diamond_ace 3,112
"With the 9th pick in the S68 Expansion Draft, the Prague Phantoms select from the Helsinki Titans, Alex Pearson, Center." There are certain moments that change a franchise. Little did I know at the time, but that was one of them. The rest of the expansion draft came and went - Dalton Wilcox ended up traded to New York so he could play alongside his friend Fredrik Elmebeck (RIP), Erik Draven @Jbeezy76 left us in FA to enjoy a long and prosperous career with Helsinki, Scotty Big Shotty went inactive, Bolt Vanderhuge was already inactive before we acquired him, but the one guy who stayed with us from the moment this franchise existed until the moment he could play no more was Alex Pearson. With Thomas Landry II @Doomsday breathing down his neck, Pearson may not end up holding a lot of franchise records when all is said and done, but he'll always be the first. Pearson has been nothing but the best for Prague and I hope that Prague has been the experience he deserved. Without further ado, as the representative of the Phamily, let's all give a round of applause to one hell of a career, as we watch the number 28 lift to the rafters. Congrats @Jayrad28 you deserve every good thing this world can give you, both as a player in VHL and as a person in real life. This has been a fantastic working relationship over the years and I can only hope to bring you back at some point in the future. Jbeezy76 396
@Jayrad28Congratulations brother. I definitely enjoyed my time playing with you during my first couple seasons in the VHL with Prague. I wish you the best and I know you gave it your all every night and day with the team. Hope to play with you someday in the future. Draven also retires after this season so it’s going to be emotional for sure. diamond_ace, Seabass, Jayrad28 and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/91020-retired-number-ceremony/#findComment-778634 Share on other sites
