1. Totally! I don't see us being caught for that spot so we don't have to worry about making it. That said, it would always be nice to move up and keep winning, even if our spot is secure. 2. We gotta get pucks in deep, get a good forecheck going, and just stick with our gameplan, you know? Um, yeah just play simple, play hard. 3. Well, we've been getting pucks in deep, establishing our forecheck, and sticking with our gameplan, you know? So uh, yeah, we've been playing simple and hard and we're being rewarded for it. 4. I believe Skor McFleury can do it! He's on my fantasy team, so he'd better! But seriously, he's been having an amazing season and with the pace he's kept up, I don't see it being impossible, though definitely not a slam dunk-- because this is hockey. 5. My personal goal for my player is to be more consistent. I think the season started well, but it was a bit slow going up until recently. I'd just like to see a bit more consistent play from my player to be more reliable for the team. 6. My bed. It always takes me a couple nights to adjust to a new bed if I'm travelling, which means I don't sleep as well and it can affect everything.

Those were the best! I had more articles than I could claim, but it was just fun to do That locker room was full of things to write about. We all write or talk about our own player at some point-- it's only natural-- but I do love seeing articles where a person features other players too, especially if it's more than just stats. For creative stuff, @dogwoodmaple has some great pieces that are really fun and gave me a few good ideas to play with last season.

This was amazing! You did a great job with presentation, adding in the music at the beginning and end was awesome! Congrats on episode 1, I’m so glad you were able to get this done and looking forward to the next one already!

Everyone's experience is valid and their perspectives can be very helpful-- even those who are less polite about voicing their concerns, because it's often something they're experiencing that is causing them to react. I think it's important to take that seriously-- and not just in sim leagues, but life in general lol. You're absolutely right that having new eyes on a situation is helpful, especially of those people that are experiencing the league as a player and living out the highs and lows. Those are probably the perspectives that matter the most since it's who the league is for! So thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts, it's definitely worthwhile to read!

With the way the rules are set up right now, waiver players shouldn’t be able to join teams with more than 6 forwards and 4 defenders— at least that’s what I’ve understood from the league commissioners the last time this came up in the chat. So basically, anyone who joins in the near future will be joining a team that has openings on their top 2 lines, which should help teams that need players and prevent teams that have 2 full lines from adding unnecessary depth. I actually think the current waiver setup is pretty good, though maybe some more transparency about how the rules work behind the scenes might help alleviate confusion. In the past, GMs used to have to compete to actively pitch waivers with no worry about tampering. But from everything I’ve heard, that system was very unsustainable because it placed unrealistic expectations on GMs to be available and ready to out-pitch competitors at all hours of the day or risk falling behind. I don’t think there’s much appetite to bring that back. I will say, in my opinion, the main reason for the current disparity in the league has less to do with waivers and more to do with a general lack of players and the decisions of some teams to sell off their players for future picks. Selling is a valid strategy which should help them in the future, but it’s definitely a rough season for those teams right now.

NHL Mock Draft by members of the VHLM HFX 21st

You're spot on! The only thing I'd say is keep Vlasic for the last 2 seasons of his contract as I think they won't be competing for the cup in those years anyway, that way they don't need to give away any assets to get rid of him! Plus, he could just retire next season and save everyone the trouble. But the Sharks definitely need to restock their defense. There's Mukhamudullin and maybe Thrun and Havelid, but none of them are true top 2s imo. If they could somehow trade up and grab Buium, I'd be thrilled! But I'm expecting nothing so I won't be disappointed when they go off the board with some no-name at 14 -

Yeah the idea of Demidov/Bedard is scary and Bedard definitely needs a new best friend like Kane/Toews, Crosby/Malkin, etc… I don’t disagree that they should and probably will pick him at 2 -
