The Mock Draft

Before I start this adventure that is me writing a media spot (I do remember writing a media spot for Brovalenko way back in season thirty-one when I got drafted and I believe that was the only one|) I'am gonna keep it real and say my writing grammar is probably going to be bad. But I dont really expect anybody to be reading this article as so many past members have already wrote one and I am sure there better. Also for the sake of not doing it like other people I am gonna start with number ten and work my way down to number one. So lets go.

With this pick we see the Calgary Wranglers and for a team that recently gone through some management changes (as in an hour or so ago) this team is looking to go with the best player available. The team already possesses a starting goaltender of the future and a top line winger so maybe they go with a defensemen? But this draft seems to be weak at that position so with that being said they add to there winger depth and draft Takashi Fujimoto. In a more weak draft Fujimoto is a top five selection but he drops in this draft due to it being so strong and Calgary gets an excellent player at this pick.

With a chance to win back-to-back Continental cups this team really has it all in every position. Although the team could use a defenseman at this pick they hold on to the pick they have at number twelve and draft a defenseman then. At pick number nine New York selects Rudolph Schmeckeldorf, Schmeckeldorf is an excellent selection at this low of a pick in the first round. Although New York could move the pick  Schmeckeldorf could provide some help down the road for the Americans as they have players like Unassisted and Tom Lincoln retiring in the next two seasons.

Although being a rebuilding team Quebec managed to beat out the Calgary Wranglers for the third and final playoff spot in season fifty-three. This is there second selection in the first round and after addressing a position need on defense with there pick at five here they go with a forward. So why not draft a player with an agent with excellent history in the VHL in Verner Reinholdt. Quebec already has adressed there goaltending and defense situations and have some potential superstars up front so here they took what could lead to a real good role player. Reinholdt could have the potential to be a star but will likely fall just under that category and will be a support player for guys like Gaudette and Muller and Locke.

Helsinki already has a good young core mixed with some older veterans that are right in there primes. Now it is a possibility this pick gets moved I believe they draft one of the best defenseman in this draft in Hudson Abbott. Helsinki doesnt really have a player that is similar to Abbott on there roster or in the system so this pick makes sense and Abbott can make an impact right away on the Titans.

Stockholm is in a great position right now as there currently in the finals with a fairly young roster and still own a first round pick in this draft. Looking at there roster I see one spot where there weak and that is down the middle and one thing you really cant cheat with is at center. Finn just doesnt have the experience to become a number one center with Gowecny moving on they need to take a center at this pick if they choose to keep it. Though it would make sense to move this pick for an experienced veteran they could draft what could be an excellent selection in Shawn Gretzky. Gretzky is no doubt one of the best skaters in this draft but he somehow falls down to six and the Vikings get a franchise centerman that could compete with Finn.

After recently switching the General Manager Riga is in full rebuild mode. With a roster that is very bewildered and with not much coming down the pipeline besides there GM player Riga needs to select the best possible player and this is Marcus King. Goaltending is the most important position without a doubt and King could provide stable goaltending for the next eight seasons. Now King has made it public he does not want to be drafted by Riga, Riga's General Manager would be a fool to not grab the potential of King.

Now there have been rumblings that Helsinki is going to move this pick, if they hold onto this pick they could end up with an excellent addition to there young core. Earlier in the mock draft I mentioned the fact centerman are important to a successful organization so you cant go wrong with drafting Fook Yu at number three. Helsinki already has Franchise Cornerstone as there future number one face-off man but with Covington retiring at the end of season fifty-four Yu could be his replacement. Now Yu would likely have to play on the wing next season he would help out the young team now and for many seasons as an offensive threat.

Another team with a young General Manager that is going to have some serious work ahead of him in order to not be a bottom feeder in the league. Davos already has there goaltending figured out and not having much of anything else, they are tasked with picking whatever player is best for them. They can go with a number of different options but in my opinion they go with a defenseman in Aleksei Federov. Now this could be a surprise pick for some as there are players with more experience than Federov at this pick but for me its simple. Defense is a position that seems to be a tough to acquire legitimate talent in so the only way to do it is through the draft. Federov isnt far behind in talent than any other skaters in this draft so it wouldnt be too off the board.

This pick is as obvious as it gets for me. Torstein Ironside is equal to Marcus King in skill at the goaltending position at with the relationship Ironside has with Toronto's current General Manager makes it a no brainer pick. Toronto already has a number one defenseman in the works in Roman Sokolov so this could be the start of the next great era of the Legion.

Shit reuniting some of that S50 era Quebec team are we @Pablo? Considering Quebec also has my boy @jRuutu as well as @Salt. Oh and I've never really played with @solas for a good run. I may have to go back on my promise to only play for a team I haven't played for with a Quebec team looking like that....

To answer the question, yes, I hope.

Review:

Great mock. Yeah, lots of people predicting me to pick myself, and it's obviously a good prediction. I'm not 100% yet, but that is very likely the choice.
