Has there ever been such an accomplishment in Sim League history as a 50th draft in league history? Not that I know of, here are some of the prospects who lead the way for such a historic draft.

1st Overall Pick Hopefuls

Right Wing Diana Maxwell: 191 TPE (16 Banked)

Maxwell went 3rd overall to the Brampton Blades in the Season 49 VHLM Dispersal Draft. So far in the 25 regular season games since then, Maxwell has scored 23 goals and assisted on 12 for 35 points. Definitely living up to the 3rd overall billing. Maxwell has 3 strong suits to her game. Her scoring touch is superb, even better than some current VHL players. Her skating is top notch and VHL ready. Finally, her Puck-handling is adequate but may need some work in the future. Pretty good stuff for a prospect who is gunning for 1st overall in a historic draft.

Right Wing Theo Axelsson: 196 TPE (21 Banked)

Axelsson is a team mate of Maxwell in Brampton. Theo somehow fell all the way to 8th overall in the Season 49 VHLM Dispersal Draft. Since the draft, Axelsson has played in 25 games, scoring 18 goals and assisting on 16 goals for 34 points. Axelsson also played in the most recent World Cup, winning a gold medal, so he has a great winning pedigree. Axelsson's attributes don't have one great standout attribute like Maxwell's scoring touch. Instead Axelsson has 5 good attributes such as his checking, skating, puck-handling, scoring touch and defense.

Center Essian Ravenwing: 136 TPE

What might make Ravenwing is that he plays center rather than the two wingers that have more TPE than him. Ravenwing went 4th overall to the Berm Royals. Ravenwing has scored 9 goals and assisted on 25 goals for 34 points which is on par to the other two draftees. On the plus side, Ravenwing has won a massive 65% of his faceoffs this year. Leading the VHL by a large margin. Much like Axelsson, Ravenwing has a few good attributes rather than a standout one. He has good skating, puck-handling and passing.

Left Wing Asher Donavan: 117 TPE

Finally, the last player set to challenge for 1st overall is Asher Donavan. Asher went 2nd overall in the Season 49 VHLM DIspersal Draft to the Yukon Rush. He is different from the first 3 prospects. You want to know how he is different? He is what we call a first generation player. His agency has not brought a previous player to the Victory Hockey League. How cool would it be if Asher went 1st overall in the Season 50 draft? So far this season, Asher has scored 17 goals and assisted on 20 for 37 points, which is the most of these 4 prospects. He has a few good attributes but also needs to work on some for him to bee a good player in the VHL. Puck-handling and Defense are VHL ready but he needs to work on some others.

Well that's it folks, here are the 4 1st overall pick hopefuls for the historic Season 50 VHL Entry Draft. It will be interesting to see who goes where as all 4 of these players are worthy of the 1st overall pick.

Review:

good article! it was a big surprise that Theo Axelsson dropped to 8th overall in the VHLM draft, its one of the big reasons Brampton has been doing so well. nice to see that three of the four contenders for first overall were from Saskatoon last year. #ImTheBest
