Rayzor_7 741
With my one year anniversary in Minnesota coming up on the 31st I thought I’d look back at some of the impact I’ve had on the VHLM and VHL as well as just some general stuff. S67 Draftees TPE Progression (Sadly TPE unknown at draft) 1.01 – Berocka Sundqvist (1021 TPE now) 1.08 – Danny DeYeeto (258 TPE now) 2.04 – Stanley Sawchuk (Traded on selection, 64 TPE) Retired 2.10 – Hugh Chan (490 TPE now) IA 4.04 – Mac Hooper (297 TPE now) IA 4.06 – Ryo Yamazuki II (540 TPE now) 5.05 – Charles Drum (577 TPE now) 7.02 – Ondrej Ohradka (576 TPE now) S68 Draftees TPE Progression No picks made worth mentioning S69 Draftees TPE Progression 3.04 – Toppi Attakallio (63 TPE at the draft, 131 TPE now) Retired S70 Draftees TPE Progression 1.11 – Uhtred (154 TPE at the draft, 467 TPE now) 2.07 – Aleelee Kiak (131 TPE at the draft, 322 TPE now) 3.03 – Alex Burrows (124 TPE at the draft, 152 TPE now) IA 3.09 – Kendall Rasmussen (66 TPE at the draft, 98 TPE now) IA 3.10 – Jaxx Hextall (191 TPE at the draft, 616 TPE now) 4.03 – Jack Feriancek (95 TPE at the draft, 258 TPE now) 6.03 – Raiens Grasis (32 TPE at the draft, 85 TPE now) IA S71 Draftees TPE Progression 1.07 – Woody Mcpine (78 TPE at the draft, 256 TPE now) 1.09 – Latteral Mitchell (151 TPE at the draft, 365 TPE now) 1.11 – Robin Winter (174 TPE at the draft, 383 TPE now) 2.02 – Valtteri Vaakanainen (166 TPE at the draft, 401 TPE now) 2.04 – Gavin Harris (123 TPE at the draft, 168 TPE now) IA 2.08 – Squirrely dan (136 TPE at the draft, 259 TPE now) S72 Draft Class 1.13 – Liam Flaten (183 TPE at the draft) 2.02 – Joe Exotic (171 TPE at the draft) 2.11 – The Terrible Trivium (130 TPE at the draft) 3.02 – Groovy Dood (70 TPE at the draft) 3.07 – Han Jae Kuk (88 TPE at the draft) 3.10 – Cole Newhook (97 TPE at the draft) 3.12 – Mikeal Keef (91 TPE at the draft) 4.02 – Michael Hall (109 TPE at the draft) Trades: S66: 7 S67: 19 S68: 7 S69: 4 S70: 17 S71: 6 S72: 7 (So far) Total: 67 Trades (11.17/season) I had planned to total the players in and players our as well as picks in and picks out before I got to the number of total trades and had to say fuck that shit. Is there a correlation to me making massive moves and winning? Let’s see: S67: 53-14-5 (3rd place), 4 individual awards, GMoTY, Founders Cup finalists. S68: 42-20-10 (3rd place), 1 individual award. S69: 21-44-7 (9th place), 1 individual award. S70: 61-8-3 (1st place), 2 individual awards, GMoTY, Founders Cup Champions S71: 53-17-2 (3rd place), 1 individual award. S67 and S70 were our best for sure; curiously that’s when we had 19 and 17 trades respectively. Does this mean trading means your team will do better and win more, no. You do need a plan and the ability to find ways around hardships your team may be having. It would be hard to argue that I’ve had anything but a great tenure in Minnesota. I would’ve like another cup but 4/5 seasons finishing in the top 3 in a league who’s winning cycles tend to be 1 season on and 1 off is nothing short of great. Fun fact, I’ve only had two AGM’s over my year long tenure. Hiring @DMaximus in S66 and then losing him after S67 to go GM Philadelphia. @Mr_Hatter has been my helper ever since. I do have to give both credit where it’s due, Dmaximus was a help while I got my bearings early on and including that S67 cup run, so thank you for your time in Minnesota. Hatter, you had a bigger impact than I could have expected when I hired you all those seasons ago. You are as much a part of the Minnesota Storm image as I am and are a huge key as to why we were successful and why our locker room atmosphere was often cheery even when quiet. Thank you to all the GM’s of the past and present VHLM. You guys put up with my pestering for trades and talking and it helped me thrive. As well without you guys to compete against there would be a distinct lack of enjoyment and fun day in and day out when you chirp each other. Lastly a thank you to @Banackock and @diamond_ace, you guys took a risk on a first generation player not even through half of his first season. I would like to think I’ve done my best to pay you guys back for that trust. You guys put up with a ton of shit and have helped the VHLM thrive over your tenure and for that I applaud you. Cheers VHLM, it has been a blast! diamond_ace, ROOKIE745, Mr_Hatter and 4 others 7 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/83199-a-year-leading-minnesota/ Share on other sites
