The Off-Season and Draft That Will Define a Franchise

This season in Season 47, the Toronto Legion failed to make the post-season. This comes as no surprise as teams around them are getting better as Toronto continues to grow their youth. This off-season should be a big one for the Legion however, as Free Agency and that 1st Overall Season 48 draft pick will play their parts. While what they need the most is defense and goaltending, it remains to be seen whether they choose to go the Free Agency rout for those areas or clear up a huge hole through that draft pick. There are multiple players this season who can be drafted to fill those holes for them, and for them it is trying to decide which one of those players will be the most committed to Toronto.

In the past few seasons of drafting, they have found a handful of players who have stayed, and have shown they will be staying committed to the franchise. Those players are the ones in their core, who are Zach Parechkin, World B. Free, and Max Molholt especially. They've definitely found a couple more possibilities in LeAndre St. PIerre and Pete Stockton, who have shown to be faithful as well.

In this draft, there are a few big names that analysts are curious as to who they will be drafting.

Black Velvet:

One of Toronto's key needs are at the number one defenseman position. Black Velvet comes with a ton of scoring, at least early on in his career. He aims to break records as a defenseman and the agency comes with a strong group of players who have proven to bring their A game. Velvet is easily a possibility for the Legion at 1st overall, but what they would want the most out of him is to stay for many seasons, if not his career. The aim for Toronto is Continental Cups of course, and Velvet at the back end for a long time will help the Legion stay a contender if he's there.

Jakab Holik:

Goaltending is what the Toronto Legion have been missing for a long time. Whether they go the Holik rout or not is going to be a huge question. Holik would surely solve that problem for the rest of the time that Toronto stays a contender once they become one. This team is ready to catapult itself to the top of the standings through some extra pieces, and Holik would very much solve a glaring issue. TOR G cannot stay in goal for them forever. They can choose to take Jakab Holik at 1st overall, or maybe try to find another goalie through Free Agency, but FA is always a crapshoot so there's no telling what happens.

Unassisted:

Playmaking. Unassisted brings an area to the Legion that they don't currently have in their forwards, and that is a passing ability. They have a bulk of scoring up front, and if Unassisted joins the team he will bring a definite balance in the top six. STZ's agency has proven to bring amazing and committed players to franchises and if Toronto picks Unassisted, they will no doubt find themselves a balance in scoring for a long time.

Tyson Kohler:

While they don't necessarily need a player at the right wing position, Kohler brings a ton of talent to the table. Kendrick's agency is basically a for sure thing for a stud at the VHL level, and having that kind of presence on your team is extremely beneficial. Tyson Kohler will be a force in the VHL for most of his career most likely, so if the Legion turn in this direction they would be bolstered on offense like no other. Could you imagine Molholt, Parechkin, LSP, and Kohler on the same team? Definition of offense.

---------------------------------------------

It will be interesting to find out who the Legion are going to pick with that 1st overall, as it will set the tone for the rest of the draft as well as their team for the future. GM Molholt definitely has a lot of thinking to do this off-season.

Tyson Kohler for 1st overall! screw defenseman and goalies, Toronto Legion = Edmonton Oilers

Oilers strategy!

Next season everyone will be older and we'll make the playoffs!

I'm on the list in spirit :(

You're there in spirit. I had enough words to finish my PT and I didn't want to drag on. :P

just take holik yas fucksssss

You just want to take back STZ for another losing Quebec squad. Minus myself. So maybe that's the key to success.

huh what

I'm saying if we take Holik, then you can take Unassisted. Reunite Brovy, Frank, and STZ and keep losing like before in Quebec. But this time I wouldn't be there so maybe it would be a key to success. It was a joke.

good article, though now I think it's pretty well decided that Velvet will be the first pick with his 300+ TPE. the comments were also very funny haha! The format was very cool as well.
