Axelsson Career Recap

Double Holiday Payout

It feels like a hundred years ago when Otto Axelsson first begin playing professional hockey. I barely remember all the events leading up to declaring for the VHLM draft but I remember being incredibly nervous and unsure of what to do. I got to play for Yukon early on, they claimed me on waivers and I got into 24 games for them. I went onto play for Saskatoon after they drafted me the next season and while I did ok I didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations that I had set for myself. The mediocre season was a huge blow to my self-esteem and I didn't think I would ever pan out as a hockey prospect; it sent me into a dark spiral and I entered a deep depression and I took a season off from the sport of hockey. I had later found out that I had been drafted by Calgary and then traded to Seattle and I felt bad for letting down the Wranglers but I wanted to make the Bears happy about their acquisition.

I put myself together and reached out to my agent and asked him to get me back into the VHLM so I could get to speed before I could play in the VHL. Las Vegas decided to take a chance on me and I put together my best season as a pro athlete, my 27 goals and 51 points were something I was proud of after not playing for an entire season. I also went on a heater in the playoffs, scoring 13 points in 11 games but we lost to my former team in seven games. After the disappointment of losing the biggest game of my career I was feeling pretty low, though, the Seattle Bears won the Continental Cup so I was about to join a very good team.

Nearly 300 games later, the rough start to my career seems like a distant memory and now I have my own Continental Cup ring and over 200 points to my name. I still never reached the heights that I had wanted to when I was a young boy with aspirations of becoming the next superstar. All in all, I am semi-pleased with my career and even though this will likely be the last season in the VHL I would like to go out on top. A season where I score over a point per game is still on my bucket list and maybe if the hockey gods smile upon me, an individual award. I would also love to capture myself another ring before I hang the skates up and I think the Seattle Bears have the pieces to make it happen.

I would like to apologize to all of those I let down during the course of my career, @Bushito who wasted a pick on me, but I would also like to thank those who helped me to reach the heights that I did. Without @Banackock and @Tyler I would not have remained active and training nor would I have won the Cup that I did. I also would like to thank all the teammates that have carried me for the past few seasons!

Were you Asher Donovan just before Axelsson or am I going senile?

Yes, I had some personal issues irl and stepped away from sim leagues before he could take off.
