Berger has it and moves down low for a backhand shot. Blocked by Chersenko! Puck bounces to Schultz who lets go a slapshot! Pushed into the corner by CAL G off his blocker. Chouinard lets go a snapper wide of the net. The Old Boys are really cranking up the pressure here. Saeijs picks it up and let's go a wrister from the hashmarks. It's deflected by Gerrard! Old Boys Club (S18) , Phil Gerrard 1 (Tarik Saeijs, Mathias Chouinard) at 1:35 Gerrard scores! An action packed first couple minutes here and the Old Boys have a 2-1 lead very early in the second. Old Boys win the ensuing draw, but can't do anything with it. New Kids move up with the puck. Chershenko has it and looks on net. Lets go a wrister but it sails wide of the net. Jarvis Baldwin is in the corner with it but Phil Gerrard knocks him off of the puck. Old Boys try to clear it but Clark Marcellin gets along the sideboards to keep it in and corrals it. He passes to Snijider who passes to Rafter. Rafter fakes, moves around the defender and winds up again! He unleashes the beast! The New Kids (Post-S18) , Phil Rafter 1 (Ansgar Snijider, Clark Marcellin) at 2:34 Rafter beats Kanou like a rented mule and the score is tied at 2-2 in the second! The New Kids muster up 1 shot with the man up, a weak backhand by Chershenko that's handled easily by Kanou. Walcott steps back on and we're at even strength. The Old Boys are pressing hard again. Fowler lets go a snap shot that gets deflected by Strauss but CAL G is there to knock it away. Bencharski gets the rebound and tries to put one in short side but CAL G gets across to knock it away again! Fowler picks up the rebound in the slot with an empty cage! Old Boys Club (S18) , Cam Fowler 1 (James Bencharski, Markus Strauss) at 7:05 Fowler scores! Noone can fault CAL G there as he had to face 3 shots in the span of seconds and made 2 spectacular saves, but the Old Boys are up 3-2 with a little more then half the game left to play. Rybak picks it up and shoots! Turned aside again! Rybak shoots again! Wide! Kanou has to stand on his head now, and is up to the task. Baldwin puts one right in the crest of Kanou and he'll cover up to give his team a breather. Things are getting more physical as Chershenko gets hit by Walcott, then Chouinard gets hit by Snijider after picking up the puck. Koradek gets some revenge for his teammate as he levels Walcott for his earlier hit on Chershenko. All this spills over when Schultz and Reikkinen drop the gloves at 11:15 in the second. They each get some good hits in but are eventually broken up by the linesmen, and we'll call it a draw. That fight sparks the Old Boys and they go into the New Kids zone with a fire in their eyes. Brekkar shoots but misses wide. Berger picks it up and throws a wrister on net! Old Boys Club (S18) , Lars Berger 1 (Anton Brekker, Jukka Hakkinen) at 11:55 Berger beat CAL G like a rented mule and the Old Boys are up 4-2 with 8 minutes left in the second to play! The game has really opened up here with no hitting but a ton of passing and shots. At the 15:46 marker of the second Japinder Singh gets called for tripping as he hauls down a New Kid after getting caught of of position. The New Kids need to make good here on the PP to get back into this game. Daniel Braxton slaps a low one on Kanou and it bounces right to Koradek who lets go the snap one-timer! The New Kids (Post-S18) , Pavel Koradek 1 (Daniel Braxton, Leeroy Jenkins) at 16:15 (PP) That PP marker by Korardek brings the New Kids back to within 1 and keeps them alive in this game as the third period is looming now. Braxton lets go another slapper but Kanou gets his trapper in the way and it ends up to the side of the net. Sullivan hones in on the puck and tries to put a backhander past the recovering Kanou but he misses the net. Rybak gets it and tries to snap it in with Kanou out of position! He misses nearside, but the puck bounces right back to him. He winds up for a slapper 10 feet out from the net! Singh slides in front of it fearlessly and blocks it saving Kanou from what would surely be a goal! 17:21 through and Phil Rafter gets in with a great chance to score but he hits the iron. Brekkar would go the other way for the Old Boys and lets go a snapper that CAL G would turn aside with little effort. The buzzer sounds and that'll end an action packed second period that'll lead up to what should be a fantastic third and maybe overtime! Shots after two are 22-21 in favour of the Old Boys and the score is in their favour as well, 4-3 after 40 minutes played. Join us for the third after this intermission. The final goalie change sees Jakob Kjeldsen coming in for the Old Boys and Benjamin Glover switches in for the New Kids. Chershenko faces off against Berger for the opening draw. Chershenko wins and the third frame is underway. New Kids move in quickly and Ryan Sullivan lets go of a wrister from the point that goes well wide. Jardy leads the charge for the Old Boys as they head up ice and puts a wrister off the blocker of Glover testing him early. It bounces out to Walcott who lays into a slapper but Glover is sharp again and knocks it down to cover up. A furious first 2 minutes of the frame and both sides are again going end to end here, and both sides are creating a lot of chances but can't seem to find the net on many of them. Face-off in the New Kids zone. New Kids win it but turn the puck over and the Old Boys start hard. Fowler lets go a wrister but that's blocked by Sullivan. Fowler picks it up again and shoots wide. Jardy picks up the loose puck and looks shortside! Old Boys Club (S18) , Jardy Bunclewirth 1 (Cam Fowler, Markus Strauss) at 2:37 Jardy gives the Old Boys the 2 goal lead! Baldwin skates over the blue line and just throws a quick snapper on net. IT'S IN! What a weird goal! Baldwin just threw that on net and it completely fooled Kjeldsen and the New Kids are back to within one. Lots of shots being directed at Kjeldsen, and we move to 5:21 through the third. Off yet another save by Kjeldsen, the New Kids set up in the offensive zone looking to put one past the brick wall. Koradek wins the draw back to Reikkinen, and he fires! And beats Kjeldsen just over the glove! The New Kids (Post-S18) , Tukka Reikkinen 2 (Pavel Koradek) at 5:23 Reikkinen's second of the night ties this one up and this is a brand new game with less then 15 minutes to go in regulation. They keep peppering Kjeldsen with shots, but go down a man when Jenkins gets called for cross-checking. Strauss is trying to lead his team back into the lead and tries to beat Glover off the draw, but he's stymied. Reikkinen picks it up and not to be outdone goes end-to-end. He cuts in, let's go a snapper! The New Kids (Post-S18) , Tukka Reikkinen 3 (Mitch Higgins, Benjamin Glover) at 7:37 (SH) The New Kids take the lead! Clark Marcellin is hit by Markus Strauss and loses puck. Alexander Chershenko is hit by Anton Brekker and loses puck. Volodymyr Rybak is hit by Phil Gerrard and loses puck. Phil Gerrard is hit by Alexander Chershenko and loses puck. Things are heating up down there as both sides are getting real physical. Both sides go back to the skill play with the goalies having to be sharp with all the rubber coming in their direction. Old Boys are coming hard, Walcott steps into one but Braxton kneels in front of it. It bounces up and Berger knocks it in! But wait! After much deliberation the war room decided that his stick was BELOW the crossbar when it made contact with the puck and it's ruled a good goal! Old Boys Club (S18) , Lars Berger 2 (David Walcott, James Bencharski) at 16:52 A tough call, and one the New Kids do not like at all, but a good call and then Old Boys are tied up again and they're looking to win it before the period ends. We're heading to sudden-death overtime! A high shooting third period brings us to 37-36 shots in favour of the New Kids. The score is 6-6 as we head to overtime.
