Agreed what won us the cup was 3 lines of depth, the chemistry between HBK, and some of the younger guys. Also Murray getting hot. Crosby had quite a small role in it actually!

Flyers/Eagles pretty much have to. It's part of being from Philly. Otherwise, this board is generally one of the better places toward being fine with whoever you want to be a fan of. You know I enjoy most of the people on here (even Flyers/Eagles when they're not talking hockey, actually they're two of my favorites, especially Eagles I mean I did give him my team...) The groups I have the complaints about are big national facebook sports groups - it seems like the hockey contingents of said groups are strictly anti-Pens even when they'll allow the same thing from other teams. It's not you guys, but it's definitely a thing that exists

Maybe you have had the same gripe when other teams win. If so, you're in the minority. Much of the hockey fan community hates when the Pens fans say anything, but are perfectly content to see Bruins/Hawks fans or any other fans say the exact same things. Also: good to know that sitting through the Rico Fata years gets me labeled the same way as the people who didn't know there was a hockey before Crosby...

He's not even a Caps fan... Also, any other fanbase is allowed to support their team vocally and at the expense of other teams, especially those teams who've developed somewhat of a rivalry. Pens fans, on the other hand, are expected to sit there quietly and knit scarves, or everyone will hate us. It makes no sense, but it's the way of the league apparently. Complete double standard, but if we call them out on it, it's just confirming the hate even more...

Hey at least I'm acknowledging we're not always going to be the top team (I would know, I've experienced the times we weren't even in the playoffs)

The link the guy posted on fb was to the blog Russian Machine Never Breaks, which is Caps in general (although with more frequent content toward the Russian players) and the guy was all upset about losing Latta for some reason. Then I thought about what a non-breaking machine could do, and my mind went on a tangent leading to the concept of a machine that designs and produces cups, as opposed to a machine that does anything else, which would be the Caps. Decided even though it didn't have a direct tie to a thing here (which honestly, if I'm posting something, it's not always going to have a context) that I would take the opportunity to jab at the Caps while the Pens were the champs. That's not always going to be the case, so I'll take the opportunity while I can.

I'm the exact opposite, I don't mind college basketball, but the lack of defense in the NBA in many situations (there are some who do, but it's not as prevalent as it should be) drives me away from it. I can't watch a sport where the score is 100-95. I need a point to matter.

Russian Machine might never break, but it's not a machine designed to build cups. Not unless the President's Trophy somehow gains importance anyway

Best team doesn't mean most offensively minded team. A game can be 0-1 while also being well played.

Germany isn't going to win or anything, but they're not bad. It's unfortunate that they're against Italy next, who have looked one of the best teams so far.

I've done 3 marathons. Theoretically, a 50k is only 5 more miles, so I don't know why I seem to be getting stuck (two different attempts at 50k, both DNF, although they were also both in the hottest part of the year). Best of luck to you when you do try a marathon, as well as if you decide to try the 100k. Also, I already have 30 years.

Nicely done! A half is a good length of race. I really need to do another half, my last one that wasn't part of a longer race was 2 years ago so I'm sitting on a PR the next time I do one. I don't know why I didn't know about this endomondo, I'll have to get one. In other news: my 50k was on Saturday, but I DNFed. So did half the field though, it was ridiculously hot and humid.
