  1. Thanks for all the love! Your support is what keeps me going!
  2. Yeah Green it only makes sense. Which means this is a false mock draft. Remy already on a team! I'm actually really excited to see how the teams look for this. So many options.
  3. That took an interesting turn. Remy played solid here but who would of thought we would be talking about the Legion offensive prowess at this stage? PLAYOFFS!
  4. I'm assuming Labatte, Ryback, Wozniak and Marcellin are all ineligible given they have retired/this is their last season? Meaning their re-creates are eligible?
  5. http://www73.zippyshare.com/v/78179030/file.html We are back, finally after me not being in a funk and deciding to get back to doing point tasks again. Jericho and Chris do indeed join me for some post season reactions and thoughts. We look at potential award winners, run down the notable performances and standings on the season. Talk Super Cup, playoff predictions, take a look at the trades that happened earlier in the season and wrap it all up with some shout outs. Look for this regularly again, as I plan on being back to my old usual pace!
  6. Do we have a date set for the draft? Do we want to do it before or after the playoffs end? It'd be nice to get the ball rolling of doing it while the playoffs are still going...but at the same time it could take away from the focus on the playoffs. Thoughts?
  7. Skylar Rift has not been made available for media appearances for the majority of the season. Some may recall, last season the player dubbed as "two face" by his team and the league would constantly appear in front of reporters bad mouthing other teams and his direct competition. He was always counted on for a headline quote, and was consumed with his own self persona. It lead to him being one of the more arrogant players in the league. When asked about this decisions for the majority of the season Quebec General Manager Pavel Koradek had this to say. "Skylar is a great goalie for us. When we picked him up we knew that since winning a Continental Cup in his rookie season he'd come up with the experience and knowledge of how to get it done. But rising to fame that young in your career can certainly inflate an ego. While we support Rift and his outlook on the game we didn't need him adding more fuel to the fire. We are focused on winning a Cup this year, on getting two legendary player agents in Kyle Snow and Kyle Dowd Championships that have barely eluded them and their players. Rift was perfectly fine with this decision. In fact, he welcomed it. Although he did flip a coin when we asked him, which seems to be his go to move. This trend will continue however as the playoffs go on. Rifts player agent, Ryan Power will be available for media but Rift himself would like to remain behind closed doors until the playoffs are over." Rift has gone far past just embracing the two face moniker says teammates. He carries a coin around with him and uses it to make decisions on purchases on what to eat. He has grown into quite the eccentric player. So always speaking to the media one season and then never speaking them to the next would only further this persona in his head. While Rift had a strong season last year, he managed to finish tops in save percentage and second in goals against average this year. On top of being second in shut outs and leading the league in Wins on the Victory Cup winning Meute. While his save percentage was stronger last season, goal scoring reached a big high this year which allowed him to secure top spot. He could be in the running for a few individual awards this season, so maybe keeping his mouth shut may be the answer. Only time will tell.
  8. Didn't see this yet. Thanks Noah, this is BAD ASS!
  9. You should look at rosters more closely. We played with two defenders on our roster. Valiq...and Valiq. Tomas Valiq is not a D, Higgins and Jardy changed him to that in the sim. Our lines show us having two D. Just saying.
  10. It was more so we wanted people to be interested in applying to be a GM. The Super Cup idea got a lot of positive feedback by people who wanted to participate, but putting in the time to be a GM, do a draft and get settled with a team name representing some semblance of history of the league some people might not know about may not interest everyone. The 2 TPE is just an incentive for the work being done and to help ensure that the Super Cup will get as much excitement as possible. While you are right that it isn't that much more work than team GM's do, it is arguably more important. If you take over as a GM of an actual team and you have zero interest in creating hype about the team or the roster, phone in drafts, get lazy draft whomever and ramshackle build a team....get taken out as GM who suffers? Your team. The team can rebound or continue down the path under a new GM, but you feel the weight of your team as time goes on as the GM. Building a legacy as a good GM is on you. This is a one time deal every so many seasons. This is meant to be as competitive as fun as possible and entire event that brings the league together. The TPE incentive ensures people apply and take it seriously. At least hopefully they feel more guilty if they don't because they are being "rewarded" for taking the position with a TPE bonus. Serious drafting strategies, creating a locker room for a short period with a collective of newly drafted teams and getting everyone on board and trying to work on strategies and winning. Anyway it is fine to disagree with it, but I feel it is easily justified. At least for the early going. If/when the event is established as something that is taken as both fun and serious thing we do every so many seasons then maybe it can be removed but getting ideas like this off the ground it doesn't hurt to throw incentive in there.
  11. Man Remy had us all beat on save percentage and had that top goalie locked down. Going to be a much tougher vote now that things have dropped. First season I think I've led the league in save percentage though. Yay? Interesting season S35 was. VICTORY CUP QUEBEC WOOP!
  12. I love how all the payout stuff for GM's and all players participating was in the original post and nobody bothered to check. But then GM apps go up and there is a hissy fit. GM's get pay so people are interested in doing it and because unlike World Cup your not just selecting from a list of players available exclusively to you and your done. This far more depth in building a team and creating a interesting locker room and team atmosphere regarding getting engaged and involved. Considering GM's only receive 2 bloody TPE, I don't think it's crazy.

  14. I'd say something positive to you but I didn't get no shout out! LIKE WHAT?!
  15. I wouldn't call it useless. They try to find homes for pets but sometimes you can't. It is very easy to judge something on this side of the fence. But imagine sitting with too many pets that you have room for, budget cuts because economic times in the United States are very tough right now, nobody coming to pick up the pets and having to buy more food to keep them all alive and healthy and getting to the point where you HAVE to get rid of some. What do you do? At a certain point tough decisions have to get made. Welcome to humanity. People get so focused on the way we live life they forget. We got here by murdering and killing and conquering. We are better than that now, to a point. But when push comes to shove in this world you even in first world society where eventually you have to make tough decisions that are still the root of the fact that we live in an organic industrial world where people requirements need to be met to keep things going. I don't like hearing these stories either to be honest, but I get why this stuff at times happens. If anything stories like this should motivate us to work towards a system where resources and organizations are as close to infinite as possible for stray pets like this. A facility that could house all these animals for adoption and have limitless shelter/food would be great. It doesn't exist. It's one of the reasons why I so much long to see the future, hoping we make it that far without any serious tragedies as advancing in various technologies slowly but surely works on solving a lot of our issues and will likely continue to do so.
  16. Honestly regarding the Kadri stuff the play on Backstrom to me was absolutely suspendable. He should of been thrown out on that play as well to be honest. As for the Grandlund hit, I agree that it wasn't nearly as severe as the first hit, that Granlund was admiring the play, had his head down and if because he did the hit looked far worse than it needed to be. But Kadri targeted his shoulder up and if you watch the play Grandlund had his head down for quite some time. He didn't instantly jolt into the more vulnerable position. Kadri had plenty of time to see the players positioning, and should of altered the nature of his hit to compensate for that. I don't think it's a suspendable hit though. On that play I think a match penalty is fine. If it continues to happen then sure, suspend the player for it but it's one of those situations where some punishment needs to be brought in to let the player know to be less reckless and pay attention to the position of the opposing player.
  17. Was pretty much sold on getting a PS4 over XBox1 to start, although I will own both eventually. But now not so sure. Console looks quick, snappy, love the UI changes and Playstation Plus is still great but the thing I loved most about Sony is something I"m going to have to wait to see quality on right now. That being first party software ergo games. Knack looks rather lackluster which sucks and Killzone is just another shooter. First party launch software looks rather bleak right now for Sony. Resogun reviewed great but not my style of game. While I'm sure Quantic Dream will release something eventually, and Naughty Dog will make another Uncharted (their B team will) and their A team will likely move on from Last of Us to make another amazing original IP and you have InFamous in the spring as well as Destiny being the go to game on PS4 I'm still a little hesitant. Launch line up of games has looked far more solid for One right now. Obviously multi console is irrelevant, but Forza and Dead Rising 3 alone look to be very solid considering they are launch games. Add that with the fact that Titanfall is coming to XB1 first next year and I don't know. I'll likely still end up getting a PS4 first, despite the weak launch line up Sony has had great first party titles over the course of the PS3 even if it took them a while to get there. Microsoft can start out strong with a few key first party games but they usually beat the Halo/Gears sequels into the ground over the course of a console cycle. Not to mention I can also check out Titanfall on PC. How have you been enjoying launch line up thus far Sandro? I know your pretty big on Killzone but anything else you enjoying?
  18. I think it's a good signing Kyle. Bryz is an NHL caliber goalie and I stand by that statement until proven otherwise. Playing bad on Philly is irrelevant. Every goalie plays bad on Philly, although Mason hasn't been too awful for them this year. Although a bit average. I think Bryz is motivated to make an NHL return and while I don't think he'll be winning the Vezina, I think he could be a solid starter for them for the rest of the season to help turns things around and give them a bit more confidence on the back end.
  19. Sigh. Was set so Que G is supposed to play against NY not me....fail.
  20. Go watch the Isle play. Same division, growing team, new arena, likely going to add more players to make a push. May not be Cup winners right away but a lot of compete in them and offensive ability. Here is a legit question for you though. What is your GM going to do next? Obviously it is going to take one more "move" that goes sour before owners decide to give Holmgren the boot, but what will it be? I honestly don't even know if Giroux is untouchable since he traded pretty much every "big star" that the team had at one point. As in Richards, Carter, and Briere all being gone. I wonder if he is in the mix for Ryan Miller as well.
  21. Enders Game Was solid. Have yet to read the book, but coming from just a film perspective it felt very rushed and crammed in. The "big twist" felt very easy to predict and reveal. Having talked with people who have read the book they did say it was a relatively faithful adaptation however was super crammed in and while nothing major plot wise was left out a lot of the minor stuff was missing. Character progression and growth is a big one missing. Movie was only 2 hours, probably could of used another hour just to delve into the characters and slow the pacing down. Really my only complaint about it was the stereotyping and characterization of most of the minor characters and how quickly things evolved simply because they had to cover so much ground. With how detailed I've heard the book is, and now that I'm finished I'm going to give it a read either increase the length of the film or make it a two part. Probably the biggest downfall here.
  22. Sieve? I'd take that as a compliment at this point, our team wouldn't have lost a single game if it wasn't for my ass awful play in critical games. But you had a bad last season, and now are playing like you should. Which means I get to have a bad regular season and tear it up in the playoffs, as was the case before last season. All will be right in the world come playoffs.
