In previous world cups the tournament would be all but over for 2 teams after the round robin play. The Mercenaries and World would be eliminated from finishing with any kind of medal after finishing 5th and 6th in the round robin. Normally they would play for a meaningless 5th place game.

Not this time though. Every team gets a shot to compete in the single elimination playoffs to win the prestigious gold medal.

This means that the top 2 teams will be getting a bye into the semi-final match-ups. So the United States and Western Europe will await the winners of the quarter final match ups. Good for you.

The quarter finals will be taking place today. They will feature two match ups between some teams that want redemption after struggling in the round robin and one team that played well, but didn't end up in the top 2 spots for the bye.

QUARTER FINAL 1: Canada vs. World

QUARTER FINAL 2: Scandinavia vs. Mercenaries

The winners will face either USA or Western Europe in the semi-finals. The losers will be eliminated.

୧༼ಠ益ಠ༽୨ GOLD MEDAL OR RIOT ୧༼ಠ益ಠ༽୨

What the fuck do you think you have power or something

No, but he does have cool text art. That is all that anybody really needs.

lol I didn't realize that we changed the WC rules.

I like the idea... but just means that the Round Robin only matters if you get first or second - no other advantages or point to it :)
