As for the question in the OP: yes. My girlfriend knows (although I was already declining in activity when we first began) and my mom knows (although I doubt she has a clue what I mean by it - but back when I was GMing I'd tell her I had to be by the computer X time to Y time because I had a draft, so they'd leave food out etc). My dad knew in the same capacity as my mom knows - obviously I can't say he knows in the present tense. I also sit and watch FIFA Career Mode videos right in front of them, so it's not exactly a secret I'm a nerd. My sister had a nerd wedding cake (her husband wanted it Batman themed, they compromised to just do the topper), my girlfriend is super into true crime shows and horror movies, my mom has been to more comic cons than I have, my new nephew has a Star Wars and Harry Potter themed bedroom, so yeah. My sports nerd side might be the LEAST nerd in the family (that said I'm also a Final Fantasy and Skyrim nerd).

Farming as social activity: doesn't relate at all. In any social group I've been in, even D+D would be more acceptable than to actively enjoy farming for social reasons. It's just a complete difference in culture between a guy living near a fairly major city (near enough that if Pittsburgh operated its neighboring areas the same way as any other major city, I'd be considered "in the city" but we have weird districting where practically nothing is considered Pittsburgh) and a guy in a more rural area.

Nooooooo. I'm more active when I can keep a tab of VHL open permanently on my computer, whether I'm actively on it or not. It's kind of one of those things where if you see the tab, you think about it, and then you go on. If I have to close the tab when I'm not actively on the site, I forget about it (which I had to do when we had chat, because people would otherwise chat me constantly - @Bring Back Chat can vouch for how many times he used to chat me and I wouldn't get back to him for hours, which was because I had the tab open but wasn't on it). Ireland vs Northern Ireland would have been fun, if one of them could have gotten seeded. Ireland vs Denmark: I'd honestly favor Ireland. Barely, but I'd favor them. I'd say 55-60% or so. Ireland vs Switzerland: Maybe 25%. Ireland vs Croatia: 15 or so. Ireland vs Italy: lol. Single digits. I'd like that to happen though - so many big teams out, if Italy got out, it would make things very interesting...

Ireland's chances hinge upon them drawing Denmark. If they face any of the other seeded teams (Italy, Croatia, Switzerland) they've already lost. Ireland can definitely take Denmark out though, and a 1/4 chance is more than USA have

Not yet. Sweden are in the playoff round. Italy/Switzerland/Croatia/Denmark are the seeded playoff teams Sweden/Ireland/Northern Ireland/Greece are the non-seeded. Zlatan will have to beat one of the seeded teams, but he's technically not yet out. EDIT: Corrected - Zlatan retired from internationals

On top of that: Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, and Croatia are in the extra playoff round for Europe, for teams that finished second in their groups. They still have to play their way in. Could still be no Buffon, Bonucci, Shaqiri, Xhaka, Modric, Rakitic. Sweden are unseeded too, so there's a 3/4 chance they'll face one of the other three (although with Zlatan retiring from internationals, the closest thing Sweden have to a big name is Lindelof - forgot Zlatan left the team) Ivory Coast need to win away at Morocco to top their group in African qualifying, so Aurier, Bailly, Doumbia...
