1: Champion Theme? Like someone that's won the cup / a team that won.

 

3: I really want to win the Cup a few times. Individual awards are nice but being a multi-time champion is my goal.

 

4: Since 2021. It's been a great past time and I've made a good amount of friends to casually chat with about hockey.

 

6: Panthers. They are currently up 3-1 in the series and just need one more okay game. Even a lucky bounce could end the series.

 

7: Macklin Celebrini. He looks good and I'm not gonna go against the NHL scouts on this one. He's the concensus 1st overall pick for a reason.

 

8: I don't travel often but I am scared of heights and never been on a plane so I'd imagine not having much fun.

1. On Monday, Theme Week begins! Any guesses as to what this season’s theme could be?

The VHLM was announced today, and I guess contrary to some of my teammates, I think it's a good one. I appreciate anything that brings new players and the younger guys some shine.

 

2. With the TDL also coming up, are there any additions you would like to see Davos making at this point in the season?

It's full speed ahead for the rebuild, baby. I liked today's move to bring a younger player in Hughie in, and if there are more opportunities to bring in draft picks I think it's a good thing.

 

3. What goals do you hope to achieve by the time your current player’s career is over?

A title. Really, that's it. I've gotten individual awards, HOF, etc., but I haven't won in the VHL since S61. If I'm doing everything I can towards that goal, the rest will come out in the wash.

 

4. How long have you been a member of the VHL?

It's been more than a decade at this point, which is frightening to say. I think I passed the point a few months ago where my sim league career can now legally vote in the US. Damn, I feel old.

 

5. As of right now, which VHL team do you think is Davos’ biggest rival?

I'm going to say it's Moscow. I feel like there have been enough close battles, and enough players moving back and forth, that those games just feel really contentious.

 

8. Do you prefer traveling by car or by plane?

I do love a good road trip. Plus I can stop when I want, take detours when I want, and I really have no problem staying engaged and entertained while driving.

Hmmm. Well i thought it was interesting to read what other people thought more so than what I wrote.

Guess I’m kind of dumb cuz I’m not sure.

I like getting TPE.  So yes, too hard.  Make it easier for me please

That would be in 2007.  Well, I’m gonna say I was working my ass off making as much overtime I could to build the kids’ college funds.

I am guaranteed 1 TPE so that’s as far as I know.  I can’t be disappointed with the results.

I hope its Antonia Buscatini because I picked her for rookie of the year.

I F’d up and didnt get checking, so when I can put TPE in, I’m building defense with secondary checking.  Need to spend more time in the box.

I think it is an awesome as it gives a chance to relfect on your time in VHLM and potentially provide some insight on how to improve the VHLM experience.

2. In the spirit of theme week, what is your favorite VHLM branding? 

 

Houston is the only team that matters in VHLM so it has to be Houston. Bulls, Fire, Rock'n'Roll

 

3. What are your thoughts on Fantasy Zone as an uncapped TPE opportunity? Is it too difficult to get more than one TPE?

 

I think it is great, it is exactly what it is and what it should be. Difficulty, well, we are talking about Free TPE. if you just give it away what is the point of it.

I was 10 years old and was playing football with my friends in our local sports field. It was a great time.

Team is fine, everything could have been much better but it is what it is. Expected a bit more from Frenchman but I guess I should have expected.

1. What did you think of the theme of “VHLM?”

I really liked it, honestly. I know some people like to forget the VHLM ever exists after they move past it, but I like giving the minors some shine.

 

2. In the spirit of theme week, what is your favorite VHLM branding? 

I'm partial to teams with a bit of history, and I've always liked the Saskatoon Wild. Cool logo and colors, a market that loves hockey without a major team, and a lot of VHLM history there.

 

3. What are your thoughts on Fantasy Zone as an uncapped TPE opportunity? Is it too difficult to get more than one TPE?

Not at all, I'd rather it be more difficult than less. And as you saw today, these things go in waves as well. People need to be diligent to do some research into these, and I think AJ's doing a great job leaving them open for a long enough period of time.

 

4. The VHL’s 17th birthday is coming up soon. What were you up to 17 years ago?

Just finishing up high school, but also: On sim leagues. Which, man, my sim league career is old enough to drive at this point, which is depressing in some ways. But hey, still having fun so sticking it out.

Me! Maybe. I think Ironhide will definitely have more goals, but I've been doing pretty well playing facilitator, and more than happy to do so and get those assist numbers up.

 

7. What attributes are you focusing on with your player this season?

Spread all over the place right now, which is by design. I'm sure I'll probably specialize a bit in the future, but for now I want to establish myself as an overall good player before I start to get really good in some areas.

I’m pretty sure that Alex did what he needed to in order to bolster HC Davos and the chances of getting into the playoffs soon.

 

2. How has your player fared thus far in the season? Are you satisfied with what you’ve seen?

 

There are other players on the team who are putting up good numbers and I’m happy to be on a winning team.  As long as I can contribute and we win, I’m good.  Wanna win a cup.

 

3. In your opinion, what makes a good player name in the VHL?

 

Personally, I like funny names and especially like easy to spell names so when I write stuff about them I dont have to keep going back and forth trying to make sure I get the spelling correctly.  

 

4. What color stick tape does your player use?

 

When its new, its white, but eventually it gets stained with opponents blood.

 

5. Do you think hybrid attributes should also be applied to goaltenders?

 

I wouldn’t know how to even think that would work.  No, it seems to be just fine as it is.

Trueno lost his two rivals, Rip Wheeler and Logan Ninefingers, when he got picked up by Vancouver so I guess its David Jokinen now.

Black like the puck, but for the high hand white.

I think so, because they have so really good stats, but at the same time the scoring is kinda high already.

1. The regular season is coming to a close! In your opinion, who is our Davos team MVP of S94?

 

Thats a no brainer…. David Jokinen. @Ahma is the best defender Davos has ever had on the roster.

 

2. What are your expectations for our squad for next season?

 

Well, since I am crashing the press conference, I’m going to say that I expect Davos to lose every game to Vancouver.

 

3. Do you believe in the Victory Cup curse?

 

Absolutely.  And anyone who doesn’t believe is so misguided that they should do some research and become a believer.

 

4. What was the inspiration behind your player’s name?

 

Its a stupid name, but I had to come up with something in a pinch and wanted to keep it in the Thunder family, but ended out going with Thunder Buns.  

 

5. What is one thing you enjoy most about the VHL?

 

Its fun building a player and getting drafted and being a part of a virtual team.  I guess the whole process is quite enjoyable, except earning tpe.  Sometimes it gets old!

 

6. How did your favorite NHL team do during the draft?

 

They helped make the Canucks better, which sucks because they are low on my list of teams I want to win.  

 

7. It has been a super busy first day of NHL free agency! Was there a move that surprised you most?

 

Yes… when i saw that Debrusk left Boston for Vancouver.  It hurt my feelings.

 

8. What is your favorite song right now?

 

That changes all the time, but I’ve been listening to a lot of Los Tigres del Norte lately and the last song I listened to was El Porro.

1. The regular season is coming to a close! In your opinion, who is our Davos team MVP of S94?

I have to agree that it's Jokinen. Maybe it's not the point total that they had last year, but in terms of keeping the team together during a rebuilding stretch, there's nobody better.

 

2. What are your expectations for our squad for next season?

I do think it's reasonable to look towards a playoff birth next season. Especially with some more rebuilds coming in Europe, Davos should be ready to compete sooner rather than later.

 

3. Do you believe in the Victory Cup curse?

Let's say being the best regular season team doubles your chances of winning in the playoffs. In that case, it still means going from a 10% chance of winning (1 of 10 teams) to 20%. There's a lot of parity in the VHL - it's less a curse and more just math.

 

4. What was the inspiration behind your player’s name?

Mostly I wanted to go back towards Europe with this player, and I thought Italy was usually pretty underrepresented. From there my mind went toward food, and I mashed up a celebrity chef (Antonia Lofaso) with a type of noodle.

 

5. What is one thing you enjoy most about the VHL?

I've always enjoyed the history of it. I like the competition and stats of it all, and being able to compete against not only people at the same time but also 90+ seasons of history really appeals to me.

 

8. What is your favorite song right now?

It's summer, it's vibes, and Igual Que Un Angel by Kali Uchis has been on my playlist pretty regularly for the past month or so.

Just continuing the Jokinen player line.

Habs had a FANTASTIC draft!!!! Demidov! and the son of the legend Saku Koivu, Aatos. I love it.

I made a article about that lol, but simply wanted to keep a french name and having some Quebec meaning.

Using a different sim engine than the SHL to see how it's different.

 

6. How did your favorite NHL team do during the draft?

Pittsburgh got some okay players with some offensive talent (Howe and Swenson) and Montreal got two really good forwards in the first round! 

 

7. It has been a super busy first day of NHL free agency! Was there a move that surprised you most?

I was more surprise than not hahaha! Moves like Zadorov, Montour, Stephenson and Tanev are surprisingly high and too long

 

8. What is your favorite song right now?

Don't really have one at the moment, listening to everything!
