    Eugene Ryanheart
    Position: LW
    Height: 6'1
    Weight: 188lb
    Age: 18

    Pros
Shooting: Eugene is a sniper and a great goalscorer. He has been training for many years taking shots every day after school since he was 11 and it has paid off. Although some may say Eugene could be a play maker, his shot is just to good to not have him be labeled as the goal scorer. Eugene scored 19 goals with the aces and that was just in his first season in the VHLM. If Eugene can get surrounded by play makers and teammates that support him he could really be the next scoring superstar for years to come!

Vision: One of Eugene's strong ability's is how good he is at seeing opening on the ice and how his hockey IQ is through the roof. He is really good at finding those open holes and breaking down the ice which often leads to a score from Eugene or a pass for the assist. After finishing with 47 points in his rookie season Eugene looks to be terrifying in future years just from his ability to see the ice like no one else.

Puck skills/Deking: The way he is able to break through opponents with what looks like simple moves is remarkable. Eugene is great at faking out his opponents and creating the scoring opportunity off of just a couple simple moves. A move that scares opponents the most from Eugene is his signature move the between the legs deke. He uses this move to open up space in the other teams end and can easily fool the opposing goalie because of how quick he moves whilst putting it between his legs.

    Cons
Defensive Coverage: A pretty big problem most scouts have found with his game over his season the Vegas is that he has a problem with his defensive aspect of his game and often struggles to back check and is a big problem he is trying to fix. He has gotten a lot better over the off-season and could be seen as a possible two way forward next season just because his defence is a lot better. However it doesn't look good for scouts because Eugene finished with a -17 plus minus and this being a problem could really bring his draft ranking down a lot.

Physicality: After winning an award for best sportsmanship in his first season in the showcase a lot of people see him as soft and a weak player. If Eugene doesn't work on his physical aspect of hockey soon he could be in danger when going into those higher leagues and facing bigger players because if he's not physical he could get hurt pretty easily and could look as a safety hazard for scouts to come.

Skating: Even though his skating isn't that bad it isn't really a strong suit either. Eugene can sometimes get bursts of speed but mainly relies on his shooting and puck skills to do the work and his speed is just a meh thing to him. If Eugene can get his speed up a lot he could really be an offensive weapon for whichever team gets him. I don't think his speed is a main focus stat right now but will most likely a stat he could work on in the future.

Final words: If Eugene is able to work on his defense and physicality some more whilst keeping his strengths an amazing ability he could be a great asset for whichever team take the chance on him.

MALMO PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT - S94 DRAFTEES

After a disappointing ending to their season, the Malmo Nighthawks have moved on to the offseason in hopes to improve their team so that they can finally take the next step they have been looking for.  However, you also need to look towards your future as the current core is starting to approach the dreaded depreciation stage of their careers, and the Nighthawks have to make every pick count without 1st Round Picks over the next few drafts.  The Nighthawks ultimately used four picks in the recent Season 94 Dispersal Draft (19, 33, 41 and 44) with three of those players already signing contracts with their new franchise.  This prospect spotlight will shed some proverbial light on these players, as they approach their first off-season with a VHL team.

Eugene Ryanheart was selected with the 19th pick by Malmo and is a big bodied winger that trends as a strong offensive performer.  His skating is decent and he is a pretty equally proficient shooter and playmaker.  He has some work to do defensively and he has to still grow a bit into his frame, but I am expecting big things from the Canadian after he recorded 19 goals and 47 points in his first VHLM season with the Las Vegas Aces.  I assume he will find his way back to Las Vegas, but the VHLE should not be far away and I definitely think he may end up a very solid value steal for the Nighthawks, as they seek some prospects that can grow into being excellent offensive contributors.

Gabriel Finley was the team’s 33th pick and despite only playing 34 games for Miami last season, the mid-season pickup had a really solid campaign for them.  With 7 goals and 20 points to go along with 52 hits, Finley paced for 42 points and 110 hits over the course of the season.  The Canadian teenager is a great puckhandler and has shown both excellent vision and a solid shot, and projects as a potential second line winger in the future for Malmo if his development continues in the right direction.  Time will see if he has a higher ceiling, but this tall but lanky winger should be a prospect to keep an eye out for as he will enter the Season 94 VHLM Dispersal Draft this off-season.

Trevon Rider was selected with the 41st pick by Malmo, and while he has yet to officially sign a contract, the Nighthawks are hoping the Canadian winger (notice a trend?) will sign on relatively soon.  He was a teammate of Ryanheart’s this past season, tallying a pretty impressive 21 goals and 48 points over the 72 game season.  He is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades -player, but the ultimate concern is whether or not his development can stay on track in order for him to be more than a VHLM/VHLE talent.  Time will tell, but if he puts his mind to it, Rider could be seen suiting up in Malmo’s colours in the future.

Finally, Dakota Nachbaur was a 44th overall pick who split the season with both Mexico City and Saskatoon.  He is a decent skater and a bit of a jack-of-all-trades defender that has a bit of growing to do both physically and talent wise.  He did have a decent pre-VHLM draft campaign that saw the Canadian figure in on 26 goals and add 121 hits and 80 blocked shots.  While there is a lot of developing to do, and Nachbaur is already 27 years old, it isn’t completely unheard of to see an older talent find his way through the VHLM and make the long ride.  I like what I see with Nachbaur and ultimately I look forward to seeing where he lands in the VHLM Dispersal Draft.

    2. I think the captains were picked professionally and have no concern towards them.

    3. A sneaky player doing pretty well is Dorji Kahn, I think they could definitely finish pretty high with a couple of good games.

    4. So far I have enjoyed playing for this team and hope we can make it far.

    5. Even though I would like it to be the brigade I think if I were to estimate it I would say the warriors, there team Is stacked and filled with a bunch of studs who can really go far.

CIA’s Early, Probably Wrong S94 Mock Draft

After actually being in the draft last season, you thought I would take a year off? Never! That’s for weaklings, wimps, and people that already have TPE banked in other ways (which to be fair, may very well be me next season). I’m here to tell you exactly what the draft will be.

… or I would, at least, had the draft lottery happened by now like I thought it would. But alas, the draft lottery may not happen until next week, and I need TPE this week. So I’m going to assume here that the VHL will do the same thing as the inferior NHL and have no teams move in its lottery at all. The odds of this happening are extremely slim, so by Simon T logic, it’s a near certainty.

How will this year’s draft shape up? It’s an interesting one, to be certain. There are more recreates than last season, but also fewer (but not none!) first generation players set to make a splash. There are also a few position differences, with more teams in need of defensemen in this draft, but also more blue liners available for selection in kind. I also wouldn’t be shocked by more trades than normal, with a rash of S85 players retiring (especially goalies) meaning we could see some rebuilds start in earnest with some real tear downs.

With all of that said, let’s get into some picks! I don’t really know who is friends with who or any of that jazz, so my predictions tend to be based solely on earning power and team need. All TPE levels are based on when I’m writing this on Thursday, May 9. And as always, if you’re not picked where you think you deserve, it’s because I dislike you personally and you should absolutely take offense.

     1. Los Angeles Stars: LW Maverick Goncalves - 385 TPE, Cologne Express, @leandrofg

What do you get for the team that needs everything? A defenseman like one of the Carson duo would certainly make sense, given the overall dearth of blue liners in the league and the fact that both currently on the Stars will retire this offseason. A goalie might also make sense, since Soju is the only option in the top 20 in this class by TPE and it would guarantee they fill a need. But I’ll say they go best player available with Goncalves. Already playing up a level in the VHLE, Goncalves would provide an offensive star to build around, and potentially a top-level player in terms of talent and growth for seasons to come. A lot of good options here, but nothing wrong with going with the safe one.

     2. HC Davos Dynamo: D Jillian Woods - 379 TPE, Ottawa Lynx, @jacobcarson877

The Dynamo began their rebuild in earnest last offseason, taking forwards Forum Content and Antonia Bucatini as well as goalie Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen in the first round. What hole does that leave on the ice? Why, a talented young defensive star of course! Sticking neck and neck with Goncalves in terms of TPE, Woods will be a candidate for the top pick in the draft depending on the team, including the Stars or the Dynamo themselves if the lottery falls that way. But even if Woods falls to number two, I wouldn’t imagine that she would fall much further due to her growth potential and the fact that just about every team could use another strong young player on defense.

     3. Riga Reign: D Felicia Hardy - 343 TPE, Saskatoon Wild, @JCarson

The Reign are in a very interesting position. First of all, they haven’t yet announced their first new general manager in more than 40 seasons, a position that would seemingly be important entering a draft. Second, a lot of their players are in the prime of their careers, but as evidenced by the fact they’re picking third in the draft, those prime players may not be the answer for the team. Third, while many teams are looking to upgrade at goalie and defense, goalie Red Panda may be the star of the team, and Riga took Lucy Leitner on defense with the third pick last season. Still, when all else fails, I don’t think best player available is a bad option. Hardy would pair with Leitner on what would become in the league’s strongest defensive pairing in a few season’s time, and Hardy provides a consistent player for a Reign team that may enter a rebuild if the new GM so wishes. Plus, as we’re about to explore, there are better landing spots for a few of the forwards available.

     4. Vancouver Wolves: C Pierre Marc Bouchard - 332 TPE, Halifax 21st, @Gaikoku-hito

Honestly, I think this pick might be more of a lock than either the first or second pick. Bouchard’s agency lives and breathes Wolves hockey, Bouchard is the best player available and fourth overall on the practice hours board, and they are a consistent earner and talented player. From the Wolves standpoint, the team also has a whole host of wings from the past couple of drafts, but the only center on the roster is S89 player Mikko Borisyuk. This combination simply makes too much sense, and I’d be fairly surprised if they go a different direction.

     5. Vancouver Wolves (from Calgary): G Soju - 284 TPE, Philadelphia Reapers, @Frank

Now this is where I’m going to start to get a bit spicy. The obvious pick here would be another forward, particularly with Left Alone set to retire after next season. A defenseman could also make sense, given that Liv Slater will be starting to show their age soon. And goalie Dalkr Vidarsson is on pace to be a future star. But with that said… if the Wolves could grab both their GM and AGM during this draft, could they avoid pulling the trigger? And especially given a potentially frothy trade market for goalies, where Vidarsson would fetch a major haul from a team like London or even D.C. looking to extend their window? I’ll go off the board here and say the Wolves steal a goalie from a number of other potential suitors.

     6. Helsinki Titans: LW Pombo - 317 TPE, Las Vegas Aces, @samx

Make it yet another team taking a GM player with their first round pick. Pombo is best player available at this point though, and I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if they go as high as #3 to Riga, depending on the new GM. In this breakdown though, Pombo steps in as the Titans prepare to potentially reload more than rebuild, given the young talent on their team like Adi Dassler and YaBoi Oven. Especially with some rebuilds coming in the European Conference, if the Titans are able to upgrade at goalie they could certainly come back to be a playoff team once again, even after last year’s trades.

      7. Chicago Phoenix: D Bollos de Trueno - 301 TPE, Saskatoon Wild, @Thunder

After jumping up to a wild card bid this season, the Phoenix are a team that are looking to win sooner rather than later. Ryan Artyomov may be one of the league’s best goalies next season following retirements and regression, Joshua Schwarzer is prepped to take the leap to be a star, and I wouldn’t sleep on last year’s fifth overall pick UghSike as a Rookie of the Year candidate next year. But even after drafting Lionel Collberg and Karol Lamb in the first round in recent years, there is still a place for a potential star defensive player to round out the roster. While de Trueno wouldn’t make an impact on next year’s team, they would arrive like a thunderbolt the following season in front of Artyomov on what should still be a team looking to contend for the next couple seasons.

     8. Moscow Menace (from Warsaw): D Lazlo Holmes - 286 TPE, Saskatoon Wild, @Gustav

When the Menace faced off against the Predators in the European Wild Card round, it turns out they would have gotten the eighth pick either way - they have both firsts. And with Warsaw’s selection coming first, it makes sense to me to take the best defensive player on the board in Holmes. From a talented and consistent agency, Holmes provides additional some protection against upcoming regression for Kronchy Kardashian and Nils Andersson, as well as potential upcoming free agency from Leif Reingaard, alongside last year’s first round pick Benjamin Abenduct. Plus, Moscow has so much young talent at forward that a player like The Phantom of the VHL or Maple Dogwood might struggle to find playing time on this roster without some major trades occurring.

      9. New York Americans: C The Phantom of the VHL - 312 TPE, Ottawa Lynx, @Hogan

The New York Americans are another team ready to win now, and particularly in the forward core it’s getting to be now or never. Every single forward from this past season’s team was S88 or older, and two of those players (Alfred Champagne and Vinny Lecavalier) are set to retire. And while the Americans do have two forwards in Wayne Gretzky and Chris Reynolds Jr. set to provide reinforcement from the VHLE, there’s room for even more youth in the forward corps. The Phantom dropped a bit down the board due to team need, but the Americans would be a great landing spot to perhaps play immediately and find a role on a winning team.

      10. Prague Phantoms: D Erik Thorvaldsson - 273 TPE, Mississauga Hounds, @Tetricide

It’s a draft full of GM players going to their teams! While Thorvaldsson isn’t quite the best player available here by practice hours (though very close), I’d be rather surprised if Prague passes on Thorvaldsson if they’re available. In this space last season, I said it’d be one more go until a rebuild for Prague, and now we’re here. Being able to snag a GM player provides a bit of stability for both a rebuilding team and a new front office, and a defensive star provides a bit of security to last year’s first round pick, goalie Ondrej Vencko, as well. A slam dunk selection if available.

     11. Toronto Legion: RW Maple Dogwood - 275 TPE, Halifax 21st, @dogwoodmaple

For years since being drafted first and third in the S87 Draft, Mac Atlas and Jimi Jaks have been the stars of Toronto’s dreams. But all dreams must end sometime, and indeed, both Atlas and Jaks enter this offseason facing some rough depreciation and only two seasons left in the league. The Legion focused last draft on defense with a great selection in Gul Dukat, but this time, an infusion of youth into the forward corps is well needed. Dogwood is not only best player available, but they also some real top-end talent upside that is rare to find with the 11th overall pick.

    12. Los Angeles Stars (from Malmo): D Andrew Skilton - 248 TPE, Halifax 21st, @ace_five_

One of these picks, some team is going to take a chance on a first generation player. I think it happens here. Skilton has been extremely impressive since coming into the league last offseason, chasing down multiple notable recreated players on the practice hours charts with ease. They developed well under the watchful eye of Halifax, and I wouldn’t be shocked if Skilton ends up shooting into the top 10 when all is said and done. Here at the 12th pick, Skilton would be the stone that L.A. would rebuild their defense around and pair with the first overall pick Goncalves to really get the Stars rebuild going in earnest.

     13. Helsinki Titans (from D.C.): LW Wally Lose - 256 TPE, Ottawa Lynx, @youloser1337

The Titans would normally be another team that I’d expect to look at a first generation player. However, with last year’s first round pick Tyler Lawson having not shown up to practice for a few weeks, I’m wondering if they go with a more high-ceiling recreate, particularly at forward to pair with Pombo in the future. That almost perfectly describes Lose, whose agency has had plenty of success with past players in the VHL. While Lose’s practice hours do trail behind some peers that also entered the VHLM as the S92 Trade Deadline, as a consistent force, Lose would be sure to have a spot in Helsinki for seasons to come.

     14. Moscow Menace: RW Matteo Stefano - 208 TPE, Mississauga Hounds, @mmrs617

With two first round picks, the Menace can afford to take a few big swings. This is one that I think would connect. Despite only joining Mississauga about halfway through the VHLM season, the first generation player Stefano has already secured his promotion to the VHLE next season through maximum practice, an impressive record for a newcomer. As a passing-focused player, Stefano would also provide a bit of playmaking in a Menace forward corps that has a lot of scoring-focused players. Moscow is perhaps one of the best homes to develop new players, and the two would be a great match here. Similar to Skilton, don’t be shocked if a team falls in love with Stefano in the back half of the top ten.

     15. Riga Reign (from Seattle): C Johnny Tsunami - 234 TPE, Houston Bulls, @Vice

After so many Houston Bulls taken in the first round of last year’s draft, it’s a bit surprising to see the first one fall all the way to pick 15 in this mock. But the Reign wouldn’t mind, picking up a talented forward in Tsunami. Although a recreate, Tsunami didn’t actually join the Bulls until partway into the season, resulting in just 54 games played. During that time, however, Tsunami has been very consistent in showing up to practice and provides a lot of top-end upside to a Riga team in need of exactly that. No matter who the new GM is, they should be able to find a place for this type of center.

      16. London United: LW Eugene Ryanheart - 195 TPE, Las Vegas Aces, @jesse115

What I said about Prague last season applies to London this season - it’s probably one more year, then it’s rebuild time. And that rebuild may come even sooner if London doesn’t find a replacement for future Hall of Famer Jesse Teno in goal. That means London can really go any direction with this pick, because it’s expected that the player will be a part of the next generation of London rather than this one. So, why not go for a quick riser? After going just 50th in last season’s VHLM Draft due to some early welfare earning, Ryanheart has consistently put in the practice work in recent weeks, including even a Biography from his agency just this very week. That has gotten GMs’ attention in the top part of second round, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he even sneaks into the first with another week or two of strong practice before the draft.

If you weren’t mentioned here, remember: There’s still a lot to shake out! Make sure to chat with GMs as they reach out, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some second or third round picks in this draft become stars. Best of luck to all draftees, and happy drafting!

    Eugene Ryanheart
    #52 Winger
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 200lb

Born in Manitoba Canada, 2006 lived a very heart driven kid with one dream in mind, to play hockey. Ever since Eugene could remember he loved hockey, he was drawn to it since he was just able to walk. Eugene was born into a wealthy family but didn't give him much help at all because his family Wasn’t supportive of his dream and thought hockey was just a waste of time but that never stopped Eugene from playing the sport he loved most. Growing up in his early years Eugene played house league from 6 years old all the way up to 11 but when he turned 12 he realized he wanted more. Lucky for him he got his chance when he found a new team he wanted to play for, the Manitoba moose. This was only a single A team, but that didn't bring down Eugene because all he was focused on was getting better. The day of the tryouts Eugene was feeling the most nervous he has ever felt but that didn't stop him from shocking the coaches with his gem like talent. Eugene made the final roster as a first line LW and shortly after they had their first couple practices. Eugene finished his first season of rep hockey with 89 points in 51 games and ended up ranking 1st out of everyone in his league. This was good enough to get higher level coaches to recognize him and he even got asked by the Manitoba triple AAA coach to sign up for the tryout. Eugene ended up making the roster as a 2nd line LW after shocking the coaches for how good he was for only playing single A for one year. In Eugene's second season playing rep hockey he put up 54 points in 53 games which ended up getting him a lot more notice around the league. After making the team once again Eugene was excited as ever and to top all of that off he made the first line just before the season started. This was Eugene's chance to shine, to finally prove the doubters wrong, if Eugene does good this season he could have a real shot at making it pro. With everything on the line Eugene steps it up and starts training over the off season, he ends up getting so good that he gets chosen by the coaches to be the captain of the Manitoba moose in the upcoming season. Shortly after the coaches call him into their office and explain to him “A good ship always relies on the captain to lead them to their destination”. This quote gave Eugene the confidence to become the leader he was always meant to be and he said to the coach just before the season that  he was going to lead them to the championship. Eugene ended up leading his team to finish 1st place in standings going 43-7-3 and Eugene finished with 84 points in 53 games finishing top 3 for points in the league. This was good enough to win Eugene the league MVP and this caught the attention of many CHL scouts around the area and this drew a lot of attention to Eugene which left people wondering who this kid is and will he be a star? Eugene ended up having a lot of looks at him and a lot of teams found him good, especially the Saskatoon Blades. Eugene ended up being taken with the 5th overall pick by the Saskatoon Blades and he now had to take a huge leap of faith and step up his game. This didn't scare Eugene, he was ready and he felt that he could take on anything which he did. After getting towards the end of the season he was finishing the season with a record finish sitting at 70 points in 60 games as a first year however his amazing run would end with tragedy as in the second last game of the regular season Eugene took an injury that would halt his career in a pretty bad way. Eugene ended up suffering an injury that put him out for the playoffs of that season and also the whole next season. This meant that Eugene was gonna have to push if he wanted to reach that next level because that injury really brought his run down and some had him so low they think he might not be drafted. For Eugene's 3rd season he put up a boat load of numbers going for 110 points in 54 games and this did rank him higher some still speculated if he was 100% healthy or if this was a recurring problem for the future. With a lot of hope in Eugene he was nervous as ever knowing that this could be the deciding factor for his career and his future. After sitting through 5 rounds, just before the round ended the Las Vegas Aces were on the clock and they had one player in mind Eugene Ryanheart. From that day forward Eugene knew he had to start working and he must stay focused and prove everyone wrong about him and that he isn't just some injury prone player and that he really is good. Currently Eugene has just finished his first season with Las Vegas and finished with some pretty good numbers for a rookie finishing with 47 points in 72 games.

These jerseys are fire! I Love the use of the neon green colors it makes the jersey stand out and kinda look like it could glow in the dark. I also find the font colors easy to read and they pop out more which is good for the eyes. something I would suggest is maybe trying to make the arm sleeves look more like the font and have it pop out more it would make it blend and look more natural. overall I love these jerseys and if these were jerseys you could buy in real life I for sure would!

Wow! this graphic just amazed me, I love the comic book type of texture used in this piece. I also love the use of flames it relates to the logo of the team and just give it a nice warm feel to it. I like the player picture you used in the graphic its just perfect how he's looking up at the logo and the flame it almost makes it look like this was a photo shoot and you made him pose like that. overall this piece amazed me and inspires me to try and make mine as good as these lol.
    I give it a 10/10
