Spence King 387
Vancouver Wolves S75 Forward Group After capturing the S74 Continental Cup, the Vancouver Wolves had to say farewell after raising the trophy to two key pieces on this very young Wolves roster with 9/13 Roster players being drafted S72 or later. A career Wolf retiring with 432 career Games played along with 50+ Playoff Games during his 5 years in the pros, capping it all off with his best hockey his last two seasons and his Victory lap season was one for the history books Brock Louth S74 Playoff MVP (Daisuke Kanou Trophy) Winner. After losing their biggest offensive cornerstone the Wolves opted to keep investing in the future parting ways with another player who had only knew the Wolves Jersey in his 7 year professional career one of the very few still left from his draft class the legendary veteran Jeff Downey S73’s Top offensive defenseman in the VHL ( Alexander Valiq Trophy) a two time 100 Pt scoring Defenseman coming off of three straight 20 goal seasons including a career high 32 in S73. The Wolves moved Jeff to the windy city in a trade going to the Chicago Phoenix in exchange for a S77 3rd and S76 4th. The S74 Continental Cup Champion Vancouver Wolves were really carried by these two players offensively and relied upon heavily each night as main scoring options, with Louth and Downey being the teams top two for Pts by a fair margin. Especially Louth having points on well over 50% it felt like all goals during the final series against Helsinki. These changes lead for lots of opportunity and a major gap in scoring left open to be filled. The Wolves have a locker room full of pieces that are more than capable of filling that void, the only question is , who will it be ? Get to know your S75 Vancouver Wolves Forwards (S72) Andrew Su (4th VHL Season) User: @Da_Berr | TPE: 760 (0 Banked) C | 6' 0" | 190 lb. | Age: 16 | Canadian VHL Drafted: 13th Overall (S72) | VHLM Drafted: 25th Overall (S71) -Coming off of an history book season scoring 100 pts the wolves look to Su as their Current and Future first line Center. Strong two way scoring, more offensive as of late, always a max earner and continuing to grow as on of the leagues top players. (S72) Gregg Stallion (3rd VHL Season) User: @SweatyBeaver | TPE: 623 (5 Banked) RW | 6' 0" | 180 lb. | Age: 20 | German VHL Drafted: 15th Overall (S72) | VHLM Drafted: 20th Overall (S72) Gregg Stallion going into only his third VHL season ironically one of the older players on the roster. Finishing S74 scoring 30 goals for the 1st time in his career as a sophomore was quite impressive. this is a Pure Sniper already with 700 career shots, extremely loyal, max earner, funny guy in the LR. Stallion will be on the first line Winger for a long time (S73) Kevin King (Sophomore) User: @IamMOOSE | TPE: 579 (5 Banked) C | 6' 1" | 187 lb. | Age: 25 | U.S.A VHL Drafted: 19th Overall (S73) | VHLM Drafted: 4th Overall (S73) Kevin King the once highly touted VHLM prospect earning at an incredible rate in S73 only to later go on and slide way down and Vancouver got a steal in a future 1st line big two-way scorer. The previous 4th Ovr VHLM pick and Kevin is finding is way into the pros and finding his role as a depth scorer in Vancouver. King is your perfect 2nd line center to bring balanced scoring to your team , he does it all, all considering being such a young player the potential as a first line center is there too. (S74) Onde Sandstrom (Sophomore) User: @fonziGG | TPE: 510 (7 Banked) RW | 6' 8" | 240 lb. | Age: 25 | Sweden VHL Drafted: 6th Overall (S74) | VHLM Drafted: 8th Overall (S73) Onde Sandstrom is one of the scariest and toughest players to come through the VHL and most of all the country gentle country Sweden Itself. Sandstrom standing at 6’8” and weighing over 240lbs this big strong skating winger really knows how to throw a hit, his ability to always come out of the corner with the puck during battles provides major advantages creating scoring opportunities out of nothing. Sandstrom the 6th Ovr Pick in S74 and 4th Forward selected as well as the 3rd Vancouver Wolf to be selected in those top 6 picks. Sandstrom would be a no doubt 1st line Powerforward winger on any other VHL team, going into what is just his sophomore season as a pro playing minutes split between 1st and 2nd line on the wing with such great young forward talent in Van City future 1st line Power Forward Winger. (S74) Venus Thightrap (Sophomore) User: @BladeMaiden| TPE: 528 (25 Banked) C | 5' 9" | 140 lb. | Age: 21 | Denmark VHL Drafted: 3rd Overall (S74) | VHLM Drafted: 13th Overall (S73) The pint sized exotic Danish superstar the wolves had one of the most stacked draft picks in S74 with pick 3 picks through the first 6 ! Respectively 3rd , 4th and 6th. With their 1st choice in the S74 draft none other than Miss Thightrap. Venus is truly a franchise changing potential player. Compared to Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid except 140 lbs lol. Venus is currently playing on a line with two Offense first minded players, Thightrap has taken it upon herself in her sophomore season to focus more on her two-way game playing on the wing with Su and Stallion, Venus just makes the players around her better and showing signs of incredible growth. (S73) Jesper Norberg (Sophomore) User: @jpsd | TPE: 497 (7 Banked) RW | 5' 10" | 175 lb. | Age: 25 | Sweden | VHL Drafted: 20th Overall (S73) | VHLM Drafted: 11th Overall (S73) Norberg is a future shoe in every year to be nominated for most gentlemanly player, his transitioning to the pros from the M with no problem. After putting in the work in practice and proving his size and style of play is still effective, not the most aggressive, but effective. @Beaviss was able to snag @jspd early in the 2nd securing a long time loyal and dependable franchise winger. Jesper Norberg came into Vancouver with an incredible rookie season scoring 27 Goals, 41 Assists for 68 Pts in 72 GP and a whopping 306 shots on net! Norberg is your perfectly built career depth scoring with consistency. Due School holding Jesper’s development back slightly the S73 WJHC Gold Medalist and most recently S74 Continental Cup Champion Norberg is poised to be a Wolf for life already established 2nd line winger , maybe the best depth scoring option in the league and Vancouvers lucky to have a user like this Norbergs dedication and consistency and priceless. (S74) Riley Couture (Rookie) User: @Riley_Couture | TPE: 417 (42 Banked) C | 5' 7" | 145 lb. | Age: 23 | Great Britain | VHL Drafted: 19th Overall (S74) | VHLM Drafted: 29th Overall (S73) Riley Couture is the type of player when youre watching a game , everyone is saying “who is that”? Couture is a player the VSN Scouts were talking about since stepping on the ice for the first time playing for SSK in S73. Couture was instantly slotted as a top 10 pick in both drafts and maintained that position for up to the draft. The Wolves and Im pretty sure Riley as well coudlnt have been happier on draft day when they were able to use their high 2nd round pick to secure Coutures rights. After last seasons strong success and proven commitment and dedication to winning Couture was name AGM in HFX as well as playing on the 21st’s top line with VHLM Legend Michael Hall @Hops , carrying Halifax to an out of this world 64-7-1 record only to lose in a game 7 in the Round one of the playoffs.
