ClapbombsRus 42
Another year has come and gone for the Calgary Wranglers, and what a season it's been! The team made an excellent push this year making it into the playoffs, after a hard fought battle against the season champs of season 77, we made our stand in game 7. Unfortunately to everyone's dismay a series that we had fought our way through every single game came to an end. As we wrap up the season it's time again for our Calgary Wranglers Awards. I would like to thank everyone for their dedication to the organization, and the continued support from each of you. Without further ado lets get started. The Most Valuable Wrangler This award is handed out to the player who is deemed to be valuable to his team and is voted on by the team. I would like to congratulate Nathan Perry on his dedication to the team and his ability to inspire confidence in those around him. Proving he can be a great leader on this team. @tinafrombobsburgers The Sheriffs Badge The Sheriffs Badge is handed out to the player who demonstrates a solid leadership role for their team. This player has proven himself over and over again to be a proven leader in all areas of his game. This year I would like to congratulate Steve Eso on being awarded the Season 78 Sheriffs Badge. @Eso The Top Shelf Award The Top Shelf Award is awarded to the Wrangler with the most goals at the end of the regular season. This year we had an absolute battle on our hands as both Nathan Perry and Luke Thornton absolutely lit up every goalie in their path. The Award goes to Luke Thornton who edged out Perry by 1 goal! Congratulations to both of you, but especially to you Luke Thornton for taking this trophy home! @Jtv123 The Rybak Trophy The Rybak is awarded to the player with the most points in the season, this Award was also a very close battle between 2 players. No surprises here as Luke Thornton, and Nathan Perry were on fire this season making it a very narrow Victory as Luke Thornton edged out Perry once again. Congratulations Luke Thornton on winning the Rybak Trophy this season! @Jtv123 The Last Line This Award is awarded to the top defensemen on the team. This year fighting to keep the goalies covered was Cowboy Prout who has been awarded this year. Prout led Defensemen on the Wranglers in points and finished top 3 in voting for the Jake Wylde trophy for the top Defensive Defensemen in the league! Prout is a very active member of the Wranglers locker room game in and game out. @Prout The Jubis Memorial Trophy The Jubis Memorial Trophy is given to the player that is felt to have the most chance at league success, this doesn't only include how their player is going to do within the league, but also includes if they take on management roles with teams, are looking to earn more and are helping others when they can. The player who was seen as most fit for this award was none other than Nathan Perry. Nathan Perry has won this award the year previous as well. He is a highly active player in any locker room he is in, he was also the AGM for Miami Marauders up until recently. I am looking forward to seeing just where Nathan is going to end up over the next few seasons. Definitely a player to watch! Congratulations Nathan! @tinafrombobsburgers The Young Buck Award The Young Buck Award is given to the player who is a prospect for the Wranglers who shows great promise for the game. This year the young buck to watch out for is Alex Johnston, Alex Johnston had a monster year in the minors. He played 52 games for Yukon his first year with 50 points in that first start. And then followed up his next year with 118 points in 72 games! This player has proven to be very active in the VHL and shows a tone of promise. He is involved in many facets of the VHL including VSN, he was a GM in the World Cup and is the AGM of the Philadelphia Reapers! We are excited to have such talent on the team! @Alex_J32 Every year as players are earning their TPE there are a few that stand out as elite at what they do I'm going to list the players who have excelled at Graphics, Media Spots and Podcasts. Top Graphic This year Tallinder has been selected for top Graphic. Tallinder got back into graphics this year and really demonstrated an exceptional amount of progress bringing a new level to the work he has done over the past while. The graphic I chose to showcase Tallinder's ability really demonstrates just an exceptional level of detail as he captured the light contrast as it moved from light to dark across the scene. Really great work Tallinder. @Patrik Tallinder Top Media Spot Top Media Spot this year goes to Eagles. Eagles has definitely been the most consistent doing Media Spots, and has a way of making the story capture the current mood of the season. His writing is engaging including perspectives of different players as well as being very thorough in his grammar. Eagles had a really good season this year coming just shy of his point record last season 51 points on the season but boasting an amazing plus/minus increase this season. Congratulations Eagles! @Greg_Di Top Podcast Top Podcast goes to Phil the Rock Johnson, with Phil hosting the Rock Bottom Podcast. Phil has been a member of the league for many years now and has a long history of doing podcasts. He still does them to this day for his weekly tasks. He is a great locker room guy who has proven to be a team first player. Phil had a decent season with 43 points in 72 games which is his best season in the VHL currently! Congratulations Phil, keep up the good work! @Phil WC=1004 Greg_Di, Alex, Eso and 3 others 3 1 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/106128-calgary-wranglers-season-78-awards/ Share on other sites

Ledge 1,131
Review: I really like the idea of doing team awards, as it recognizes members of your own team and helps get everyone involved and hyped. The names of the awards are also very creative, and the descriptions are apt. Not much I have to critique it, but I guess make it more pleasing to the eye. 8/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/106128-calgary-wranglers-season-78-awards/#findComment-864160 Share on other sites
