Scurvy 1,549
A little late but today I’d like to review of twoof the European Conference teams as the season starts to take shape. I have been surprised by a few of the clubs that seemed to be in a rebuilding phase make their way to the top of the standings while teams I assumed were going to be contenders are struggling to start the season. I know it’s a long season and stuff will happen but here it goes: WARSAW PREDATORS: Ok it’s my team so It will be biased. The defending Continental Cup Champions bring back a mostly intact team from last year. They did lose goal scoring phenom Bogdan Trunov @qripllto Malmo but picked up Johnny Xavier @Johnny_HXas a free agent who is a proven goal scorer and Sock Monkey @chiknwas called up after winning a championship in the E. Up front their led by a Zach Kisslinger @Kisslinger, Brendan Marner @MetalToday, and Vasile Lamb @dlamb who play a nasty nasty game of grit mixed with offense. They also have the Silent Assassin in Girts Galvins @Girts. He came alive last playoff and has never taken his foot off the gas. On Defense, they are led by Hari Singh Nalwa @Dilwho makes us laugh in locker room and puts up massive points on the ice. Tavish DeGroot @rory and Brian Payne both play a punishing defensive Dman role and love to mix it up. Don’t forget WAR D1 who never speaks but plays with heart. In goal, Wumbo @Fire Fletcherstops everything and is known to take a penalty of two which I personally love. Prediction: Continental Cup Champs (again)……. I am biased though, I warned ya MALMO NIGHTHAWKS Not a team I would have picked to be at the top of the standings this year, but they have come out firing! As I said earlier, they made a great free agent signing in Bogdan Trunov to go along with Igor Molotov @Dom and Donny Carter @TheNeonShaman As of this writing Igor Molotov is #1 in goals scored (12) On the blue line, they have Maq Torqq @Stevewho is a TPE earning beast. They also have S82 draftees Dabnad Shaw @Dabnad and tough guys Jared Carter the 2nd @jaredc7and Mo Probert @Yahtzee. I feel bad for forwards who have to play against this defense. All four of them had a good number of points allotted to BC and Grit so matchups against tough forwards on Warsaw and New York should be fun to see. Also as of now Mo Probert is #11 in overall scoring (13 points), #2 in SB (36), and a +9. Not bad for a undrafted rookie D-man playing in a very tough conference. I am excited to watch his career. In goal, they have two S81 draftees Boris Tsezar and Thomas Price who look to tandem their way to wins. I look for them to grow as the season progresses as well. Prediction: Playoff bound and plenty of violence which I love. Secret hope: A fight filled game against Warsaw SOON!!! Next week I will cover two-three more clubs in the EU conference. qripll, comrade cat, Steve and 6 others 7 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/127322-european-conference-review-part-1/ Share on other sites
