S86 VHL First Featured Game

The VHL season has finally begun in S86 and it is time for more featured game highlight recaps! Today we have our first featured game of Season 86 of the VHL! Our first featured game is, as usual, the first game of the season. We have an all-North American match up. We start the season with a game between the visiting Seattle Bears and rival home team, Los Angeles Stars.

The first VHL game of Season 86 was a very close match and goaltending duel between the Los Angeles Stars and Seattle Bears. The home team, Los Angeles Stars start off their season strong and quickly with an early goal from Deagun Rust @Spade18, who is in his final season of his VHL career. A very welcoming sight for the S79 veteran right winger. Deagun Rust's first goal of S86 came 2:02 into the first period of the new season, as Todd Cooke @l1l KRZY l9l and fellow S79 veteran Poopy Peepants @JardyB10 notches their first points of the season with the primary and secondary assists respectively. Not much happens offensively for the scoreboard in the rest of the period, except for Seattle heading to the sin bin three times at 2:44, 4:45, and 19:19 timestamps. The Los Angeles Stars lead 1 - 0 over the Seattle Bears after 20 minutes. The Stars outshot the Bears 15 to 10 in the period.

The Los Angeles Stars extend their lead early into the second period. A power play goal at 0:27 into the period from Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems @FrostBeard gives the Stars a 2 - 0 cushion. Scoish Velociraptor Maloish @youloser1337 grabs their first point of the season with an assist, and Poopy Peepants doubles their season total with their second assist of the night. Seattle quickly comes back with their own, a goal from the Florida Man @zepheter, Seattle's first goal of the new season S86. Florida Man's goal is also a power play goal, which came at 2:08, cutting Los Angeles Stars' lead back to one at 2 - 1. Alessandro Nano @leafsman and Tavish DeGroot @rory helped on the power play goal with their own 1st assists of the season. Seattle pushes back a little harder, closing the gap in the shots department. The second period ended the same way as the first, with the Los Angeles Stars continuing to lead by one. The Seattle Bears outshot the Los Angeles Stars 13 to 10 in the second period as the two teams traded goals. Los Angeles lead 2 - 1 after two.

Both teams did not give up an edge in the third period. Lots of neutral zone plays, with end to end action as the Los Angeles Stars and Seattle Bears go tooth for tooth and nail for nail. The two teams practically played the same amount of time in each other's zone as both goaltenders faced a fair share of shots. Both Dusty Wilson @dustywilson22, for Seattle, and Art Vandelay @Gustav , for Los Angeles, had a soundless and perfect third period as the game ends with the home team winning 2 - 1. No third period comeback for the Seattle Bears. No goals in the third period for either teams. Seattle outshot Los Angeles 10 to 9 in the period with Art Vandelay shutting the door.
