I don't think I would have met Tate. But that is a pretty cool role Tate had! I've since worked my way up so maybe I'll get the pleasure of interacting with him if he's got vendors doing VFX for his films! Also Godzilla was fun to work on, I hope you had fun on it too Tate! I still have my Gojira bracelet they gifted the VFX crew haha.

  17. I work in the VFX industry more specifically in Production Management. I've been in the industry for just over a decade. My job requirements have me doing a bunch of different tasks but I mainly manage the production team and artist supervisors while interacting with clients and vendors on a daily basis. I also make sure our films or shots go smoothly, help build delivery pipelines between my studio and clients, manage teams, support my staff, interface with clients, make sure we hit targets and much more. I've worked on big blockbusters and animated films. The hours can be long and grueling but I enjoy what I do. Here are a few films I've worked on: Man of Steel, Godzilla (2014), Elysium, Spiderman into the Spiderverse
  18. Slater's been drafted 7th overall in both the VHLE and VHL! Thank you to all the GMs who interviewed me. Had a great experience chatting with all of you. Looking forward to playing with Oslo in the VHLE and Chicago in the VHL

  19. Awesome work!
  20. This looks awesome even with the old logo!
  21. My Answers: 1. Too many! I'm from North America and I'd really like to visit Europe. I had plans to visit the UK, Italy and Greece but the covid hit so I had to cancel my tickets. 2. I'm not a baseball fan. I might be if I gave it a chance? I've never been to a baseball game or watched on yet so I may gain interest in it in the future if I gave it a chance. 3. I like the Vancouver wolves logo and color scheme. Something about the black and white is classy. It doesn't get old! ----------------------------------------- Questions for the next person up: 1. What is TPE task do you dislike doing the most? 2. If you could own any exotic animal what animal would it be? 3. What TV show are you into watching right now?
  22. I'm interested!
  23. My Answers to the questions above: 1) Lots of trades happened within the last week, which one (across any of the 3 leagues) stood out the most to you? A. This one! 2) Would you ever want to be a GM in the VHL? (If you're currently one, answer instead how long do you see yourself being a GM for?) A. I don't think I will ever have time to be a GM. I'm not great at number crunching so I will just stick to my player for now! 3) Which country do you think is currently producing the best hockey talent? A. I may be biased but Canada of course! It is where I am from so I have to stay loyal. ------- Questions for the next person up! 1) Looking back at your VHL experience is there anything you'd do differently? 2) Is there one TPE task you enjoy doing more than others? 3) Is there a favorite book or book series you enjoy?
