If any of you had time recently maybe you would have stumbled upon the VHL records section. I've had a lot of time these past few days so I have been looking for something to write about. I took a quick peak at the bottom of the records page which was the record for most goals in one season. I have a some sort of OCD or something were I can't start in the middle, I have to either start from the bottom or the top, I can't just jump into something from the middle. So I either had chosen this or most rookie assists. So as drake would say "I started from the bottom".

Scotty Campbell, GOAT

The current record holder for this award is none other than the great Scotty Campbell. He has held this record since Season 5 with 89 goals. That is an amazing 33 seasons he has held that record. I don't think anyone will break this record since at the time Scotty broke this record; the guy who has come close in recent years is Tukka Reikkinen in Season 27 with 79 goals. That is 10 behind Mr. Campbell.

If we look even closer, 18 of the 25 players with the most goals in a single season did this in season 1-9. That is 72% of the 25 players who did this in the leagues infancy when players weren't that great defensively. The only player who reached the top 25 from Seasons 10-19 is Layken Heidt who did this in Season 10. Five players who made this list scored their way into the top 25 from Seasons 20-29. These players are Tukka Reikkinen and Lasse Milo who did it in Season 27, while Tarik Saeijs, Max Kronenburg and Lars Berger did it in Season 20. That leaves us with our last member of the list in Phil Rafter who managed to reach the top 25 in Season 32.

Scotty Campbell, looking good as usual

Now back to Scotty Campbell, you want to know why he is so great? He is the only player to make this list in each of the seasons he has played in the VHL. In Season 1, he scored 74 goals which is good enough for 7th on the all-time list. In Season 2, he scored 79 goals which is good enough for 4th on the all-time list. In Season 3, he scored 'just' 70 goals which is good enough for 14th on the list. These three seasons happened with Vasteras, then Season 4 happened and the unthinkable as Scotty Campbell was traded to Seattle. In Seattle, Scotty scored 87 goals which is good enough for 2nd on the all-time list. In Season 5, which is now the record Scotty scored 89 goals. For his final act, after signing in Helsinki, Scotty scored a mere 68 goals which is 21st all time. With one last kick at the can, Scotty signed with Toronto and in Season 7 he finished 9th all-time scoring 73 goals. To put in perspective, Scotty Campbell played 7 Seasons in the VHL and in all 7 seasons he has 5 of the top 9 single season goal scoring records and 7 of the top 21 spots. That ladies and gentleman is a legend.

Brett Slobodzian, Original Record Holder

There are 3 other players who appear on this list more than twice and those players are: Brett Slobodzian, Mike Szatkowski and Christian Stolzschweiger. Brett first appeared on this list in Season setting the record at 79 goals which is now 3rd all time. This record stood until Season 4 when Scotty broke it than later broke his own record in Season 5. The second time Brett appears on this is 6th all-time when he scored 76 goals in Season 3. Brett Slobodzian is in 2 of the top 6 spots or 33% of the top 6. That is why he is considered one of the greatest snipers of all-time. The second gentleman who appears on this list is Mike Szatkowski. He comes in at 8th all-time with 74 goals which happened in Season 8. The second time he comes in is 22nd all-time when he scored 68 in Season 7. Last but not least, is Christian Stolzschweiger. He first appears on this list at 10 when he scored 72 goals in his rookie season. This was in Season 2. He then comes back at 19th all-time when he scored 68 in Season 3.

977 words. A real nice topic here, which may or may not be updated, but even if it was, I'm sure that no a lot would chance either way. It's nice to see old historical articles like this to remember the "olden" days here in the VHL.

Grammar: 1.5/2

Still a lot of mistakes. I'm sure you could take an extra 5 minutes to read this out loud to yourself and correctly find those silly mistakes that continually appear.

This is a really interesting topic you have chosen. Obviously I wasn't around in the "glory days", but I still find it fascinating to read and learn about the history of this league. Well done. Although, I should probably dock you for the drake reference. :P

Grammar: 1.5/2

He got them all. This has been a weak spot for you, but it seems to be improving. I believe a couple of weeks ago you actually got full grammar points, so keep at it.
