Marcel 'the Hammer' Janser had another two games played, while Daniel's situation is unchanged. It appears that the VHLE will have a tight schedule if it wants to finish the league before the WJC/WCoH comes around.

The 21st has had two matches.

The first one was against the Mississauga Hounds and was lost 4-3. The Ontario team went on the scoreboard first, scored by Zubov @Russianmenice, but only 6 minutes after, Warrior (Crumb, Volchenkov) equalized for the 21st. However, before the first intermission the Hounds scored again, this time in the person of Ivanovitch @Mikayev Ivanovitch for a 2-1 lead. In the second period the Mississauga topscorer Lamb @dlamb found the back of the net for a 3-1 lead with which the Hounds went into the third period. After 2:52 minutes into the final period, Marcel @Morcar80 made one of his trademark pool passes, via the boards behind the Hounds' goal to McMuffin @Ente2997 on the right wing, who redirected the puck to AL @bigAL. The Hungarian let loose a slapper from the blue line for a power play goal. Ten minutes later the Hounds reinstated the two goal lead with Yurov's @Geeks 2nd goal of the still young season. Von Strangle @Timmy Turner (Crumb, Logue) was able to narrow the gap, but with only one and a half minute left, this was too little, too late and the Ontario team was victorious. Arpa @16z(.889) was slightly better than McGleis @lukechezzwoo (.882). The three stars were Zubov (1g/1a), Von Strangle (1g/0a) and Crumb (0g/2a). The 21st's power play was good (2/6) and their penalty kill flawless (2/2).

Marcel logged 0g, 1a, -1 and 25:03 TOI (second of the team).

The second encounter was against the Marlins and this was a clear 5-1 defeat. The only score for Halifax was scored by Von Strangle (Ross) after the San Diego team was alread 4-0 in the lead. The three stars were Bedard @Hawk E (2g/2a), DeGroot @rory (2g/2a) and Utonium @fishy(19 saves). The latter showed an almost perfect performance with a whopping .950 saving rate versus McGleis rather mediocre .844. The Halifax' special team were lousy with 5/8 in penalty kill and 0/4 in power play.

Marcel was recorded with 0g, 0a, +0 and 2 PIM (Holding, unfortunately the penalty lead to a goal against)

The younger Janser is now at 6gp, 0g, 6a, 6pts, -5, 4 PIM, 7 hits, 10sb and is the 21st's topscorer (shared with fellow Reaper AL)

Daniel has still yet to play a league game, the stats previously published by this paper were test matches and not as erroneously stated league matches. We apologize to our readers for this mistake and the ensuing confusion.

Stay tuned for further updates on our stalwart hockey players.
