Quite a dilemma, wouldn't want to be a GM this draft. Although of course might be the easiest draft ever if everyone pans out.

Lmao Helsinki will never die. Shades of S24-S34 NY.

Easily my favourite player, only one I could guarantee would elevate the attacking play of any team. Exactly for that reason is besf EFT untarnished.

Two amazing pieces of news.

We probably could have adapted the grammar section rather than get rid of the whole concept of grading entirely.

I got into a discussion with @Tagger in my press conference yesterday: https://vhlforum.com/topic/48150-pod-cast-press-conference-pcpc/ (please ask questions I like answering them thank you) and I realised that there is a bit of a dark hole in my memory where Greg Clegane's career should have been. Granted, I remember quite vividly Clegane's specific successes and championships and I don't think I missed out on what was actually an absolute dream of a ride for a goaltender, but given there were at least 3 seasons in his career that I wasn't really massively active (S46, S50, S52), it's all a bit choppy and a bit blurry. This also spreads to the VHL in general during the 40s, with a few examples below: 1. I think some older players were more recent than they are Specifically I realised this when talking to Tagger as I thought Edwin Reencarnacion was on the NYA team around when I left but in reality he had moved onto Edwin Reencarnacion by then. I have a similar problem with Higgins' players - I always default to James Faraday being a recent player and seem to forget entirely about Black Velvet. More damningly... 2. I get confused with Frank and Brovy's Quebec players Both Matt Bentley (S35-S42) and Clegane (S45-S52) spent a brief time on Quebec and I get the 2 times very much mixed up. I am still fairly certain that Clegane's time in Quebec was with Aksel Thomassen and Bruno Wolf scoring at will, but in reality it was with Tom Lincoln and John Sleeman... not really scoring at will either. It doesn't help it was the exact same 2 members either. 3. I forget that I played for Helsinki Greg Clegane's both cups were won with the Titans but when I was recently recording a podcast about teams I'd like to get drafted to, I almost accidentally put Helsinki higher than I intended to because I briefly thought that I had never played for it. I suspect the reason for this is because when I was fully active, with Bentley and earlier with Chershenko, I was close to getting traded to the Titans and ended up on Quebec and NY instead. As those memories are fresher, I therefore continue assuming that I never quite made it to Finland. So that's that, I'm hoping they get a cure for Alzheimer's soon.

As I pointed out here, I genuinely think grading was a huge benefit for people and good for activity. I miss 2010.
-
Oh right no that makes sense, Reencarnacion was a 40s player wasn't he whooops. Truth be told I was gone after Clegane but anything after Bentley is a bit blurry.

Good don't make us lose for nothing.

Plausible - the last few weeks of VHLM GMing were a bit of a blur. The whole last season even when my first-gen-only policy failed miserably. If you were on NY in S52 then I rejected you in FA in favour of missing the playoffs. Cleganebowl hype got to my head.

1. Wow what a question. I think worst change is the easier of the two so I'll start with that... I'm going to say the removal of grading. It dumbed things down and stopped rewarding quality. I always thought it was a good learning process, it got people to proof-read, to put time into their media spots and for GFX guys I saw so many guys improve their sig-making over the years. And for podcasts, it at least meant you knew someone listened. I might think of something better later but that's the one which sticks out the most I think. As for best change, it's tough because we never rush into things really so many positive aspects of the league are the result of gradual evolution. Like the fantasy zone is such a staple now but developed really slowly. This site was a reaction rather than planned. So with that in mind I'll say it was the S20 @tfong led VHLM change. The VHLM is still far from perfect but by god was the affiliate system a disgrace. He made that happen on his own basically and thank fuck for that. Honourable mention to the VHL mag - RIP. 2. My brain immediately said 'llama thread' but I think that kind of grew into a life of its own and actually wasn't such a great 'thread' as much as a 'post'. I'm going to go for a personal memory and when @Kyle took us on an Oregon Trail adventure and we had to kill/eat @James and actually made it to the end through the power of #jeffership. @Jeff - oh wow he made it to this site too 3. I don't think so. I think the only other member I can think of is irishbucsfan and well he's Irish and I wasn't teammates with him anyway. I think I might have been on a team with Eldred actually, when I was rebuilding or something, and I'm pretty sure he was an angry Scottish man. So that's it I think. (This is where you tell me we were teammates and I feel bad?) Truly. Madly. Deeply. 1. Thompson and Gate probably deserve to go ahead of me but I'm hoping I don't fall to Quebec so I'll say Thompson Cast Gate . Cuz let's be honest, defence is still the least useful position! 2. Just got overwhelmed - I was also surprised we were good in the first place, but I guess the TPE earning slow-down got to us. There was no energy in the team all season really.... it was coming I think and quite frankly deserved.

I think you're going top 2 but happy to swap.

No recollection whatsoever wow. This feels however like somehow related to Stockholm never really becoming good. -
