Phil 5,119
The Labatte Trophy Race A Call to Look at Stats! So... it would appear my Labatte repeat is a long-shot right? Well here's how I see it: Top 3 Candidates: Arcturus Mengst Biggu Kyanon Phil Hamilton Stats for us three: Mengst(SEA) - 72GP | 37G - 54A - 91P | +31 | 279SHT | 7GWG | 86PIM | 181HIT | 116SB Kyanon(NYA) - 72GP | 18G - 67A - 85P | +48 | 238SHT | 5GWG | 13PIM | 23HIT | 110SB Hamilton(HSK) - 72GP | 27G - 55A - 82P | +33 | 265SHT | 4GWG | 142PIM | 265HIT | 115SB Obviously, I have the lowest point-total from us three, but is my defensive stats good enough to overlook that? And is my offense that much worse? - We all have similar shots blocked, but I have substantially more than anyone else on HSK (30 more.) Kyanon has just 2 more than teammate Duddy and Mengst has the 3rd most on his team (40 less than Jeff Hamilton). - Not only do I have a ridiculous about more hits than these 2, I also have less hits taken, leading to more chances for takeaways and less give aways. Mengst has a +51 Hits to HTT rating, Kyanon has a disgusting -93 Hits to HTT, while Hamilton has an impressive +169 Hits to HTT. - The only downside other than points for me that everyone will overate is penalty minutes, where I have more than those two... but then if they want to look at that, let's look at Points per minute shall we? Mengst: 91P in 2,262MP ---------> 1 point per 24.85 minutes played Kyanon: 85P in 2,260MP----------> 1 point per 26.59 minutes played Hamilton: 82P in 2,061MP--------> 1 point per 25.13 minutes played ---> this means that if I had played the same amount of minutes as Mengst, I would have finished the season with 90 points lol. How strong do you think my case is? Thoughts? Also, this is all without mentioning the fourth Labatte Candidate: Francis York Morgan - who finished with 79 points, 151HIT , 97HTT, 100SB (2nd most on his team) Da Trifecta
JardyB10 4,865
Assuming your relative plus minus isnt atrocious, I do think you're the best candidate of these three actually. I've never liked to put too much stock in points.
